Reviews for Ty Taf Fechan B&B
Review 1:Fantastic location especially for walking . Our hosts Paul and Rose were very friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. Could not fault out stay in any way. Would highly recommend this B&B and will hopefully return one day.
Review 2:It is a very interesting place with nice owners. It's perfect if you like hiking or biking. The views from some of the rooms is impresive. Fresh cooked English breakfast
Review 3:Nothing!
Review 4:Everything was perfect about the place! Beautiful, picturesque views from the room, comfortable bed and lovely hosts. It was just the thing we needed after our tedious hike during the day. We will definitely go back :-)
Review 5:Paul and Ros were excellent hosts, they are so passionate to look after their guests, suggesting us the best pathways and routes of this dramatic and stunning landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park, their outstanding rank confirms my expectations. I look forward to coming back soon, Highly reccomended
Review 6:Having to leave and the weather hindering exploring the gorgeous grounds around the BnB
Review 7:Absolutely amazing little BnB. Paul and his wife have a stunning unique little converted church, that is spotlessly clean and on the shores of a reservoir. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend away this is the only place to come. Even with the rain I haven't stopped raving about this little gem.
Review 8:The host and hostess were delightful. I appreciated the fresh fruit at breakfast in addition to the traditional Welsh fare. We loved the fact that this B&B was a restored medieval church that had been moved up the hill. Fantastic!
Review 9:Lovely hosts who where welcoming and helpful. The room was amazing and views where breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and you could even meet the chickens that layed the eggs.
Review 10:The only thing we didn't like was having to leave!
Review 11:This is a lovely B&B in a picture perfect surrounding! We were made to feel so welcome, the bed is SO comfortable and the whole place is spotless. We would love to visit again!
Review 12:Free wifi would be nice as there is no signal in the area. But not too much of a problem as a retreat in Brecon Beacons could certainly do without any connection to the outside world
Review 13:The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The photo does not justify how nice the place is. The host Paul and Rose are very lovely people. Good location to explore Brecon Beacons.
Review 14:We loved the seclusion of this converted chapel and yet its central location for exploring the area. The accommodation (deluxe room) was spacious and well appointed, the breakfast delicious and our hosts very welcoming with helpful tips on where to go.
Review 15:There is very little not to like about our visit. For some it might be an issue that there is no (or very limited) wifi/internet but for me personally this was not an issue as its what you might expect from being out in the open country and the switch off from the digital world is quite refreshing.
Review 16:My partner and I stayed for 3 nights, the room and facilities were very comfortable, I've not had such peaceful night sleep in months. The breakfast that Ros made was delicious with fresh eggs from their chickens every day. Both Paul and Ros were extremely helpful, giving good guidance on things to do, places to see and the best route to go to places and knowledgeable of the local area. They were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our whole stay and nothing was too much trouble. We took them up on their packed lunches facility which was complete value for money and very welcome after a day hiking and bike riding. The stunning scenery close by, the reservoirs, the lovely gardens on site make it a perfect get-away whether you want to stroll about to relax or follow the Taff Trail on bikes or hike up Pen y Fan. We stayed in the Deluxe Double room which has super views of the mountains and the gardens. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 17:Paul & Ros could not do enough to make our stay unforgettable We will be returning in the not to distant future and would recomend the Ty Taf Fechan to everyone
Review 18:No issues, loved it!
Review 19:The couple who run this B&B were exceptionally friendly, and particularly helpful when we asked for recommendations of things to do and see in the area. The room was lovely, with a very good range of choices at breakfast (including vegetarian). All in all an excellent stay, would try to come here again if coming back to the area.
Review 20:The wife would prefer to have internet access.
Review 21:Unique architecture, friendly host, good value for money, close location to walking paths, the lake and the Old Barn Tea Rooms. Great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors.
Review 22:Cellular blackspot, it's not a problem if you can live without your phone!
Review 23:Great Hosts Great Breakfast Great Location Dark Skies, shame it was cloudy.
Review 24:Be prepared to walk a distance to the nearest restaurant to have your meals. The restaurant we went closed at 4pm. The only option is to rent a car to visit this place. But that is a small price to pay.
Review 25:One of the most beautiful countryside I've ever visited. My wife and I realised we're the first Singaporean and Vietnamese to visit Brecon Beacons. Ty Taf Fechan is the perfect location to visit Brecon Beacons.
Review 26:Nothing. We loved it all!
Review 27:Our hosts were wonderful, bent over backward to ensure our comfort, breakfast and local experience were all fabulous. Loved the setting, very peaceful and quiet, looking out our second floor window to chickens, fish, horses and lush greenery.
Review 28:There is absolutely nothing we didn't like at Ty Taf Fechan. It is an exceptional B&B!

Review 32:Not a fault of the property but just be aware that there is no phone signal in the area
Review 33:Extremely welcoming owners Beautiful building Amazing scenery Locally sourced cooked breakfast Friendly family cat
Review 34:The bed was a little hard. Breakfast around 1 table with people you don't know was a little awkward, but we waited until the others had gone and then it was fine.
Review 35:The property was beautiful and the hosts were very friendly whilst still giving us space to enjoy our holiday. They obviously take great pride and enjoyment from the variety of guests they welcome to their home, which is very refreshing.
Review 36:Our double room didn't have enough room and no real place in it to sit down or unpack a suitcase.
Review 37:Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful. The location is great for hiking in the Brecon Beacons, and in a lovely setting.
Review 38:Staying in this renovated church was lovely. It was very quiet and peaceful. The owners were very friendly, easy going & helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Review 39:That we had to leave!
Review 40:Beds were extremely comfy Paul and Roz were very welcoming and accomodating very homely feel to the converted chapel Breakfast was lovely and yummy Catered for every need Paul and Roz are extremely knowledgable of surrounding area and of walks and cycleways even gave us a map When I left my kindle in the room Paul came to find us on our walk to hand it to me, luckily he'd given us directions on where to go. Will definitely return with others and book the lodge.
Review 41:Lovely room with the original stained glass of the chapel. Very clean with a good ensuite bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is superb, right in the heart of the Brecons away from everything. Great owner and smashing breakfast too.
Review 42:That we couldn't stay longer to see more of the area.
Review 43:The b&b was beautifully situated next to a reservoir in a very pretty part of wales. We cycled up the taff trail from cardiff and our host was so kind to take us to the local pub by car so we could get some food - this was really fantastic and most welcome after having spent 6,5 hours on the bike! The room was very clean, the breakfast delicious and both Paul and Ros were such fiendly and welcoming hosts. I would highly recommend this b&b to anyone!
Review 44:The beds - they could be more comfortable.
Review 45:A really good place to stay in Brecon Beacons. Very friendly hosts, and excellent breakfast with lots of different choices. Good location for nearby trails, cycling etc.
Review 46:You have to go a mile or two to find mobile reception, which shouldn't be a surprise in a Welsh valley but is worth noting!
Review 47:Ty Taf Fechan is really remote but this was perfect for us. You can set out on walks from the front door if you don't want to drive. The position on the reservoir makes for lovely views. The breakfast is really good and the owners are very helpful with planning trips, recommendations for food and general advice.
Review 48:A bit tricky to find.
Review 49:Brilliant location. Brecon Becons pure magic. The converted church, too, just delightful accommodation.
Review 50:The View from the delux room.

Review 80:Beautiful area. Excellent and friendly service.
Review 81:Very beautiful surrounds of water and Forrest - warm and welcoming host and hostess , a clean and very comfortable room.
Review 82:Hosts had TV up loud at night which kept us awake
Review 83:Great Location Friendly Hosts Great Breakfast Clean Good Value
Review 84:Having to leave for our next destination
Review 85:Absolutely everything. A beautiful Brecon Beacons setting in a beautiful home. The hosts were so welcoming and gracious. A fabulous few days.
Review 86:No mobile signal as I was informed. The wifi is a bit weak as well. The two bathrooms are supposed to be both ensuite--but one of them has a separate but "private" bathroom. It means although it's the bathroom of your own you can't access it without stepping out of your bedroom... I don't quite understand. For me it's a bit inconvenient.
Review 87:Very friendly staff. Nice location as a proper resort place. If you're planning to do a few days' hiking trip this could be a lovely choice. Really comfortable bed with quality bedding. Delicate interior design
Review 88:Very warm welcome by host .They made feel us like at home. Fantastic location(lakes, mountains, forest). Very clean rooms. The building is very unique and has story behind. Overall amazing time! Looking forward to come back in the nearest future.

Review 93:Everything. Location is amazing, quiet, spectacular scenery, beautiful. Accommodation is unique, beautifully converted and exceptionally well maintained, bed very comfy. Hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly, gave us lots of information about the area and attractions. Only had one night but will definitely be back thank you.
Review 94:We felt very looked after by the lovely hosts. Full of local advice, the breakfast was also excellent. Great nights sleep and lovely to stay somewhere with character features. We just wishes we could have stayed longer when the good weather arrived!
Review 95:Absolutely lovely stay. Hosts where great and made us feel at home, and very welcome. Beautiful location right by the water with beautiful scenery. Beautiful mountains and walks all around and the hosts were knowledgeable of lovely walks (especially alternate routes that avoided the most popular areas) and also were actively interested in all of the walks we had planned. Also provided good recommendations for food in the evenings within a short drive from the B&B. Can't wait until the next stay.
Review 96:The weather! But our hosts couldn't have been more helpful, showing us where to walk and how long each walk should take.
Review 97:Very remote, a real get-away, and the room was gorgeous. It very comfortable while maintaining the character of the chapel with a stunning view.
Review 98:Absolutely perfect location set right in the heart of the Brecons. The elegantly converted chapel is set right next to a magnificent lake in beautiful surroundings. Extremely friendly owners made our two night break perfect. Hope to see you again next year! Thank You!
Review 99:Paul & Ros are fantastic hosts and made us feel as though we werevisiting friends. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with greatchoices. For a peaceful break in the middle of the countryside you wouldstruggle to find better. We will be back on our next visit to Wales.
Review 100:A lovely B&B with that special something! The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, and gave us some great tips regarding things to do and places to eat nearby. It's located really close to the Brecon Beacons, so this is the ideal place to stay if you're planning to do some hiking!
Review 101:The approach from the A40 needs to be taken with much caution and best done in daylight hours. We found the approach to the A70 a far better road but I would still recommend you plan you arrival in daylight.
Review 102:The friendly manner in which we were greated. The room was spotlless clean, warm and homely atmospher. Breakfast was well presented and plenty of it. Would throughly recommend it as a retreat away from the hussle and bussle. Also like how after the booking was confirmed an email arrive with instruction on how to get there. Just a great little spot with wonderful hosts.
Review 103:that we could nt stay longer :( but will be going back soon
Review 104:Ty Taf Fechan is a peacefull home with magnificent views to the forest, a very comfortable room and most importantly two lovely owners, Rosalind and Paul who make it feel like home away from home. Also just a five minute drive from the beautifull waterfalls!
Review 105:Everything. The owners are very friendly and know their area. So much better to stay in such lovely surroundings and be treated personally. 5 star bed and breakfast so much better than hotels. Very easy to find with sat nav - arrived 9 pm in pitch dark.

Review 112:A reconstructed original old stone church building that makes a lovely b&b. Charming and very welcoming hosts and the perfect location to explore the amazing countryside of the Brecon Beacons
Review 113:The only downsize is that you have to walk through owners reception room to get to your room.
Review 114:Very small B&B only two rooms. One with its own en-suite other one with external bathroom. Owners cook breakfast for you according to your earlier request. Lovely area in countryside. There's also holiday home at the same property which can be rented.
The Fine Print
