Reviews for The Pines At Eastleigh

Review 1:Carole and Chris were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. Informative about local area and plenty to see and do. Lovely breakfast using locally sourced produce. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Review 2:Nothing!

Review 3:Owner very helpful and accomodating. Breakfast excellent. Facilities roomy and very clean. A very enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend the Pines to my friends.

Review 4:A suggestion. Because it is an old building, which is full of charm, the floor slopes in some places. That means the bed also slopes which can be a bit unnerving. Perhaps some sort of levelling of the bed could be introduced

Review 5:Lovely location and fantastic hosts - we were very well looked after and have no complaints

Review 6:Would have liked small dish of marmalade instead of sachets, only very minor complaint!

Review 7:Very welcoming and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Gorgeous food, locally sourced, beautifully cooked. Comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, excellent coffee, tea, bottled water, wine and chocolate on arrival.

Review 8:Everything was lovely - only tried the wifi once but it seemed a little slow (at least from my room)

Review 9:Such a lovely place in the midst of beautiful countryside and the most quaint, lost in time village. Chris and Carol are friendly, knowledgeable hosts who made us feel very welcome.

Excellent pointers for local dining out and visits - tried places we wouldn't have found on our own - excellent local knowledge. Great breakfast with local produce and home cooking.

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Lovely old house in a rural location with ample parking. We were made very welcome, and following a cup of tea and delicious banana cake were shown to our well appointed and comfortable room by our charming hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, even our request for a 7am breakfast to enable us to catch a boat. We were treated to an excellent cooked breakfast and wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 21:Everything is great.

Review 22:Local and homemade produce at breakfast and Chris and Carol ask about your day and have advice about local and not so local facilities.

Review 23:The owners are such a friendly couple who did all they could to help us get the best out of our stay. Food was excellent (we even had home made bread) and our room very clean and comfortable.

The double bedroom we had was large, well equipped and with a very smart shower/wc en suite. Great views too. The breakfast was superb with locally sourced food. Chris and Carole really make you feel welcome and were very helpful. We would definitely recommend The Pines for those looking for a special place to stay.

Review 34:No Wi-Fi in the rooms, although it was available in the public roms

Review 36:We were given a very warm welcome on our arrival at The Pines. Carol & Chris were charming hosts & made our stay very comfortable & enjoyable. There were so many things to choose from at breakfast - locally sourced produce - all beautifully cooked & served. We hope to be back.

Review 37:Really a minor minor detail: our navigation didn't find the address. A streetname would have been useful. But as said ... This is splitting hair ;-)

Review 38:Excellent hosts, very warm welcome. The breakfast was splendid: fresh fruits, homemade compot and bread... We received a lot of additional information where to go, where the nice places were. We enjoyed our stay and would go back immediately. Recommendation to everybody!

Review 39:Situated in the small village of Eastleigh the house is an ideal base for exploring the North Devon coast and Exmoor. We felt warmly welcomed by our hosts who made us feel like staying with friends. The room in a nicely transformed cottage was comfortable with state-of-the-art ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was outstanding, cooked to order with locally produced and homemade food. (We should have tried dinner the night before!). The Pines was really worth visiting, next time in Devon we´ll be back.

Review 40:Friendly owners with good local knowledge and recommendations. Lovely old house with a rural outlook. A great breakfast of local produce and fruit from their orchard.

Review 41:on a personal note, we do not particularly like 4 poster beds or the old cast iron baths.

Great breakfast using locally produced products. Local knowledge and advice on local eateries and attractions. The fantastic bathroom and roll top bath in the superior room. Chris and Carol are great hosts

Review 53:Leaving!

Review 54:Chris and Carol genuinely want their guests to enjoy their visit and know how to ensure this will happen. A first class service in all the obvious ways is further enhanced by all the little extra touches - a fire lit in the breakfast room on a grey morning, freshly baked bread still warm and crisp, time spent sharing local information on the best places to go. It's a beautiful location and perfectly placed for exploring north Devon, but it's Chris and Carol themselves that make this such a memorable place to stay.

Review 58:We were made to feel welcome and valued as guests. Far more comfort in the room than an average B&B and the breakfast could not be improved upon, every taste catered for. Quiet surroundings but close to Devon's beautiful countryside and beaches.

Review 59:Even though we arrived at 10 o'clock at night our hosts welcomed us warmly and made us a cup of tea. Our room, and in fact the whole house, was tastefully decorated, and the garden was lovely.Breakfast was cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble. It felt like everything was done thoughtfully and with love. It was a shame we didn't have longer to enjoy our surroundings.

Review 60:Prices for drinks were a little steep with a can of cola costing £2. Other than that can't fault it.

Review 61:The rooms are extremely comfortable and ours had a lovely view over the countryside. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful with good recommendations of places to eat. The grounds are lovely and you are free to roam, we saw woodpeckers and lots of robins in the orchard. We were greeted on arrival with tea and scones and the breakfasts were delicious.

Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and they were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The gardens and surrounding area were lovely.

Review 64:The owners, Chris and Carol were charming and could not do enough for us. The accommodation was wonderful, set in beautifully kept gardens. We were amazed at what the owners have achieved in the period of well under a year and more conversions of outbuildings are planned. It is no surprise they already have a Four Star rating.
