Reviews for The Langtry Hotel
Review 1:our window didn't quite shut properly but it is an old building and didn't bother us but if it was colder it may have.
Review 2:Staff were really friendly and gave us tips on places to eat etc. Location is perfect for arcades and the pier, a lovely american/italian diner round the corner as well as a wetherspoons and prezzo. lots of parking, lots of shops in the main town- great little town for a mini break away. we didn't manage to make it to breakfast but had a fab fry up from the american diner round the corner highly recommend.
Review 3:En suite and communal corridors in need of a revamp. But it's not that bad, otherwise I wouldn't be heading back there now. Arriving just before the 10pm check in deadline..
Review 4:Hotel close to everything. Everything worked. Rooms cleaned regularly. Nice cooked breakfast. Nice staff, especially Bobby.
Review 5:Room needed updating, but not a problem.
Review 6:Friendly staff and a brilliant breakfast. Good central location for overnight stay after seeing a show at Westcliffe Theatre.
Review 7:Nothing to not like. Perhaps coffee in rooms and at breakfast could have been better quality.
Review 8:Breakfasts were first class - freshly made, piping hot and plenty of choice. Friendly, hospitable reception staff and room had been cleaned each morning whilst we were having breakfast.
Review 9:The 'base' noise at night time from nearby clubs, and the 'lack' of air conditioning (dehydrated every morning because it was so hot).
Review 10:The staff were fairly friendly. The sea air.
Review 11:The shower & toilet room was very small,it was difficult to get to the shower. Toilet roll holder was broken, so was the towel rail. The room was not very clean. The bed looked as if it had been slept in & not changed The hotel was next to a club which played loud music, with the bass turned up, until the early hours of the morning
Review 12:location was good. parking was easy
Review 13:Location excellent for pier, seafront and town. Parking could be problem when hotel busy but we had parking space throughout our stay. Breakfast excellent using good quality produce. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Review 14:The shower ....... it was like trying to wash in a light rain shower, no pressure whatsoever. This definitely needs addressing and the pillows were a little hard, as they supply 4 at least 2 should be soft.
Review 15:Friendly helpful staff, clean, good breakfast, very close to the front. Would definitely use the hotel again.
Review 16:I think the basket in the bathroom needs to be removed, all rusty. And room would need some fresh paints if possible.
Review 17:I liked the location of the place, close to the main pier and staff attitude - friendly:-)
Review 18:the staff here were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. the breakfasts were very nice too. rooms very basic but at the end of the day this reflects in the price but it was clean and comfortable. would stay there again if i was in the area
Review 19:It is clear that there is upgrading in progress in the hotel - but our room needed to be upgraded; rather small toilet and shower room, and redecoration needed.
Review 20:Friendly and helpful staff. Potential to be a really good hotel.
Review 21:Room was on 2nd floor (despite having asked for a ground floor room). Was very small and very hot with only a small window which let in all the Friday night noise. Didn't sleep well because of fighting on the street out front and the heat.
Review 22:Staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and they are attached to a fabulous restaurant called Franco's - not to be missed.
Review 23:Nothing
Review 24:Great location .very helpful staff and lovely breakfast .room clean fresh towels daily we go clayton every year and very happy we decided to try different hotel and will go back there again
Review 25:Our two nights were disturbed with night club next door to the point of disrupted sleep from two thirty onwards. Aware of other residents discussing their nights sleep problems over breakfast the next morning!!. However we were aware of location and should have not been surprised and would point out that this had no reflection on the lovely hotel. Perhaps a police patrol may have scooped up the youth who was intent on bashing up the car park opposite, alas a heavy downpour did the trick!. Oh to be young!.
Review 26:Spilling out onto the seafront in seconds was perfect! Good pub minutes away and all the lovely atmosphere what a sea side location brings. Hotel comfortable and hubby was impressed with his full english breakfast the next morning. Cook did her best to serve my order of two dippy eggs which were perfect.
Review 27:Breakfast was Fantastic, Staff and Management very good, Room was very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend and we will definitely use this Hotel again.
Review 28:Dangerous electrics - lampshade was perched on bulb of bedside lamp and had actually burnt it. This is a fire hazard. Light pull was located inside the shower cubicle. Room no 1.
Review 29:Staff are very friendly and eager to please.
Review 30:The room was slightly dirty the bath room was tiny and they refused to give the pass word for the wifi even thou it states free wifi ask for pass word
Review 31:The room was nice and comfy breakfast was lovely and stuff were friendly
Review 32:Only that the adjoining restaurant, which looked very nice, is closed on Wednesday evenings. The stair carpet was badly stained which was offputting.
Review 33:Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
Review 34:Difficult to wash with the door shut Beds were too hard carpets in corridors were quite worn
Review 35:The staff here made up for all the little discomforts, very friendly and helpful- nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful
Review 36:The bathroom/shower room was far too small. Bedroom OK and clean BUT the bed sheets were not ironed and one of the pillowslips had not been changed from the last occupant ,as it was obvious it had been slept on
Review 37:Friendly recepetion ,great breakfast , convenient position
Review 38:Bed dipped in the middle very uncomfortable leg missing in the middle. Breakfast was OK could do with a better quality sausage.
Review 39:The hotel was ok for my needs as i only stayed one night
Review 40:We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and comfortable bed. Perfect location. Only drawback was the tiny bathroom and not very hot water. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.
Review 41:Linda, owner & staff member (dont know his name), very pleasant, accommodating & very helpful. Breakfast was whatever we wanted, rooms were clean & price was well worth it. We will stay there the next time we come.
Review 42:Rooms could do with updating.
Review 43:Very friendly young man on reception, very helpful. Comfortable bed, good tv, reasonably quiet hotel considering it's location.
Review 44:Everything not clean. Guy serving breakfast had no apron on but manage to roll a cigarette up. It was more like a knocking shop hotel than one with a relatively high scoring from booking.com
Review 45:But when arrived waited 15 mins for someone to check us in. We got to our room and found hairs in shower, bed and in draws! We would hear the people in the next door clearly when they was just chatting! Also had a pudgion in vent we could hear it in our bathroom. Kept us up and next door even commented they could hear it to lol!!! That's how thin the walls are! Needs updating big time!! Guy that owns the place is very grumpy and moody. Staff helpful but again waited 15 mins to check in. Hall ways smelt like fried bread. Was worst place I have ever stayed! Was that put off by hairs all over room and the face on the guy that ran it and how they care for the rooms I didn't even dare eat the breakfast!!
Review 46:Was close to da front
Review 47:Booked for 3 nights left after one night. No noise from street but woken at 6 am by next door talking on his mobile. walls so thin could hear every word. Ensuite tiny. All shabby. lots of rooms why put people right next to each other if you know walls are paper thin?
Review 48:Breakfast very good. beds comfy. brilliant restaurant attached to hotel
Review 49:Noise of creaky floorboards above room! Music from builders working in building opposite till 1.30am!
Review 50:Very pleasant staff, ideal location for seaside and town. Great breakfast.
Review 51:Window didn't close completely. En-suite not exactly, as the basin is in the bedroom, and the shower and WC in small enclosed space off of it with limited area to move, tall or "larger" guests could be constricted when using facilities.
Review 52:The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful also in explaining the Wi-Fi which was fast. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
Review 53:Only complaint no bath only showers in rooms.

Review 60:Loved the location and the breakfast was amazing.
Review 61:Very uncomfortable bed and only basic amenities, not the best part of town. Obviously no recent renovations, old smell to the room and hotel.
Review 62:Great breakfast and lots of hot water. Friendly staff.
Review 63:Had asked for upper storey room was given room which was dirty and totally unsatisfactory had bedside lamp but nowhere to plug in headboard of bed fell off bed then asked for change of room which was given. Reception staff seemed to be more interested in computer that guests most times never even lifted head to acknowledge guests going in/out. On last day found female staff member who had returned that day from sickness to be extremely nice, helpful and friendly.
Review 64:No porridge available for one of our family, showers difficult to get right temperature & pressure, en-suites very tiny & uncomfortable, kettles to big for rooms, not able to fill properly in wash hand basin, TV remote did not work properly as had to place around with batteries in remote, this hotel is in serious need of upgrade but was ok for one night stay over, please book an appointment with Miss politzy you need help
