Reviews for 1 Park Row
Review 1:While my room was good, the room shared by my sister and her husband was less so. You had to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom. The bedroom (which was in the older part of the house) had low ceilings and beams, so it was easy to hit one's head. The television did not work very well (though it did in my room). The breakfast provided was pretty basic, though that might have been because it was Christmas. The lady of the couple running the place was friendly, but her husband seemed a bit bad-tempered on day of arrival.
Review 2:My room (in the Georgian part of the house) was comfortable and well-equipped. The building has a lot of charm. The area is pretty.
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:Steve and Julie were very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Facilities and room were both lovely and just what was required. Would certainly recommend.
Review 5:Access to the bedroom through the bathroom. Bedroom gloomy. Shared bathroom one floor up from single room, and the hot tap did not work. Microwaved croissant. Lack of antique furniture in a charming old house.
Review 6:The hosts and the multitasking message in the kitchen
Review 7:An old house with steep narrow stairs and aloe doorway into the bedroom upon which I banged my head several times despite the duck sign.
Review 8:Friendly obliging staff. The area itself. The bathroom
Review 9:It wasn't explained clearly that the people who normally run the B&B were away and a different couple were standing in for a few weeks. It was very confusing, especially as I had received emails signed from them the day before staying!
Review 10:Very comfy bed and fresh fruit at breakfast was a treat.
Review 11:Would have been good to have had a water bottle made available in room, or access to drinking water during night. Am sure was available but I wasn't told
Review 12:Lovely breakfast - lots of choice of cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt a, teas and coffees. Very friendly staff and welcoming.
Review 13:I was trapped in my room, couldn't open the door. Had to use mobile for a help which I had never experienced before! Instantly, I was rescued!,,,
Review 14:Location
Review 15:The welcome was non-existent and access to the address difficult. We never met the "hosts". All was anonymous and indifferent.
Review 16:Bed was a fair size and theroom was comfortable.
Review 17:We had room 2 and it was really good and with a nice old style atmosphere. The only disadvantage was the low doorway between the bedroom and toilet, I think I run into it 4-5 times before I learned. The breakfast was really good even though "Full English" wasn't included. The B&B is also close to several good bars and restaurants.
Review 18:I have stayed at No 1 Park Row several times and am always impressed by the warm welcome and peaceful ambience. Excellent bedrooms, fantastic position in the centre of lovely Farnham and a good buffet breakfast - will be back again later in the year.
Review 19:Very friendly and attentive welcome. Lovely period property and pretty, if rather snug, bedroom. Generous continental breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit available.
Review 20:Excellent location for town centre and cleanliness. The owners of the B&B were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast set up... sharing a large table, continental style, with other guests led to interesting conversation.
Review 21:Friendly helpful landlady. Comfortable accommodation. A couple of my friends were envious I had managed to book a room as it was their favourite B&B.
Review 22:Absentee owners and property left in hands of on competent house sitters who could not even organise the inadequate self service breakfast, e.g. No milk. Central heating in bathroom at uncomfortable high temperature with no means of regulating - advised to leave window open. Absolute chaos.
Review 23:Location only
Review 24:Nothing to complain about - elderly or less mobile folk note that the stairs could be challenging.
Review 25:Just about everything was good - especially the welcoming hosts.
Review 26:The B&B was being looked after by house sitters The breakfast was continental and poor - we went across to Bills restaurant it felt dirty an unkept especially kitchen and entrance
Review 27:location
Review 28:Uncomfortable bed, too soft. Ensuite very small and in need of upgrade. Breakfast was only continental but a reasonable variety of food nonetheless.
Review 29:Location. Price
Review 30:Even if I was there for 1 night it really felt I was on holiday. I felt very relaxed in 1 Park Row. The staff is welcoming and polite. It will be a good memory.
Review 31:The Inn keeper was away on a trip, so they hired a service to come in and take over. Very unkept (grimmy) to the point I did not want to touch anything. The room was dirty and generic, and parking was 5 blocks away. We skipped breakfast as it was a help yourself cold cereal and juice. 2 Star out of 5 at best!
Review 32:Nothing!
Review 33:It was too hot in my bed and there was no alternative to the duvet. I had an uncomfortable night. The WiFi connection was very unstable.
Review 34:The staff were welcoming and pleasant, the facilities were clean and accommodating, the breakfast was very nice and the proximity to the purpose of my visit was a great advantage.
Review 35:Whats not to like its inexpensive . its nice and clean . its friendly. breakfast is everything you want . its in the main part of farnham .
Review 36:Good clean b&b ,friendly owners ,just a nice environment , highly recommend if you want a sort stay in farnham .
Review 37:The body/hair shower gel is a good idea as I do not like the idea of wasting leftover shampoos, but there was no conditioner which I needed; no tissues in the room; small desk (well, there wasn't much room).
Review 38:Homely atmosphere; historic building; renovated freshness; close to Farnham Park
Review 39:Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and facilities within room fine. Breakfast was basic but lovely. Good price too, and right in the town centre.
Review 40:Helpful staff, good location. Old building near the centre of this lovely old town, but parking on the road 100 metres away was easier than I feared - and you have till 10 to move the vehicle.
Review 41:Very steep stairs, no mention of this when booking and no handrail on first flight. Wifi was intermittent gave up in the end and no complimentary toiletries as advertised so glad I did pack some. No tissues in the room which would have been nice.
Review 42:Location, friendly atmosphere
Review 43:Being an old house, you could hear the other guests coming and going - but it didn't bother me too much. The benefits of the room outweighed any disadvantages.
Review 44:The lovely hosts. The history of the house and the comfortable room. The lovely view from my room over looking the green.
Review 45:The welcome when we arrived and at breakfast. Plenty of choice at breakfast. The room was spotless and the bed was comfy. Location is great for the station, the university and shops.
Review 46:Breakfast was just a continental with only instant coffee. Fine and included fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast, packet pastries etc but wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the stay.
Review 47:Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, charming house, excellent location, good value.
Review 48:It was being looked after by a couple (house sitting) while owners away. No problem with that. But had no info about where we could park our car. At breakfast (DIY continental, no meats or cheeses) kettle, microwave, toaster. The bread had mould growing on it. When it was pointed out the guy in charge popped to the shop. The room was clean enough,Fairly basic. Anyhow it served our purpose for 1 night.
Review 49:Excellent friendly owners who couldn't do enough to make my stay comfortable.I would highly recomend this B&B to anyone and will definitely stay here again
Review 50:Socket location and position in room 4 made it really difficult to plug in the hairdryer and had to sit on the floor next to the bed which was very awkward. I booked for a twin but my colleague could not come so I emailed 4 days in advance of arriving to tell them this and see what could be arranged. No reply. I could have cancelled for free at this point but thought they would offer me a reasonable discount or a single room, but they only took £10 off my bill of £156 for 2 nights! This was apparently because booking.com taking 20% fee and they couldn't take off any more. A single room is only £90 for two nights on their website and one was available when I stayed but not offered to me! I received an email from the hotel prior to reservation and after my stay calling me Graham which I found quite off putting and unprofessional as that is not my name or my gender! On reflection I should have cancelled and booked elsewhere. Buffet style help yourself is not acceptable for this price range. Not sure I would stay again despite 'Graham' receiving a 10% discount if he books again directly!
Review 51:location, cleanliness, nice room, wonderful shower, nice fruit at breakfast, good wifi conneciton.
Review 52:Would have liked the option of a cooked breakfast as you presume this is what a B&B offer. However what was provided was amazing, fresh pastries, various breads and fruit.
Review 53:Warm welcome and comfortable surroundings. The location to the centre of Farnham is fantastic, with lots of restaurants on the doorstep.
Review 54:difficult to find breakfast - no hot cooked food or fresh coffee (instant granules)
Review 55:central location comfy beds luxurious decor friendly, helpful staff
Review 56:A great stay, magnificent hosts. The Loft Room is actually a small studio apartment with separate settee area and a large shower room. The breakfast was the best I've had in a B+B in many years - raspberries fresh from the garden a lovely touch! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit Somerset - perfect as a base.
Review 57:Lovely B+B in a great location, very close to all the shops and bars etc but not too close for comfort. Felt very welcome. Ample continental style breakfast. Have family in the area that recommended we stayed here as opposed to the hotels in the area. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 58:Negotiating winding stairs while intoxicated. Small price to pay for a great overall experience.
Review 59:An excellent b and b with a central location in Farnham. Very reasonably priced with clean and comfortable surroundings. The building reflects the history of the area and is quirky and full of character. Friendly and helpful staff. Guests can select own breakfast from kitchen- which I was grateful for. when suffering from a huge hangover! Totally recommended.
Review 60:Unfortunately it was fresher's week in Farnham at the time of my stay so there was quite a lot of noise during the night.
Review 61:Such a lovely place to stay, the twin room was nicely decorated and furnished and was very clean.
Review 62:I had the small single room next to street which can be a little noisy but over all a comfortable and fair priced B&B
Review 63:Really nice couple, made to feel very welcome, relaxed and cheerful atmosphere
Review 64:The coffee was instant...I am a coffee drinker and would have preferred a freshly brewed coffee in the morning. ;)
Review 65:Very comfortable home away from home. The caretakers Sally and John were very kind, friendly and helpfu during our stay. We will definitely go back and stay with them again!
