Reviews for Beech Hill House B & B

Review 1:Exceeded our expectations with a welcome of sherry & chocolate for us & treats for our 2 dogs. Most welcoming & friendly with stunning accommodation & delicious breakfast with a pub two minutes walk away serving amazing food for our evening meal.

Review 2:No complaints at all. Host greeted us and gave us lots of information. Lovely spacious room with every possible thing thought of. Very homely. We chose to have continental breakfast in the room rather than the cooked breakfast which was lovely.

Review 3:Couldn't fault anything.

Review 4:The b & b is very clean, the breakfast is brilliant with plenty to choose from . Although it is near a busy road there is hardly any noise and the greyhounds that are fostered here are quiet as mice! Hosts are very fiendly and always make it an enjoyable visit.

Review 5:the bathroom only had a shower attachment to the bath I have only one arm and found it difficult

Review 6:breakfast could not be faulted it was superb I tried a different breakfast every day for 4 days and all were excellent

Review 8:Had a wonderful 2 day-stay at this B&B. The room is big with a balcony and bathroom with all amenities you could think of. The hosts Jenny and Stuart are very helpful and pleasant. Excellent breakfasts cooked to order. Extraordinarily pet friendly.

Review 9:Lovely bedroom with decked outside area, ideal for the dog and own access to room. Excellent breakfast and lovely host, even gave us dog training tips.

Review 10:Not really a bad experience, but house just close to the busy dual carriageway.

Review 11:Our bedroom was lovely with every care given to every possible need. The breakfast was excellent, with great choices. Our hosts were friendly and helpful.

Review 12:The decor was a bit dated and smelt a little of dogs but other than that you would never have known they had dogs!

Review 13:We loved our stay here, we felt very welcome and they had everything we needed and it was very clean!

Review 14:The room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was amazing as it was modern and also spacious with having a dog we were able to put her in there for the night. The breakfast was delicious too and the staff were very friendly! Ideal location, close to Kendal, the lakes, Yorkshire dales and the coast!

Review 15:Location. Just off a seemingly busy dual carriage way, adjacent to a cattle grid, and from the farm across the road, a strong smell of manure in the air.

Review 16:Excellent bathroom.

Review 17:Room a bit cluttered; bed a touch hard; house close to A590 - not obtrusive with windows closed but could be in summer

Review 18:The people were lovely; the breakfast really good

Review 19:Cannot think of anything

Review 20:the whole experience : Jenny ( didn't really meet Stuart )dogs ,other guests accommodation ,extras - bathroom toiletries ,drinks ,tailored morning menu ,Entertainment DVDs etc ,dog catering and dishes ,towels etc , Nothing was too much trouble

Review 21:Nothing at all to dislike

Review 22:I treated my family to a one night stay here due to a late evening meal the night before only one had breakfast which she saud was excellant, the hostess kindly offered to reimburse us for not having breakfast, everything in this B and B is perfect every thought been given for the comfort of the guests, cannot fault nothing about the place at all, and very dog friendly too, I didn't see much of the host has we were out most of the time but she is so lovely and welcoming, highly recommended it was spotless

Review 23:The Beech Hill House is welcoming, warm, and the breakfasts are splendid. Our hostess was very informative and friendly. The position of Beech Hill House is very convenient for exploring the South Lakeland area. Our room was well equipped, and the bathroom was larger than expected. A glass of sherry was left to welcome us, as well as tea, coffee etc. As dog lovers (who had left our dogs in kennels at home) we were surprised to find that despite doggy guests being welcome, there is no evidence at all of previous doggy guests. That is, no hairs, smell, or other signs that dogs have ever been present. Even the owners dogs made no sound! A great place to stay, and at a reasonable price. We would definitely stay again, if in the area.

Review 24:We stayed for a night. Room was very clean and nicely set. we had the choice of completing our preferences for the next day breakfast. We had a very tasty and home cooked breakfast. Also all relevant information re the area was available in the room. There are pubs near by if you fancy a dine out in the evening. Indeed will go back when going to Lakes

Review 27:Nothing that either if us can think of.

Review 28:Everything. From the welcome sherry to the king size bed, the huge bathroom and the walk-in wardrobe. From the staff to the breakfast. It was comfortable and enjoyable all-round.

Review 29:Right off the A590 very easy to get to, a good base for day trips in the lakes. Bed was amazingly comfortable Glass of sherry for us on arrival in the room All the little helpful touches like a torch and sewing kit in the room really show how well the owners think through the potential needs of their guests. The breakfast was outstanding

Review 30:lovely friendly welcome, room spotless plenty of tea coffee etc, plenty of toiletries in bathroom. breakfast was excellent all freshly cooked & served in the lovely conservatory. bonus was the pub the derby arms was 2 mins down the road, we ate there on both nights and had lovely meals on both nights. staff were very welcoming even bringing treets over for our dog.met a lovely couple from altrincham who also had their dog with them. jenny & stuart couldn,t have made us any more welcome.

Review 43:The room was good. / ,books , freesat tv, dvd`s , and a glass of sherry when we arrived . good choice at breakfast. Nice Pub 2 min. walk up the road, Excellent food.

Review 44:Two little probs we encountered were that we were unable to get the Wi-Fi. I think it is probably because my network O2 is unavailable in that area. Also, however hard we tried, we were unable to work out how to work the telly and DVD player. It didn't bother us too much as it was only for one night, but maybe some instructions would be useful!! (Or maybe we were just a bit thick!)

Review 45:Fab B&B. Very dog friendly. Very comfy bed and facilities. Loved the sherry & choccies on arrival. Breakfast was excellent. Pub 1 min walk with really good food. Very friendly and comfortable stay. Overall = highly recommended

Review 46:We booked very late in the day but were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent and well presented. The owner rescue greyhounds and accept dogs but there was no evidence of doggie smells which is more than I can say for my old dog. Review 89:Nothing and stayed several times before.

Review 90:The dog friendly service provided is excellent and very welcome. All the little extras on offer are a real treat. Very tasty breakfasts cooked by Stuart with a wide choice of food. Dinner at The Derby Arms nearby is a real experience of a local pub who welcome dogs and is relaxed with good food.

Review 91:The staff were fantastic. We couldn't have been made more welcome with our dog. We chose this accommodation because it was so dog friendly, and weren't disappointed.

Review 92:2 large dogs at breakfast. Couple did ask if we minded and we said we didn't but would have preferred not having such big dogs in although we understand it is a dog friendly place and it was our choice. Not a big deal though

Review 100:I could only stay one night

Review 101:cleanliness of the accommodation, the breakfast was excellent and the room was very nice with a wide range of DVD's's and books to look at

Review 102:Breakfast was a bit early for a weekend, perhaps extend to 9 or 10 at weekends so guests can have a lie in.

Review 107:This is a very nice place to stay for sure. There are some very nicetouches such as the sherry in the room for guests. The bed wasexceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. The propertyis within walking distance to an excellent pub in town. We were here for2 nights and enjoyed it very much. The couple who own the property alsoboard rescue dogs...the dogs are very friendly too. As mentioned inanother recommendation, they allow dogs, but you would not know it. Therooms were spotless.

Review 108:Everything! The bed was very comfy, the room spacious and clean with everything you could want, even a small fridge. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts welcoming and friendly. A pub within walking distance serving excellent food means you don't need to drive to get a meal. Good location for lakes and coast.

Review 109:Whilst it didn't have an impact on me personally there is a slight traffic noise in the early part of the evening. It is a very minor point and shouldn't discourage anyone from wanting to stay and the overall warmth of the hosts ought to negate that in any event.

Review 110:The welcome we received on arrival and the overall standard of this accomodation is simply a credit to the owners and the industry as a whole. An extremely enjoyable stay.

Review 111:Jenny and Stuart are great hosts. They also rescue and rehome retired greyhounds which is lovely. I took my two whippets and was provided with dog beds etc. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast is excellent! Jenny really looked after me. Hope to go again soon.
