Reviews for The Dartmouth Boutique B &B

Review 1:The accommodation was lovely with a comfortable bed and great furniture in the room. The staff were very kind and chatty and the breakfasts were tasty too. Many thanks for a great stay.

Review 2:The decor was very attractive. Comfortable bed and lovely furnishings. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The view from our room was beautiful.

Review 3:An excellent, very clean and contemporarily furnished guest house. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Location is on the hill leading out of town past the naval college. Excellent for us but if you choose to walk down to Dartmouth the gradient is steep and through the "back streets"...for us that only added to the charm. Would definitely recommend.

Review 4:would have liked a bath .

Review 5:the attention to detail ie makeup mirror and clutter free surfaces ; white bedding ,no dusty bedspread, privacy ,excellent breakfast

Review 6:Very friendly and informative welcome from Neil on arrival - made us feel at home right away. The accommodation was well fitted and spotless, and the food and service were excellent throughout our stay. We would be more than happy to stay there again.

Review 7:We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of October. The staff were friendly and provided a very professional service. Great views from the dining room and a view of Dartmouth from our room. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.Ten minute walk into town down a steep hill, but take a bus back. Buses every half hour from harbour front and stop a few minutes away from the hotel.

Review 8:It's worth bearing in mind it's at the top of a steep hill however this wasn't a problem for us!

Review 9:What a lovely place! Owner, staff, room, breakfast perfect!! Would highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Review 10:Nothing to dislike

Review 11:Absolutely lovely place to stay, very welcoming and pleasant owners, nothing too much trouble, very high standards of cleanltiness, will definitely be booking again in the future,..

Review 12:Nothing to aay that we didnt like All was good

Review 13:Lovely views. Excellent room.clean and comfortable. Peaceful and quiet and very welcoming staff who couldnt do enough to make our stay the best possible.Lovely breakfast.

Review 14:We were a late arrival so the owner contacted us in advance with details for entry and left our keys for us. Rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was served in the dining room overlooking fields running down towards the town. Would definitely recommend and would certainly revisit when next in Dartmouth.

Review 15:Price seemed a little high initially when booking but seems very competitive for Dartmouth in general.

Review 16:An elegant B&B, smart room and great breakfast served in style and efficiency of a plush hotel. You can tell owners take great pride in running this place and making sure guests have a faultless stay. Lots of parking which is scarce in Dartmouth.

Review 17:The walls are quite thin, for a couple of nights of our stay there was a guest staying in the room above us, we could hear everything.

Review 18:The b&b was absolutely lovely. Clean, comfortable and the staff were fantastic. Really made us feel welcome. The hill climb is something to be aware of, it's quite steep and on a couple of the roads there isn't a pavement, but the centre of town is just a short walk.

Review 19:A nice welcome on arrival. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the dining room and the lounge. Breakfast was excellent, you wouldn't go hungry. Highly recommended.

Review 20:The service at breakfast seemed like 20 questions - why not leave sauces and jams and side plates on the service table. It all seemed like hard work to me and not efficient. Serve toast after the main hot breakfast not before it

Review 21:The room was lovely and the location perfect

Review 22:Nothing of note.

Review 23:Neil, the owner and manager was a very helpful, pleasant young man, with nothing being to much trouble. First class at the price, it's hard to imagine finding better. The breakfast room was especially comfortable with beautiful views. The cleanliness was exceptional.

Review 24:Very hard, uncomfortable & creaky mattress - such a shame as the bedding was beautiful, as was everything else.

Review 25:Beautiful B & B very tastefully decorated and extremely clean with a friendly and welcoming owner. Stunning views from property & lovely & quiet.

Review 26:Nothing - we loved everything

Review 27:Our stay was perfect; the location was fab, the room had an amazing view and was clean and spacious, the breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. We couldn't fault our stay and have already booked to stay again.

Review 28:The mattress on the bed in room 2 is very tired, I felt like I was going to roll off it in the night! The breakfast was good except that the toast came from the kitchen already spread with some kind of margarine. I would prefer real butter to be provided on the table so I can spread it myself. The name 'boutique', shudder!

Review 29:Quiet location, views, breakfast.

Review 30:The owner was very friendly, helpful, knowledgable about the area and nothing was a problem. The accomodation was beautifully presented. The views down to the port were fantastic.

Review 31:Neil, our host, was very welcoming. The room was large with a lovely view. All rooms are decorated to a high standard and tastefully furnished. Very clean. Would recommend this b&b. Definitely up to four star hotel standard. Free parking which is a bonus in Dartmouth. Free Wi-fi.

Review 32:The B&B is run beautifully, the host Neil and his staff are all so very helpful. The room is spacious and very clean and well turned out. There is nothing I could think of which would improve this B&B. The breakfast is lovely, everything is excellent.

Review 33:Neil and co were perfect hosts. The accomodation was the best we've stayed in for cleanliness , breakfast, views .We were only there for 3 nights but will definatley be returning for a longer stay.

Review 34:We found the dining room to be to cramped, the breakfast was ok but have had tastier. My wife found the bed a bit on the hard side.we were also a it disappointed that there was no access to the patio or garden,it would have been nice to sit out and enjoy the wonderful views.

Review 35:Great location,good parking,beautifully decorated,very clean,excellent host.

Review 36:The bed was small in size & very hard . wash basin was very small . very steep hill up from Dartmouth.

Review 37:very nice décor ..very clean. good parking. very nice view. food very good & good friendly service.

Review 38:Dining room cramped. Very steep hills around property. It is not a 10 minute walk to town. More like 20 mins. Did not like being asked to take shoes off when raining. Hall, stairs and landing not well lit.

Review 39:The room was lovely.

Review 40:Neil and his team were excellent: he told us what was available in the area and he even phoned a restaurant in the town to make us a booking. Location was great, only a 10 min downhill walk into town but v. Steep coming back!

Review 41:It is a bit minimalist for a boutique.

Review 42:There is parking on-site and the view from the dining room is stunning. The room is simple and comfortable. The breakfast is ample.

Review 43:Very good breakfast, modern clean lovely shower. Bit of a walk down steep hill. Got taxi back only £4. Park and ride good option. Will definitely stay again.

Review 44:Walking into the Dartmouth and being greeted by Neil was like entering into another cool, calm world. This is the perfect place for tired travelers. Exquisite decor, amazing views, good food and warm hospitality. The location was great for exploring the Dartmouth community. Once we parked the car, we were able to walk or take ferries to all the spots that interested us. I recommend this B&B to other travelers.

Review 45:Neil and the rest of the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The entire B&B was spotless and very tasteful. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 46:The staff were very friendly and talkative. The room itself was extremely spacious with a comfortable bed. Perfect location with some spectacular views.

Review 47:We were attending a party in Dartmouth and Neil was happy for us to check-in a little early so we could drop our bags off and get changed. The B&B is decorated beautifully with lovely furniture and paintings. We would definitely recommend and visit again.

Review 48:Although room was comfortable the bed was a double with a metal bedframe top and bottom. A little squeaky and feet hit the bedframe, not very good when you're tall. Would of preferred a king size with no end to bed. Didn't spoil it for us though and would stay there again.

Review 49:Lovely boutique house, very clean with lovely furniture.Breakfast was very good and room a good size and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities. Location was perfect for us, easy walking (downhill)to Dartmouth and within easy reach of all other areas.

Review 50:No encounter of bad experience, may be if you don't drive, it would be difficult to get to the place as it was quite high up on the hill.

Review 51:The welcoming and helpfulness of the host and the spotless room especially the bath room.

Review 52:Nothing, all very good!

Review 53:Gorgeous room with beautiful view. Very clean and contemporary, wonderful shower. Excellent breakfasts and dining room with a glorious view. On site parking.

Review 54:Brilliant that there's a parking space for every room - easy, safe parking was a deciding factor in choosing this accommodation for us. We liked that the feel of the place was stylish and luxurious but in no way pretentious. Neil, the owner, was friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive, which made for a lovely, relaxed stay.

Review 55:Minor issue was the bed - quite uncomfortable but as we stayed one night it didn't detract from our experience here.

Review 56:Warm welcome by friendly owner made us feel right at home straight away. A good location, around 10 - 15 minute walk into town. Great advice from owner about things to do and good restaurant recommendations. Room was beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. Great breakfast in a beautiful room with spectacular view.

Review 57:The friendliness of the the staff , the host Neal is very knowledgable of the area and takes a personal pride in making sure all your needs are met. The views of Dartmouth from our room where magnificent, We can highly recommend The Dartmouth Boutique.

Review 58:Booking .com double booked deluxe room on our first night so had I night in another room but our luggage was moved next day also proprietor did let us know of this as soon as we had confirmation

Review 59:Location & view beautiful clean modern nothing was too much trouble

Review 60:Nothing negative about the place. Visitors should be aware that the location in up a long hill above the town. Easy to walk down into Dartmouth, but a hefty walk back up!

Review 61:Simply wonderful stay. Host was friendly. Room beautiful. Breakfast perfect.

Review 62:An excellent place to stay overnight for a last minute booking as we were travelling. Free parking a bonus. Would like to stay here again for a longer break in Dartmouth

Review 63:Great position, a short walk from the towns many restaurants. Very helpful and personable host. Beautiful room and a cracking breakfast. We will be back!

Review 64:Breakfast was good, but sliced bread was a disappointment. As a boutique B&B then good quality artisan bread would be a good addition.

Review 65:Very reasonably priced & very clean b&b. Neil is a good host & friendly. Great views from the breakfast room.

Review 66:The room and the bathroom was very clean and we felt really comfortable. The cooked breakfast tasted excellent and we also enjoyed the fresh fruit salat with the müsli.

Review 67:We thought our host was very friendly and very helpful. The property is spotlessly clean, though we did feel the chill a bit in the bedroom since the heating was turned off.

Review 68:Bed was uncomfortable and the way the bed was positioned you couldn't see the t.v clearly while you were in bed. Shame no bath in room.

Review 69:The room was very tasteful and very clean, wine was left in our room for my husbands birthday, lovely views. Great breakfast.

Review 70:Venetian blinds let in too much light, not helped by the neighbouring property having 3 lights blazing all night long which shone into our room. Breakfast felt rather 'portion-controlled', having to order fruit juice, sauces and marmalade. Decor and ambience could be a bit cold and minimalist for some.

Review 71:Freshly decorated, clean accommodation; comfy beds; ample parking; lovely view.

Review 72:Ground floor room had no net curtains which reduced privacy as staff sometimes walked past window. Breakfast stopped serving quite early and could have been better Couldn't get wifi to connect to my phone in my room

Review 73:View from room was excellent Cleanliness

Review 74:Nothing really. Slightly small wardrobe, if you were staying for more than one night.

Review 75:Clean, fresh, airy room with great views over Dartmouth. Ample parking too. Excellent breakfast and friendly owners. Would highly recommend.

Review 76:no heated towel rail in bathroom making it quite chilly, owner provided an extra heater which helped

Review 77:Great location, parking, lovely decor, little touches like the China tea cups n sugar tongs at breakfast. Very helpful staff and Neil the owner was welcoming and friendly...great B&B

Review 78:From the time we arrived till the time we went home nothing was too much trouble,Neil our host went out of his way to make sure our stay was most enjoyable, from offering to carry our luggage to showing us with much pride his very well presented Boutique hotel. Wonderful full English breakfast,we will return

Review 79:Needed more heat at night whilst In bed. T.V needed to be on wall, Another chair would be appreciated, + no plastic glasses please

Review 80:Welcome, comfort, view, breakfast,Neil was a great host.

Review 81:This B & B was superb and the best we have found in Dartmouth. The owner was extremely professional and the room was so clean and immaculate throughout. Breakfast was also a 10/10. Hats off to a man/team who are working hard to provide an excellent service - hard to come by nowadays. We will return for sure!

Review 82:We loved the decor and the style of the B&B. Excellent choice at breakfast served in a lovely garden room with views over the surrounding countryside. Plenty of parking at the B&B but worth noting the steep walk to and from the centre it could be a bit challenging for some. We used the local taxi service on one occasion and they were good value. All in all a lovely weekend break.

Review 83:Friendliness of Niel and his staff. Very accommodating when we were late arriving. Comfortable and homely. It's at the top of Dartmouth and a great (although steep) walk to town. Bus or taxi back up £4-5 . Had a great 3 night stay will go again.

Review 84:No heating in shower/toilet,not even a heated towel rail!

Review 85:The manager Neil, and staff were very helpful . Good breakfasts.Very clean and modern rooms.

Review 86:In the bedrooms there were china cups and saucers, a personal thing really but would have preferred a nice mug, personally think would have gone better with boutique style décor.

Review 87:When the main door opened you could smell the fresh flowers. The accommodation was extremely clean and well presented throughout, and very tastefully decorated. There were framed pictures created by a local artist which complimented the interior décor. The hospitality and the breakfast service was excellent. Good quality products very well cooked and well presented. An excellent view from the dinning room on to the river Dart. Will definitely recommend to others and will go back again myself.

Review 88:Lack of wall heaters in the bathroom in the deluxe room and found the standard room quite stark and bear. I would have prefered more furniture in there.

Review 89:The deluxe room had great views and a beautiful four poster bed

Review 90:Nothing!

Review 91:This was the cleanest and most friendly B&B we have ever visited. Everything was excellent. We had a wonderful weekend and the excellence of the B&B made our 45th Wedding Anniversary extra special. We have already recommended the Dartmouth Boutique to our family and friends.

Review 92:Up a very steep hill so perhaps not suitable for those with walking difficulties, however a bus stops very close to the hotel from the town centre so that is a useful thing to know. The hotel room was very white and minimalist which perhaps might not be to everyone's taste.

Review 93:Spotlessly clean, everything was very modern and looked quite new. Breakfast was good and served fresh to order. The host was friendly and helpful. The boutique hotel had its own car park.

Review 94:High up on the hill overlooking Dartmouth. Long steep walk down to the harbour, although taxi and bus service very good>

Review 95:Very welcoming owner. Tasteful decor and great service.

Review 96:This what a quality B & B is all about - attention to detail, excellent service and a superb and helpful host. Not a fault to be found. Parking on site a big positive

Review 97:A lovely place to stay. Plenty of parking which is normally very hard to come by in Dartmouth. Very friendly and welcoming and I would certainly stay there again

Review 98:bed was too small for my partner & pillows & duvet could have been boutique quality

Review 99:friendly, tastefully designed, excellent breakfast. very pleasant stay

Review 100:just a couple of points - although probably very trendy and retro I was not a big fan of the metal "Old style" bedsteads ..reminded me of being in the San at boarding school, and not a bunch of fun when yr toes collide with the frame in the night ! :-( As the bedroom doors (downstairs Rm 1) are very close to each other ..someone trying to get into the room next to us sounded like they were trying to get into our room, a bit un-nerving at night. Also the bathroom fan in the room above us, when left running was quite obtrusive..small things - but just take the edge off

Review 101:Recently Refurbished The Darmouth is spotlessly clean and well presented. A nice warm welcome from Neil and plenty of local information. The hotel is well placed for Dartmouth itself .. Its walkable ..but its a steep walk back ... as we arrived on a Sunday we didn't want to trust the buses, So i drove back down for dinner. Superb breakfast room with great views ..( just wished the windows opened a bit more) Decent breakfast with plenty of choice. Beds are comfortable ... Highly recommended though ... do hope the team can keep up the high standards that they have started with

Review 102:In the Breakfast room there was no blinds at the windows, which ok is good as the view is amazing, but, on a sunny day it made the room so very hot and blinding at times.

Review 103:The B&B was stunning, amazing decor and amazing views. Perfect location but on a very steep hill, but taxi's are cheap enough to get back up again.

Review 104:Waldrobes old up styled painted. Frustratingly small and not deep enough for hangers. Noisey rooms from above and outside. Luxury deluxe room had uncomfortable and creaky bed. Bathroom looks quality but is of a poor quality. Difficult to use shower valve and doors stick.

Review 105:Good views. Modern design. Friendly staff, able to park.

Review 106:Church Street access is a bit tricky, being part one-way - we had to go round twice to find the way in.

Review 107:Delightful rooms and a friendly reception. Good choices for breakfast.

Review 108:Need a blind in the breakfast lounge. Sad to block out the sun,but too much when eating breakfast.

Review 109:Well done to Neil & wife.Beautifully renovated - immaculate all through.Wouldnt hesitate to stay again & recommend to friends.

Review 110:We had a very squeaky bed! It was a metal framed bed so every tiny little movement either of us made during the night would wake the other up.

Review 111:Greeted by friendly staff, room was clean and modern. It didn't bother us, but there are only blinds on the windows in the bedroom so the room was quite light early in the morning which could be a problem for some people who need a dark room to sleep in. Easily within 10 minutes walking distance to the local village but a bit of a steep hill to walk back up! Or be lazy and get a taxi for about £3!! Offered clean towels during our two night stay which was nice. Good choice of breakfast.

Review 112:The veiw was perfect the staff were very helpful and made you really welcome it was a nice walk in to Dartmouth its self and there was so much to do i would recomend the dartmouth boutique to any one fantastic.

Review 113:The walk into and back from town. It is very steep though not far!

Review 114:The cleanliness of the well appointed rooms, the helpfulness of the owners and staff, excellent safe parking and the view.

Review 115:Everything was amazing, couldn't fault anything. The breakfast was nice and cooked to a high standard, couldn't of asked for a more comfier bed! A fantastic stay!!

Review 116:They had a system to stagger everyone coming for breakfast, and we got an early time. Maybe instead they could put more tables out in the main room and allow people to come when they wish. wifi was patchy. They need to have wifi extenders to boost signal round the property

Review 117:Beautiful view of the countryside from the breakfast room. Room very quiet to sleep in, and very luxurious.

Review 118:The only problem we had was the double bed I'm our room. It was a wrought iron bed which squeaked every time you moved ..

Review 119:The b and b was situated at the top of Dartmouth so great views but you need a taxi or to drive to get into the town. It was beautifully decorated and the breakfast was great. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful
