Reviews for Days Inn Maidstone
Review 1:The upgrade to the room we had was super - we have stayed a number of times and found it a little tired, but the work undertaken has been well done and a success. Well done, Days Inn.
Review 2:Didnt think coffee machine should replace a kettle! Also, the noise of the sliding door at reception kept me awake most of the night. Perhaps that room shouldnt be used for guests
Review 3:Nice rooms both times, clean. Comfy beds, spacious room. Big tv.Efficient staff, booking was easy
Review 4:Room was very cold, and very, very noisy. Alot of children who were screaming most of the time. Alot of noise from outside. Very little sleep. Nowhere to walk dog.
Review 5:Staff on desk were pleasant.
Review 6:Could hear people outside our rooms and next door. Strong smell of pot in the corridor on the first night, despite this being a non-smoking hotel.
Review 7:Good location just off the motorway to visit family and friends. Good space in the room and useful amenities.
Review 8:There was nothing that we didn't like everything was at hand .
Review 9:As first time staying at the day inn we found it very easy and quick to check in and starf was friendly. We found all the facility's that we needed in the room wich was excellent value for money ??
Review 10:Water in shower and bath too hot couldn't get it cooler Liked having coffee maker but very noisy so felt later on like not using it for a cuppa as didn't want to annoy neighbours
Review 11:Shower bath couldn't get cool water very hot which is unusual
Review 12:No facilities! No wifi in room which was stated! A fridge would've been handy! Had to ask all the time for tea/sweetner /milk top ups as never given otherwise! Food in services next door was absolutely disgusting and extortionatly priced! A fridge would've meant cereal and sandwiches could've been made by myself for the kids at least!
Review 13:Nice and clean and comfortable, maids turned room around lovely every day
Review 14:Claims to have free wifi but we couldn't access it. At reception they said they only have a basic router. It does not reach the rooms unless you are in one close to reception. And even then the receptionist said she could not always get wifi in reception area.
Review 15:Tidy adequate room.
Review 16:The occasional passing lorry and regular train noise does have an impact, as the rest of the time it is very quiet. Although the offer of breakfast for £7.50 sounds very good, it actually buys you a £10 voucher towards the cost of breakfast inside the service station, which is not that good. I would not have breakfast here again.
Review 17:Location, cleanliness and the late check out of 12:00 was very good. I would stay at this hotel again, but without breakfast.
Review 18:Basic at high price. Breakfast facilities in local services, noisy and queues. This would be OK if the price was budget.
Review 19:Easy to access from the M20 motorway.
Review 20:They had no booking information for us from booking.com. This happened the last time as well. Staff at days inn said they had a few rooms reserved due to this happening before, therefore we were able to have a room provided.
Review 21:Convenient for travel from channel tunnel
Review 22:shower tap broken, no biscuits
Review 23:booked online, cheap, clean, coffee, loads of free parking, good on site facilities (3rd party), straight on to motorway M20, free wi-fi
Review 24:Located on the motorway service station, unable to reach by foot without walking down the motorway. Pull out couch bed was as expected; very uncomfortable. Not 24hr reception
Review 25:Good value for money
Review 26:Bill from parking fine after we got back from holiday , despite advertised as free parking space and told by receptionist ok to park whete we did £50 !! Fine - still in dispute
Review 27:Friendly meeting despite early hours if morning
Review 28:Our double bed was really uncomfortable, which was surprising as usually they are very comfy in these types of hotel. None of us could get the wifi to work properly, but then we didn't bother to go and ask about it, just watched TV instead.
Review 29:Very convenient for early ferry in Dover. Very clean. Spacious room. The sofa bed had already been made up for us. Fab shower with lots of fluffy towels. Receptionist let us put some food in her fridge. We were able to buy beers from reception. Our children were very excited to have both dinner and breakfast in Macdonalds (next door).
Review 30:Door looked like it had been broken into and a replacement lock was poorly fitted and difficult to open. Had to ask reassurance that joining door was locked securely between rooms.
Review 31:Situated for a quick check in and out when on a road trip. Comfortable.
Review 32:Unless you are travelling using your own transport this hotel is not accessible by bus or train, unless you like walking. I had to get a taxi from the train station, which cost me £15 from Hollingbourne train station to the hotel. Also there are no taxis outside the train station, so if you do travel by train make sure you order your taxi in advance. I used Sapphire cars while staying at this hotel and they where on time and very accommodating.
Review 33:I could not fault the hotel. Very quiet at night, so had no problem sleeping. Beds very comfortable. Very clean. Everything worked in the room. Just the location.
Review 34:The hotel is at a motorway services, it doesn't have its own restaurant or bar so you need to eat at the (quite poor) MacDonalds or the generic restaurant. Very poorly ventilated. My room was on the upper floor and the day had been quite warm. The room was very hot, the window couldn't be opened more than a few cm and there is no air conditioning. Wifi is very slow. Worlds smallest TV.
Review 35:Good sized room, very clean with ample towels and a nice sized bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities. Free wifi. Cheerful staff. Very handy fo the M20. Reasonable rates.
Review 36:Noisey, and unless you had downloaded the ap it was impossible to complain about the noise unless you got up and got dressed and went to reception. We were woken 2 or 3 times through the night. The lock on the door had obviously been replaced, and not very well, I had to request help to get into room from cleaning staff as lock kept turning in the door.
Review 37:Easily accessible.
Review 38:nothing
Review 39:arrived late due to long journey from North of England but staff were ready and prepared for us and offered more tea/coffee if we needed it
Review 40:Staff rudeness upon arrival and a long waiting time to check in. Cleanliness off room greasy hand marks on walls and fire sign graffitied mould on mirror.
Review 41:No restaurant except motorway services. People smoking on fire escapes opening the door all night.
Review 42:Great location for getting back onto m20. Nice setting. Would use it again. Room was large.
Review 43:The easy access room for my father involved walking right to the end of a corridor through 3 heavy fire doors. The receptionist was unable to change room as she said it was not within her capability
Review 44:Nice rooms
Review 45:Although I booked online (& received an email confirm), when I arrived, the hotel had no record of my booking. Rather worrying as I'd booked well in advance. Receptionist said this was not uncommon ie, a problem with your website booking system. Needs to be sorted pronto.
Review 46:Convenient location & friendly staff.
Review 47:The location was ideal as we were going to watch our son play golf at Tudor Park so thought we would stay night before due to stacking of lorries on M20.
Review 48:Pull out sofa was not ready with bedding for kids. Smelled strong of paint from renovations.
Review 49:It was close to the highway for travel. Restaurant very close.
Review 50:I've marked down facilities as I received a parking fine notice of £100 2 weeks after my stay for parking outside the hotel for the night, despite doing everything required, and telling staff where I parked. I had to spend time and money to have the parking fine rescinded. This ruined the stay.
Review 51:Signage to hotel bad. Easy to miss entrance. No air conditioning of ANY sort. Leaving door open did not work as corridor hotter than rooms. Opening window let in noise from car park and motorway services. Reception not staffed during day. Second double bed uncomfortable.
Review 52:Friendly, but overworked staff.
Review 53:Probably chose the worst night of the year to stay due to it being very hot and humid weather, consequently the room was like an oven and sleeping was difficult. The windows don't open very far so you can't get much air movement on a still night.
Review 54:I didn't quite "get" the meal arrangements, and had a dinner of McDonalds instead of the Fish and Chips I wanted. The hotel is located right next to a rest stop, and meals are in the rest stop, not a hotel dining room. Once I figured that out, I was quite happy with my meal in the morning.
Review 55:Comfortable bed, awesome shower, clean room, friendly staff. The location was so convenient. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 56:I didn't feel very clean but I'm an o.c.d.c suffer so that my problem how ever we did stay in a primer inn the weekend b4 and I felt very clean there
Review 57:The staff was very friendly the location was great and we all slept really well
Review 58:Loads of sugar but not enough milk and coffee.
Review 59:Ease of booking and the hotel was comfortable with easy access to the channel tunnel. Also great because we were able to take our two year old, very friendly, Labrador.
Review 60:I feel I should share. Days Inn cafe/services have room service! We ordered £25 worth of food said it will be with us in 15 minutes. 1hour later. We decided to go across as me didn't have much time left before we had to check our and I was hungry! The person who received our order didn't put through! But much help by the lovely management he refunded it to us. It toke 15 minutes at lest to run a bath!! And the shower was just dripping out! As our visit was for leisure would of likes a bigger TV as you can't see it from sitting g on the bed or sofa!! :(
Review 61:Yet again what a lovely stay at days Inn, my husband and I have been a few times now. The staff are helpful friendly and laid back. It's a nice quite place so you can get the much needed rest. My husband asked if we could extend our check out time as we arrived late the night before, not only was it.extended but for free. The facilities are clean, bed is comfortable and there is a controlled heater in your rooms just generally a great deal for your money!
Review 62:Lovely room, loads of space, very modern and comfortable. Very reasonably priced drinks available at reception. A Services with WHSmiths, a restaurant, a Costa and a McDonalds next to it, but not noisy (also couldn't hear any road noise even though straight off Junction 8).
Review 63:Full English was cold with small portions for around £8 next door but as this restaurant didn't belong to Days Inn they are not to blame. Costa and McDonalds are better options for breakfast in the same mini food court.
Review 64:Family room was a good size and clean.
Review 65:Shame there is no bar at hotel or on wider services complex.
Review 66:Good basic hotel that was clean and did the job. Proximity to service station was good as 24 hour access to food which was good as I was leaving very early.
Review 67:The hotel was unfinished under restoration and we ended up in unfinished rooms but was told that bookings.com had offered rooms even though they should not have !
Review 68:Location
Review 69:The price of the facilities in offer at the M-Way services. Usual expensive stuff.
Review 70:The fact that when we left it was straight onto the M20 was a huge plus. Heading for Dover for the early ferry to France was the big attraction for this hotel. I would stop there again.
Review 71:Not a bad experience, but bed was very high and difficult to sit on. We were worried that the children might fall off.
Review 72:Everything was very comfortable and convenient, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Thank you - I will certainly stay here again the next time we come back to the UK!
Review 73:I have stayed here a few times recently for work. Proximity to Maidstone was good. Service area facilities open 24h. Rooms are basic but essentials are covered. The hotel is actually currently going through a full refurb so rooms may improve in the near future.
Review 74:Generally the place looked tired and the showerhead was not a pretty sight.
Review 75:Traveling from Merseyside it was a convenient stop for using the Channel Tunnel the next morning. Check in was plesent and efficient.
Review 76:Fire test going off at 7:30 am, then having a member of staff open our room door and about to walk in when we are still in bed at 9am to show someone around. No one at the front desk, a buzzer left there to call someone to it, but no one responded to it, I had to go searching for a member of staff.
Review 77:The bed was comfortable and the room was good for the price paid.
Review 78:The first room we tried reeked of smoke even though the rooms quite clearly stated 'no smoking'. The second room was clean but in poor repair - one lamp shade was broken and another light fitting was missing altogether. We were told a refurbishment of the establishment was about to start the next week!!
Review 79:The staff were very helpful and the location was very convenient.
Review 80:There was a refrigerated truck parked not too far from the property, which made a loud noise throughout the night. It was possible to get breakfast for two cheaper than the hotels advertised promotion.
Review 81:We were put in a room with toilet for disabled. The room was large and beds comfy. Wi-Fi was fine. This is a service station so there was food and snacks available at various eateries.
Review 82:Wifi was essential for me and apparently it had not been working for some weeks and none of the staff seemed at all concerned. Breakfast was across the road and although the staff there were friendly the food was congealed
Review 83:convenient for the tunnel
Review 84:Run down room ,mould on bathroom ceiling. Bed so uncomfortable and we'll used you can't help rolling together. 4 hours sleep if lucky.
Review 85:It is near the car shuttle train.drinks a reasonable price ie bottle of wine £7.99.
Review 86:A tired lodge in need of update, nevertheless its clean and quiet with easy parking
Review 87:Convenient stop with quick book in. Good price and I would use again
Review 88:Free Wi-Fi but you lose the will to live trying to connect! Eventually got connected. Although it was quite late when we arrived, we were a bit disappointed with the food available next door in the services. Only MacDonalds and Costa still open, so very restricted choice of hot food. To be fair this probably isn't the hotel's fault but maybe worth considering stopping somewhere on route if you want more than a burger or sandwich. Breakfast in the same services was fine though the next morning, as the third food outlet was open again.
Review 89:Needed to be somewhere the next day quite early, so decided to travel most of the way the day before. This hotel met all our needs perfectly from start to finish. The staff were friendly checking us in and we were quickly in our rooms. These were as we expected for a one night stay. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom warm and spacious with towels and the usual soap dispensers over sink and shower/bath and a box of tissues. Tea /coffee facilities were good with plenty of sachets and a decent kettle. Also there was a hairdryer and TV .
Review 90:The hot water in the bathroom was very hot and we didn't (couldn't) find a way to make it more pleasantly warm.
Review 91:Right off the highway. Big room, lots of space for luggage and dog bed.
Review 92:Mattress was lumpy and needs replacing; missing tiles in corridor ceiling exposed wires; toilet not fixed securely to floor - wobbled when you sat down!; WiFi did not work; no shower gel - very annoying when you are wet.
Review 93:Very convenient location
Review 94:Ground floor room had black mould on the ceiling and smelt of damp, the grout around tiles needed freshening up, the mattress was far too soft and could have done with new pillows as these were like wafers.
Review 95:Would have liked a fenced in toilet area for dog similar to those at the Euro Tunnel. Shower tap button missing was difficult to utilise but got the shower working. This is just an observation not a complaint.
Review 96:great location, just right distance from motorway. Staff Excellent hats off to Christine who gave us a warm welcome. Hotel facilities clean, comfortable & quiet. Varied eating establishments next door. We are happy with the price & able to have our show dog with us in the room. Certainly will use Days Hotels again when in the UK.
Review 97:First room absolutely wreaked of smoke despite being a non smoking room. Second room had obviously had lock broken at some point so was not not encouraging. Mattress was very skimpy
Review 98:No shower head on the shower and no pressure. We told front of house staff the second day and just received a sorry. We probably should have mentioned it straight away but there was someone else complaining and getting nowhere when we passed for dinner one evening so saw no point. The shower was very bad I had to practically lean on the wall just for a trickle of water and barely enough to power the actual shower. The plug was also useful as the water kept coming back up through the plug and into the bath. Gross. Am a regular traveller to kent and am unsure as to whether I would or would not stay here again. I may need convincing.
Review 99:Likes the room basic but quiet enough, tv had a range of channels and the cleaning staff were very polite the front of house staff were average but looked miserable. Beds were very comfy and we had a twin so they were big twin beds which was good. Tea and coffee with milk, sweetener and sugar was welcome, a hairdryer in The room and extra pillows ( to be fair I like feather ones so prefer to take my own everywhere I go in the U.K.!) breakfast was opposite and was £7.50 but we opted to go to costa opposite instead although macdonalds was an option if not as it is 24 hours. There was an option to use an app to ensure Costa was delivered to your room. Window kept the room cool. Towells were clean and spares were available. Wifi stayed on for about 5 minutes which was useful enough for what I wanted. Had a brought a laptop this might have caused issues.
Review 100:Being badgered to get out of our room with constant harrassment fromstaff banging on door .. 2 minutes after the check-out time .. and weforgot the clocks had gone back. Disgraceful behaviour & treatment.Would never stay again!
Review 101:Not much !
Review 102:Compared to other Day's Inn this was extremely tired - stained carpets, ripped seat covers on chairs, mould on the shower tiles and surrounds. All in all a poor room - even the curtain came off it's rail!
Review 103:Convenient for stopping after a long continental drive before driving further in the uK.
Review 104:The room we booked unavailable - only informed when we arrived. The alternative was in dire need of a new bathroom - carpet in room dirty. Free meal vouchers compensated.
Review 105:Very helpful staff
Review 106:No real bad experience but I could feel the springs of the mattress.
Review 107:Check in was quick and easy, and I got what I expected which was a nice clean little room.
Review 108:our room was right next to the front door, meaning we had to keep the curtains drawn at all times and endure a night of other people's conversations outside.
Review 109:the room was warm and the bed comfortable
Review 110:Difficult when the person in front of you gets a similar room for £25 and I paid £65, which I thought was a little bit expensive for the quality of room and location.
Review 111:The bed so comfortable and the room was clean
Review 112:no complaints, and I slept so well, and for what I paid great
Review 113:the two staff on reception were excellent, I had a late arrival after a hard day, they were happy enthusiastic and on the ball,
Review 114:lighting a bit dull, bath too short, no clear instructions first night as to how to get the free wi-fi as staff member unhelpful
Review 115:spacious room, quiet, value for money
Review 116:The only negative point was there was black mould on the bathroom ceiling (I guess it must be hard to prevent this with very frequent use of a powerful shower), but otherwise it was really clean.
Review 117:We had a family room, which was fantastic! It had a main room with a double bed, sofa and 2 chairs and an archway connecting to a room with twin single beds. Perfect for us with small children as we could see them in their beds from our bed, through the arch. The staff were really helpful.
Review 118:Took an hour to get a taxi as no taxi company liked to go out of their way and then charged obscene prices for 2 minutes up the road!
Review 119:Staff very friendly and helpful
Review 120:There is only a taxi service into Maistone which I found a bit expensive. Otherwise no problems for the price of the Hotel
Review 121:this was a good of Hotel the staff were very friendly and the hotel very clean and well presented. We were a very surprised at how good the breakfast was in the restaurant in the service station ,warm well presented and the staff were very helpful.
Review 122:TV volume didn't work properly-fuzzy and unable to hear what was being said. Shower temperature did not work (very hot unless turned down to 0c -very dangerous to older people and young children who would not be able to move away from scalding water. Bed - well mattress comfortable until two people lying on it......how do you stop rolling into the middle when the mattress folds? The whole hotel needs to be ungraded and sounded like group sex going on next door and at times in the corridor......a bit strange and not feeling very safe, especially as door latch was broken and on top of the wardrobe.
Review 123:Room very clean Staff very friendly and helpful - which was lovely....I would go back due to this (only if what I didn't like was sorted) Location good Great to be next to facilities such as a Costa etc.....
Review 124:There is no lift.
Review 125:The lady that works in the reception in the afternoon is really nice. The hotel is clean and stays really near to a Masterchief Center, what is very practical.
Review 126:the bed was very soft so was uncomfortable for me, remember it is a service area so noise can be a problem. Some guests were rather noisy in the early hours so sleep was difficult. The rooms seem to need an update.
Review 127:convienient for the port of dover if getting an earlier boat. The staff were all very helpful. Handy place to stay when going to europe.
Review 128:the bed had a dent in the middle so when sat on, you ended up almost colliding, and therefore quite hard to get out of.....the bedroom had nail clippings on the carpet which wasn't very nice....and toilet seat was broken
Review 129:the room was a good size, the bathroom was clean, although toilet had a broken seat, and shower worked well
Review 130:I got no sleep as the walls are so thin (In family room at least). I was woke up thinking someone was talking in my room and it was the man in the next room. He wasn't especially loud but sounded it because of the walls and door
Review 131:Bed was fine and parking and services were good. Girl on counter was nice but I checked out early and couldn't ask for some compensation for the fact I got very little sleep. I will email now and update this if I get any. I don't blame the guest he should be able to talk on the phone but I shouldn't be woken up by him
Review 132:a. only one chair, rather hard! An armchair in addition would be nice. b. Bath tap temperature controller too stiff to be easily used. Maintenance needed. c.Policy not to provide lavatory brush, I was told. Wrong policy!
Review 133:a. Cheerful and obliging reception staff. b. Excellent layout of room. Easy to work unpack hang clothes etc.
Review 134:Everything!!! Poor double glazing, thus the motorway keeps you awake all night. Worst bed I have ever slept in!! Pillows felt like they were stuffed with old carrier bags!! Black mould in the bathroom!! Filthy carpet!! Shall I go on?
Review 135:The bathroom is smelly. There was a lot of hairs in the plug hole. This was so bad that the water would not drain out of the bath freely when taking out the plug. There is also mould on the walls of the bath. It really put me off. Sorry but that is not acceptable regardless price of room.
Review 136:Quiet
Review 137:Mould starting to appear on the ceiling in the bathroom - not a major problem, just looked unsightly.
Review 138:Perfect location for TV studios. 24 hour services with McDonalds, costa coffee, free parking.
Review 139:low quality place, location terrible VERY BAD choice of eating places Especially road chef, rip off prices, higher prices than the e.g. Stansted Airport and the food is very bad quality and baby portions.do not eat here all poor paid Asian staff in the place( who appeared to be working hard) the CEO should be ashamed , whole of road chef is a disgrace to eating, cannot understand how this is still operating.
Review 140:not much
