Reviews for Les Terrasses De Saumur & Spa

Review 1:The hammam is only accessible in the afternoon and is activated only if you ask for it. For vegetarian people, there is only one main course and its price doesn't match with the quantities (even if its delicious).

Review 2:The view from the room The hammam The breakfast The staff

Review 3:The rooms in the main hotel building had basic & a little old furnishing (there are also separate houses we did not go for after reading a review on booking.com for bed bugs). The 4-person room was a bit small, although it had a nice terrace. Dirty forks, spoons and plates at breakfast offset the otherwise fantastic breakfast experience.

Review 4:The staff's friendliness would be my main reason to stay again at this hotel. Excellent restaurant for dinner, amazing food & service. The chef came to check personally if every table was happy or had comments. The breakfast was nothing spectacular but with a few nice surprises - they had unlimited quantities of kiwis and we made our own freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as boiled eggs. I'd miss that breakfast at other hotels.

Review 5:Studio furniture was a little dated, more shabby than chic, the sink in the bathroom had a crack in it, room is in need of a makeover, too far out of town to walk, dead mouse on the terrace in the morning (not the hotels fault)

Review 6:The welcome was warm and efficient, staff very friendly and helpful, restaurant excellent value and good selection of dishes, waiting staff very helpful. Shower was hot

Review 7:There was a bit of a damp smell in the apartment. There was a children's park / play area near to the apartment. It looked public, but it was locked and it was a shame we couldn't use it.

Review 8:Lovely location, samur is beautiful The pool was a big positive attraction We wanted to stay longer than 1 night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Review 9:Evening meal restaurant staff were well below what you would have expected. A short drive from the town centre.

Review 10:Very comfortable good views, would have liked to have stayed more than one night.

Review 11:dinner menu didn't offer a good choice for children.

Review 12:breakfast lady was charming and offered a good choice. very relaxing with amazing views over Saumur.

Review 13:Food served for dinner did not live up to claims made on website and local tourist information. Dishes were "tired" and there is no excuse for not serving any vegetables whatsoever with both main courses.

Review 14:Location Accommodation Layout of site Swimming pool

Review 15:Wonderful views and fabulous pool. Very relaxed atmosphere and loved the style of decor which lifted the simplicity of the self catering accommodations. Very comfortable beds.

Review 16:Everything. We have already recommended this hotel to our closest of friends and we ourselves are excited to be returning in two months time to extend our stay and enjoy the hotel even further. The restaurant was exquisite. All the staff were attentive, extremely pleasant and so very helpful...

Review 17:Too far from town center (3 km at least - 1 km up hill.) No view to the town as promised. The bar very boring and waiter didn't take any interest in guest. Additional fee for spa. You have to clean the whole flat - not only kitchen. (Or pay 30 E)

Review 18:Selfcatering facilities. We didn't use the pool or spa. Maybe ideal for families.

Review 19:We ate in the restaurant, I had water split all over me by one of the waiters and also felt the food was overpriced and not very tasty.

Review 20:We arrived early and they had our room ready within 30 minutes

Review 21:Apart from nice and helpful receptionist the staff ranged from surly to rude Would also not particularly recommend the restaurant , food we had was over cooked and the staff unhelpful

Review 22:Nice location overlooking Samur

Review 23:They have bungalows for more than 2 people. They don't really fit the hotel definition, but are sufficient for purpose

Review 24:The view over the Loire valley is very nice, especially from the pool and the terrace of the restaurant. Eat there, it is very good

Review 25:Sound proofing in apartment poor and could much from next door. Pillows barely existed and a folded towell did more. Stairs very creaky and woke family up when going up and down. Swimming pool in a lovely setting but cold for this time of year.

Review 26:Great location and views, away from main town but close enough if you want to pop in. Lovely setting and interior / exterior done well. Excellent value for money.

Review 27:In contrast to the reception staff the restaurant was slightly "cold" and unwelcoming. The location is great for views but be aware the walk into Saumur centre is about 40 mins,

Review 28:Nice room with own small terrace, no views from room, but great views from the pool and restaurant areas. Ample parking, nice small swimming pool.lovely helpful reception staff.

Review 29:I loved the location at the top of the hill with a swimming pool and garden looking down to the town and chateau. I also loved the little private garden outside each room.

Review 30:terrible waiters in the restaurant; the food in the restaurant was nice, but the service was absolutely poor with un-interested waiters that made various mistakes and were dressed in rather dirty, old cloths.

Review 31:Location, view, facilities, reception, peacefullness, food

Review 32:Slightly stuffy atmosphere around the pool mid afternoon Very worried about old pool still of water and with a cover but not locked and therefore a danger to children Over formal dining experience

Review 33:Lovely location Friendly staff Comfy beds Great terrace with views

Review 34:the restaurant could be improved, service slow, food not very inspiring particularly beef dishes rather cremated

Review 35:amazing tranquil oasis about five km out of saumur, lovely pool, spa and beautiful surroundings

Review 36:only one thing about the swimming pool - sorry to say that, but it's not the best idea to build the swimming pool right "under restaurants tables". It's not that pleasant for both swimmers and eaters to watch each other))

Review 37:This is a nice hotel, very well located - closed to the centre, but at the nice countryside. Swimming pool is also a real plus. Restaurant meets the expectations too. But I really agree with many guests, that management is mainly the strongest side of the hotel. I'm so thankful to Lilla (sorry if the name was written not correctly), the owner of the hotel. I had some problems, and she was so kind and professional with the help. Thanks a lot! And good luck with your business!

Review 38:Wifi - made to pay 93 euro for 3 days use so it wasn't free at all - and the wifi continually fell over, so had to be reloaded on every occasion.

Review 39:View from property good, swimming pool is a bonus, restaurant does brisk business

Review 40:We got a very friendly welcome. Our studio was well equipped, clean and quiet. We had a delicious meal by the pool on our first evening. Highly recommend staying at Les Terrasses

Review 41:I thought the menus were attractive but the reality was that the cooking was rather bland and tasteless.

Review 42:This is a very well-appointed hotel with delightful grounds and facilities.

Review 43:Standard room had a french door not a window so room was hot and bathroom smells predominated. Dark grey paint made it gloomy.

Review 44:having dinner overlooking Saumur and the Chateau

Review 45:We loved the location. Just a 20 minute walk to Saumur downtown, but we are happy walkers. Also, 5 mins to the airport and we like to travel in our own single-engine chariot. Really good restaurant with indoor and terrace options.

Review 46:The kitchen could use an upgrade. Noice from nearby aerodrome but is also nice to look at.

Review 47:Lovely place with a fantastic terrace and pool. Great view from the terrace over the city Saumur and the castle. Fine restaurant. Nice wine and crémant taste nearby. The apartments are simple decorated but functional and have a nice terrace.

Review 48:This place was taken to a 5-star level by the amazing kindness of the staff. Everyone truly goes above and beyond. I loved my stay here and can't wait to return!

Review 49:It is not the first time for me at "Les Terrasses de Saumur",it is always my first choice when in the region for business. Positionon the top of the hill overlookign Saumur is one of the reasons; theother one is the excellent restaurant!

Review 50:No air conditioning. Also in a region which produces wonderful sweet wines there was only one on the menu and it wasn't nearly sweet enough to accompany our crepe suzette.

Review 51:Views from the terrace, breakfast especially the fresh rolls, the staff especially the restaurant staff and the the check out receptionist.

Review 52:The staff was exceptional and the location was fantastic for a beautiful view with a top notch restaurant. Very friendly to english speaking visitors. The suite room overlooking the valley had a beautiful deck and the natural surroundings were quiet and restful away from the bustle of the city. Great sights and attractions nearby plus provided advice and concierge bookings for everything. Definite destination!! Thanks You

Review 53:Got bitten by bed lice. The bed and room was completely infested. The managers attitude was appalling. He belittled the problem, refused to refund our money. Wanted us to stay the 3rd night once he had the room sprayed with a tiny can of an inappropriate product! NGO

Review 54:Friendly staff Fantastic food Great location What should have been great accommodation due to having a duplex apartment

Review 55:The apartments were bungalows which wasn't clear in the publicity. (Not a fault in itself) Our bungalow was a bit 'tired' decoratively, the bathroom was smelly. Restaurant service was very slow - 3 hours for dinner. It was quite difficult to find the hotel

Review 56:Hotel grounds, swimming pool, evening menu The decking outside the bungalows was nice And it was good to be located in the neighbouring one to our friends.

Review 57:Small number of staff during the day, until dinner-time. Problems with the bath and basin plugs in the bathroom. Weird decor in the Bar area!

Review 58:Excellent food at a reasonable price, in a fantastic location with a view of the Chateau at Saumur. Good service at dinner. Comfortable beds.

Review 59:Restaurant menu limited in choice but of a high standard. No bar typemenu only formal dinning.

Review 60:Friendly staff and good standard of accommodation facilities. Close toFrench National Equestrian Centre and overlooking Saumur Castle. Studiokitchen well equipped and bed comfortable. Terrace private and againwell equipped

Review 61:the quality of the Breakfast: Compare to the 3* of the hotel some products where missing: -Neither cappucino - nor expresso (only basic coffee) - nor fresh bread. So, a little expensive 12 € due to the lack of this products.

Review 62:quite, nice view

Review 63:The restaurant was over priced and the food was not as good as I was expecting.

Review 64:The view was amazing from the swimming pool and terrace. There was plenty of seating outside for eating, drinking and relaxing and there was quite a lot of shade.

Review 65:The kitchen space was really quite inadequate to classify as self catering.

Review 66:The bar was very quirky. Excellent service and lovely meal in the restaurant. Beautiful views from the terrace of the chateau in Saumur.

Review 67:Kitchen area small with limited facilities.

Review 68:room with lovely little private terrace.

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:Stunning location, very friendly staff. Food excellent.

Review 71:we loved the freedom of the apartment accommodation together with the excellent restaurant. It was ideal as a stop off for us on our journey south

Review 72:PROBLEM IS THAT ALL ROOMS/COTTAGES ARE FACING EACH OTHER AND NO PRIVACY. COULD ACTUALLY SEE MY OPPOSITE NEIGHBOURS LAYING IN THEIR BED.

Review 73:bathroom door making an unpleasant noise, toilet not to perfectly cleaned, only three towels for 2 days, bad wi-fi speed

Review 74:good view,perfect pool.

Review 75:dark room, smelt damp

Review 76:friendly staff who were very welcoming. ideal for halfway on the drive down south

Review 77:Very relaxed, friendly staff, good fun decor.

Review 78:Location and general appearance of the hotel

Review 79:Quiet and comfortable

Review 80:A little too far from town to walk in, but otherwise excellent.

Review 81:nothing it was good.

Review 82:The bed was really good

Review 83:Good location - attentive staff - safe - secluded well appointed accomodation

Review 84:lovely restaurant, staff took the children into the kitchens to make their own dessert!

Review 85:old furniture not recently renovated

Review 86:very good restaurant friendly staff good location

Review 87:Special view across the Loire valley.

Review 88:very odd decor in places - the New York theme was surprising!

Review 89:Pool and open air tables at the restaurant

Review 90:Welcoming and friendly owners

Review 91:Fantastic view of Saumur and wonderful meal on last night in the restaurant.

Review 92:Very close to the Caves de Marson

Review 93:The restaurant was poorly managed and the food was disapointing

Review 94:The location and the staff

Review 95:Beautiful views of the Chateau at Saumur and only a 5 minute drive from Saumur city centre. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the reception

Review 96:evening meal rather limited to "heavy" dishes

Review 97:Location outside of town, good facilities

Review 98:We had a stunning room with a terrace view.....worth the upgrade

Review 99:Not walking distance to anywhere

Review 100:Quirkiness of the hotel

Review 101:Not even a bonjour or bonne journée at check out.

Review 102:Nice Location, out of town with free parking.

Review 103:Poor fresh fruit at breakfast

Review 104:Good facilities and excellent pastries

Review 105:The children's menu was a little too sophisticated for the 5 and 7 year old kids.

Review 106:The space in the duplex the hotel facilities.

Review 107:All staff friendly and helpful. Thank goodness they spoke english

Review 108:Kitchenette poorly stocked.
