Reviews for Coed y Bryn B&B

Review 1:The bed was very uncomfortable the owner needs to purchase new duvets pillows and duvets it was r last day of walking the pembrokshire coast we were very tied and had out of the whole week of using b and b the worst nights sleep

Review 2:The owner was very friendly

Review 3:Me and my son stayed in the twin room, it doesn't have an ensuite but the bathroom next to the room was only for our use. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Godfrey is lovely, friendly and helpful and can rustle up a top notch breakfast that is served in a lovely sun room. Will definitely use this guest house again next time I'm that way. Very happy :)

Review 4:Lingering smell of smoke throughout the property. Communication with owner could've been smoother. Some noise from the road (it's on the main road into Cardigan). Otherwise okay.

Review 5:Good quality rooms, great wifi and well presented breakfast room. Amenable host.

Review 6:Basically the room and property needs a revamp to bring it into the basic standards I've come to expect from staying in Premier Inns and other such chain hotels across the country. Decor and condition of the room was old and tired, it needed a good airing and a lick of paint all the way through. Don't know how it's got an 8.3 score, which is what I went by to book a room at this property.

Review 7:Friendly host, comfortable bed.

Review 8:Wasn't offered cooked breakfast even though I could see other patrons eating a nice fry up. Also, check in time was really late in the afternoon with a pretty early check out time also.

Review 9:Close distance to the town so was easy to get around. Parking right outside the door was easy to get to.

Review 10:disappointing 'continental' breakfast..it was cheap price but would have paid more for better selection. 7pm latest check-in

Review 11:Great 'full' breakfast Very friendly host Great location

Review 12:The hotel said it was dog-friendly, but the dog wasn't allowed in the breakfast room nor was it allowed to be left in the room alone at any point, so me and my husband had to go down to breakfast separately which was a bit of a pain.

Review 13:The room was lovely and the breakfast was really good.

Review 14:Booked weekend as birthday present for my husband didn't want to travel to far so Cardigan was ideal. We arrived early do had a walk around Cardigan & then booked in at about 4pm. Room was ample with ensuite shower. We went to a pub which was a couple of mins walk, had a lovely meal & drink. Next day did a bit of sightseeing in Aberystwyth, & called back in a couple of villages. Ideal base for travelling around area.

Review 15:Noise from other bedrooms and some from outside.

Review 16:Godfrey - the owner of the place! Location is very convenient Rooms are clean and well kept. Breakfast - very good and abundant Wifi worked well!

Review 17:Nothing to say.

Review 18:The location of the B&B, The comfort of the room and breakfast in lovely surroundings. Our host was able to recommend some wonderful places to see and to eat.

Review 19:The continental breakfast is a big light compared to others; but was certainly sufficient. There's a tinge of cigarette smoke smell in the upper room we stayed in.

Review 20:Location and Godfrey was an interesting host with lots of varied interests and helpful suggestions.

Review 21:Slight downside was, the sea was a bit too far

Review 22:The owner was very friendly, made delicious breakfasts, and had a lot of information from him about places to visit.

Review 23:It was p*issing down with rain when I had to depart on my bicycle. I don't think Godfrey (the owner) was to blame for tis though. Apart from that all was fine.

Review 24:The geezer who owns this gaff is very accommodating.

Review 25:Booking.com gave me the wrong co ords - enough to send me the wrong end of the street, I was tired and it was dark, so not the best of things to happen CORRECT CO-ORDS are: N52° 04.695 W4° 39.472 I am a geocacher and always have GPS on me....

Review 26:The location, price, cleanliness and charming host. The breakfast was lovely. I do not rate a lot of B&B's, but this one is amazing, I would highly recommended. Godfrey gave me a ground floor room as I have a bad knee and cannot do stairs very well, Room 2 was lovely, and I had a great night's sleep.

Review 27:could not fault anything wrong

Review 28:The owner went out of is way to make you feel welcome the room was spotless plenty of tea + coffee facilities, clean towels and because we were meeting friends the owner gave us a key to let ourselves in when we returned.

Review 29:It did smell quite highly of smoke throughout the b&b (not the room)and the conservatory where you have breakfast could be a little bit more well kept.this is nothing against our stay it's just things that could be improved on,especially the smell of smoke.

Review 30:Location is fantastic very easy to find, brilliant value for money, good host and clean room

Review 31:Both days of our visit, hot water for a morning shower was not available until we asked for help from our host and he fixed the problem.

Review 32:Witty and knowledgeable host who provided very helpful information about local area and attractions. Comfortable room and quiet location. Easy to find.

Review 33:Booked this accommodation at short notice but Godfrey had everything ready when we arrived even a joke or three. It was easy to find and in short walking distance to the pubs and town which was great when heading out for dinner and to explore.

Review 34:Right on a main road; bathroom very small and poorly ventilated

Review 35:Sympathetic host; good breakfast (surcharge for English); central location, easy parking in front of the house

Review 36:Although now non smoking the premesis must previously have allowed smokers... The place stinks of smoke and left all of our clothes smelling of smoke for the remainder of our trip. Lacking some bits n bobs: Tea towels and some toiletries would have been nice Geoffrey is very nice in person but can be quite blunt on e-mails, the lack of a late check in past 7.30pm was forbidden, despite paying before arrival we were told if you arrive after 7.30 your not coming in! which given cardigan's travel times from most uk towns is a little tight. Perhaps an external lock box with a key code for late arrivals could be a way round this.?

Review 37:Great location, walking distance to everything you need. dog friendly, chatty friendly host "in person"

Review 38:No soap in shower and should have been a spare toilet roll. Breakfast adequate but would have liked a croissant or crusty roll.

Review 39:Friendly welcoming host. Nice clean room.

Review 40:Good value for money, clean and well located.

Review 41:Comfy bed, spacious room

Review 42:close to town centre so a gentle walk took us there in 10 mins

Review 45:Nothing really

Review 46:the location was excellent

Review 85:Exhaust fan didn't work properly in the bathroom, but minor problem.

Review 86:Wonderful welcome and service from Godfrey, very comfortabe one night stay with breakfast on our tour of the UK

Review 87:Nothing!!

Review 88:We wanted to check in at 8.30 which was past the check in time of 7. However, the owner was waiting patiently for us. Loved his home!! Beautiful place and the dining area overlooking the garden was gorgeous. He even recommended places for dinner and the pub he suggested was awesome!! Loved the stay. Definitely going back for more!!

Review 89:Excellent location, close to the town. Godfrey is an excellent host, he picked me up from the bus and also gave me a lift back when I was leaving. He also printed out walks for me to do while I was there.

Review 90:Good Location, Walking distance to town and to Cardigan's wetland reserve. The room was very clean, freshly refurbished, with a modern shower and a large window. The wi-fi was also fast and free of charge. Cardigan itself is a lovely town, with plenty to visit for anyone interested in nature or history.

Review 91:The lighting was poor. It was hard to read at night. The external lighting/street lighting was annoying.

Review 92:The room was perfectly comfortable and had good facilities. Very pleasant host.

Review 93:Slightly unusual glazed door to conservatory dining room felt a bit exposed. Not of great concern. Separate bathroom might have bothered if staying more than one night.

Review 94:Very clean and modern room and facilities. friendly staff. Walkable to very attractive town.

Review 95:Compared to other B&Bs and hotels, the price was excellent. The continental breakfast was included in the price - we don't eat a big breakfast, so this was great. Very friendly.

Review 96:Lack of an area to smoke. Would have liked the facility to have an earlier breakfast. Malfunctioning shower. Would have liked instant decaff coffee in the room.

Review 97:Tidy, pleasant bedroom. Good location for town. Polite owner.

Review 98:There was nothing I didn't like about it.

Review 99:The welcome and being felt at home as soon as I entered. The location is perfect for me and very quiet surroundings. Excellent Bed & Breakfast.

Review 100:There was nothing that I didn't like.

Review 101:Very comfortable room with all facilities. Helpful and friendly owner who gave useful advice and suggestions that were relevant to my interests. Short distance from the town center.

Review 102:the heater in the room was a bit too high (our fault for not turning it down during the night)

Review 103:the host was very friendly and helpful, he recommended us one of the best restaurants in ceredigion, and otherwise we wouldn't have experienced it.

Review 104:Not at all child friendly place. There was no facility of warming mychild's food or milk.No access to the kitchen microwave.Could notkeep my 2.5 year olds milk in the fridge.. It all got spoilt.Had to openwindow and sleep and keep his milk on the window to keep it cold.. As aresult of this the fire alarm kept on making noise the whole night as itseems it was temperature sensitive! !!! Phew! ! Also the rooms are notquite sound proof. ..As we were a family of four with a naughty toddlerand on holiday, there was a bit of noise than usual and we were told tokeep the volume down as it was disturbing the others. The'others' were just a young couple upstairs who made continuousnoise at night on the hard floor.. So it would be a definate No- No ifyou have a small child..

Review 105:It was a nice homely place with modern clean rooms.

Review 106:A little old in the decor, room could be brighter at night. No hot water kettle in the room.

Review 107:Large and very spacious room. Easy parking right in front of the house. Great dining room. Right off the main road to Cardigan, good jumping off point for exploring the National Park if you have a car. Friendly owner.

Review 108:Godfrey was an excellent host. The room was very clean and comfortableand the breakfast was well presented, promptly served and delicious. TheEagle pub, recommended by Godfrey and just a short walk away, served alovely meal and was relaxed and friendly.

Review 109:Cups and bathroom weren't cleaned every day. Window didn't actually lock and wouldn't totally shut. Upgrade to a cooked breakfast was expensive and not worth the extra £7.50 each.

Review 110:Room was quite nice. Good amount of tea and coffee. Handy for getting into Cardigan. Plenty of parking. Owner was friendly

Review 111:In no doubt wanting to feel inclusive smoking is allowed in the accommodation and as such the whole building smells of cigarette smoke. The accommodation is close to the main "A" road and as such there is a constant background of traffic noise that only goes away late into the evening.

Review 112:The host Godfrey is a gem very helpful and knowledgeable of the town of Cardigan you are made to feel very welcome

Review 113:Nothing

Review 114:Perfect location with only a short walk into Cardigan, plenty of scope for shopping and meals/drinks. Host of excellent character running a very comfortable and well maintained establishment

Review 115:The tv screen in the bedroom was so small and difficult to see!

Review 116:The room was neat, clean. And comfortable. The host was very friendlyand helpful. It was close to a pub that had excellent home cooked food.

Review 117:Croissants from a plastic packet. Fresh bread from the bakers in Cardigan would be preferable! (A small quibble only)

Review 118:Owner very helpful. Dining room had lots of amazing plants. Room very nice and a free upgrade.

Review 119:The double bed in the front room could be improved on.

Review 120:The accomodation, wasbright, cheery and friendly, and the breakfastexcellent, and the host went the extra mile to make you feel at home.

Review 121:No toiletries in room and as we were backpacking along coastal path, these would be useful. Fortunately we had some but one has to considerweight when walking. Also, for vegetarian breakfast, just omittedsausage, bacon and no other option offered.

Review 122:Friendly and pub locally recommended - good value.

Review 123:Godfrey was a wonderful host who gave us a fabulous breakfast. The location was good, only a short distance into town. We were given a good recommendation for a great place for dinner which was very friendly and hospitable.

Review 124:Lovely, airy room (one of us needed to study for part of our stay and the pleasant room was ideal for this). Great breakfast! Friendly owner. Handy location for surrounding activities (next to wildlife park, short walking distance from river, shops and pubs/cafes, few minutes bus-ride to beautiful Poppit Sands beach)
