Reviews for Hotel Vienna

Review 1:The description mentioned parking facilities, but both we and any other guests who we overheard while they were checking in were told that their own parking garage was full (awkward, considering there wasn't anyone else at breakfast - we usually take very long breakfasts), and their "solution" was to leave the car in a deserted tank station nearby. The receptionists demanded 30 EUR for leaving the card in the former tank station (which doesn't have any lighting, btw), but after explaining that we were only checked in for roughly 14 hours (checked in at 8:00 o'clock, left at 9:30 morning the next day) he agreed that we'd pay 15 EUR "only". Here's the caveat: the parking costs (still 15,00 EUR per day) weren't added to the invoice and we didn't receive any receipt for it either, because "a friend" of the hotel is in charge of the ex-tank station's facility. The entire Eastern European-like completely illegal (fiscally speaking) approach left us with a very unpleasant opinion about the hotel's staff. Considering we explicitly asked for parking when we made the reservation, I'd expect something less out-of-the ordinary.

Review 2:The hotel is clean, quiet and has a decent breakfast. The location is right between two metro stations (underground ways), not longer than a 7-8 minute walk to either of them, so getting almost anywhere in Vienna is easy. Staff was kind enough though to ask us if we need any lift to the airport. Strange, considering they knew we arrived there by car, but still...

Review 3:Very weak WiFi signal, it almost doesn't work. 15 EUR for parking which is located on gas station (!!). There is no restaurant. A little bit too expensive hotel with this facilities.

Review 4:We had a really rough time here sleeping due to the continuous smell of smoking in the hotel. This is a non-smoking hotel but apparently when we raised the issue we were told the owner was the only one that could smoke here. It meant that one if us couldn't sleep as had asthma and was anxious for an asthma attack due to the heavy smell. We were coughing and spluttering at one point and were glad to be out of the hotel most of the day. We did raise the issue and later there was a air freshener added to the bathroom but this made no difference. Also on our trip we asked for hot water and a cup to take some medicine and were told "this isn't what you expect from a 4 star hotel. This is behaviour more for a youth hostel". This was deemed very impolite and personal. Some of the staff were very nice but evening staff on a couple of occasions were abrupt and rude.

Review 5:Nice rooms. Comfortable. Was a nice distance from the underground station. Couple of mins walk. Nice not to be in central as much quieter. Good breakfast and decent price.

Review 6:The bed foams in the double room we stayed in were not too comforting. The beddings were only changed once for the period of 5 days we were in. That's not too good of a 4-star hotel.

Review 7:The hotel rooms were adequately equipped with superb and the state-of-the-art facilities; the staff were very receptive, prompt to request and very respectful and helpful. They made our stay and first-time experience in Vienna a memorable one.

Review 8:No english tv channels.breakfast could have been more diverse.

Review 9:Clean room, modern bathroom, blondie and night shift receptionists were kind. Breakfast quality was ok.

Review 10:No air conditioning, small garbage cans and mediocre dusting and vacuuming.

Review 11:Service, service and more service at the reception. The employees went out of the way to help us in every way possible. It is also a short five minute walk to the metro which was a benefit for us as it forced us to do some exercise, lol.

Review 12:The Prater subway and train station area is a magnet for homeless people, drug addicts and all sort of dubious people. The bathroom does not have a door, it's just a glass slider and it makes it less comfortable than what you would expect. The hotel does not have an AC unit and all the TV channels are in German, I would expect to have at least 1 in english, for tourists to enjoy. Breakfast is fairly poor but the restaurant looks nice.

Review 13:Restaurant looks nice, people at the reception were friendly and helpful.

Review 14:NO AIRCONDITIONING / VERY HOT OUTSIDE NOISE NO TEA MAKING / IRONING FACILITY IN ROOM TOILET / BATH INSIDE BED ROOM UNCOMFORTABLE BED / PILLOWS NO ENGLISH CHANNEL ON TV

Review 15:LOCATION NEAR PARASTERN METRO CLEANLINESS OF ROOM VERY GOOD QUALITY BATH / TOILET HELPFUL STAFF

Review 16:I wouldn't have rated this as a four star hotel. The bathroom in a twin bedroon was all glass which was a bit awkward between friends. The nearest station (Pratastern) felt unsafe to walk back from at night as a female as there are constant congregations of groups of men drinking alcohol outside of it. My friend was followed by a drunk man whilst walking back alone in the afternoon who only stopped when she walked into a nearby hotel to ask for help.

Review 17:Good hotel. Clean rooms and the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Easy and quick to get into the centre of Vienna.

Review 18:No air con which made the room very stuffy and hard to sleep. Not the nicest area to walk around. Noisy people next door. Staff not overly welcoming.

Review 19:Location was good for railway station. Prater amusement park 10min walk. Wifi very fast. Breakfast buffet all you can eat. Bed very comfortable and strong shower.

Review 20:More than 40 years old hotel. The cleaning service were suck . The sheets and pillows are smelly. No AC. Every day the same breakfast. No business center (1 bad PC only).

Review 21:Staff were ok most of the time (not that friendly though). Free internet (when it works)

Review 22:The staff is horrible. I needed a parking place. I've asked for one when I booked the room. I never got feedback and when I've got there they told me they don't have one. The lady was even irritated that she had to do several tasks in parallel (including answer me where I could park). I had to park in a station nearby. As you look around this hotel is located near Prater. But if you go for a walk you will see that it's not that pleasant location, nor did it look very safe to me. Moreover when I came later for check in (I arrived earlier then expected) I had again to wait to see the stuff finish their stories with other guests and sending away a guest who was complaining for the smell in room. What I would also add is the fact that it has no air conditioning and at 38 degrees outside during day I felt that lack during. Otherwise the hotel is ok, but the stuff is a nightmare.

Review 23:Vienna was in the middle of a heatwave when we arrived and this hotel doesn't have air conditioning so it was very hot and stuffy. We ended up going somewhere else even though we'd already paid for our stay here because we were very uncomfortable. The room also wasn't particularly clean. Really this is an old-fashioned cheap hotel that's been partially modernised in order to fulfill the minimum requirements to be able to call itself a four-star hotel, but it still feels like an old-fashioned cheap hotel.

Review 24:The staff were nice.

Review 25:The room floor was dirty. We had to use shoes when leaving bathroom. we staied here several times in the past and it was very good , now we where disappointed.

Review 26:Location is a bit noisy on a friday night with loud people on the street. The room didn't have airco and was really hot with the sun. The window had to be wide open all night to be comfortable, but blocked the way out of bed on the window side.

Review 27:Shower and closeness to public transport incl train to airport

Review 28:Wifi was so bad! It was a bit loud from the outside during our stay and our room was not very clean as its a 4 star hotel, everything seems old except the bathroom no tea or coffee and air conditioner in the room. No nice restaurants around!

Review 29:The location is good less than 5 minutes walk to train station, 8 minutes walk to prater and two minutes walk to local supermarket , also the bed was comfy!

Review 30:-Bathroom was not like in the pictures -I do not think it is a 4-star hotel -Area seemed to be dodgy

Review 31:-Very close to the city/close to the underground station

Review 32:This property is not a 4 star hotel. It can be called 3 star only. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Room was so hot and didn't provide a portable fan. Area surrounding is not really good.

Review 33:7 minutes walk from u ban.

Review 34:Curtains need replacement. Also not light excluding so awoke at 5am. Toilet/ bathroom has transparent glass doors. Could be embarrassing if someone entered room. TV only in German and small.

Review 35:Breakfast was good. Parking was available. Note; only room for 2 cars. Cost E 18. Large room.

Review 36:uncomfotable double bed, I couldnt sleep in the middle because it is like twin beds put together. No air condition or window in WC No privacy in toilets due to transparent door.

Review 37:Modern, clean, helpful staff

Review 38:Very hot and no AC, in summer will be difficult, we could not sleep at night and that was in the first week of may. what about in Summer?

Review 39:Location, staff.

Review 40:We were on a few day break to Vienna and loved the Hotel Vienna. Staff were friendly and responsive, hotel is a nice boutique place - and Leopoldstadt, the old Jewish quarter is a good place to explore from.

Review 41:Nothing !

Review 42:just a lovely charming hotel with loads of character and superb collection of historical pictures adorning all the public sector areas. \\\\\\\\\

Review 43:There were some omissions in the cleanliness. The internet connection had disconnection issues at least on the third floor, but they did not take my feedback seriously. One of the reception guys was rude in general and was yelling on the phone to some customer. I was recommended to use the nearby restaurant Hansy, which was actually quite mediocre.

Review 44:Location is close to the U-bahn and S-bahn station. Breakfast is good. Comfort is good. The ambience is a bit retro, and has its charm.

Review 45:It's right next to a big train station, so very easy to reach. However, walking to the city center takes a while.

Review 46:The room was amazing while the price was lower than for my business hotel during the week.

Review 47:rather poor lighting at the desk

Review 48:From Praterstern (± 300 m from the hotel), one metro station to the mess Wien, three to the Vienna International Center and 2 to 4 for the main places in Center

Review 49:The glass bathroom doors are peculiar, especially if you travel as a couple. It could be cleaner, traces of dust here and there :/ The breakfast might vanish well before 10am, so come early. Lady serving breakfast was rude. Reception staff needed to intervene.

Review 50:Friendly, professional, helpful and amusing staff at the reception. Wi-Fi is available and free, fairly good reception, adequate speed. It's around 7 minutes walk from the nearest Metro station and around 35 minutes walk from the center. Not many restaurants around but Hans im Gluck (5 minutes) is superb. Prater Amusement Park is just 10 minutes away.

Review 51:Not walking distance to old town/city center. Better to travel without a car.

Review 52:Location- 3 min walk from Praterstern, few stops to city center by Metro. Very nice renovated rooms with glass-door big bathroom. Pleasant personnel! I was positively surprised

Review 53:- the rooms are lovely, every room diferently decorated, very clean - good breakfast - if the weather is fine you can walk to the Stephan's Dom - friendly staff, very helpfull

Review 54:Poor sound isolation, you can hear everything from room next to you. Parking very hard to find on weekend, but you can park freely from 18 to 9 on street around hotel. Recommend that you ask for garage reservation in advance if you'll stay here on saturday or sunday.

Review 55:It's very close to city center, easy to find with navigation, very big and clean bathroom. Good value for money.

Review 56:The hitch was the bathroom. The bathroom in our room had a transparent glass wall complete with a transparent sliding glass door. Okay, it wasn't completely transparent, per se. There was some modest striping on the door and wall from the floor up to about the 5 foot mark. It wasn't enough. We ended up using the bathroom on the main floor a few times. The plumbing itself was excellent, though.

Review 57:Comfortable and clean rooms as well as helpful staff. The hotel is also close to a subway station which is easy access to the rest of Vienna. Didn't have the breakfast there. There were bakeries nearby that were more cost effective.

Review 58:Room was very modern with a nice design, well equipped and very clean. It was also spacious and quiet, had a great sleep. Really good value for this money.

Review 59:I am already used to having wi-fi connection in my room. At this hotel, unfortunately it was only available at the front desk: not much privacy there with all the other guests around.

Review 60:The staff were great, very helpful, indicated us lots of places to go, made us reservations at restaurants, calling us taxis, the whole deal. The hotel itself is located close to a train station (not the nicest neighborhood to stroll during the evenings), but safe and handy. Good breakfast (they had fresh salmon because it was January).

Review 61:- Nothing to think of.

Review 62:+ Rooms are great, large, clean + Great bathroom with big 2 showers, one on ceiling and other at the side which was great + Beds are very big and very very comfortable + Staff helped us with public parking + Best value for money in Vienna

Review 63:The receptionist (the female old lady) was extremely unfriendly which was rather surpising. In a 4star hotel I would expect that the staff is welcoming at least..

Review 64:The room was fully renovated, nicely equipped.

Review 65:No hot drink making facilities, not good in the winter!

Review 66:The large bathroom with bath.. The stylist rooms. The sofa, better than sitting in a bed.. Good mini bar.

Review 67:Alexander Wirm was a treasure of knowledge! So wonderful with history and advice for trains and getting around town. Roland very helpful too with arranging tour . Great breakfasts! Thanks for letting us leave our bags after checkout. Thank you

Review 68:Nothing negative really. The rooms are not very big, but ok size, thereis no teapot or coffee maker in the room.

Review 69:Very professional and helpful reception staff. Decor is not modern, buteverything is very clean and functional. Good shower. The hotel is about15 mins walk to the center and is close to a subway line. I found thishotel to be good value for money. We were able to reserve parkingthrough the hotel for only 4 euro per day.

Review 70:Breakfast could be improved in variety but really for what you pay its fair and reasonable

Review 71:Can't fault the service The gentleman that was on the night desk was exceedingly helpful

Review 72:Great staff at Reception , i would thank Mr.Alexander , he was very nice and helpful with us treated us as a family , Prater land is near (good experience for adult and children ) city center Stephanplatz is 10 min by Underground from Prater station (5-10 min walk from the hotel) the breakfast need a little bet to better as 4 Star Hotel otherwise everything is satisfied.

Review 73:The glass wall at the bathroom. The fact that they ignored my request for a quiet room, made with 11 months before. Our room was at first floor, near the elevator.

Review 74:All was ok. Great breakfast room and meal.

Review 75:Room service: Food arrived 30 mins later than promised. Wifi charges 25 euros PER DAY???!! Seriously? Don't mind to spend more on better service but 25 euros per day for Wifi would make me feel like been treated as a fool, While Hilton's competitors provide FREE Wifi makes it a pretty shortsighted move as my humbled opinion. Room was okay-sized compare to other similar leveled hotels we stayed later on.

Review 76:Location was gold. Bed was very comfortable and of course very clean just as Hilton's standard. Food was great. Reception was professional and friendly, which don't often meet both in the same time. More facilities than other same leveled hotels we stayed.

Review 77:no air conditioning.. it is not needed most of the time since the weather is not that hot in Vienna.. but it would be better if it was there..

Review 78:very good and friendly staff.. and the location is great

Review 79:I've ordered twin room (with a call confirmation) but when we've arrived they told us they give it to some other guests. No alternative! If you don't like it - you may find another hotel. It seems what they don't have any air condition and ventilation in rooms. Garage is expensive and only for 2 cars - can be full and parking will be a problem. ATTENTION! They have only partially matted glass door to the bathroom. It's really disturbing unless you travel with your wife or girlfriend. Booking.com shows no notice about breakfast - it's for additional  €10.

Review 80:Location (5-10 min walk to metro or tram stop). Many restaurants nearby. Modern furniture. Breakfast is really great! WiFi is good but I've got problems with login.

Review 81:it would have been good to have an international TV channel but I do not think this was the fault of the hotel.

Review 82:Everything was excellent. The young male receptionist was very friendly and efficient. Excellent English.

Review 83:Good location, walking distance to the city center and to the train station with direct connection to the airport. Hotel is easy to find and is located in quiet neighbourhood, which is perfect if you are in need of a good sleep. It is very clean and the have very good, continental-style breakfast.

Review 84:Maybe the "transparencies" of the bath area could be reduced for a better privacy.

Review 85:The hotel makes easy reaching all parts of Wien being 5 minutes away from a metro station. Nice and comfortable, can be surely considered for a stay in the city.

Review 86:Bathroom was not private whilst using the toilet and shower facilities. Glass transparent window makes it impossible for a person to shower and toilet in private, especially when they are sharing accommodation with others

Review 87:The location was excellent and the hotel was very nice. Our suite was amazing as we had the bath in the bedroom and rain shower.

Review 88:Location near pratter

Review 89:you can hear a lot from the other rooms. Specially in the morning when other guests are having shower

Review 90:Staff were super friendly and helpful

Review 91:Dirty towel in bathroom, noisy in lobby till 2am, stuff didnt open the door when going out with both hands full of bags,...

Review 92:Room

Review 93:little out of centre , but price reflects this.

Review 94:The hotel, has been recently refurbished ; so all is clean and fresh. tariff of the hotel is fair.

Review 95:Very comfortable and clean room, friendly staff. They provided with city map which is very useful~

Review 96:- Great location - Friendly staff - Very modern and nicely decorated - Decent room space compared to other Austrian hotels

Review 97:There was no restaurant

Review 98:Location was close to the metro station

Review 99:No air condition at all, so we had to open the window in a noisy street.

Review 100:The towel wasn't so clean , No conditioner in the room

Review 101:Location, hotel staff

Review 102:Very nice hotel, just try it

Review 103:service was not good.

Review 104:Bath room was good

Review 105:No air conditioning and found the rooms very stuffy. No fan available for one night so unpleasant night sleep.

Review 106:Good location

Review 107:Excellent location, Great staff

Review 108:Friendly helpful staff.

Review 109:No air condition (30 something degrees outside).

Review 110:Little bit hot at night, I couldnt sleep well

Review 111:Very nice breakfast, it was really good

Review 112:Noisey people in room next door

Review 113:Personal

Review 114:Room,situated near railway station modern

Review 115:EVERYTHING,LOCATION,PRICE STAFF,BAR. Recommend a stay, Its says what it is.

Review 116:no air condition in room

Review 117:services and thers

Review 118:rooms has no fans or air con.

Review 119:breakfeast

Review 120:Not in central part of Wien.

Review 121:Triple room is good and big.

Review 122:There should be free parking for guests.

Review 123:The decor !

Review 124:Friendly staff. Comfortable room. More importantly, there was no noise from other guests

Review 125:Staff
