Reviews for The Lawrance Luxury Aparthotel - Harrogate

Review 1:No onsite parking for studio apartment, although the great location did make up for this. Also, would prefer a room with a bath? And temperature controls as room was a bit cool while getting ready

Review 2:Lovely clean modern apartment complete with cooking facilities and utensils. Underfloor heating in the bathroom ... (Y)

Review 3:The instructions included a list of fines for not abiding by the 'rules' - it didn't make for a pleasurable stay. Whoever wrote the instructions needs a lesson in customer relations. The television had no remote but for fear of be fined for 'mis-use of out of hours service' I had to make do!

Review 4:Location, parking off street, facilities

Review 5:Was not explained that it was on duchy road rather than kings road upon booking. Took a while to find the location and had to ring for the code for the keys as I wasn't sent this prior.

Review 6:Bed was very comfy, bathroom was spacious. Reception were very kind coming over with mince pies on Christmas Eve. Milk already in the fridge upon arrival which was a relief as I forgot to grab some on the way!

Review 7:Only disappointment was that the hot water ran out after half filling 1 bath!

Review 8:Excellent property, very well designed and appointed. Great value for money and much, much better than a hotel for our family of 2 adults and two girls. Would definitely stay again.

Review 9:Wi-fi did not work properly in Apartment B, but we did not care about it, we still enjoyed our stay.

Review 10:Everything! The apartment was absolutely beautiful! Kitchen has everything - kettle, toaster, all cutlery, dishes, glasses, even dish washer! And washing machine! Felt like at home! Can't wait to go back! Location was good as well, Lucia restaurant only 5 mins away, food was lovely there! Also had a nice massage in The Academy, which was 5 mins drive from the apartment.

Review 11:There was nothing to dislike about this property. If I had to find a critique then the price per hour for late check out was a little steep in comparison to the nightly rate but we still opted for a late check out - was a pleasure to be there!

Review 12:Decor was superb, extremely comfortable bed and a lovely experience from start to finish. Very good value for money! Will definitely visit again!

Review 13:The sofa was long past its best days, very uncomfortable.

Review 14:Clean, wifi worked easily, nice bed, very good facilities. Even had fresh milk in the fridge nice one.

Review 15:There were no instructions in English for the combo cooker/microwave oven, so we struggled with it at first, but worked it out in the end.

Review 16:The apartment was modern, comfortable with everything we needed, including two en suite bedrooms.

Review 17:No mcrowave or bread knife and more detailed instructions on how to use oven would have been good.

Review 18:Great location. Modern ,clean apartment loved the special touches like h2k toiletries and pint of milk in fridge.! Friendly and helpful housekeeping staff.

Review 19:No bath mats provided so a bit Slippy in bathroom, maybe a tv in main bedroom would be good, outside light on steps not working so quite dark when going down them not well sign posted at front

Review 20:Great space large bedrooms good location good facilities

Review 21:Quite steep steps up to property and not particularly well lit.

Review 22:Very comfortable. Beautifully furnished. Good quality furnishings. Plenty hot water at all times. Loved the toiletries!

Review 23:Instructions for oven not very clear. Shower sprayed all over bathroom floor. Would have been nice to have had quick clean and rubbish removal each day.

Review 24:Very spacious. Well equipped. Comfortable. Quiet.

Review 25:Grapefruit knife would be good. The carving knives were very blunt! Not much of a problem though.

Review 26:Great location and great apartment. Lots of nice luxurious touches like auto lights in the wardrobes.

Review 27:Superb location for conference purpose and only a few minutes walk to the famous Betty's. Spacious and very well appointed, next door to Brio, an excellent Italian restaurant (10% discount for residents) it is difficult to fault The Lawrance. With quite a few stairs to negotiate it may be difficult for people with reduced mobility otherwise perfect place.

Review 28:The only thing I could see being an issue which wasn't on our stay but we have holiday lets in Northumberland and have had a lot of problems with sound proofing I could imagine it feeling like a house share when the property is full That said it would'nt deter us from returning as it stands

Review 29:Excellent location Quick and efficient to access Very clean and well equipped

Review 30:The last time we visited in September and the outside light did not work, it still doesn't. Also the dishwasher door is cracked , when we tried to use the dishwasher luckily we were stood back. If we hadn't we would have a broken toe or foot as the door fell to the floor and the dishwasher tipped forward! This needs addressing. Shame as we love this property

Review 31:We have stayed here twice now & love the location the apartment and it's faciliteis Friendly staff when we phoned the office for advice. Great town to visit & all in walking distance ?

Review 32:My only complaint is the little 2 seater sofa we had in are apartment was very hard. Not not for chilling out in the evening and watching a bit of tv.

Review 33:Absolutely fantastic little one bed apartment, Lovely and clean. Comfy bed and excellent facilities. Little shampoos and soap in the bathroom. Coffee, tea and sugar in a little basket and a pint of milk in the fridge. Even ice cubes in the freezer. Couldn't ask for any more.

Review 34:Parking was 5mins walk away, which was ok for us, but be aware that this may be the case depending on which apartments you stay at. No microwave in our apartment.

Review 35:Very clean, and had a high standard of finish to all fixtures and fittings. The apartment was a very big size and had a very spacious bathroom with both shower and bath. Great location in the centre of Harrogate with a short walk to restaurants and shops.

Review 36:Back bedroom was a little cold. There was a free-standing plug in heater available, which was fine to warm it up but I don't really like those heaters, as I worry about them being a fire hazard if left on overnight.

Review 37:Just perfect - gorgeous apartment, immaculate condition. Nice welcome pack. Very organised - emails beforehand with all the codes etc. so very straightforward process. Parking space right outside the apartment. Great stay. Didn't meet any staff so cannot rate them but communication via email and text excellent.

Review 38:Nothing

Review 39:The accommodation exceeded our expectations . When we did have to call out maintenance, the lady was very apologetic, professional & friendly .

Review 40:A great apartment, refurbished to a high standard, clean and close to all amenities. Stayed with my sister and Aunt so ideal as one double bed and two singles. Bed and pillows very comfortable, just wished we'd had longer!

Review 41:Each apartment should have allocated parking as it seemed that people were parking who weren't staying there which meant parking was tricky for us.

Review 42:The location of the apartment was fantastic. The standard of accommodation was excellent.

Review 43:Booked a studio apartment which was more spacious and better equipped than we expected. Had everything you could need for preparing food (cooked our own evening meal and breakfast). The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Review 44:Convenient location. Very detailed arrival information received beforehand. Very luxurious fixtures and fittings and received an upgrade on our apartment which was very much appreciated. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Review 45:Been on the front with a busy road with people shouting at 2.30am outside then traffic at 7am not very well rested

Review 46:The staff provided a professional services the accomadation was very well presented and lovely deco throughout milk in the fridge and tea and coffee was a lovely thought

Review 47:Apartment cool on arrival, requested heating be turned up Saturday afternoon.....did not appear to be any warmer,so rang down 5 o'clock got answer phone ,no staff in reception?Sunday morning heating appeared warmer just a day late.Tried watching a DVD Saturday evening but could not get player to work.To top our stay got wet In the rain walking back to Duchy Road where our car was parked at another Lawrence property,no parking at Kings Road, even though we had requested parking at time of booking.

Review 48:Shower

Review 49:We could not get the heating controls to lower the temperature I the bedrooms so we slept with the windows open

Review 50:We loved the location and the fact we were able to sit outside with our breakfast.

Review 51:Very comfortable basement apartment, luxurious fittings, warm and cosy - perfect for a short break in Harrogate. Quiet location in residential street. Can recommend.

Review 52:Awful sewerage smell in the apartment (which wasn't there last time) I'm sure that this was temporary.

Review 53:Location was great. Apartment well fitted out.

Review 54:York Rd Apt 2. Lower bedroom, perhaps a mattress topper as a little uncomfortable with the two beds put together, a very minor thing!

Review 55:Beautifully appointed. Great location.

Review 56:Fantastic location, only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Harrogate. Good facilities in the apartments and they were clean. An excellent place to stay with a group of girls for a relaxing weekend, we loved every part of it :-).

Review 57:Location was great with nearby places to eat and drink. The rooms were spacious and stylish and there was so much less noise than a hotel stay from other residents.

Review 58:Spotlessly clean. Great location with ample free parking. Everything catered for in terms of iron, glasses corkscrew etc etc.

Review 59:Everything was excellent and of a very high standard. Quality fixtures and fittings. Spotlessly clean.

Review 60:First room was on main road, which was very noisy... Bedroom too warm to keep window closed - too noisy to keep open - result: No sleep. Moved to a second room which was better (although this had a ventilation unit outside which was very noisy... fortunately it switched off around midnight!). Minor niggles:- No coat hooks in hall.Nowhere to hang hand-towels/towels for convenience or to dry (second room did have a towel rail, in the shower!). Bedroom only had small hand-mirror - not ideal for drying hair or dressing. First room only had one small two-seater settee and dining chairs. (The second had a larger settee and pouffe/box-seat)

Review 61:Great location in the centre of Harrogate, easy walking distance from lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Great kitchen facilities - mostly unused! Very helpful staff who dealt with our concerns in a friendly and responsible manner. Comfy beds if you have earplugs! All in all, a good place to stay but not quite as 'luxurious' as we had expected.

Review 62:Parking is a challenge, as it always is in Harrogate, but the staff help as much as possible.

Review 63:Style of the apartment was first class as was its presentation.

Review 64:Basement bedroom too hot and couldn't alter temp. cooker hood too low .We all banged our heads on it at some time.

Review 65:Pleasent area(apart from an all night garden party in neighbouring area) close to amenities. Fitted out beautifully.

Review 66:Such a brilliant idea, so easy to access the apartment and in great location. Everything was spotless and luxurious, it felt like a real treat. It was very thoughtful to have a pint of milk in the fridge too!

Review 67:surprised to find that £200 was actually taken from our account after we had booked and paid and without prior notice because we were " a group booking".

Review 68:spacious, well equipped, well maintained, clean.

Review 69:We have stayed at Lawrence before and been pleased .....this apartment b was very dismal . Too small in living area no nice table to eat from . Sofa dirty and bumpy . Fridge not stable ...frying pan a nightmare ....loads dust under bed ...no view from window.... will not be staying here again

Review 70:Location good

Review 71:The apartment was in a good location exceptional quality and value for money my mother and i had a fantastic time and would highly recommend these apartments to everyone

Review 72:A bit noisey in the back room from peopl upstairs coming back at 5:30am. As its 3 bed I had 6 people with 6 cars so only 2 spaces for 3 beds feels a little tight, although we managed to get 3 cars in 2 spaces and there is on street parking.

Review 73:Location, comfort and staff including check in details.

Review 74:Brilliant location for nightlife/going into town, only a two minute walk.We Left our bags ,parked the car then walked into town. All before our check in time.Staff were wonderful.

Review 75:It was not a particularly hot weekend but the apartment (number 5) was uncomfortably hot, day and night and the only ventilation was two small windows that opened only a fraction. The noise from the car park was loud in the mornings especially the bottles getting thrown out by the restaurants first thing on saturday and sunday which woke us up. The slatted blinds didn't really block out the light at all and were very hard to close. The dustbin in the kitchen was way too small, so rubbish piled up over the weekend. TV reception was pretty shoddy

Review 76:Good location, modern furnishings nice welcome hamper, bed was comfy, good wifi. Nice to have milk provided but we bought our own on the way so would have been good to have known in advance.

Review 77:Location was terrible, we looked to book location on Dudley road ended up somewhere else, wasn't aware we'd be placed somewhere else then had to drive to a different location to drop the car off. Not ideal experience at all. In morning my partner ran a bath then I went to get into shower and there was no hot water left.

Review 78:There was nothing to not like!! I loved my stay here and I will most certainly be back!!

Review 79:I liked everything about this propriety and I will be visiting every time I come to stay in Harrogate

Review 80:Not enough hot water for whole family(4 ) to get a shower on 1st morning, and two single mattresses on a double frame meant very saggy in the middle and sore back in the morning.

Review 81:Very clean, modern and spacious

Review 82:The wifi strength was awful. A playstation is provided as a dvd player. It would be useful if there were tv apps and netflix etc so we can log into our own account

Review 83:Wifi was a little inconsistent but not a huge problem.

Review 84:Beautiful apartment in a quiet but central location. More space than I thought I would get and great kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Review 85:Parking was a problem on the property. Maybe a dedicated space for the apartment.

Review 86:Good quite location. Good base to explore Yorkshire. All in all really good accommodation.

Review 87:There are no hooks or bars to hang towels on. I stayed for 4 nights and needed to ask for these to be changed. For the price per night, this should have been automatic, as well as a vacuum (which was not done either). Breakfast is nothing more than a small bottle of milk in the fridge, an electric water boiler and some packets of tea, instant coffee or instant hot chocolate.

Review 88:The location was very central. The staff was courteous and helpful.

Review 89:Noise. A very noisy centralised extract fan running 24 hours a day. Self closing front doors to adjoining apartments that shake the room when allowed to slam shut.

Review 90:Very well appointed and well located

Review 91:No parking, was a problem for us as we needed to leave early each morning. First night were woken by shattering glass at 6.20am obviously people emptyinglast nights bottles from restaurants etc into main bins. Second night woken at 4.12am and 6.20 by people walking past window talking loudly, maybe leaving club or something?

Review 92:Lovely apartment. Well laid out. Had everything we needed. Easy to find, easy to get in and out, private. Liked the discount pack for local places.

Review 93:Our apartment was on the ground floor, we heard every single step that was took in the apartment above us, it also rattled through to our bedroom door, rattling on every step! It was one of the worse nights sleep we have ever had.

Review 94:The apartment was stunning

Review 95:Spacious,private,quiet, central, parking, bedding, towels, kitchen implements,furnishings...all excellent.Whole apt. beautifully designed and furnished...so clean and comfortable

Review 96:It was fine for me, but there are stairs depending on which floor you are on, (I think there's only 3 floors in the complex I stayed in) and no lift.

Review 97:Beautiful luxury apartments. Everything needed was provided. Immaculately clean. Friendly, helpful staff, who were patient when I was lost. Free parking provided, right on the doorstep, in centre of Harrogate. Bonus !

Review 98:Cannot fault anything!!

Review 99:Amazing stay, fantastic apartments. It was like home from home, I didn't want to come home. Will definitely be booking with the Lawrence again! 10/10

Review 100:Only a bit noisy when a few 'merry' people were shouting on their way home from an evening out, but you would expect this when accommodation is on the main road & near the pubs & restaurants.

Review 101:Great apartment no 1 in Kings Road, comfortable, convenient, clean & modern. Friendly ladies on reception too.

Review 102:Two night stay; no change of towels or re-stock of toilet rolls - disappointing. Showing signs of wear and tear (shower grouting was grubby and walls around the washbasin showing water damage). Dressing table shelf damaged. We had a nice stay in Harrogate despite the extensive list of rules and regulations which accompanied the 'welcome' pack and the threats of 'fines' takes away the feeling of being a welcome guest. In our opinion not good value for money.

Review 103:The room had everything we would want if we were there for a while (dishwasher and washing machine - no drying facility though). Location was good - short walk to town center. Spacious. Well equipped kitchen. Good parking facility.

Review 104:Could have done with instructions to tell you which apartment we were in the message was a long code which I guessed the last letter meant which apartment we were in. Could also have done with instructions as to how to use the lock which the keys were in luckily someone in our group has used one before.

Review 105:Excellent location, and amazing apartment. Absolute luxury will definitely be booking to stay again next year. Onsite parking was very handy.

Review 106:Just one thing. The check-in is really late.

Review 107:I liked very much the modern style of the aparts. I am always expecting that a hotel has a walk-in shower and considering how difficult is to find one, this apart hotel fulfilled my expectations completely.

Review 108:Lacks services usually provided by hotel. Stayed one week only provide one clean. Noisy at night as near busy road.welcome pack was not value for money.

Review 109:Excellent location.fully equipped and furnished to high standard. Has everything you would need.

Review 110:Loved our stay in the apartment, the only problem was that in room 5 catch broke on window and near street so could not open as people too close, and really could do with AIT CONDITIONING!!

Review 111:Wi-Fi was very slow. It was a good walk to where I had to park the car. Not all the electrics worked correctly in the kitchen and there was a spot light hanging from its fitting. During our stay (2 nights) we never met any staff so can not say what they were like.

Review 112:The amount of room in the apartment compared to a B&B or a Hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and roomy. The apartment was very clean and tidy and its location to the town centre was excellent.

Review 113:This apartment has the wow factor for sure... We were 3 couples who visited Harrogate for a concert, we almost didn't want to go out as it was that fab. We had a lovely catch up together when we got back in the evening and popped a few bottles of bubbles. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again when in a larger group. Excellent!

Review 114:A very enjoyable and comfortable stay, clean and modern furnishing and appliances, friendly staff; very pleased with all and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Review 115:Although we were at a different location (York Road) and the apartment looked slightly different to the pictures, we weren't disappointed. The layout of the apartment was great and it was only a 5 minute walk through a lovely part of Harrogate to the town centre. Would definitely recommend!

Review 116:The TV lets this very stylish apartment down

Review 117:This is a perfect place for a group of friends with everything you need for a fab weekend. About 10 min walk to Harrogate. We're already planning a trip back. This was a very high standard apartment.

Review 118:The wifi was pretty useless most of the time I was there - even just checking my email was hit and miss. Seemed okay in the mornings so probably another resident hogging it in the evenings. I found the combi oven/microwave a little confusing - but probably just me!

Review 119:Excellent location, reasonable amount of free overnight parking around, close to town and plenty of room. Nice big TV and plenty of freeview channels. All really modern decoration and nice and clean.

Review 120:Using a Sat Nav had some difficulties in finding the entrance.

Review 121:Location was excellent for the International Centre. There is a reception with friendly staff who were very helpful. Free parking throughout our entire stay could even drop the car off before check in which was great.

Review 122:No parking!!

Review 123:stay in harrogate at least once a month and this has got to be nicest place i have tried! rooms are amazing and 2 minutes walk into town centre.

Review 124:Unfortunately could not get the central heating off so night was too hot although staff said they could adjust this if we let them know. Also parking was a bit of a walk away but not too far.

Review 125:Staff very helpful central location even restraint next door did a take out delivery to the door

Review 126:No car Parking. 10minite walk to pick up car next morning in the rain., Noise in early hours by other guests. Had asked for quiet room.

Review 127:apartment facilities excellent. Very modern and clean.

Review 128:No Parking adjacent apartment although it wasn't that far for parking up at one of the other properties owned by the company

Review 129:All you could want for

Review 130:No wifi reception - which meant we couldn't access work emails. Car park situation was uncontrolled. Supposed to be 1 car per flat, but the other 2 flats had 5 cars between them, so we couldn't park!

Review 131:Beautifully appointed, in a great location, a comfortable retreat after a hard day. We'd love to return again for a leisure break if the negatives could be sorted.

Review 132:Staff are not helpful at all, left an expensive bracelet in the shower and realised when we left, explained exactly where to the staff and they couldn't be bothered to look or reply to our phone calls, eventually after numerous calls they just said "it's not there" we actually know and explained exactly where it was... appalling service, spoilt the trip, such a shame

Review 133:Location and room.
