Reviews for Browns Hotel
Review 1:A bit more thought in the design would be beneficial. i.e. the shaver socket in the bathroom was on a wall with no mirror and no shelf to put a charging shaver on. Hanging space was insufficient for two people.
Review 2:The hotel is in the heart of Dartmouth just a couple of minutes walk to the harbour. The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meal was limited in choice but superbly cooked. Breakfast too was excellent.
Review 3:nothing
Review 4:When you get it right its right and the owners have just done that. nicely decorated excellent service nothing was an issue. We only had breakfast but the yogurt was home made and the kippers were a delight
Review 5:Our one night was interrupted by noisy arguments outside the pub opposite but not the fault of the hotel; just unfortunate.
Review 6:Excellent geographic location for getting around Dartmouth. Cheery welcome. Staff very friendly and attentive throughout. Good value for the area.
Review 7:Room should be around £70-£80, not &145. Restaurat is 4 star, for rooms indulgent 3 stars.
Review 8:Very nice staff, breakfast is excellent, location is good
Review 9:Personal touches from owner - local recommendations, free hot & pre/post dinner drinks on bar's closed night (Monday). Would stay here again & recommend it.
Review 10:Overpriced small room not suitable for more than one night (room 7). This is an 8 roomed B and B not a hotel. Broken single pane window that did not close with seagull nest 5 m. outside not a good ingredient for a restful night due to noise. Not what one would expect for the price. Room only worth £95/night not £145 being charged.
Review 11:Excellent Breakfast and Tapas . Newly modernised bathroom Friendly staff.
Review 12:We have been staying in the local area for many years when visiting family. This was by far the best place we have stayed in a long time and will definitely be looking to stay again.
Review 13:Having to collect tea/coffee makings from the landing.
Review 14:Ideal place to stay with good location, very comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. Only sorry we weren't able to take advantage of being able to eat in the Brasserie due to our family celebration.
Review 15:My family and I had the absolute pleasure of being attended to by Imogen and Leann during our stay at Browns Hotel. It would be remiss of me not to mention that these young ladies were exceptional in their customer service delivery! They are truly an asset to the team at Browns! Ladies, I thank you on behalf of my family for the most comfortable stay ever!
Review 16:Fantastically hospitable hotel. Very charming and friendly service and generous touches to ensure full enjoyment of the hotel facilities. Highly recommended.
Review 17:the hotel did not look like it did on the internet rooms are small but basic the wardrobe was a curtain across some shelves and a rail
Review 18:good location in the town centre
Review 19:The only thing i didn't like was having to leave!
Review 20:The location was superb. The decor was hip and in the evening we enjoyed a drink relaxing in front of the fire and later tried some delicious very novel cuisine (we had the seafood). The staff were exceptionally helpful and happy to cater to individual health needs. The beds were very comfortable (having had back surgery I can vouch for this!) Would definitely stay there again.
Review 21:Parking was a short stroll away. Not a problem out of season.
Review 22:Staff were exceptionally pleasant and well informed. Loved contemporary design adding up to comfort and style.
Review 23:Noisy boiler comes on at 6.00am below room 6, not a good nights sleep.
Review 24:All very good, food particularly breakfast, staff very helpful but not persistent, just a nice relaxed feel to the place.
Review 25:Lack of evening meal on week days and no on-site car park. The latter can be a problem for disabled residents.
Review 26:Central position, very comfortable bed, large bedroom, relaxed and informal atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast with home made marmalade, jams and yoghourt. Free parking 5 mins walk away. What more could you ask for in what is essentially a bed and breakfast hotel except for evening meals at weekends.

Review 70:Very nice boutique hotel with cool, modern feel with great food and hospitality. Highly recommended. We had dogs with us and they took the time to produce a map to show where the locals went, along stunning cliff tops. We arrived late (10pm) and the staff called us prior to our arrival to ensure we were ok; they couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. Wanted to stay longer and will definitely go back for more! Complimentary hildon bottled water on arrival and caftieres with fresh coffee available 24/7 - nice touches.
Review 71:Even allowing for peak season and good location, it was overpriced, especially as the hotel did not have its own car park.
Review 72:Very welcoming and friendly staff. Well appointed room. Good breakfast. Good location for exploring Dartmouth.
Review 73:No labels on tea and coffee outside rooms, couldn't tell what they were.
Review 74:All staff were very helpful. The parking permit was also most helpful. The overall feel of the hotel was one of calm and really added to the enjoyment of the trip. Would stay again.
Review 75:Noisy seagulls at the rear of the hotel but they didn't prevent us from having a good night's sleep!
Review 76:Very friendly, welcoming staff. Nicely and stylishly decorated. We asked for a quiet room and got one! Breakfast was excellent, fresh, well-cooked and local ingredients. We loved being able to walk out the door and be right in the middle of Dartmouth. Also, have a parking permit solved all the usual worry about what to do with the car. Overall, we felt that the staff really cared that we should have a good time.
Review 77:Overall this is a very basic bb should not be called hotel it is certainly poor value for money
