Reviews for Pension Livadaros

Review 1:Anna and family are lovely, helpful and kind. The location is a 15 minute walk into town but nice to walk each day. Breakfast is amazing and the pool area is beautiful!!

Review 2:Despite paying £385 for one week, we were horrified to discover that there virtually no self catering facilities. An electric kettle and a sandwich toaster, that was it. No cooker, no microwave, not even the basic portable hotplate which used to be the "norm" in even the most basic of accommodation in the "old days" in Greece. We would have been grateful for even one of those - we couldn't even boil an egg which is what we always have when on holiday together with orange juice, cold meats and cheeses, tomatoes and fresh bread and butter. There was a weird assortment of dinner plates and various little dishes in the kitchen cupboard (!) plus just 3 desertspoons, one small wooden spoon (?) and a salt spoon - a fraction of the size of a teaspoon,oh, and a curved blade grapefruit knife. That was it - no forks, no knives. For what we had paid for this accommodation we expected a far better standard than this and it took the edge off our holiday. I strongly suspect that this may have had something to do with the fact that for an additional 5 euros each per day the owner served yoghurt and eggs for breakfast. Neither of us likes yoghurt and we always choose to make our own breakfast as described above. This lack of provision of even basic catering facilities is so unusual for Greek hosts who are normally so hospitable and bend over backwards to see that all is well. It really inconvenienced us especially as my husband, who is disabled, had a fall on our first day and broke a bone in his foot - I really could have done with the facilities to prepare a few modest meals instead of going out all the time, but there wasn't even a knife and fork to eat with. The washing-up sponge looked like it had been in use for the entire season and sat on a really grubby white dish. The "cutlery" drainer containing the meagre provision described was also dirty.

Review 3:Initial impression was very good as the entire grounds have been designed in a typical Santorinian "volcanic" garden and are very attractive. The pool area was excellent but unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to use these facilities as it was not very warm whilst we were there. We had a reasonably private little terrace area outside the apartment but it was in a very shaded corner with no view. Inside the apartment, the main living area/first bedroom was attractive enough as was the second bedroom. The bathroom was lovely and had recently been refurbished. We always had plenty of towels.

Review 4:The family that owns the hotel is very nice, they take care of the guests, explain everything you need to know about the island, clean the rooms every day. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, with nice pool and garden and near the main city Fira. I highly recommend this place.

Review 5:"This beautiful family" could not have been more accommodating and helpful. We were met at the airport, were supplied with everything we needed including beach towels, blow dryers, booking ATV's, given directions! The pool was beautiful, inviting and refreshing with very comfortable, resort-like furnishings. It was nice to be away from the bustle of Fira.

Review 6:Breakfast was disgusting (only 1 sandwich for 2 persons and without ham, frozen donuts, "clinex" for orange juice, last year's butter, rotten watermelon, dirty knives and forks), there wasn't warm water in the shower, wet sheets on the bed, cleaning service didn't work everyday, broken balcony door, very expensive for additional services, the staff was rude and you couldn't find them when you needed them, dirty sheets and towels, very loudly

Review 7:Almost nothing!

Review 8:I have been on my Europe tour for a month and a half now and pension livadaros has definitely been the best so far with both the accommodation and the staff! On arrival the lady helped us with our luggage up the stairs and gave us information on everything that we wanted and needed to know and insisted on helping us book everything that we needed. She arranged a whole day tour for us and quad bikes ready for us in the morning and showed us everything on the map and helped us with directions. The father dropped us to our tour with plenty of time and a smile on his face. The family running this pension are all so lovely and helpful and even extended that kindness after we had left and got on a boat back to Athens only to realise I had left my passport in the rooms bed side table drawer! After calling the daughter arranged for my passport to be put on the next ferry to Athens so that I was able to make my flight the next morning. She was an absolute lifesaver and I'm forever grateful. Trust me you won't be disappointed if you stay here this is the first and only accommodation that I've ever left a review for. Highly recommended!

Review 9:Great service for our two night stay. They offered us a free lift from the port and they were there as we arrived. They gave us advice on where to hire quad bikes and day trips and also offered assistance with rental. Run by a great family. Will recommend to anyone :)

Review 10:Room was far to hot. had aircon but didnt seem to work properly

Review 11:Picked us up from the airport which was great and the next day gave us a lift to akrotiri for cheaper then a taxi

Review 12:Amazing room, very friendly owners. Felt more like being hosted by a family rather than renting a room in a hotel. Nice area, safe location and very easy to go to Fira even on foot.

Review 13:Breakfast not great but ok value for 5euro. Would like varied fruit and yogurt and less bread products. Not good coffee. Room small and could use more amenities to put suitcase and store clothes. Nice pool area but one morning people were sleeping on most of the lounge chairs.

Review 14:Very nice and helpful staff. Free parking. Very safe. Great bathroom.

Review 15:We loved Pension Livadarod! We added an extra night to our Santorini stay and moved hotels to here. They were very accommodating and allowed us to store our bags and got us into our room earlier than expected. The rooms are wonderful and for the same cost per night at our last hotel, we received a much, much nicer room and hotel. The facilities are new, modern and clean. While Livadaros is a little further away (10 minutes walk to the bus) if we had know about it we would have stayed here our entire visit! Well worth being a little further away! We would stay here again!

Review 16:The location could have been closer to the tourist stuff, but the family hooked us up with some wicked quad place and gave us a great deal! Even dropped off the quads and picked them up right at the hotel... All in all amazing!

Review 17:It was a family run place and they made all of us feel like we were part of the family! George (I think was the dad) was awesome stopped every day to ask us how we were doing and even helped us learn some Greek words! The whole family was just amazing!

Review 18:The wifi was a bit hit and miss but it was like that all through Greece so not a massive issue

Review 19:The staff were fantastic! Offering plenty of advice for things to do in the area, helping with transport rentals, excursions and free transport to port or airport

Review 20:wifi wasn't the best. they charge €15 for transfer to the airport which is a ridiculous amount. you can get the bus for €1.60 and it takes literally 5 minutes.

Review 21:the pool area was good and always available sun loungers. The rooms were cleaned everyday, nicely decorated, fridge in room and clean towels provided daily. excellent bakery on the main road and a supermarket next door. 20 minute walk to fira. free pick up from airport, we arrived at 7am and they allowed us to check in early.

Review 22:The bed was very hard and not very comfortable. Also it's good to know that it's about 30min walk from Fira which I enjoyed each day but it can be a bit of a pain

Review 23:Nice little place with helpful staff and a great pool. Good air con and wifi.

Review 24:Sometimes smell from the bathroom. Closest ATM is in Fira (just so you know).

Review 25:Free pick-up at port and free drop-off at airport!! Pool. Nice rooms. Location is OK but not perfekt. 5 min walk to bus-stop (busses everywhere). Or 20 min walk to Fira.

Review 26:The hosts are amazing, we were a group of young girls and George the owner honestly looked out for us at all times. The accomodation is clean and tidy and very easy to get around from. We recommend renting out the ATV's which George will help you rent out. They allow you to view the whole Island very easily.

Review 27:1.No hair dryer in the room. 2.No prepared quilt on the bed. 3.A little noise happening at midnight.

Review 28:The house we stayed is very big and newly-decorated though we are only two ppl traveling. And the swimming pool is good, too. The host-Josh is nice and friendly,he picked us up personally in the airport at midnight. And generously drove us back to the airport when we found sth lost in the front of it AT 01:00 am.They provided travel information we need.

Review 29:The owners are very nice, room is big & very clean, very nice ambiance, interiors and design of sorroundings are beautiful. Mr. George the owner is very kind for fetching us from and to the airport. I definately going to stay here whenever i'll be able to go back again for vacation.

Review 30:There is a need to fix the door lock of some of the rooms. Perhaps, the owners are aware of this and that they will attend to this concern after its general renovation.

Review 31:I like my room, except that the owners should have provided shampoos and soap for the guests. These things are considered standard.

Review 32:- hot water not hot enough in Winter - the location is quite "deep inside" the residential area. Though it's walkable distance to Fira, the location of the hotel is quite hard to find. I got lost few times when finding the particular building. - Seems Not very safe for single female to go out or come back by herself during night time on foot as totally dark without any lights in that specific area.

Review 33:+ walkable distance to Fira (15-25mins) + the owner George is pretty nice, he stopped by a mountain top to show me the beautiful Aegean Sea as well as the volcano when, also he helped me to tAke pic. + pick me up & drop me off from/to the ferry port with a relatively better deal€10/way (I heard generally taxi charges €18-20/way).

Review 34:Dont book this hotel. Room and bathroom were old and very durty. No wifi, there wasn't signal at all. Bad location, far from everything, had to walk a long way just to get in the city. The water in the shower was really cold and it is winter now, so impossible to take a shower. Other pensions and hotels in the area with similar price are much better, we looked.

Review 35:- Good value of money - Super friendly and supportive owners. They helped me and my friends a lot when we stayed there - Beautiful resort reminding of the sea with its blue color and interiors

Review 36:The location was good for exploring the island but close to popular Fira which is a very expensive place to stay, making this pension extremely good value. Good views from our balcony. The room (not large but large enough) was recently refurbished so top notch. Mosquito net over the bed. The on suite too was lovely. The breakfast was continental but lots of it. The family that own it are very nice and nothing is too much trouble. We had free transfer from and to the ferry port. We knew there was a communal kitchen so we took our own tea and coffee bags, bought some milk from the local shop just up the road and were able to go down and make ourselves a drink at any time. The pool and area were clean at all times. Nice place to have breakfast. All in all, very good accommodation with lots of garden around it. We definately would use again if we go back to Santorini.

Review 37:Accommodation was off a communal lounge area. Room was awful, small and dark. Shower was tiny and also dark and dingy.

Review 38:Picked up from airport after a 30 min wait. Nice swimming pool and surrounds

Review 39:They keep your passport for the length of your stay, which I did not feel safe about. Also, because it is family run, you can't always get the staff (e.g they might be taking a nap or out to the store). So you will have to ensure that you get things sorted (e.g booking a cab) well in advance, when they are around. Overall though, these were just small inconveniences worth enduring for the friendliness and cosy environment.

Review 40:Very friendly owners who are knowledgeable about Santorini and can answer tourists' questions well. Even though I arrived very early, at 6.30am, they arranged things so I could check in then and have a good rest before the day's travel. A fairly good breakfast was served for €5. Very clean rooms with adequate space for drying clothes and a beautiful poolside.

Review 41:I liked the hosts, they were helpful and friendly and take pride in their business. I liked that it was away from the cities. But I also like walking, if you don't like a good walk if choose another location. But they do have mopeds for hire.

Review 42:We didn´t have hot water for half a day and wifi connection was not perfect all the time, but these were really minor things.

Review 43:Location was good, near to shops, bakeries, bus stop and Thira. As it was a bit out of town, it was quiet in nighttime. Owners were very friendly and helpful, pool area and garden were extremely nice.

Review 44:Beds were a bit thin and hard but a small price top pay for this quiet Greek oasis.

Review 45:Kartederos is close to Fira for sightseeing or beach but far enough to be a quiet escape. This family run hotel is great and the pool is awesome. Great family option.

Review 46:nothing was really good

Review 47:Lovely friendly people, Breakfast service was fantastic and they make sure you have plenty. Pick up drop off even at 130am at the port. The pool you can swim in till 11pm which is fab on hot nights. We had the stand alone unit, a must it was like its own oasis. A definite for us if we go back there

Review 48:Very nice family business, clean and georgeous room, extremely helpful staff, excellent breakfast, within walking distance from Fira, and without all the mess and noice of the city.

Review 49:Poor range of Wi-Fi

Review 50:Friendly, helpful stuff, charming rooms and surroundings. Very nice swimming pool area. One of the nicest place, we have ever visited in Greece.

Review 51:Maybe a better wifi :)

Review 52:We loved everything at this pension! The best thing about it was the family that runs this business, they were very kind and helpful! They picked us up from the airport and we could do what we wanted there no one told us anything. It was like being home:) Every day they cleaned our room and we could serve our breakfast wherever we wanted(room, pool, terrace). We rented an ATV through the pension and also went on a trip with their help. The thing is that they can help you with everything just from the pension, you do not have to worry about nothing. The pool area is very relaxing and clean. We also had a kitchen that we could use if we wanted. The stores and restaurants are close. If I were to return to Santorini I would definetely go back to Livadaros, the quality-price report is very very good!

Review 53:Quiet place, very well connected with Fira and not far from Oia. The pension is run by a very hospitable family who make sure at all time you have a blast at their place. In karterados there are nice tavernas where you can enjoy tasteful and home-made food at very affordable prizes, compared to other more touristic places in the island. Absolutely recommendable!

Review 54:First: When we arrived they said they had sent us an e-mail so they could pick us up. No e-mail has arrived. Second: The photos of the room and bathroom on booking looked nice. In real nothing looked like that. Our bathroom looked like it was built in 1972. Third: don't put anything in the floor. Our feet were grey of dirt when walking on the floor. Fourth: When trying to discuss the above with the manager, she only referred to the daughter that we never saw. This family only tries to make as much money as possible which they unfortunatly are good at...

Review 55:Leaving the hotel

Review 56:They forgot to pick us up from the airport although we have informed them a week before going, the girl insisted we should inform them again a day before flying and her attitude was irritating, by saying 'so what do you want now??' when we came cross this. However, the other staffs are really nice and kind.

Review 57:Friendly & helpful staff. Very clean in general. Great facilities and nice breakfast.

Review 58:The rooms were old and need of renovation. No poolbar and few restaruants in the area.

Review 59:Perfect with transport from port and airport. Very friendly staff, god breakfast and very clean rooms.

Review 60:WiFi was good but sometimes was disconnecting, maybe because was very windy outside.

Review 61:We stayed there for 9 days and i wish we could stay more! Its a family owned hotel.Mrs Barbara and her family(Maria,Anna and George) are great people! They are very polite and their hospitality is more than i expected. They are always willing to help you and make you feel like home!Barbara put all her effort to have special romantic moments with my girlfriend and be fully satisfied. Hotel is very beautiful and romantic, decorated with pebbles and volcano stones.Pool is very beautiful and you can view the sunset from there.Rooms are well decorated too and are cleaned every day by the family. The location is very good, only 5 minutes with the car from Fira center and 10-15 by foot. Its the best value for money you can find and worth every penny!!! If i visit Santorini again, i will DEFINITELY stay with Livadaros family!!

Review 62:Wifi could use some work. Other than that no complaints.

Review 63:Extremely friendly staff that went out of the way to make you feel at home. Good location close to Fira but a motorcycle or atv rental is recommended to get around. Large rooms and very clean. Amazing swimming pool and free pick up to and from the port

Review 64:Super kind Super Clean Thank you Barbara!!! :D

Review 65:Probably one of the best value for money I've had.

Review 66:Location was perfect. Within walking distance to busy Thira and surrounds but far enough away to enjoy peace, pool and fantastic staff.

Review 67:Sometimes it was difficult to locate the owners/staff at the hotel for assistance

Review 68:It had a really nice pool

Review 69:No shampoo in the bath.

Review 70:Close to bus station, also walking distance from Fira. Frinendly staff. Pleasant area around the swimming pool. Beatuful view.

Review 71:1.Far away from local bus stop. 2.booked for two single bed, They provided room with one Double bed. 3.Book Hotel near Fira only

Review 72:large swimming pool, very beautiful area of the hotel, nice room. All is clean! The staff are excellent! Recommended for the relaxation.

Review 73:Internet very slow and not always working

Review 74:Very Nice service

Review 75:Room wasn't very clean and there was no shower liner.

Review 76:Pool was great

Review 77:Cleanliness , cold water , damaged electricity plugs .

Review 85:The swimming pool is nice and the staffs are very friendly.

Review 86:Highly recommend this quite, friendly place..everything was perfect..

Review 87:The owner very nice and helpful. They offer free transfer from airport.

Review 88:None

Review 89:Accommodating staff. Swimming Pool Parking

Review 90:Not much

Review 91:Free ride from/to the airport early in the morning(5:30am) Nice double room with a seperated bathroom only for me Hot water for shower

Review 92:I really enjoyed my stay here (6 nights). The staff were incredibly friendly. The price is exceptional for the location. It had the comfort of home.

Review 93:very nice and helpful staff, big swimmingbool, free transfere from airport and drive to the old port, not far from Thira, about 20 minutes on foot

Review 94:toilet. reception. location

Review 95:pool. staff

Review 96:We loved the price and that the hotel offered shuttle service free of charge. Good breakfast and nice pool area.

Review 97:Nice place

Review 98:- a very small shower base (nothing that the nice and friendly owners can do at the moment) - Breakfast (not included) and the one that a visitor has to pay for is so-so

Review 99:- Nice owners - Good room - Excellent location on the island for visitors with cars

Review 100:Quiet relaxing parts of the island but within travelling distance in Santorini town. You must also see the views from the upper part of town over looking the bay and old city.

Review 101:Linens needs to be update, too old scruffy, bed close to the noisy fridge and for three days we won't able to sleep until we decide to go without fridge and unplugged it, Wi-Fi a disaster, breakfast is ok will be much better if some veggie or fruit mixed, the juice they are provided was terrible.

Review 102:Being picked up and dropped off to the port

Review 103:The room was a lot smaller than we would have liked, if it wast for the balcony we would have felt claustrophobic. The wifi connection isn't good at all, the only time I had 1 bar of service was after midnight or before 8:00am. The shower was also very small and uncomfortable.

Review 104:The family that ownes Livadaros instantly makes you feel like family. They are there any time you need them and always willing to help. The location was also perfect, since it's right outside the main town. Pool area was a perfect spot for after a long beach day.

Review 105:The room reserved for us was tiny and had no storage spaces, which made our accommodation a bit uncomfortable for that matter.

Review 106:Pension Livadaros is a family run pension, as proved by each and every detail. The family cared much in informing us about Santorini, providing us with useful maps, time schedules, home devices whenever needed, and always eager to assist us with car rentals and trips around the island and the volcano. The area of the swimming pool is beautiful, viewing the east side of Santorini. The pension is situated in a peaceful location, within ten minutes on foot from the nearest bus station to all destinations. We felt really welcome and cosy!

Review 107:Pension Livadros is a family run establishment. The Family was wonderful. They were helpful in every aspect of our stay, they were great in informing us about the best places to go, they picked us up and dropped us off at the port, they helped us organize excursions and were generally very responsive to all of our needs. The actual place is situated in what seems to be a traditional style villa, with many rooms and a very nice pool (for when you get back from the beach)

Review 108:The best part was after arriving 4am in the morning due to transportation delays we were greeted with the most warm smile and friendliness that made us all at ease after a most trying day! This place was great. You could not of asked for more friendly staff. They went way above and beyond what was expected. The breakfast were wonderful served poolside. Would definantly revisit.

Review 109:The toilet was a bit smelly sometimes. Some problems with the flash and also small bathroom.

Review 110:The people were very friendly and very happy to help you with whatever was needed. Perfect hosts. Also the location was really suitable, 5 min from Fyra in a quiet place next to bakeries and some mini markets. Great Value for money

Review 111:The staff were very friendly, they collected us from the port and were very welcoming. The room was clean and the pool area was great! Nice big pool that was well maintained. Short walk to the bus stop or walk right into Fira. The owners also arranged a scooter for us.

Review 112:Friendly Atmoshere, staff was wonderful

Review 113:Beds could be more comfortable

Review 114:Excellent value for money, the best pool in Karterados

Review 115:Nice and gentle staff (the family Livadaros) in a relaxing place where you can be one treated as part of family.
