Reviews for Brunton House Guest House

Review 1:Was well impressed plenty of tea coffee sugar etc. Fresh pint of milk everyday. Definitely value for money. Facilities was exceptional toaster microwave and fridge.

Review 2:I booked late and booking.com had not sent through my details so when I arrived the lady did not know I was coming. Very quick to respond and great service. Would recommend.

Review 3:The baby cot provided could have done with having a mattress inside. It had the standard hard plate inside it which we ended up lining with towels and a blanket. We were there for two nights which was the maximum I'd be happy with.

Review 4:The breakfast in the room was perfect for a family with two children under 4. Cereal, bread, fruit, yoghurt, drinks. Really good. And the room was really clean and had everything we needed.

Review 5:The weather.

Review 6:Very friendly and helpfull and my dog was made welcome. Very varied and ample breakfast. Room had everything we needed including microwave and fridge. Clean and comfortable and excellent value for money.

Review 7:The only thing that was a little annoying was everytime you used the bathroom the extractor fan which was very loud came on and didn't switch itself off for ages even after you turned the light off .

Review 8:The hotel is very close to the beach and shops ,The room was clean tidy and the breakfast that was in the room.ready for the morning s little box of cereal bread .jam was a lovely touch . there was also tea ,coffee ,milk .The owner Paul was very helpful ..

Review 9:The room allocated with 2 patio doors was ideal for our pet. Bed extremely comfortable. Staff very friendly and hotel situated close to all amenities. Excellent in all respects thoroughly recommended.

Review 10:breakfast. continental breakfast lacking the croissants and meat. Tightness of space in the en suite. We would not like to stay any longer than two nights.

Review 11:off road parking. Closeness to all amenities.

Review 12:Great location within a few mins walking distance to the beach. Friendly staff. Comfortable with a good amount of breakfast and drinks supplied in the price. Clean and tidy room and facilities. Would definitely recommend and would go back again! Thank you so much. ;)

Review 13:Lovely little touch with the free boxes of cereal milk bread cheese butter jams bowl of fruit cartons of juice, warm comfortable and friendly would definitely stay again.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Room was very clean fridge and microwave and toaster and kettle -breakfast continental and location very friendly and welcoming would definitely stay again- one of the best guesthouse we have stayed at 5+stars

Review 16:We had a lovely stay at Brunton House. The owners we very friendly and helpful as were the staff. Close to the sea front. Nice idea having breakfast in the room as you dont have to rush about, you can relax and have your breakfast at your leisure. We will be returning.

Review 17:No negative experiences worth mentioning.

Review 18:Friendly and helpfuf proprietor/staff didn't seem to mind in the least that we arrived after 10pm (as we had informed them we would). Much quieter than the last time we stayed overnight (again in the only front ground floor room) when there was a loud conversation going on somewhere inside the building till quite late. Having breakfast readily available in the room to be taken whenever needed is so convenient - makes one's stay all the more trouble-free.

Review 19:Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. Breakfast(inclusive), was more than generous, and we were amazed to have a fridge with extra provisions provided. Also a good selection of different teas, coffee milk sugar etc,(most places are a bit mean with these things, but not at Brunton House Guest House). In a quiet street but only a couple of minutes walk and you're at the pier. We travel quite a lot and this is one of the best guest houses we've come across. Highly recommended.

Review 20:the location was perfect and the staff very helpful! My daughter who is 3 loved her bunk bed! The room was a brilliant size and the breakfast was good too.

Review 21:Near to seaside facilities and entertainment. Flexible use of room. No worries having breakfast in room especially with a young child who won't sit still for long.

Review 22:Only check out time is a bit early;) but it's a summer place so when busy they need to manage it all in good time - understandable.

Review 23:Location is amazing, close to everywhere, station, sea, bars;) You get your own key to the house and room so you come back at your own convenience. Breakfast in the room - very good idea, you don't need to get up early so you manage to have breaky.

Review 24:Room was comfortable for our weekend away. 10 mins walk from the train station and ideally located near Clacton Pier and town amenities. Loved the continental breakfast in the room as not a big breakfast eater.

Review 25:The choice of breakfast could've been more, there was plenty of fruit/bread etc but no choice of cereals. It was simply what they had put in the room

Review 26:We wasn't mithered by the staff, we was greeted with a friendly smile advised they was there if we needed them but was left to our own business

Review 27:little too small parking space(when house is busy) - but still in front of house

Review 28:very friendly staff, breakfast in room with available refridgerator&microwave, good wifi, good location

Review 29:I can't say there was anything I didn't like.

Review 30:What I liked about this hotel was the privacy of this Guest House and the facilities provided. I liked the fact that you got a toaster, microwave and kettle in your room along with everything provided for making breakfast i.e bread, butter, jams, cereals, milk, coffee, tea etc. You are not disturbed by the proprietors, but only had to ask if you required anything. The rooms were clean and comfortable although the mattress could have been a bit better, but this is just a bit picky on my behalf. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 31:Great B&B. Liked the breakfast in the room plus the fridge and microwave. The fast broadband was great too and best of all they allow dogs at no extra charge.

Review 32:The milk in the mini fridge was one day past its sell by. But was fine for tea making.

Review 33:Room was clean, tidy and a good size (which was handy as we had two dogs). Breakfast was self-service which was actually quite good as you could sort yourself out without needing to bother anyone. Location was very good for getting to the centre of town. No real complaints

Review 34:Not that it was the fault of the owners but other guests should be a bit more considerate .we were woken on the sunday morning by the children of the family in the next room at 8 o clock .

Review 35:Nice welcome from the owners, guest house was well presented and nice and clean .Your given a front door key and room key so you can come and go as you please.

Review 36:Small handbasin in bathroom. Material headboards.

Review 37:Friendly helpful hosts, who had no problem with an early check-in. Clean spacious room. Excellent location close to sea front. Good continental breakfast taken in your own room. Good wi-fi reception.

Review 38:This guest house was so close to everything for a nice summer weekend getaway with my 10 year old daughter! The staff were very polite and helpful

Review 39:Room bit noisy only because of main road outside Bed&pillows could be more comfortable Otherwise all perfect.

Review 40:This was the second time we have stayed at brunton house,we do so when visiting family and it's a very nice&relaxed atmopshere Staff are lovely and rooms are well equipped We will be staying again.

Review 41:1. We travelled from Blackpool to visit close family, in Holland on sea, so the location of Brunton Guest House was perfect for our needs. 2. The concept of having a selection of Continental Breakfast items in the room was excellent in that we had something to eat in the room, when we wanted to eat. 3. Brunton Guest House has a dog friendly policy, so we were able to bring our dog with us, this was important to us as our Grandchildren would have been very disappointed if they had not been able to see him. 4. The owners were very helpful, easy to speak to, and very welcoming. The whole stay was very good and I would recommend Brunton House Guest House to anyone visiting the area.

Review 42:Could hear a word-for-word conversation in another room, either above or next-door - not sure where sound coming from. Thin walls or ceiling. Fortunately they stopped before it was time for us to go to sleep.

Review 43:Friendly, welcoming, helpful proprietor-couple, without their being 'in your face'. They leave you to yourself - unless you need them for anything. Clean, comfortable. Liked having pre-organised breakfast in room, to enjoy at one's own pace and convenience - and quite adequate quantity-wise.

Review 44:No complaints at all, our room faced the road so you could hear the cars pass quite a lot during the night but apart from the fantastic, lovely and cozy.

Review 45:Near to all the local attractions. The room was clean, sweet and had lots of amenities and food supplies. Was lovely to come back to the warm comfy room.

Review 46:Nothing. If anything the bed was too comfy!! Fantastic place to stay

Review 47:Large room with a lot of facilities we didnt expect, when you see 'breakfast provided in room' all you expect is cereals. We had cereals, a full fruit bowl, a yogurt each, a full loaf of bread, a pint of milk, a selection of jams and butter. Also in the room was a microwave, fridge and toaster. Free wifi was provided and the parking was great!! Overall it is a fantastic place and we were very suprised at how good it was! The staff were friendly and left us to do our own thing, we asked for a hair dryer on the night and this was waiting outside our room in the morning. Really couldnt of asked for anything more, would certainly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Review 48:There was nothing I disliked about this a Guest house. WNt to go back now.

Review 49:Decor comfort the brightness of the room the facilities you have in the room. The fact that breakfast was in the room was amazing. I know it's not everyone's cup if tea but I liked that idea.

Review 50:Paul and Sofia were lovely host's, there wasn't much interaction, but the interaction there was, was extremely pleasent, we were even leant a bucket abd spade for my young daughter. The accomodation is literally 5 minutes walk from the main beach. Ample parking. All round very very good.

Review 51:I didn't like the coffee , I'm a carte noire girl ! The en suite was a bit small but they all seem to be like it

Review 52:I loved the warm friendly welcome we got , and the help we got with our cases ! I liked the room , it was very clean and the sheets didn't have a nasty smell like some iv been too , I highly recommend it , it's very cheap for a nice place

Review 53:Had a bit of a fight with the folding bathroom door

Review 54:Everything needed in the room which was perfect what with having a child. Freedom to come and go as pleased. Friendly helpful staff and was able to leave bag there after checkout to go explore a little more.

Review 55:Bathroom very tiny but adequate

Review 56:Within very easy walk of town centre and beach. Clean and tidy. Wifi reliable and included in price. Parking free. Continental breakfast in room, basic cereals and toast, tea, coffee, orange juice and yoghurt, with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster which was good for traveling with a 22 month old. Quiet at night despite being on main road (window open). Family room, high season so cost good.

Review 57:Couldn't fault it

Review 58:The owner was really polite and welcoming. Location was perfect and close to the seafront and restaurants in Clacton. Room was spotless and extremely clean and comfortable with a good range of things for breakfast in the room- cereals, full loaf of bread with toaster, cheese, yogurts etc all that's needed for a continental breakfast. Parking available in the drive.

Review 59:No complaints at all.

Review 60:Paul the owner was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Having breakfast in our room was a brilliant idea, so no rush in the morning. I hope more B&B owners would do the same!! Parking on site no problem and no charge which was a bonus. No more than a 5min walk to the pier so location was fantastic along with endless restaurants.
