Reviews for Bushmills Youth Hostel
Review 1:There was no breakfast of any kind provided which we found very strange as we have stayed in many many hostels and always there us some kind of breakfast provided and for The price we paid this was very disappointing
Review 2:Lovely hostel , staff were very friendly , good location
Review 3:The WiFi is only accessible in the lobby - you cannot use it in your room or any other common room. Also, there was no breakfast, or even coffee.
Review 4:The kitchen was really nice, clean, organized, easy to use. Also the room I was in had no bunks, which is nice not to have to climb a ladder to get in bed.
Review 5:check-in was only at 3.30 pm, I arrived to Bushmils at 1.30 pm and wanted to travel to the Giant's Causeway but without my luggage - sadly there was no one at the reception at the time and the door was locked. eventually I just left my luggage outside of the hostel with a note and they took it in when they got there, which was nice of them. there was no breakfast included in the (high) price. I didn't like the fact that I had to make the bed on my own (they gave me clean sheets for that) and also to strip the sheets when checking out.
Review 6:great location - 30 seconds from the bus station. decent wifi, although it is only available in the lounge area. really nice and helpful staff!
Review 7:nothing - it was faultless!
Review 8:Lovely spacious room, clean feel throughout hostel. Friendly and helpful staff. My sons said the hostel was the best thing out of the whole of our trip!
Review 9:Not a big deal but Wifi only works in the entrance hall. Receptionist not really of a help with travel tips. I got the feeling he does not know the local environment well, i.e. wrong info on free parking in front of the hostel (we now know that is not free - thanks for the souvenir). Was not able to provide a bus time table for returning to Bushmills from Ballintoy.
Review 10:Excellent location. Close to the giants causeway. Simple but clean and quite. Do not expect a lot of comfort, but for the price it is perfect.
Review 11:Wifi is only available in the lobby. Reception is not 24 hours (maybe because it's low season).
Review 12:Location is great. Room is spacious. Ensuite bathroom. My room is all single beds. Very quiet cosy place to stay.
Review 13:The welcome isn't typical of N. Irish hospitality. Polite but simple handing over of key and sheets and no tour or helpful direction. Other guest explained the bathroom and what where instead. Too kind of rigid rule feeling, rather than friendly and easy going but helpful all the same with luggage storage but no help with bags otherwise.
Review 14:Comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast in the garden. Good size kitchen. Large dining and sitting area. Could leave luggage whilst out and about till 12.30pm.
Review 15:The price is too high for what is offered. No towels provided Wifi doesn't work. TV in the lobby completly disconnected and it took me 10 minutes to connect everything so kids can whatch some cartoons in the morning. Computers in the lobby noot working. Bathroom/washroom/toilet in very poor condition. Walls quite dirty. With just a bit attention and not too much mone the place could be converted in an excellent condition. We stayed in a similar type of hostels in Germany and payed only half of the price for the rooms that were completly refurbished and clean. No breakfast available anywhere nearby before 9am.
Review 16:Location.
Review 17:Although there was a mix up with the bookings (4 rooms were required but only 1 was actually booked), the hostel manager resolved the issue effectively and efficiently the day before our arrival. Not easy considering it was peak season!
Review 18:The manager was extremely helpful in fixing a problem with our booking and finding space for us for a second night. There was a nice mix of families, older and young adult travelers. The facility was very nice, and the location excellent. Great spot!
Review 19:Only one uncomfortable pillow. Fortunately I brought my own! :)
Review 20:It's got everything a traveller needs by way of amenities and it's located near all the places I wanted to go, free parking and next to a supermarket.
Review 21:Uncontactable by telephone, day or night then proceeded to blame us for problems even after I demonstrated phoning the hostel and the phone ringing. I attempted to ring them 5 times over the course of the day (between 2pm and 8 pm) in order to establish if potential late arrival would be an issue. Does not maintain a 24h reception. Rude and unhelpful staff, we arrived late in the evening (about 5-10 minutes after the alleged closing time) to find the hostel closed and save for a kind fellow resident allowing us entry, we would have been sleeping on the street. We were asked 'How did you get in?!' as though because we were residents we shouldn't be granted entry. Blinds broken in room so no opportunity for privacy.
Review 22:Nice courtyard and outdoor seating area.
Review 23:-location right at main street (and bus stop) in Bushmills. Good point for exploring area -nice open courtyard and other common areas -dorm room was very thoughtfully laid out - storage space and electrically outlets for each traveller -dorm had ensuite bath -free towel
Review 24:best price I've gotten for reserving the night before, not many people there, I had the entire 4 bedroom room with a bathroom to myself.
Review 25:Conveniently near Giants Causeway and in Bushmills centre
Review 26:We had everything there to entertain our children and get rest.

Review 35:It's very spacious, quiet and an excellent location
Review 36:Only thing I could have wished for would have been a buffet breakfast.
Review 37:It was a quiet night so only two in a four person room with ensuite facilities.
Review 38:No wifi in rooms
Review 39:Right in the center of Bushmills. 4 minutes of the Giant's Causeway.
