Reviews for Llety Teifi Guesthouse

Review 1:cleanliness was ok, except for the bath tub which needed a proper scrub.

Review 2:Got a warm welcome, room was warm, equipped as described, great location, private parking in front of the house, nice breakfast, even for vegans. :)

Review 3:Absent landlord. Staff only accessible between 3pm & 7pm then Guest house was without staff or landlord until next morning. Room had a view of the roof only. There were two small single beds with very skimpy & tired quilts. Heating came on late evening & then went off soon after midnight. There were no heating controls & we felt powerless to keep warm. We were woken by the cold at 1am & couldn't sleep until the heating came back on at 5am. Breakfast was adequate but was served in adjoining hotel which smelt damp. Both properties appeared to be up for sale.

Review 4:Appeared well recommended.

Review 5:Would have preferred a down stairs room as found stairs difficult, but this was our fault as we did not specify when booking

Review 6:Room was very comfortable and clean plenty of tea and cofee available. Breakfast was lovely served by very pleasant staff, in nice surroundings.

Review 7:Breakfast good and tasty, tea was only warm

Review 8:Very clean and comfortable, easy to check in and out, little worried that room key opened front door and room, does that mean any key opens all rooms?

Review 9:The staff couldn't have been anymore helpful, found us a phone charger when we realized we'd not packed one. Room was fab, bed was really comfy, we loved the shower and the spa bath. Breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice and lots of local produce. Diolch yn fawr iawn! Thank you very much!

Review 10:Breakfast was a bit underwhelming.

Review 11:Very friendly staff, very well kept, comfortably designed rooms with all the standard appliances but also some additional ones - the only place where I found a cafetiere, a very welcome discovery! The building is also conveniently located at a bus stop in Cardigan, a nice and cosy town worth visiting.

Review 12:Main road a bit noise as hotel was close to the road. Ok with the window shut.

Review 13:Lovely clean hotel. Breakfast was fabulous. Would stop again. The staff were lovely. Thanks

Review 14:Breakfast is in the conservatory of the B&B next door which is not as tasteful and felt cheap by comparison.

Review 15:Lovely decor and character and in a good location in the town.

Review 16:Seems with a lot of booking.com bookings we get the rooms in the attic...not great for a mature couple and carrying suitcases.

Review 17:Nice friendly place to stay.

Review 18:everything was fine breakfast had a good choice although the breakfast room was a bit cool first thing

Review 19:perfect location to visit the newly-restored Cardigan Castle and to watch the outdoor performance of Taming of the shrew!

Review 20:we did not have real complaints. it is an old house, which is charming, but also means climbing lots of stairs. breakfast is strictly british style.

Review 21:it is a very comfortable place to stay: we had a nice large room.

Review 22:Fan in bathroom not working, shower to close to wall.

Review 23:Room was lovely peaceful, clean, plenty coffee available, great!!! Would come and stay again.

Review 24:The room Was very musty, rooms were very dated, very awkward car parking with welcoming park at your own risk signs. Also in room it says early morning calls available but they don't start them until 9am and got told breakfast was from 8-9 so the early morning call would have been when breakfast had finished lol

Review 25:Good sleep bed was very comfortable

Review 26:The breakfast was poor. Spoilt the otherwise great place

Review 27:Fresh coffee and cafetiere in room Somewhere secure for my bike Lots of help with things to do Lovely welcome Room quiet and cool on a hot day

Review 28:Friendly, easy going staff. Room tidy, with jacuzzi bath, which was welcome after long walks. Breakfast has good choices to cater for all tastes.boutique

Review 29:nothing

Review 30:Staff were welcoming an helpful. Room for my disabled daughter was delightful shower room spacious without feeling any different to our double room.

Review 31:Breakfast on the weekend is too short - it should be extended to at least 10 am. Very difficult to speak to any body - a real rigmarole to get contact with reception before we arrived and when we arrived.

Review 32:Rooms clean with nice en suites. Very accommodating for my disabled mother of 87 years. Thanks

Review 33:We loved the guest house straight away. We came to escape London life and wasn't disappointed. Our room was very homely and comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee and the shower was better then our own. Not a far drive to some gorgeous beaches. we wished we had booked more than 2 nights.

Review 34:It did say on the write up that lucky guest may get to see the dolphins, however it was no where near a beach. A short drive to New Quay Beach soon rectified that though. We went on a boat trip and saw around 40 dolphins.

Review 35:Really enjoyable stay. Room was spacious, clean and had good facilities. Certainly fit for purpose. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. This hotel is set back in the grounds but located on a high street. There is plenty of access to shops, places to eat and a harbor. Despite being on a high street there was no noise once in the room. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.

Review 36:Mattress in room 9 needs replacing. No proper curtains at window. Room had many cobwebs. Decor old fashioned & tired, new carpet a must

Review 37:Staff & breakfast, clean bathroom

Review 38:Breakfast only available on a Sunday until 9am. Most places I stay give you to at least 9.30. Check out at 10am was also very early on a weekend.

Review 39:The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Rooms very comfortable. Great location

Review 40:The only down side i would say is the timing of breakfast being served.

Review 41:The room itself was very well presented, and a pretty fair size. You get a good variety of tea and coffee that comes free in the room.

Review 42:We spent a weekend here as attending a wedding in the area. All the staff were friendly and very helpful with any queries. Room was stylishly decorated with a great big comfy bed, loved it! Good parking and within walking distance of town centre.

Review 43:Twin bed room a bit on the small side! Bathroom was a little grubby around the skirting. Parking very tight!

Review 44:Comfortable bed. Warm room. Breakfast was good and there was plenty on offer.

Review 45:Breakfast was between 8am - 9am even at weekends, if you are on holiday who wants to have to get up that early! We didn't bother second day as we were tired

Review 46:We weren't able to park at the hotel - not enough room - luckily we know Cardigan quite well and were able to find somewhere near. Parking is generally a problem in Cardigan and might give someone without local knowledge a bit of a headache

Review 47:Central position, clean well decorated room well appointed bathroom. Plenty of choice for breakfast although the 'breakfast conservatory' was quite chilly

Review 48:Great guest house with lots of character and charm and has those little extra bits that go a long way such as the kenyan coffee and caffater in the bedroom and the in iron inbuilt to the wall.

Review 49:This is very subjective, I don't particularly like English breakfast so I found the continental breakfast option a bit poor for cereals and stuff to but there. If you like English breakfast, it was freshly made so I bet it was tasty! What I would say is that they had a small selection of home-made jams that were really nice. So, yes, I'm being a bit too picky about the breakfast. Apart from that, there is nothing bad to be said about this place from our experience.

Review 50:The room was spacious and beautiful. Everything was very clean and quiet during the night. The guest house is in a very central location in cardigan and short distance to pubs and restaurants.

Review 51:The breakfast in the adjoining hotel was of low quality and needed better ingredients.

Review 52:We stayed in room 4 with a jacuzzi bath, which was a very nice room. Everything was clean and well appointed.

Review 53:Nothing

Review 54:The guesthouse was a great value for a very welcoming stay with friendly helpful staff. The rooms have just been refurbished to top quality standard . The locally Welsh products for breckfast. Must stay when in the area we were very pleases with our stay and our friends enjoyed also. Nice to be close to town and a private Carpark .

Review 55:Nice clean building with parking. Room was very spacious for a twin. Shower was nice and big with hot water. Staff was very polite and very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic with awesome pouched eggs. Highly recommended and would definatly stay here again if working in the area A⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Review 56:The room was far far far too hot. The decor was rather loud. My room had twin beds and one bed pushed against the curtains, making it difficult to close them. The shower room was freezing cold!

Review 57:Cleanliness of room and shower room was very good.

Review 58:Staff could be a bit more welcoming, Within 2 mins of arriving asked to pay for room there and then. Breakfast between 8 and 9 (on a Sunday!) Got to b/fast at 8:45, lady taking b/fast order rather abrupt and looked at her watch because it took my wife longer than 15 secs to make up her mind!

Review 59:Excellent room, quiet, comfy bed, nice bathroom.

Review 60:The breakfast times were too restrictive and too early if you do not have to rush off to work.

Review 61:The staff were lovely -really welcoming and friendly. Did all they could to help

Review 62:Nothing really.

Review 63:Smart, modern looking bedroom and bathroom. Warm and comfortable with enough facilities. Quiet hotel but some passing traffic noise in mornings. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast, even though you have to walk through to next door hotel. Close to shops.

Review 64:There were several long dark hairs in the bath, on the wall next to the bath and on the floor in the bathroom. It clearly hadn't been cleaned properly, far too many hairs to have just been overlooked. And there were holes in the sheet on the bed too. Shame, otherwise it would have been a lovely stay.

Review 65:The hotel was very nicely decorated, spacious room and nice and warm.

Review 66:Sausage (selsig) not to my taste but rest of breakfast hearty

Review 67:Local people speaking Welsh, near to shops and pubs, old building with character, coast path and dolphins

Review 68:There was no evening meal on offer and there didn't seem to be many options in the village.

Review 69:Central location, car parking, wifi, comfortable bed, good breakfast.

Review 70:dim

Review 71:Cawsom arhosiad hyfryd yma. Mae'r staff yn hynod groesawgar ac mae awyrgylch Gymreig a Chymraeg y llety yn ei wneud yn gartrefol. Brecwast ardderchog.

Review 72:Everything was over and above our expectations, very helpfull staff, cleanliness, breakfast etc etc...we will be using this lovely place on all future visits our family in Wales.

Review 73:Stairs, but they were wide and not tricky . Knew this beforehand and we got a good price.

Review 74:Lovely room, clean, comfortable bed, great breakfast, good bathroom.

Review 75:Nothing .

Review 76:Room lovely and clean , modern but not cold looking. breakfast better than some 3/4star hotels . Free parking a bonus . Staff friendly . All in all a great little guest house.

Review 77:So many stairs...would have greatly appreciated help with luggage. Had to pay in advance before seeing the room. We found that to be a bit tacky.

Review 78:We had a top floor room which was large and bright. The decor was nice.

Review 79:Building is bright and distinctive outside. Light and airy inside. I was met by a very pleasant teenage girl who knew her job. My room was comfortable and clean. There is a car park which is very helpful.

Review 80:Very disappointed to find there was not a really nice restaurant for dinner in Cardigan. The 2 recommended by the guesthouse were ok but a small, limited menu which did not change. Given proximity to the sea not even a good, fresh fish option. In fact no 'specials' at all.

Review 81:Location of Llety Teifi is excellent, very central, plentiful parking. Cardigan also a good centre for walking either south on Pembrokeshire coast path or north on the Ceredigion path and also along the Teifi via Nature Trail.

Review 82:Cardigan town does appear quite rough and most of the pubs weren't that accommodating to tourists, however, there are some real gems in the likes of the Eagle pub (across the bridge) and 25 Mile which does amazing local food.

Review 83:Central location and clean comfortable rooms. Parking wasn't as problematic as most people say so don't let that put you off.

Review 84:Single room overlooking the garden was very small with not much room to move around from one side of the bed to the other. For a single traveller, it would have been useful to have the option of an evening meal offered.

Review 85:Staff friendly and helpful. Room very clean with all needed facilities. Lovely period house. Breakfast very good.

Review 86:Unfortunately the breakfast in the neighbouring guest house let the side down a bit. The coffee appeared to be nescafe and the bread tasted synthetic.

Review 87:We liked the spacious room and the well fitted and good sized bathroom.

Review 88:would have liked some hot chocolate along with the tea & coffee in the room. Yep, thats the only thing I would change about this loveyl little place

Review 89:the room (single room so small, but beautifully equipped and comfortable) staff - very friendly breakfast - all you can eat on site parking (which surprised me considering its just a small guesthouse) location - ideal for town centre

Review 90:room (10) was very small. Furthermore as we were tall, it was easy to knock your head

Review 91:staff was very kind and helpfull. Bed was good and thwe breakfast was good.

Review 92:We booked back in February for a deluxe room with a dog, shortly after the booking was made we received a call from the guesthouse saying that they do not allow dogs in this room but they do have a room with twin beds, so I said that I would like to keep the booking as it is and we will leave the fog at home, I thought that was the end of it. When we arrive we were asked were is your dog, I explained the situation and they knocked some money of and then moved us the following morning. The bathroom needs to have a deep clean as it is now looking a little tired. But overall good.

Review 93:Co-operation from the staff, my husband said the breakfast.

Review 94:No provision for evening meal, didn't matter because Cardigan has a wide range of eating places.

Review 95:Everything, one positive thing that they emphasised the use of the Welsh language, but in an inclusive way. This was very popular with European visitors, French, German etc. Wide choice of breakfast and good quality, staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 96:The room (4) was very modern and the decor was classy. Good size, light and airy. Compact bathroom but very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was held in the sister hotel next door and was very nice.

Review 97:1. The bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood, I had such an aching back in the mornings 2. The shampoo fried my hair 3. One bottle of water to share between two for two nights. 4. Toiletries/ tea coffees not replenished on the second day/ night 5. My husbands breakfast was served, he was almost finished, then mine arrived, there was two other couples who were eating so they weren't exactly busy. 6. No staff around to welcome guests or answer any queries. 7. No flannels

Review 98:1. Jacuzzi in bathroom

Review 99:Unfortunately we had an attic room with a metal bedstead. I am 5ft 8 and my husband is 6ft 2, there was very little space in the room due to low ceiling and the bed was not ideal as our feet kept hitting the bottom. It was also very warm ...obviously not the owners fault we stayed during a very hot week and there was a fan supplied. I would stay here again but ask for a different room.

Review 100:Friendly staff, freshly cooked breakfast. Clean rooms, great location.

Review 101:Being told the toast was make it yourself by someone with nothing to do after my breakfast had already arrived.

Review 102:Warm welcome, central location, smoked haddock breakfast

Review 103:Where were the staff?? No staff around at all. No one to greet us / let us in during the booking-in time. Had to phone a number on the wall, which turned out to be an adjoining business.....and someone from there kindly found a key and let us in. Unacceptable not to be met. No-one around when we left either, so I couldn't mention it, or pay. Still they had my card details from Booking.com, so I guess they couldn't be bothered to make an effort to show up, just took the money in their own time. Lazy, poor service. Book in next door would be my advice, which is where they actually have staff and where you end up having breakfast anyway. Also no shower screen, so you shower and water literally goes everywhere in bathroom - which isn't a wet room.

Review 104:car parking on site, close to town

Review 105:Location,polite staff,lovely clean room,also very quiet,comfortable bed,will stay again.

Review 106:Near the town centre and walks. Parking excellent. Very good breakfast. Room was spacious and clean.

Review 107:Nice Breakfast with cheery staff.

Review 108:couldn't fault anything, really pleased will return im sure

Review 109:Location excellent hotel very clean

Review 110:The room was lovely very spacious and the bathroom was done to a high standard. Staff were welcoming.

Review 111:Friendly staff

Review 112:Comfortable and pleasant stay for a weddings fforest.

Review 113:We had a ground floor room which we requested but the bathroom was a wet room & flooded after taking a shower.

Review 114:Location of property.

Review 115:None

Review 116:Rooms clean and roomy, share clean and of good standard.

Review 117:Great location, private parking, good breakfast and comfortable clean rooms.

Review 118:Easy parking, comfortable room and an upgrade!

Review 119:Fantastic place to stay, Lovely people and lovely food in a great little town

Review 120:Friendly staff and location. We used this as a stop over on our way to Northern Wales. Did not spend to much time there or in the town.

Review 121:Bit difficult getting out of car park.

Review 122:Friendly. Perfect room for me and my dog. Quiet. Lovely breakfast.

Review 123:carpets and fittings a bit shabby

Review 124:wifi

Review 125:room clean; good food

Review 126:view from bedroom

Review 127:friendly and helpful staff
