Reviews for Cherubs Nest

Review 1:Stayed there twice and haven't had a bad experience. Shame they couldn't do anything about the weather last time but it was December.

Review 2:It's a small, basic, clean and friendly guesthouse and you get exactly what you need - bed, breakfast and ensuite. Yes, the ensuite is very small but it is adequate. If you want posh pay twice as much for a hotel in the area. Central to everything. Very friendly owners. Breakfasts are great. Excellent value for money. Stayed there twice when going to BRNC and couldn't have found a better choice for the money.

Review 3:Furnishings, carpeting etc were a little 'tired' and didn't quite live up to price paid for room (end of Oct) TV at one side of bed - so impossible to watch from one side of double bed

Review 4:Location - one street back from seafront, easy access & parking, lovely pub next door Cleanliness Comfortable bed Plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits

Review 5:Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Review 6:We loved everything about the B&B. It was comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything you would expect from a Grade 2 Listed building dating back to the 1700's. We look forward to our next stay. Thank you to mine hosts Bev and Geoff.

Review 7:The en-suite was so small especially the basin, you could hardly get your hands in. Awful, and we are slim people.

Review 8:Location, and room and linen good. People pleasant, and liked communal dining table

Review 9:The twin room we had booked (the last room available) was on the third floor up a narrow staircase. To say the room was small was an understatement - there was no room to open our suitcases except on the bed. The 'en-suite' was obviously once a cupboard. The standing space was about 24"X24" with a toilet on the right and a shower on the left which was about a foot higher than the floor. As an older couple neither of us was able to get up into it. In the middle was a minute wash basin. It was totally unsuitable for us. We left the next morning after agreeing to pay for two of the four nights we had booked. We did not stay for breakfast as we had to look for another room elsewhere. This was definitely not a good experience.

Review 10:Reception friendly Very clean

Review 11:The small en -suite was fine for us but could be tricky for anyone larger.

Review 12:The location was very central and Bev was very welcoming despite our late arrival. Our room was comfortable and Jeff's breakfasts were delicious.

Review 13:The toilet / shower room was tiny! You can brush your teeth whilst sitting on the loo - which is not a good idea!

Review 14:Excellent central location, friendly staff and pretty little bedroom. Comfy bed.

Review 15:Tiny shower room and parking could be a problem bit this is a very old house in an ancient town

Review 16:Friendly host; good value; comfy beds; pretty house; central location; you can book for room only if you wish

Review 17:Plumbing problem in loo, which was sorted while we were there, (landlord did buy us a drink). Went down to breakfast at given time and were sent back to our room as nowhere for us to sit as full, had to wait for people to finish eating.

Review 18:Location and breakfast

Review 19:We didn't like the stairs, my wife just couldn't cope, also theroom was very small. The length of the room was the width of a bed.Breakfast excellent plenty of choice.

Review 20:Staff. And owners very nice we left early because of my wife not beingable to manage stairs. Appreciated not having to pay full amount, whichwe expected to do. Very fair!

Review 21:NONE

Review 22:Really clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were terrific with fruit, cereal, etc. and a great "Full English". A really 'homely' place and great value for money.

Review 23:The pillows were too hard for me, but would probably be OK for others. The room was very small (room 4: twin bedded) and it would have been impossible for both occupants to see the TV from their beds. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen and the sink was so tiny that the water went everywhere and it was difficult to fill the kettle. I wouldn't have minded if the price had been right, but I felt that it was not worth what we paid for it. I am not very sociable in the morning and did not particularly like having to eat breakfast in such close proximity to the other guests. Also, breakfast is only served between 8 and 9, which was too early for us, and it would have been nice to have been offered porridge or kippers or something a bit more imaginative.

Review 24:The location is excellent. The breakfast itself was very good and of high quality.

Review 25:We were welcomed from the very minute we stepped in. Shown to our room, which was most adequate for our stay. Everything very clean and tidy. I loved the fact that at breakfast all the guests sat at one dining table. Everyone was very chatty. A good choice of cereal, fruit and yogurt. The cooked breakfasts were great, and you could select whatever you wanted. Our hosts were very friendly from day one. Would definitely stay here again. Very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Review 26:Problems with wifi while we were there but this was temporary. The washbasin was very small and the bathroom a little snug

Review 27:Location, breakfasts including the communal table, cleanliness and sociability of our hosts

Review 28:Car parking horrendous. Dartmouth TC really ought to get their act together on this. The P+R is efficient, but phone payment is disfunctional, and will not handle payments appropriate for overnight parking.

Review 29:Excellent location, friendly/helpful hosts, good room decoration/fittings, good breakfast.

Review 30:Room very cramped, but used to best advantage.

Review 31:Location excellent, freedom to come and go as pleased, tea making facilities, good shower, TV, wardrobe space good. Car parking permit very useful and needed.

Review 32:Room very small. Noisy extractor fan next door ,right next to our window ( room 2 ) & strong food smells. Shower tiny.

Review 33:Location very central. Clean &quirky !

Review 34:We loved the position of the guests house, in one of the oldest parts of Dartmouth, Jeff and Beverley couldn't do enough and where very helpful with our questions about Dartmouth.

Review 35:Sitting at one table with other guests for breakfast we found very strange The "bathroom" is very small and has a shower, the Saniflo system is very noisy and at times smelly

Review 36:A very good location and nice breakfast. The bedroom was well decorated.

Review 37:Owners very cheerful and helpful. Lovely group of people staying. Central to everywhere. Good value for money. Parking permit was very handy. Breakfast brilliant.

Review 38:The shower room and the dining room both very cramped. One small communal table. Breakfast bacon very salty and white toast cold. parking difficult.

Review 39:Good central position.

Review 40:Too many stairs for my wife.

Review 41:Location great and the car parking very good at £3.50 per day. Arranged by the B&B. B'feast could not have been better.

Review 42:The bathroom was so small it only had 1/4 size sink you could not turn around in there. Breakfast (not advertised) was a tiny communal table all guests squashed around it. We never bothered, really not for us. Beware they only clean your room if you ask them too!

Review 43:The location

Review 44:Yes my wife needed to use the loos and asked in the library/tea room where they were only to get a curt reply that they were upstairs and that we should leave a donation. unlike everyone else in Dartmouth the gentleman on the reception I am sure will not help the tourist trade in the town.

Review 45:We visited family and Greenway via boat. Excellent few days away.

Review 46:We had the twin room and found the beds to be very uncomfortable. Ensuite so small that to bend down and use the tiny sink you had to open the door to the bedroom or sit on the loo. If you are a larger person using the loo is a challenge

Review 47:Position is great for town, restaurants and river front. Owner very fair and understanding.

Review 48:Ensuite bathroom too small. Hand basin very small, hard to use other than to wash hands and clean teeth. However, shower worked well.

Review 49:Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice and presented well. Quiet location yet in the centre of the town.

Review 50:The shower was not very powerful.

Review 51:Friendly staff, charming room, great breakfast, easy access. A lovely B and B that is certainly good value for money and to a high standard.

Review 52:Room rather small for 2 people but fine for a short stay. No parking at the property but you might be lucky in the street nearby! Would have liked an option for a late breakfast at the weekend (i.e. after 9am)

Review 53:Kind and very helpful hosts, excellent breakfast, central location but still quite quiet at night. Property has bags of historic character.

Review 54:parking was a problem - bet its even worse in the summer. Bathroom was functional but very small.

Review 55:nice central location, friendly attentive owners and a great breakfast

Review 56:Nothing everything was cood

Review 57:Great location, lovely friendly owners, made to feel very welcome and that nothing was too much for them, room compact but comfortable Nd very clean

Review 58:Friendly welcome, fab location, wonderful breakfast, easy parking arrangements, Bev and Geoff made my stay in Dartmouth very enjoyable, they were very flexible and accommodating when my date of arrival changed last minute and I look forward to staying again. 10/10

Review 59:Front door opens directly onto street with occasional passing traffic. Could be dangerous if inattentive. A steep climb to room up quite narrow stairs. Landings could usefully be freed of furniture for easier access with cases. Door to our bedroom needed a heave to open and good do with planing

Review 60:Position good and breakfast excellent. Very comfortable. Parking was available close to hotel but this will not always be so in a busy town and unregulated street.

Review 61:Room 2 was very small for a double and en suite cramped. Poor outlook to opposite side of narrow street.

Review 62:Breakfast was first class, as was the service from Aileen. The place was clean and tidy and we appreciated free wi fi. We were made very welcome with easy going atmosphere.

Review 63:Top floor room and en-suite is VERY small. sitting on the toilet requires suppleness and slim physique! Not sure about the fire escape from the upper floors. Beware of car park booking. This doesnt guarantee a space and the town car parks are very busy and quite small. Prepare for the park and ride!

Review 64:Location, breakfast, hospitality of hosts

Review 65:Although pleasant, the room was very small so we kept bumping in to each other. The bed was small by current standards.

Review 66:The B&B has a good central location with nearby on-street parking (but you may have to look for it!). The hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast was good - though you all sit round a single table.

Review 67:No reception, very poor parking, impossible to park outside or near to the motel.. We did have a parking permit, but it wasn't any good as there was no parking available at the time. Finally managed to find a space when a car pulled out...

Review 68:The breakfast was nice, and the location was near to the harbour.

Review 69:The stairs inside are quite steep. The room we had was very small and could do with updating, but it had everything we needed. Trying to find it when we arrived. Difficulty in parking.

Review 70:The location. The breakfast was very good.

Review 71:Hot water somewhat erratic. Parking is extremely difficult and this should be made clear. Beds very hard to our taste.

Review 72:Friendly hosts who were knowledgable about the local area. Perfrect central location. Excellent breakfast.

Review 73:The smallest bathroom I've ever come across.

Review 74:The owners were really friendly and helpfull, and made us all feel welcome. All visitors breakfast together at one dining table, therefore we chatted with people we would probably have just said "good morning" to. This turned out to be very interesting.

Review 75:We stayed in room 1. It stated on your website that it has an En-suite, and I wonder if anyone from Booking.com have ever even visited Cherubs Nest, because if they had, they would no it was the size of a cloakroom. You had to open the shower door to wash your feet, it was difficult to brush your teeth without banging your head on the shelf above the tiny wash hand basin. You could barely turn around in it.

Review 76:THE LOCATION. AND I ASKED FOR PORRIDGE FOR BREAKFAST (which was not on the menu) AND THIS WAS PROVIDED FOR OUR 6 DAY STAY

Review 77:Odd noise from bathroom all night caused disturbed sleep

Review 78:Warm cosy room, comfy bed, excellent breakfast
