Reviews for Citotel Hotel Imperial
Review 1:Noisy neighborhood (casino), paper-thin walls, limited number of secure parking spots, breakfast was generous but a bit boring. No view.
Review 2:Clean. Friendly staff. Very good pricing.
Review 3:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived before the check in time; the room was ready so we were allowed to check in early. The interior decor was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Initially we forgot to book a place in the hotel car park. I had to call later - this was organised without any problems.
Review 4:Air conditioning did not really work. Wifi did not work at all - speed so slow could not log into anything before disconnecting, also time limited to 4 hours for free. Not worth paying to connect for 12 hours. We paid for Junior suite - curtains falling off rails - dreadful decor. Outdoor furniture missing cushions. Limited shops & restaurants nearby. Stay somewhere else until this is renovated & the area is developed further.
Review 5:Not much really - poor value for money compared to other places.
Review 6:30 minutes walk from town center and there are no taxi's.However just 5 minutes walk from the beach & there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.
Review 7:The room had a fridge. We paid extra for the balcony, but worth it. Separate toilet & bathroom. Great buffet breakfast. Nice roof top bar.
Review 8:We got 2 rooms, one if it in the last floor... it was a nice room, but the noise at night from the bar in the roof was not appreciated at all :-(
Review 9:Very friendly staff! A very interesting breakfast (not the kind of "luxurious", but the "little details that makes the difference" are really nice to start the day...)
Review 10:Driving distance from city center, so if you want to explore the city you might need a car (not sure if public transport runs in this area).
Review 11:Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms, a plentiful breakfast (for French hotels and the price). Staff was very helpful. Located relatively close to a very nice sandy beach. The area also has restaurants, child playgrounds, stores and pharmacy.
Review 12:The area was very basic. Very few bars or restaurants. Very long walk back into main resort
Review 13:Bed was great plus room had a balcony the receptionist particularly helpful
Review 14:I wish the rooftop was open earlier in the day rather than from 4pm, and I didn't like having to re-log into the wifi all the time.
Review 15:This was my second time to Sete, and returned to Imperial Hotel mainly because the staff are so lovely and the location between the town and beach.
Review 16:After 18hr the bus isn't frequent. Last bus back at 20:30.
Review 17:Not to far from the beach. Bus to downtown Sete stops in front of the hotel. Three different formulas for breakfast suits everybody.
Review 18:Nice suburbia like location. Quiet area at night, while buzzing with traffic at day. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Several restaurants across the street. Short walk to beach.
Review 19:The rooms were recently refurbished, very clean, good air con and very comfortable. I found the staff very friendly and extremely helpful. The position of the hotel was excellent, 200 metres from the beach and 20 metres from the nearest bus stop into the town centre. I would recommend this hotel.
Review 20:noisy late into the evening / night/morning. noisy road junction directly outside bedroom window. bar directly beneath bedroom. noisy bin men at 7 am outside bedroom window. staff / cleaner wearing noisy hard shoes at 5/6 am below bedroom.
Review 21:close to town centre.
Review 22:The toilet in the room we had was too small and it was difficult to close the door I did inform the owner and made a suggestion as to how it could be changed That did not stop it from being an excellent hotel
Review 23:Very friendly and helpful staff Very well decorated and up to date Will stay there again
Review 24:The great suite is on the street side but it is really a small minus compared to the beauty of the room.
Review 25:Great hotel located in the heart of La Corniche. I was upgraded to the suite with sea view and I felt like an emperor. Huge sun terrace, huge bedroom, bathroom with tub and shower, bathed by morning sun.
Review 26:Parking must be reserved in advance - which I did - but even so the Carpark is narrow and awkward to get into.
Review 27:Friendly reception staff, and nice room for 3 star hotel. I didn't eat there, so cannot comment on the food. I would stay there again, and would recommend it to others.
Review 28:Rude management that lies. Room like a sauna, fridge melted,no power over14hours! Gave 16 euros refund yet room unusable! Told the owners to hirea generator in morning. Did so 12 hours later.Horrible staff. Worstservice in 30years of travel.DONT Stay here!
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:If you want to be in central Sete it's a bit of a walk. Don't know why you need a review of more than 200 characters if you want to ensure that people fully respond.
Review 31:Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice rooftop panoramic bar. Good, clean rooms.
Review 32:Everything was wrong with this place - starting with the fact that the reception could not recommend a breakfast place close by, small, noisy and uncomfortable rooms. Location is a disaster, as it is the village. DO NOT GO THERE
Review 33:May be the roof top bar was the only positive experience
Review 34:Parking can be an issue. We managed to get a roadside spot but it was August and the jousting festival was on so Sete was very busy.
Review 35:A nice small hotel near the beach.Staff were very friendly and the room was nice enough considering it was their last one but it was good value for money. The roof top bar was lovely. It is about 1km out of the city centre but there are some nice restaurants within a few minutes walk.We didn't have the breakfast. We chose to have breakfast in the morning sun in a cafe over the road. It's a nice walk along the Promenade which starts near the hotel.
Review 36:The double bed was two singles put together, but it was huge and very comfortable.
Review 37:Spacious rooms with a balcony over looking the square where everything happens. There was a fridge so we could chill drinks. The beach was a few minutes walk away, there were plenty of restaurants nearby too.The walk in the town centre was about twenty minutes along the coast. The staff were very helpful.
Review 38:None
Review 39:Great hotel on a superb location. Beach is less than 5 min away. Opposite the square with many restaurants and cafés to choose.Fresh fruit and veg stall, shops, pharmacy, bakery, liquor store and everything you need it's just there. 20-25 min walk to the centre of Sete if you fancy more restaurants and shops. The bus stop outside the hotel will take you to the city centre in 5-10 min (Bus No3 and No9) and bring you back. The hotel is very lovely and the staff is very friendly and fully accommodating. We stayed in the room 216, with a view to the sea. The room is a quadruple so had two rooms, bath and wc separate. Air conditioner and mini fridge. We had fresh bed every night, well impressed. Rooms were not only cleaned daily but freshened up as well with room sprays. There is a really nice Panoramic bar on the 4th floor with awsome views and delicious cocktails prepared by a lovely David and his right hand Mac. Emma and Mike the hotel managers were ready to help instantly if you needed anything done or organised. Reception guy Zack, what a wonderful man, helped so much with everything as well. I had serious back problems during my stay and the hotel staff organised me a Chiropracter which didn't charge a penny. I would say that staying in the Imperial hotel gives you the impression that you staying with your friends. Couldn't fault a single thing. Will be back next year.
Review 40:Delightful front desk staff member who welcomed us and also gave good advice about local restaurants. Pleasant atmosphere.
Review 41:Staff were very helpful. Rooms were comfortable.
Review 42:Convenient for the beach, good parking on site & nearby, very clean & modern rooms. Very polite & helpful staff
Review 43:- Helpful and gentle staff. - Buffet breakfast quite good.
Review 44:Friendly reception. Good quality breakfast.
Review 45:Location is quite distance from sete centre. Selection of restaurants by the hotel not very good
Review 46:Friendly and helpful staff with good facilities
Review 47:Nothing
Review 48:Everything Nothing
Review 49:Bit of a walk into town
Review 50:Staff decor and location to beach
Review 51:Les coussins La Tv
Review 52:Situation Bar panoramique
Review 53:Tiny Elevator. Not suitable for bigger child buggys
Review 54:Very friendly staff
Review 55:Bathroom, poor shower left water all over the floor
Review 56:Roof top bar, simple accommodation but everything you needed was within walking distance.
Review 57:Great hotel, clean and modern and the staff were friendly. We were sad to leave.
Review 58:Great hotel for those on shoestring. Rooftop bar is great!!!
Review 59:Near the sea, the boulangerie, rotisserie and great restaurant and a market - what's not to love?!
Review 60:friendly helpful staff
Review 61:Shower screen was awful. All four of us had a shower and each time the bathroom floor was flooded!
Review 62:Wifi was slow if anything
Review 63:Close to the beach. Very helpful & friendly staff. Roof terrace.
Review 64:Wifi was down.
Review 65:Location & breakfast
Review 66:Reasonably far from old town Sete.
Review 67:Staff were helpful and friendly. Good location for beach and a few eateries close by
Review 68:Clean & friendly & value for money
Review 69:leaving
Review 70:walking distance from the beach
Review 71:Great location, near the beach and public transport. Great breakfast.
Review 72:Limited parking space
Review 73:Staff really nice and helpful
Review 74:The service was so good !
Review 75:right between the beach and the town centre. nice rooftop lounge/bar. lovely staff.
Review 76:Rooms were a bit cramped, and wifi kept cutting out.
Review 77:Great rooftop bar and location for the daytime Worldwide festival on the beach
Review 78:all of it
Review 79:Room. But to be fair it is a 3 star
Review 80:Staff were great!!
Review 81:We had a room towards the main street. Noisy traffic, noisy manhole cover right outside the room was very annoying. Night staff ignorant.
Review 82:The standard is satisfactory. Morning staff very nice.
Review 83:It was a bit noisy in the front room and the balcony was tiny We changed from back room because we wanted sun on the balcony morning and late afternoon as the back room never got the sun
Review 84:It was on the bus route into town cafés nearby Nice coast road walk into town
Review 85:Walls thin. quite a bit of noise from road (on first floor). No tea or coffee making facilities in room. The large "double bed" option on booking was just two single beds pushed together which moved apart. The roof terrace, the selling point of property on here, wasn't open.
Review 86:Clean, modern refitted bathroom and rooms. Room had a fridge available for use. Easy and pleasant 15 min walk into Sete along coast. Close to local shops, cafe and beach.
Review 87:Even though the hotel is close from the road, the room was not noisy. Besides, the beds are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and willing to provide any support.
Review 88:The teething troubles were understandable and should not detract. Otherwise the look room was a bit small, and the shower floor was VERY slippery and does need sorting before someone falls.
Review 89:Unfair to comment much as the refurbishment had just finished and we were on the first day open. There only seemed to be three couples staying, so it was very quiet, and the room had strong wiff of fresh paint. There were curtain tracks but no curtains which made the room seem and sound bare _ we presume they hadn't got round to putting them up. All these things were a result of newly opened _ we are sure things will be fine. Good location, and having the shower room separate from the look was good, and having both of these through a door from the room was really good. THe breakfasts were super
Review 90:Location was better for summer than the end of october when we were there but that's why it was so inexpensive and we didn't mind the walk considering how nice the hotel was!
Review 91:Great staff, lovely room. This must be more expensive during the summer because it's right near the beach, but about 20 or 30 minutes to walk to the center of town. There are a few stores nearby but not much - though many might have been closed for the season. But the bus stop is right outside so we took the bus to and from the train station with our luggage, and walked into town the other times when we had nothing to carry. Really nice breakfast buffet and quite friendly and helpful staff.
Review 92:Noise from the roof terrace bar Fri/Sat. Not loud but reverberated well into the night and could not sleep.
Review 93:Convenient, away from the busyness of Sete, handy for restaurants, food shops, beach, which are minutes away. Helpful staff.
Review 94:location right on a very busy main road and nowhere near the beach. Balcony door did not shut so had to ask for it to be looked at in order that we could use the air con as very very hot. This done but then no way of re shutting if we opened it. Coffee at breakfast was ghastly and no excuse in France to have very poor coffee in the morning.
Review 95:useful having roof top bar but not pounding music on return from evening out.
Review 96:We were on a cycle trip making for the Canal du Midi & Sete was our first night on the outward trip. We liked the place (Sete) so much that we booked an extra night for our return journey. When we reached our final destination (Carcassonne) we decided not to return by bike & contacted the Hotel Imperial to see if they could accommodate us, which they did, having a double room with spare bed, for 2nights, then moving us into a triple room for the remaining 3. We had an excellent stay with helpful staff.
Review 97:On fairly busy road out of Sete. Limited choice of eating places unless you go back in tonSete centre which is about 2 km away.
Review 98:Family room really spacious and lovely balcony. Double bed and 2 single beds separated well. Breakfast excellent and good air con in the room.
Review 99:The room was small for 2 persons and the bathroom was ridiculously small.
Review 100:The room was not located towards the street and there was a ( very small) parking. Staff was friendly.
Review 101:Simple yet comfortable hotel. Large comfortable beds, with good pillows! Well lit and fairly quiet. Facilities were basic but clean and well managed. A good hotel, with friendly staff that wont break the budget!
Review 102:Very clean and welcoming hotel. Modern and comfortable design. A mile long walk to 'down-town' Sete runs along a delightful coastal promenade. (Plenty of buses but we preferred the walk). Being slightly outside of Sete made for easier parking!
Review 103:We could not find fault with anything
Review 104:The staff were terrific - very helpful and professional. The day after we were leaving, they were opening a roof garden. We were invited to have a look round - it was beautifully arranged and the views were breathtaking - the sea on three sides and properties built into the hillside on the other.
Review 105:The location. The cleanliness. The helpful and friendly staff.Near beach and good restaurants ,in particular,Le Petit Bistrot, which has great food at a great price.
Review 106:No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms- all uk visitors expect this now.
Review 107:Very friendly new owners who are trying to make the Hotel much improved from of old (we were there 4 yrs ago) and it is now brighter and fresher. Very personal touch.
Review 108:The area is very built up and full of concrete apartment blocks , not what we really expected when we booked. The room did have a sea view but a little distant.
Review 109:The breakfast and the owner. The owner was really friendly and breakfast plentiful
Review 110:No real dislikes, but there were a few finishing touches still to do in the refurbishment programme and the hotel parking is a bit limited
Review 111:The staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. The hotel was good value for money and the breakfast was good. It is well located for beaches and there are several good restaurants within walking distance. It is a short ride into the center of Sete.
Review 112:The narrow doorway to the WC in our en-suite.
Review 113:Friendly and helpful staff. The Hotel had recently changed ownership and we found works going on to improve decor etc, this did not affect our stay, our room had been done and was well appointed for the Hotel type. Breakfast good but a little expensive. We found 3 restaurants within 3 mins walk, however the main town centre is a 20 min walk away.
Review 114:We were totally spoilt by the lovely new owners Michael and Emmanuelle! They have recently taken over management and were renovating at the time of our check-in, which was for four nights over the shoulder season. Our first night was in a very nice balcony room but because of some work that had been done during the renovation, our TV and wifi didn't work too well...our hosts decided to move us to another room for the rest of our stay...to the luxury suite, one of the nicest hotel rooms that i have ever had the pleasure of staying in! It really made our 4 night stay in Sete! Huge room and very tastefully furnished, with a huge balcony overlooking the Mediteranean. The hotel has been decked out in some amazing artwork and I think once the renovations are complete it will be outstanding! The lounge/bar on the lobby level is beautifully appointed with big leather lounges and very comfortable to while away an afternoon with friends or catching up on emails over a couple of cold beers, whilst enjoying the many aboriginal artworks that tastefully adorn the walls. The location is great...bus into the centre of Sete at the door,a great range of restaurants and convenience shops across the street and the beach a 2 minute walk.I am looking forward to staying there next time I'm in Southern France. Our hosts were truely fantastic and made sure that every aspect of our stay was just right!
Review 115:Perfect location Helpful, freindly staff Very nice rooms Great breakfast
Review 116:I enjoyed the location...with a holiday spirit, quiet neighborhood, a bit out of the town center
Review 117:Great place and great staff in a lovely place!
Review 118:Great place and great staff in a lovely town!
Review 119:Staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Location was great. Room immaculate. Facilities right up to date. Breakfast excellent.
Review 120:A bit far from city center.
Review 121:Newly refurbished and nicely decorated.
