Review 1：The key didn't work to my room door. I had also had to ask for it do they clearly knew it didn't work. Hideous to get out early with a dog needing to go!
Review 2：Wonderful people, dog lovers, great food. Slightly off here and there but would stay again happily. I received some special treatment for the dog.

Review 4：Janet and John are very friendly and charming, she's a very good cook, preparing fine food presented lovely looking, he takes care of a perfect service and good drinks. The place is extremely quiet and we felt very fine!

Review 8：We were 'welcomed' by a number of dogs and a cat. Though the owner quickly removed them, their distinctive smell was omnipresent. This should have been mentioned in the descriptions as should the fact that Breakfast turned out to be a 'communal' event. All 'hotel' guests were to sit at one table together. This meant no privacy at all.

Review 13：How helpful and friendly the staff were, how comfortable the room was, and it facilities were excellent. The meals and amount were excellent, and all freshly cooked. In fact i cannot find any fault with the Well View. I am going to book this hotel again for next years Moffat Classic Car Show.
Review 14：It is not a hotel but a bed and brekfast quite far from the city center that was almost desert at 8 p.m. It is not the place if you are looking for a comfortable hotel.
Review 15：- Lock-out being 11.30pm - Not being given a front door key - As a result - somebody popping up every time you go in and always a yapping dog. - The four dogs the owner has. - Trying to tackle the stairs with at least one dog on them or at the bottom of them - Intermittent dog-yapping without much apparent attempt by owners to tell them to be quiet. - No biccies with the tea/coffee - Second bath towel being removed on second night. I like two towels of a size reasonable enough to wrap hair in one and me in the other and at £50 a bight as a solo traveller, think removing one was a tad mean. - Completely impossible to come and go without dog and one or other owner popping out. Minus the dogs and with a front door key/no lock-out, I would have stayed again. With the dogs (and a shattered peace and quiet) never.

Review 19：Excellent facilities in an unspoilt Victorian house in a quiet location within easy walking distance of the village centre. The owners and their family made you feel at home and the evening meal could only be described as brilliant, well worth the money.
Review 20：Had a very relaxing stopover at Well View on our way to Aberdeenshire. I wished we had stayed longer. Our room was comfortable and beautifully furnished and overlooked the garden. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 21：We did arrive late but that was due to traffic which was beyond our control and our reception was frosty from the lady of the house. Not something I expected or needed after a long and trying journey. Part of our group had arrived much earlier so she knew we would be late. The attitude quite tainted our visit and would make me choose a different hotel next time.
Review 22：The rooms were clean and comfortable if a little twee. The bathroom was slightly old fashioned but very clean. The bathroom was carpeted which I do not think is very hygienic for a toilet and made it difficult to shut the door. Breakfast was very good tasty and filling.

Review 27：I was travelling with some frozen meals and asked if they could put them in their freezer overnight. Later I discovered that their freezer was full so they had them to the local 'deli' for safe keeping overnight. They also planned their meal around my nephew's limited food preferences!
Review 28：Idiosyncratic set up. We were overbooked so had to camp in the daughter's bedroom. Dinner expensive for what it was and chicken was still bloody in the joints - no choice of menu and wine was doled out like were we on rations. Would rather have been able to choose and buy a bottle and even the least of restaurants have a small choice of menu.

Review 90：Well View was a relaxing escape from every day to day life. The hotel, a converted detached villa, was spotlessly clean and our room came with an on-suite shower room and tea making facilities. Fully recommended for an unwinding retreat, we would certainly return for another stay.
