Review 1:A very nice country pub with friendly. cosy family atmosphere. Food was excellent and they also serve a nice pint. A great place for a quiet midweek stay.

Review 3:Very clean and friendly staff been before and will be going again. I visit my relatives in Darlington and tried a few around that area but this is a gem

Review 4:Very little, if I have to be hyper critical the noise from the water supply pumps.

Review 5:We were welcomed as though we were part of the family, everything was clean and the food was very good with more than ample portions.

Review 6:Upset that the info. sent to the proprietor did not appear to comply with the Data protection Act(re encryption of personal details). Should I worry this applies to all recent bookings? Minor concern-your forwarding of a message from the proprietor to me failed to be complete twice.

Review 7:location good for our purposes(wedding nearby) interesting village and area and building.

Review 8:Just the sort of village hotel I was looking for, clean and friendly but a bit noisy from our bedroom on 1 st floor above bar and restaurant area where a group of 17 had a dinner. We had a very well provided breakfast with lots of fresh fruit etc. attractive quiet village , lovely walks in the area

Review 15:The bathroom toilet had hairs and dried urine stains and the outside of the shower had not been cleaned. The bedside tables had dried cup stains on them and run marks down them, as if something had been spilt. The door to the bathroom had splill marks down them as well. The mirror on the dressing table was dirty and need a good clean.

Review 16:It was in a great location for North Yorkshire and was in a very quiet village. The breakfast was very good. The room was big and loads of space for your clothing, the tv was out of the ark and took ages to work.
