Reviews for Villa Pelekanos

Review 1:It's on the far edge of the Karterados village, about 10 min walking from the main road with the bus stop to Fiera and airport.

Review 2:Good budget accommodation with swimming pool, fridge, AC. The guest house is within reasonable walking distance (25 min) to the Fiera bus stop. Karterados is much cheaper and more relaxed than Fiera while still being reasonably central.

Review 3:Hood position in karterados, just 1 km from Fira. The room was clean and big, nice balcony with a Great view.Maria and her daughter were really nice and kind.I really like villa pelikanos, If I came back to Santorini I would stay Here again!

Review 4:It is really far and tiring to walk to the bus stop to Fira with your heavy luggage while the road is up and down. Then, to Fira you can take a bus 5mn but If you wanna save 1,8e for just 5mn, you need to walk more. It is not convenient especially after a tiring day. Should better to find another place nearer to Fira if you don't have a car for your luggage.

Review 5:It's a nice place with swimming pool. The room is well equipped and nice.

Review 6:The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. It was about a 20 minute walk to the center - not bad at all. The pool was lovely and nice to dip in after a hot walk. I made the booking last minute and it was very affordable considering the other places in santorini.

Review 7:Location can be far from the bus stop. In this case, best to rent anatv, scooter, or a car to get you to places. Make sure to ask fordiscounted rates if you rent for 3 days or more! Not much shops, restaurants, cafes, etc near here as it would be in Fira or Oia, but sufficient enough.

Review 8:1) Very nice swimming pool2) Has AC 3) Large bathroom 4) Has mini-fridge 5) Daily cleaning services 6) The owner was very nice and helpful whenever we needed help (on more than one occasions!) She helped to organize an excursion for us and had the food delivered to us on one evening. 7) Our room had the view of the sea (not all rooms have such views)

Review 9:it would be a good suggestion maybe to hang

Review 10:very friendly and helpful staff, convenient to go around the island by car as it is located in the middle of it. You can even go on foot to Fira, great value for money

Review 11:very basic ,all up hill to town ,buses ,tavernas ,shops .beds uncomfortable,no shower hook or curtain made if difficult to shower ,can't be helped but very noisy other people staying ,sound travel banging doors all through night .

Review 12:The pool was really nice .

Review 13:nothing to dislike

Review 14:The owner was very friendly and helped us rent a quade. Location was awesome if you have wheels. I would say this is more of a bed and breakfast type place. Perfect for the price it is. Can't beat it. Pool was very clean.

Review 15:-It is a bit far from the Fira city and the bus stop. 10 min walk uphill to the bus stop, + another 15 to Fira. But if you are young and fit it shouldn't be a problem.) Busses run once an hour.

Review 16:-Room was clean and nice, very simple -Quiet -Maria (owner) picked me up from the airport and dropped me off for my flight as well, she is very nice and helpful) - a lot of small shops and restaurants, bars in that area, so even without breakfast option there is always some place to eat. -Very nice beauty salon just opened opposite bus stop in Karterados, had my hair cut and colored there and it looks amazing, prices are good too.

Review 17:We stayed for a week kn October the weather was great. The family were lovely and the transfer to/ from airport wifi and air conditioning were all included in the price great value from money. Great if you want out the biz but close enough if you want to explore Fira. We asked about hiring a car and within minutes it was booked for us. Great service would recommend it and would love to go back

Review 18:It's primarily a couples place so I wish I had a girl there with me.

Review 19:Villa Pelekanos is my favorite places to stay in Katerados village, Thira (Santorini). I stayed here in 2013 and loved it so much I came back a year later. Maria and her family are great people and the pool is great for a cannonball.

Review 20:* Just to say something: a little bit far from Fira by foot.

Review 21:* Owners very helpfull. We needed to book a excursion and they did it for us, we wanted to rend a bike and in 5 min we had a bike in the hotel. Besides, when we had to leave and catch a ferry at the port they offered us a ride. * Rooms ok.

Review 22:pick up from the port close to city center help to rent a car recommendations provided by the staff to visit places kind family owned rooms cheap

Review 23:1. Distance from bus stop. It was a uphill walk of about 600-700 meters. 2. Not many places to eat near the hotel. FIRA market is at least 2 KM walk and buses not very frequent.

Review 24:1. Good swimming pool. 2. Landlady spoke reasonably good English. 3. There was pick up and drop off facilities from airport and sea ports. 4. Room was very simple but was well maintained.

Review 25:The staff entered to our room to repair the bathroom without telling us, and we had to wait until they finished, to take a shower.

Review 26:The swimming pool

Review 27:Small room, no shadow from sun for the whole day till 7 p.m.

Review 28:clean towels every day.

Review 29:home feeling villa

Review 30:To far from town all up hill & local beach to far to walk to .but cheap !!

Review 31:Small bathroom

Review 32:Swimming pool

Review 33:-double charged on my debit card (I am still waiting for refund, it will take 1month) -quite far from main road and Fira

Review 34:room staffs

Review 35:loved the pool, very quiet nights compared to other hotels on the island, very friendly and helpful staff, clean, good wifi, free airport transfer

Review 36:It's a little bit far from the bus station but overall it's good

Review 37:Location is not very good.

Review 38:The landlady, maria, is very nice and drive me to the port. The swimming pool in the yard is great. Facilites is good and the room is very comfortable.

Review 39:Lobby a bit noisy (of course depend of other guest) An advice: the beach close to the hotel (Monolithos) is not very pretty. Take a bus and go somewhere else.

Review 40:We book at villa Pelakanos but we stayed at Anna pension (seems the same owner) The free pickup service at the port was very useful! The room was very clean and with a nice balcony. There were also a swimming pool. Karterados is a good option to visit Fira (for your budget). We never use the bus, from Anna pension, you can easily walk just as the center (20mn).

Review 41:Santorini island was experiencing a shortage of electricity during our stay. The villa had already provided the room with oil lamp and a lighter so we could use it whenever it was needed (that occurred rarely).

Review 42:The location of the villa in Booking was shown a bit far from Karterados village, while in reality it was close to other pensions. We notified the landlord of our arrival a day before and they promptly offered to pick us up from the port (travelling by fast ferry from Heraklion). The room was cleaned and sheets/towels were changed daily. There was a sink and fridge with glasses, spoons, knife, forks, plates etc but no stove or hot plates. At least it provided us with the tools for our own breakfast. A day before leaving we were offered transport back to the port by the landlord. A very friendly family-run environment, clean pool and nice house 'frappe' :-)

Review 43:I would recommend this hotel. It is basic, clean and the staff are very good. They expect to pick you up from the port or airport by minibus, so let them know by email or by phoning when you are arriving. It has a nice pool which is welcome after a hot day sightseeing. It is a 5-10min walk to the nearest bus stop for travelling around the island. You can hire scooters or ATV's nearby, or the hotel will arrange a hire car if you want.

Review 44:The location is not convenient if you don't hire a scooter (Fira is 30 minutes walking). Wireless does not work in all the rooms.

Review 45:The owners are very kind and will try to help you in your needs. There is free transfer at airport / port even late in the night. Great value for money. Location very quiet and convenient if you hire a scooter. Very clean.

Review 46:Very friendly and hospitable staff. They waiting us on the port andtransfer us to the hotel. Hotel is close to the main city Thira. Asproof of good service the owners of the hotel give us free of chargelate check out.

Review 47:Nothing.

Review 48:Complimentary shuttle. Pool great. Maria and daughter were fantastic. Great proximity to the capital.

Review 49:water is a little bit salty

Review 50:friendly owners, quiet, very clean, not far away from beach, close to shops

Review 51:kindly host, clean room

Review 52:Everything!

The Fine Print

Guests can reach the property by taxi or local bus from both the airport and port. The port lies within a 25-minute drive to Karterados and the airport lies within a 10-minute drive.
