Reviews for Gwbert Hotel
Review 1:Service in the restaurant was a bit slow so don't be in hurry! !
Review 2:Lovely small but well run hotel with great restaurant which the locals enjoy too. Views across the bay are stunning. Rooms are very well equipped and comfortable. Will definitely stay again
Review 3:The shower would I think have benefited from a rail to support yourself, but this is merely an observation and not a criticism.
Review 4:Beautiful setting, with a lovely sea view from our room. Comfortable clean room good breakfasts and evening meals in bistro restaurant very generous.Friendly helpful staff.
Review 5:Not really a negative, but quite a way out of town.
Review 6:Helpful staff. Great room with view. Quiet. Great water pressure and lots of hot water in a spotless bathroom.
Review 7:Bedroom rather cramped for a double room excellent for a single room for younger and fitter clients.
Review 8:The location. Staff in dining room were friendly although I did see floor cleaning being carried out whilst tables were laid.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:The rooms were very comfortable with outstanding views. We loved the arm chairs in the window to sit and enjoy the view. Spotlessly clean and all the facilities you could possibly need available.
Review 11:More variety in the dinner menu - could be done by having ,specials of the day. Noisy in the bar when busy. Dodgy and slow lift
Review 12:Sea view; helpful staff
Review 13:We were given a very small room (22) Which we asked to be changed. We had asked for a sea view which this had but through a very small window. However the new room was better (2 windows) from which we had a lovely sea view.
Review 14:Relaxed atmosphere, good food.
Review 15:Staff in restaurant seemed to chat with each other a lot. Supervisor at dinner talked with a mouth full of chewing gum! Yuck. Generally staff seemed helpful and pleasant in a rushed way.
Review 16:Sea views. Relaxed atmosphere. Good modern furnished single room.
Review 17:Restaurant was fully booked for dinner on our first night, but manager went out of his way to find us a table.
Review 18:Coastal location and we had one of the bay window rooms facing west, superb views.
Review 19:Noise from bar and terrace as room directly over it. Room needs renovating, especially bathroom poor shower, tatty sofa etc. no tissues ! Not what I consider to be a suite!
Review 20:View of sea from bay window
Review 21:Food ! Awful. Saw it arrive on a refrigerated/freezer truck in the morning. Sent it back and so did the table next door. How can you do burgers, curry, pasta, fish, duck and be taken seriously? same price as London so not cheap. Breakfast rubbish too. Need lovely, fresh food supplied by local farmers.
Review 22:Sea view was stunning. Awsome sunset. Evening bar and restaurant staff fantastic
Review 23:Parking was an issue as the Restaurant is very popular and open to non residents but the Car Park is small so if you went out and came back by evening could not park easily, in fact we only just managed to park on arrival. An issue for people with disabilities, large cases or small children.
Review 24:Food was very good indeed and the breakfast was really lovely .
Review 25:WiFi did not work in room 10. Small room with small window (lovely view though). Local beers in the bar would be interesting and more local seafood on the menu would be good. Diners tend to use the car-park so often guests miss out on a space. Tired exterior and windows. Soap canisters need filling or removing.
Review 26:Watching dolphins at breakfast. Beautiful views over bay. Nice staff and a really good breakfast with attentive waitress. Manager very gracious and helpful when I had an issue. He was keen to help and make us happy. Great sunset from the terrace.
Review 27:The WiFi needs beefing up as kept going in and out and this may impact business travellers who may rely on a consistent link
Review 28:Great views and bedroom facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good. As a leisure traveller we will be going back
Review 29:NOT A GREAT MATTRESS...AND ALSO UNPLEASANT SEWER TYPE SMELL IN BATHROOM....(I WAS LOCATED AT TOP OF BUILDING)
Review 30:CLEAN, GOOD SHOWER,VIEW FROM ROOM OF THE SEA, GOOD BREAKFAST
Review 31:couple of lighter options on the menu perhaps but really nothing
Review 32:location amazing, staff friendly, nice room, good breakfast, going to stay there again
Review 33:The luxury suite at £140/night was a VERY basic room with the addition of a 2 seater couch! Bed/pillows were very poor quality and delivered no rest for any of our party of 10 guests! Curtains failed to meet and were too light to exclude the sunrise anyway! Generally the hotel is not maintained well and lacks professional management... Very disappointing... expected a lot more.
Review 34:Leaving was the most enjoyable part in afraid to say.
Review 35:Needs abit of tlc in bathroom & on outside , but wouldn't stop us from returning
Review 36:The restaurant & bar makes you want to eat & drink there , food very good , stunning views , & friendly staff
Review 37:Location of family room
Review 38:We were firstly put in a beautiful sea veiw room but it only had a double bed and so we were offered a family room which wasn't as nice and a bit noisy as over reception and pool room but was fine as only there one night
Review 39:The weather was unkind to us :-)
Review 40:Nice room with lovely views (room 11), a big comfortable bed, good breakfast and tasty evening meals. All the staff was friendly and helpful, with the exception of one, the man at the desk when we checked out.
Review 41:The shower was soo small you could hardly get in it. And once in it youcouldn't move .. and the thermostat was awkward, the water was cold.Luckily we also had a bath!
Review 42:We loved the hotel. The room was extremely comfortable. The breakfastwas fabulous.. Extremely good value for money.
Review 43:We found Thebes and pillows too firm for our liking may suit other guests though
Review 44:The location was so lovely, the staff were happy and friendly couldn't fault them The food in the Bistro was tasty along with a lovely plentiful breakfast I would like to rerun out room with a sea view was perfect!
Review 45:There was some mould in the bedroom above the window. shower took some time to heat up.
Review 46:The hotel manager was very helpful, the breakfast was excellent again staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 47:a) the wifi was slow and kept dropping out in thebedroom b) room 20 is really nice and quite big, so it needs another radiator as it can be cold in winter
Review 48:Overall an excellent hotel, great food, nice room and helpful staff
Review 49:The bedroom had a sea view, but the window was so dirty it was difficult to appreciate it. (2nd floor).
Review 50:This hotel is a good find. Lovely view, friendly staff, good food, comfortable all round. The bar/dining area has a panoramic view of the Teifi estuary, and we sat in the bay window for hours enjoying it and a few drinks. Success all round.
Review 51:Nothing.
Review 52:Location looking over bay was great especially having a room looking over the ocean. Cooked fresh breakfast was great. Having a stand alone shower.
Review 53:We weren't happy with the continuous breakdown of the lift or it's failure to operate consistently. The staff were attentive and were at hand to resolve problem very quickly.
Review 54:The room was roomy and comfortable. The view was superb across the river estuary. The meals were worth the visit alone. The shower provided a consistent level of heat. The room was cleaned and the coffee and biscuits replenished daily. We are an early to bed and early to rise family and became aware that the 'self closing' doors to the rooms did so with a loud bang, in some instances. We took care to ensure our door closed without a bang; other guests were less considerate.
Review 55:The room was lovely.the bar very comfortable and the food in theBistro was excellent.matched any of the many fine hotels and restaurants we have visited previously.
Review 56:rooms small and somewhat old fashioned although comfortable
Review 57:location food in restaurant very good; very popular with locals staff very accomodating view of ocean from room
Review 58:This hotel is in a great place for getting to many parts of the beautiful welsh countryside. Costal walks and wild life so near. The staff so very friendly and the restaurant first class.
Review 59:Wifi terrible! We had a room overlooking carpark, so allocated breakfast table would've been nice to be in the window for at least one morning. Should rotate the allocated tables, or maybe give rooms without sea view, window seats with sea views for breakfast.
Review 60:Location and views great Nice food
Review 61:No complaints at all.
Review 62:The view from our comfortable room was great - we could just sit there gazing out at the sea! The breakfasts were cooked to order and fresh and delicious. Onsite parking good too. We ate at the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it lovely outside terrace for drinks.Would stay again.
Review 63:Some rooms appear to need a bit of decorating touch ups in places (small tea/coffee stain on wall, unfinished seals around toilets / sink, looks a bit untidy) Hard pillows (at least on the bed we were in)
Review 64:Excellent Food Friendly Staff Beautiful surroundings & views Reasonably priced
Review 65:May be would be nice to have a bottle of water available in the room.
Review 66:Fantastic location with much to do around the area. Really enjoyed my visit to the the cardigan Island costal farm which is but a short walk or drive away from the hotel. Also walked to the local golf course near the other hotel and the views are breathtaking - especially the sunsets. The food was fantastic with a great breakfast. Staff very friendly. Overall a really lovely stay.
Review 67:4 sizeable house spiders sharing son's pillow/our room, which overlooked the car park.
Review 68:Wonderful view from restaurant, especially when tide is out. Marvellous menu - busy restaurant - we heard that same owner has now bought The Cliff Hotel next door?
Review 69:We used the Cliff Hotel Spa, shame we had to pay for it as i assumed both hotels were one management now. Spa was great though but surely customers should not have to pay extra, even though i tried booking the Cliff Hotel for our break but was fully booked..
Review 70:Lovely hotel break, wish we had stayed longer. All staff so polite and friendly. Restaurant food excellent and plenty of of menu choices.Keep up the good work see you again very soon.
Review 71:Absolutely nothing :-)
Review 72:Attentive staff always ready to help, quick efficient bar service, amazing menu and food quality, stunning views from the restaurant and balcony - that got even better from the front room we had; massive comfortable bed and clean tidy rooms....... what's not to like.
Review 73:Noise late at night from people leaving hotel into car park. Cars with engines running in car park heard for some time as window overlooked car park. Noise from other guests on landing at gone midnight woke my daughter up. Staff not over friendly upon check in or in bar. Was charged for drinks I didnt have and had to askfor this to be amended.
Review 74:Breakfast. Lovely views from breakfast room and outside of hotel.
Review 75:I didn't have a sea view room, but was allocated window seat at breakfast. Not sure if that is hotel policy for those with car park views. If not it should be.
Review 76:Excellent views and great restaurant. Extremely busy Friday night and food quality was superb. Basic gym but sauna and whirlpool were superb. Could get wifi all over hotel.
Review 77:not one thing comes to mind.
Review 78:amazing location, very nice rooms, very attentive staff, amazing food, all in all an excellent hotel, will be going back again.
Review 79:Because of it's popularity the Flat Rock restaurant was very very busy with a wait of more than 30mintes between the first and second courses. The staff were unruffled and full of charm in spite of the numbers and the heat. However mistakes were made as we were charged for seven desserts that we hadn't consumed. We only discovered this after asking for an itemised bill when we checked out.
Review 80:The helpfulness of the staff and the facillities
Review 81:Good views from our room which was spacious and clean with a king size bed. We had a nice meal in the restaurant which had a good atmosphere and was reasonably priced. Also liked the outside terrace/deck where we had a very pleasant drink in the afternoon sun.
Review 82:no real complaints
Review 83:Booking in was simple, the room was small but we where only there for one night,so this did not bother us. We ate in the restaurant & the food was excellent & the service was fine, breakfast was O.K. but nothing like the night time food.
Review 84:Breakfast was only OK

Review 100:Didn't like the machine coffee in the morning. More fresh fruit would have been nice but overall the food was vey good.
