Reviews for Hammet House

Review 1:Warm reception and helpful staff. Food was exquisitely prepared though we both found it a bit over-seasoned for our taste. Room was spotless and very comfortable, but with the usual idiosyncrasies expected in an older building

Review 2:I did enjoy my whole visit in both hotel and restaurant! I enjoyed the high class food, amazing breakfast as well with homemade sauces, something you don't really get in posh hotels. I loved the deco and room 8 is just amazing!!

Review 3:Carrying a suitcase up too many stairs.Very hard to make a cup of tea ie a cordless jug is needed.

Review 4:Beautiful house,beautiful situation.Friendly and welcoming staff.

Review 5:We booked at the very last minute, there were only two of the small rooms available- one had been refurbished & one hadn't. Both were perfectly adequate, but I would definately specify a much larger room next time to take full advantage of this lovely character hotel.

Review 6:Lovely old house, great food, mix of contempary & original features. Attentive staff. Larger rooms looked fabulous.

Review 11:No Wifi ( although it is mentionned). No mobile network inside or outside; you have to walk up to 1 mile before you can use your cellphone.

Review 12:rooms of good size and comfort. Clean and big bathroom, at least in the family room. Soft towels. Great breakfast.

Review 13:no mobile phone connection and hotel wifi was flaky but could use landline (could be a big bonus for some)

Review 14:lovely hotel i would definitely recommend this place. i stayed here alone but i enjoyed the stay so much i am planning to take my wife here for a weekend break

Review 15:A very nice place in a very nice area. Staff is very friendly and wants to make sure you feel welcome and have everything you need. Fantastic dinner. Mobile network not working in the house itself, but outside, some problems with WiFi - but that fits well into the atmosphere of a quite place to relax.

Review 32:Having to leave!!

Review 33:Beautiful and attention to detail is fantastic

Review 34:limited expensive menu

Review 35:The water supply system in the bathroom needs to look at. No majorproblem though.

Review 36:Very good service from staff. Also the owner is helpful in showingme information about the local area. The contemporary and stylishdecoration. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The foodwas of very good quality. Tea and coffee in the room plus wrappedcake to consume.

Review 37:One little niggle, need somewhere to put our teabags, perhaps a small dish or saucer.

Review 38:The staff were very good to us as we are both profoundly Deaf and this did not worry them when communicating with us. Food was excellent and the surroundings beautiful. We had a very relaxing time.

Review 39:Decor a bit hit and miss, No wifi upstaires Beakfast well below average.+sauce bottle lids well manky, did not even risk using it.

Review 40:Location Clean room. Dinner good.

Review 41:A very minor grumble but not the best range of beers and no draught ale available. And a sign to the hotel from the junction in the nearby village would be a good idea.

Review 42:Very friendly welcome, good service and food and a comfortable well specced room. Couldn't fault it.

Review 43:Its not not a complaint in any way, but it would really nice to have a pool. I believe it may be something provided in the future, I hope so.

Review 44:We had a relaxing, enjoyable long weekend break at Hammet House. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful and all very sweet with our toddler. The food in the restaurant and bar was very good, the public rooms nice and spacious.

Review 45:would be good for some changes on the menu daily a little noisy on our second night due to large party with several children

Review 46:lovely setting great room excellent staff excellent food and wine great breakfast

Review 47:Family room was a bit scruffy. Chipped paint work all over the walls. The bathroom had mold on the blind and glass shower panel. The toilet seat needed replacing and the bath mdf panel was blown. So a bit disappointed with the level of finish. The very modern furniture in the hotel is starting to look worn out.

Review 48:Friendly and attentive staff, breakfast menu excellent, wine very good, lovely grounds and views, beds really comfortable. The overall look of the hotel is very inviting.

Review 49:Some of the furniture was a bit strange but I realise they have a lot more to do on the hotel.

Review 50:Our bedroom was very good with an excellent bed and bedding

Review 51:I felt that some attention to detail was lacking. There was the lighting - there were quite a number of bulbs that needed changing, as they were not lit, on the chandeliers in the dining room, and especially on the top stairway leading to our room - only 1 in 3 bulbs were lit - it made the stairwell quite dark. Dusting - the skirting board around the bedroom also needed a better dust in places, also the dressing table, in the carved intricate design around the mirror, showed a layer of dust. But neither of these minor faults stopped us from enjoying our stay.

Review 52:The food made our stay for us - breakfast had an excellent choice of cooked food and dinner was simply superb, that is why I have described it as 'gourmet'. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. The staff were tremendously friendly and helpful..

Review 53:Tv signal a little erratic. And no phone signal. This could be a plus for many!

Review 54:Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Nice to have a sofa and view. Real coffee and a choice of teas in the room with lovely flapjacks and bottled water. Nice toiletries. Very nice food with the option of eating for ally or informally. Lovely walk from hotel along river to Kilgerran and very pleasant setting/grounds. Short drive to Cardigan.Overall, a very pleasant and refreshing break away from it all.

Review 55:sauce bottles on breakfast table. lack of outside seating near to hotel bar/restaurant

Review 56:size of room and tea/coffee making excellent. extremely comfortable bed very prompt response to any request. good breakfast with decent selection

Review 57:The majority of the staff were welsh speaking yet this was only known if the staff were asked. Their ability to speak welsh should be made known and be promoted as a plus for the hotel. Poor mobile phone signal

Review 58:Peace and quiet walks by the river dark sky to see the stars comfortable bed good food proximity to theatre at Rhosygilwen

Review 59:Not walking distance of other places E.G. restaurants.

Review 60:Lovely place, attentive staff, excellent food, located in thecountryside, nice touches - quality toiletries, real coffee in therooms, free WiFi.

Review 61:Shower screen did not stop the water from spraying all over floor. Bath and panel seem to need attention.

Review 62:Food, atmosphere and staff. Bed and linens. The view from our window.

Review 63:Abit grey. food is very good but alittle on the pricey side

Review 64:Good size room with a nice bed. Bathroom good size with a good shower. Food good
