Reviews for Best Western Irida Resort
Review 1:Lovely welcome from Kostas and his family. A jug of excellent home made red wine was very welcome on arrival. Room was well appointed and clean. Huge breakfast.
Review 2:The hotel is located close to the beach. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. There are coffee & Tea making facilities. When I arrived at the hotel I was presented with a box of chocolates. The hotel is a family run hotel managed by Kostas and his wife Rena who were excellent hosts. They were very friendly and happy to help with any request. In fact everyone that worked at the hotel was very friendly. As a solo traveler I was made to feel as part of the family. Breakfast was excellent. Kostas and Rena took me sightseeing as I was interested in a number of archeological sights and other points of interest in the area. I really enjoyed my stay at the Irida resort as it felt like a home away from home. I look forward to staying here again next time I visit Greece.
Review 3:The beach at this point is not great for playing on or walking along as it has a lot of washed up stuff (sticks etc). Would be good if you like searching for shells and so on. Further along it's more sandy. We seemed to be the only guests and the staff hung around a little too much (if you are an extrovert this won't be a problem - very personal service!). There was a slightly odd smell in the room (maybe incense or some sort of unusual cleaning product?). The wifi password in the information booklet is a couple of years out of date (but a quick call to reception got me the current one). It was great to have a playground, but it needs maintenance (some of the poles are almost rusted through).
Review 4:The rooms were very comfortable, with new and very clean furnishings and stylish decor. The shower was one of the best I had for my whole trip through Greece, and breakfast was amazing!
Review 5:No negatives as far as we were concerned
Review 6:Lovely comfortable bed , room spotlessly clean . Had a great welcome from Kostas and his family . Best breakfast ever , fit for a king ! The family couldn't do enough for you without being intrusive . Would thoroughly recommend the hotel . Only a short stroll to several tavernas
Review 7:The place is absolutely fantastic if you're looking for a quiet place to go with small children. There is a big lawn with a playground and swings. The sea is great although you have to walk a little to get to a good sandy beach. Kostas' and Irena's hospitality is outstanding! Kostas will give all sorts of advice about surroundings and Irena's cooking is really really great. Oh, and don't trust Google Drive directions, go through Kalo Nero, the road is much better that way.
Review 8:The facilities were spacious and very comfortable. The owners and their family were extremely friendly and made us feel that we were staying with close friends. The breakfasts were more than ample and they were fresh and delicious. This was a most enjoyable and comfortable stay. The location is ideal, only about one-half mile from the main road which heads north to Ancient Olympia and east and south to Kalamata.
Review 9:Kosta and Irida will welcome you with their warm traditional Greekospitality and will take care of you all along your stay there. Thebreakfast is superbe and very Greek! We really enjoyed our stay thereand we strongly recommand this hotel!
Review 10:Wi-fi signal patchy, best if sitting outside reception Midges!
Review 11:Warm welcome from our hosts Amazing breakfast: omelettes cooked to order, and a wide variety of bread, cakes and pastries, cheese, ham, fruit Room spacious and very well equipped with great shower and kitchen area Good storage space Free safe provided Proximity to the sea and Ancient Olympia
Review 12:The beach of the hotel has big slippery stones, so a bit hard come to water, but you can use village beach at the left side (3 minutes walk) or big sandy beach at the right side (2 mintes walk).
Review 13:Hotel staff is amazing, here you can feel 'personal touch' which you can find only in super luxury 5 star hotels. Our room was large, clean, had all needed facilities. Hotel located outside main village, thus it is quiet. But if you want to visit village it will take only 2-3 minutes walk. Sea near hotel is clear, divers came to it to view sealife.
Review 14:my GPS didn't show the easiest way to find it
Review 15:Everything! the friendliness of Irida and son, a welcome as in the family, the comfort, the style , and an incredible breakfast. located close to the tavernas certainly among the 2 best I met during our trip in mycenia
Review 16:Excellent breakfast friendly owners in the centre of many sightseeings in Peloponnese
Review 17:Great staff and large comfortable rooms.
Review 18:Friendly personnel, cozy clean room, homemade breakfast.
Review 19:Comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. Friendly owners. Secluded place.
Review 20:Free wifi was available, but in some locations in our room (usually areas located away from the entrance), the signal was very weak or nonexistent.
Review 21:Upon arriving at the resort, we were immediately struck by the warm welcome we received from the owner (Kostas) and his kind family. Even though some of our family members speak Greek, Kostas spoke English very well, which was very helpful. We had to climb 3 flights of stairs to reach our room, but Kostas’ son assisted with our luggage, making the climb much easier. The room itself was beautifully decorated, spacious enough for our family of 4 adults, and offered an amazing view of the beach. The gorgeous sunsets over the water (which Kalo Nero is famous for) were breathtaking to watch from our beach side balcony in the evenings. The other amenities in the room were also excellent. Our beds were very comfortable, the room was well-ventilated, and the air-conditioning worked extremely well. Every morning of our 10 day stay, Kostas’ wife, Rena, prepared delicious homemade breakfasts, including eggs, bread, salad, rice pudding, yogurt, coffee, loukoumades, and other pastries. She also offered to make anything that we requested. Everything was extremely fresh and always served with a smile. We frequently received so much food in the mornings that it was difficult to eat anything for the rest of the day! Rena even personally prepared homemade pastitsio for us one evening for dinner. We all agreed it was one of the best pastitsios we had ever eaten. The hospitality we experienced truly exceeded all of our expectations. In addition to the food and drinks that were always on offer, Kostas spent hours sharing his wealth of knowledge about local restaurants, sites, Greek history, philosophy, and museums. We spent hours every day speaking with Kostas and his wife, and they truly made us feel as though we were spending time with family. Interacting with the Kostas family was one of the most memorable and enjoyable parts of our trip to Greece. We will definitely be returning and recommend the Irida Resort to anyone visiting the area.
Review 22:I would love to spend many days there, but is a bit of expensive.
Review 23:Both owners hospitality! Mr Kostas and Mrs Rena are the friendlier people you could meet and they love what their doing. They will suggest you historical places to visit. Mrs. Rena is unbelievable good cooker.
Review 24:The Best Western Irida Resort is in front of the beach, ideal for romantic getaways in Winter time, you listen the waves. Rooms are spacious, neat, clean and equipped with everything you may need. The bed is perfect. Breakfast is fantastic in buffet with fresh products, homemade recipes, jams, cakes, pancakes, fresh eggs and fruits from the farm. The owners were very friendly, guided us to nearby Archaeological place and helped us to plan an all-day excursion to the river Neda. Thanks to them for their zeal, enthusiasm and quality holidays!!!
