Reviews for Tredegar Arms Hotel

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Me and my partner love staying here we love this place staff are so friendly we will always stay here this hotel is not used for the homeless so don't be told it is cause it ain't the rooms are lovely and beds comfy cant fault this hotel we love it so much

Review 3:Difficult to find, no bell/ intercom for access via the front door, needs upgrading, woodlouse in bathroom.

Review 4:Friendly, hospitable hosts. This B&B is on the up, undergoing refurbishment after a change in use.

Review 5:Extraordinary service, lady who works there is super nice but not too much (we don't like ass kissing). She was helpful and easy to talk to. We were soaking wet when we came in and she dried all our clothes really fast! Room was clean, bed was even too comfy (couldn't get up!!). Definitelly place to come back to!

Review 6:We were given a key to use for the back entrance, but it wasn't so we had to wake up a member of staff to let us in which was a bit awkward.

Review 7:The room was comfortable and they'd put a heater in there for us as well which was nice. The hotel.itself is very quiet. Didn't know until the day after our stay that it's used for the homeless.

Review 8:Lovely decor...a Comfortable bed... Presentation of room... Historic building... Friendly and helpful host and hostesses.... Easy access to Brecon Beacons National Park, and the various attractions in Merthyr Tydfil.

Review 9:Because they were doing some renovation on the building, it looked messy outside but the rooms were good. The front was not inviting.

Review 10:The staff were friendly. Debbie tried her best. When we bought food, she gave us two plates and cutlery without asking her. We didn't know we had got a flat tyre, it was a staff who alert us and we called the Rescue Team that night instead of the morning which would have wasted time.

Review 11:Problem with the TV during our stay but didn't detract from the stay

Review 12:lovely large rooms, friendly helpful staff, breakfast was as great and filling

Review 13:This is NOT A HOTEL, even the staff admitted this the next morning after we complained. No bar, no restaurant. No carpet in hall, told reason when we arrived. dirty carpet in bathroom, the place smelled of bleach, dirty rooms, no cold water, electric wall socket did not work, if room decor has been done, as claimed, then badly done. This place is supposedly going through a renovation, but if you look at reviews this has been ongoing for a long time. Formerly used, for homeless people, now trying to convert to B & B. It should be closed, re furbed then opened. Plus staff member has given a stunning review, have reported this. Would have given no points only restricted. Why did we stay, we had no choice as at the Rugby and to late to try and find something else. Even a local person said what a joke the place was.

Review 14:Free wifi

Review 15:Old hotel under renovation Rooms not cleaned in 3 nights, bed sheets not changed No tea , coffee, sugar or milk upplied other than what found initially same as to bath room

Review 16:Owner is friendly

Review 17:Poorly decorated rooms, no equipment I.e. Hairdryer. Grubby skirting boards and double bed pushed upaganist a wall. Most odd door locking system we have ever seen. Uncontrolled heating. No lightshade. Breakfast that most people would be ashamed to present to paying guests. Uncooked sausages, cheapest of the cheap baked beans, cheap tinned tomatoes, toast thickly coated with cheap margarine. No hint of a request if you would like marg.

Review 18:Just toilets and WiFi had no connection at all as the hotel.on hill that wasn't goo for us

Review 19:Debbie and sad welcomed us to the hotel sad is the manager he catered for me in the services I wanted in my bedroom microwave hairdryer and fridge he bought it all brand new good hotel to stay in friendly atmosphere only downfall was the toilet kept on over flowing that I was kindly asked to use the upstairs one that one nice of Debbie she is the one who cooks breakfast ect ect great lady if you needed anything she would be at your service x yaz x

Review 20:Food availability. Beware of local resturant / takeaway, 2 * food rating and I'm not surprised.

Review 21:Friendly & helpful. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Review 22:Despite being recently refurbished it ain't finished. As it was a late booking and late arrival I got anxious as I had problems communicating with the establishment. There is no WiFi signal in the rather cramped room 8.

Review 23:I needed to sleep. Mattress was ok and linen fresh.

Review 24:It's not posh, but it's a down to earth great value stop over.

Review 25:Clean, friendly, very comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, generous breakfasts, secluded off road parking, licenced restaurant and shop a few doors down, short taxi ride into town. Great for a low cost business / transit stop over.

Review 26:Very nice place, near it you can find a little shop and places to eat even if it is not situated in towncenter (there is a direct bus just in front of the hotel) and you may enjoy some nice walks into the mountain not far from the hotel ( breacon railway mountain is close too and very nice ). The owner is a very kind person with who you can talk and ask everything you need, the time I spent in this hotel will remain for me a very good memory!

Review 27:It´s an old house, so a renovation is necessary. There are some inconveniences, but the owner is still working for this. :-)

Review 28:Very friendly and attentive owner... Thank you, Saad:

Review 29:They are renovating the hotel so it is understandable that things are a little topsy-turvy; but having said that the bed was terrible, there was no hot water to shave with, no heating, the towels were brand new (still had the labels on them) and hadn't been washed, no TV, no bedside lamps or tables and plugs in the room that didn't work.

Review 30:Friendly owner and builder - who doubled as the cook and presented an excellent "builders breakfast".

Review 31:Decor was a little dated. Could have been a small bin in the room.

Review 32:The owner was so friendly. Great clean bedding and rooms. Suited us for one night at short notice.
