The picturesque village of Clovelly, the jewel of the West Country, is a short drive or a delightful coastal walk from the inn, while Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are within easy reach.
The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is proud of its extensive range and high quality food provided. The menu is varied to accommodate seasonal specialties and is freshly prepared in our own kitchens using the best of garden & local produce. This 13th century inn is one of England's most famous, being notorious as the haunt of smugglers and a meeting place for seafarers such as Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Richard Grenville. In winter, relax by one of the inglenook fireplaces, warming yourself next to a blazing log fire, where you can imagine being transported back in time to a less complicated age.
