Reviews for Bayview Hotel

Review 1:The bathroom door locked itself from the inside and I had to scour the hotel for someone at 6am who could open it. The front desk the following morning did not even apologize even though they were aware of it.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:Our stay was very relaxing, the hotel homely and the staff like old friends!! The food was second to none! A hotel that could be highly recommended and will be!

Review 4:Shower was lukewarm and trickled out of the shower head.

Review 5:The room was very big and was comfortable enough for a one night stay. Breakfast was great and staff really friendly and helpful.

Review 6:In my fathers room the shower head is too low for a normal height individual.

Review 7:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar area with the fire was very welcoming. The meals we had in the hotel were of a good standard.

Review 8:Only available for one night and had to go home

Review 9:Staff where so friendly from arrival at reception, bar/restaurant staff all chatting and going out of their way to make our stay as good as possible, including Trevor who kept the fire well stocked with lovely smelling turf, soooo cosy. Loved our stay, food was excellent, fantastic friendly atmosphere, also thanks to Jamie for showing us the large Bayview rooms husband has no choice but book it for our next stay. Lol. Can't wait to go back..

Review 10:Being purely picky, some bathroom fittings a little tacky & restaurant staff forgot about our dessert order. Minor details

Review 11:Good food & location. Room size excellent,& great breakfast view over the bay.

Review 12:Advertises free wifi in rooms but I could not access it despite complaining to reception. The room was very basic and toilet would not flush properly. Not value fro money. Was due to go back in a few weeks but have cancelled my reservation.

Review 13:The location which was close to the town and all activities.

Review 14:We had a room with a balcony that looked out over the bay. It was gorgeous. The location was walking distance (20 min) to Dunluce Castle right along this beautiful coast. It was a short ride to Bushmills and Giant's Causeway.

Review 15:Lovely hotel with stunning views in a great location. Food & drinks were excellent . Hotel was spotless & staff were really helpful, friendly & efficient.Would definatley visit again

Review 16:It was the same size as a King Size bed, and a king size sheet was used, but it was two single mattresses put together.

Review 17:Very Accommodating staff. Lovely views. Local to a lot of the sightseeing places. Gorgeous food in the hotel restaurant, including a good fry in the morning. All round great experience. The rooms are very clean and the freeview flat-screen tv's are great.

Review 18:The staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent (generous portions too!) and overall we had a wonderful stay at the Bayview Hotel. We will definitely be back!

Review 19:Proximity of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Large and spacious rooms. Glad to say tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities provided. All round our stay was perfect. Would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

Review 20:We had great weather so the sunsets from our room were great. We had a room looking out to sea. Staff were very welcoming, food was great and we were close enough to main attractions without the crowds.

Review 21:Given the hotel's limited amenities and the hotel's somewhat uninspired/tired 70's athmosphere, the hotel is expensive.

Review 22:Friendly staff. Nice setting. Spacious room. although the breakfast is pretty basic, the a la carte options for dining in the restaurant are good and so is the quality of the dishes.

Review 23:Very slow / poor service during dinner.

Review 24:The owner of this hotel is completely hands on and extremely accommodating and helpful. Location is unbeatable. Enjoyed the wonderful view from both the bar and restaurant whilst relaxing and dining. Excellent Food.

Review 25:Staff on front counter throughout stay appeared jaded. Dinner package not good value.

Review 26:LOCATION and quality of room furnishings , availability of restaurant on site.

Review 27:No mini bar . One member of staff on reception was surly and very unhelpful. She was quite rude and gave us incorrect information about other restaurants in the village

Review 28:Location of hotel was excellent. Room was very good with a lovely sea view

Review 29:Beautiful location with impressive sea view in tranquil village. Local friendly staff were very helpful. Plenty of FREE car parking very near hotel. Great walks near by on best of North Antrim coast.

Review 30:Waitress who served us in restaurant was less than enthusiastic and not very friendly. Staff usually great though.

Review 31:Very comfortable room with a lovely view

Review 32:I could have stayed here for the entire week. Wonderful town, delightful staff (especially Jimmy), and comfortable well-decorated rooms. The view from the restaurant of the water was wonderfully restful. Very close to Dunluce Castle and Giant's Causeway.

Review 33:this hotel is very expensive and does not really represent value for money. In particular the food was very average. wit a very limited menu. Service was very poor and we frequently took nearly an hour to be served two courses. The choice at breakfast was also limited and the cooked food, overcooked so much that we stopped having cooked breakfasts.

Review 34:Location on the sea front and friendly reception staff.

Review 35:Breakfast was included in our booking and was tasty. The staff was friendly and responded to all our requests very quickly and with a smile. The view from the hotel is amazing!

Review 36:Choice for dinner without driving was to eat at the hotel or one other new Italian resteraunt. This is fine for a short stay of two nights but if staying for a long time you may like more variety. The euro sterling exchange rate is making this hotel expensive at the moment.

Review 37:Nice location opposite the coast.

Review 38:There was no 24 hour snack service.

Review 39:Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms. The bar and restaurant are great. The seating area outside across from hotel was great to watch the sunset!! Staff were all very friendly and could not have been more professional or helpful!!!

Review 40:Pillows were a little hard.

Review 41:Friendly staff especially helpful in restaurant. Spacious room had a balcony with a terrific view towards the bay and little harbour.

Review 42:The Bayview is a nice little hotel right on the Bay. The food in the restaurant is very good. We ate both breakfast and supper there. It is minutes from Bushmills and a short drive to Dunluce Castle and the Giant's Causeway.

Review 43:thought the b & b was a little costly for a room overlooking the carpark. Carpark also small.

Review 44:lovely view from resturant over the bay. good food for breakfast and dinner. Staff very friendly and helpful.room clean and warm. enjoyed entertainment in the evening. great atmosphere.

Review 45:Reception staff were uninformative and never asked were we planning to see any local points of interest. Found out by accident that they had pass’s for guests to the Bushmills tour and that there was a £20 dinner special

Review 46:bar and dinner staff were friendly and Helpful. local petrol station (bushmills town)staff very helpful with smal problem with my car. hotel location perfect

Review 47:Not so good WiFi reception. No pubs or restaurants within easy walking distance, though we did have a lovely meal in the hotel itself.

Review 48:Nice comfy bed and good breakfast. Staff very pleasant. Great views over the bay from room and breakfast room.

Review 49:The shower in our room was a bit temperamental. There was a strange humming sound, probably a pump. All in all, though I would certainly recommend staying in this hotel.

Review 50:From the start, everything was very good. Check in staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and had a beautiful view of the bay. The food was very good, service was quick and friendly, even though a rugby weekend.

Review 51:Wifi connection isn't very good

Review 52:Can't really fault anything! Food was very tasty with very large portions, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was very nice

Review 53:Details concerning cleanliness. There were cobwebs high up around the bedroom. The valence of the bed was stained.

Review 54:A relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent and evening meal was above average.

Review 55:Can't fault the hotel at all.

Review 56:The location of this hotel is perfect the view of the bay is outstanding but the best part of this hotel is the staff. They're so friendly and attentive nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant is gorgeous and the jet bath in the room is great very relaxing. Overall I would recommend this hotel to everyone you won't be disappointed.

Review 57:Everything. After 8 weeks of travelling this has been our favourite hotel. Location was awesome, staff very professional. Ate in the restaurant for dinner and food was great at a really good price.

Review 58:Liked everything. Can't think of anything we didn't like.

Review 59:The location across from the beach was so beautiful and hotel close to the Giant's Causeway, and Carrick a Rede Rope Bridge which are simply spectacular. The food was wonderful, too. Staff friendly. We arrived late at night and were able to get some dinner which was very nice. Lovely hot chocolate. We'd highly recommend this hotel to other travelers. Loved Northern Ireland! Can't wait to get back and see more of this beautiful and friendly country.

Review 60:We were there 10 years ago when we got married and returned for our anniversary. Everything was perfect, its a gorgeous location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was super. Do not want to wait another 10 years to go back!!!

Review 61:Situation of Hotel. Lovely view from dining room window. Food good. We are both in our 80's and the hotel were able to supply us with A la Carte menus and smaller helpings. More suitable than large 4 course meals for us.

Review 62:Town itself seems charming, but by October it is total ghost town. If you're looking for action or any local scene you will not find it here. Most likely have to drive down the road 10 minutes to Port Rush.

Review 63:Wonderful view of the bay. Be sure to request a waterfront room. Dinner in restaurant was excellent.

Review 64:Nothing

Review 65:A Lovely Quiet, Luxurious Hotel! Nice food and drink. A quiet little part of the town, looking out on the sea, a small Marina adds to rather than mars the view. We woke up both mornings to the best view we had had in about twenty hotels as we travelled round Ireland. It was a view of the bay framed by lovely houses and a small Marina and the Lovely Horizon. The view was just the most lovely , gentle, soothing delight , it would have been my favourite and perfect view I wish I had this view at my own house it would have been complete perfection. Beautiful and breathtaking. Thanks Bayview for a once in a lifetime experience.

Review 66:The sea view from the lovely room, the peacefulness of the location, I couldn't believe how quiet it was in Port Ballintrae absolutely loved it. All the staff we seen were smiling and very helpful at all times. Food was very tasty.

Review 67:Low level hum in bedroom at night probably from lift shaft breakfast service . We were the only people in the breakfast room but after seating we had to wait ten minutes for service though staff we could hear the waiter gossiping about usb sticks in kitchen both poached and fried eggs hard

Review 68:Absolutely classic sea view Very well kept hotel beautiful evening meal Receptionists friendly and gave great recommendations about where to go

Review 69:The restaurant had the worst service we have ever experienced! We were not seated at the table promised, and the service people acted like kids who were working at a summer camp. Long wait for the table and food, wrong order and an attitude that it was all our fault! The only restaurant in town says it all. Drive to the next town and avoid the insults.

Review 70:Thought that the breakfast could be improved with a wider choice. What we had was just ok

Review 71:The Bayview is an intimate and friendly hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Impressed by the owner who was very visible throughout our stay.

Review 72:Small car park, hard to find a space. Our room overlooked the car park rather than the sea which for the price of the room I would've expected a sea view. Breakfast wasn't brilliant, think the hotel could do with a new toaster!

Review 73:The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely view from the restaurant.

Review 74:Wi fi didn't work for us ?

Review 75:The hotel has an excellent location in a bay with great views . It's near the causeway , robe bridge and bushills distillery . The restruant is excellent and the bar is lovely there was a young girl singing at night and she was very good . Rooms were modern , big , clean and comfortable

Review 76:Wifi dropped in and out, but could have been the windy weather. Otherwise our only complaint was that we weren't staying longer

Review 77:A lovely hotel with gorgeous views of the Antrim Coast line. The restaurant is definitely worth visiting. Comfortable beds and extras such as whirlpool bath and iPod speaker system were fabulous

Review 78:Didn't like the service ie waiting time for dinner and for breakfast also staff very slow to clear glasses etc from tables. Bar restaurant and rooms were cold.

Review 79:Liked the view from our bedroom and the menu in the restaurant

Review 80:We loved the view and the bed was excellent, in fact it was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in The staff were lovely and so helpful We are looking forward to a return visit

Review 81:Very noisy and busy bar bad dining area on Saturday night; the price of the room.

Review 82:Great views from the room, large size of room, whirlpool bath, courteous staff.

Review 83:Requested a window table for myself and friend but told a group of 4 was coming to it. This was not actually the case as 2 people only came to it. Bit disappointed with this.

Review 84:Size of room Location Food

Review 85:Could do with small table and chairs on balcony to enjoy summer evening on and take in the beautiful views

Review 86:Great location fantastic views good sized room food excellent

Review 87:Parking was restricted when arrived as the hotel /restaurant was busy due to a bank holiday weekend.

Review 88:Staff were friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere with live music on Sunday evening in the bar. Food in the restaurant was excellent and good value.

Review 89:Nothing much really. Maybe too much food on plates at dinner if you call that a negative! Most folk won't complain about that!

Review 90:Room with sea view was brilliant . location of hotel excellent. Food very good if maybe a bit too much. Breakfast great with lots of fresh fruit.

Review 91:While I understand that on the hottest day of the year so far the hotel was very busy, however I found that the time between placing order in the restaurant and the arrival of our meals was very excessive and somewhat distracted from our dining experience. This aside the food was very good.

Review 92:Location, view from balcony room, breakfast.

Review 93:This is our second year staying here and this year we decided to take a superior room which had the most wonderful view over the sea. Staff were very pleasent and helpful. Breakfast and dinner could not have been better. Overall a very enjoyable hotel break. Hope to be back again later this year.

Review 94:Staff - apart from barman and male waiter at breakfast we found staff surly and unprofessional. This is the only thing that would put us off coming back.

Review 95:Bedroom & facilities were very good.Location excellent.

Review 96:The hot water was luke warm at best. The restaurant gets very busy, you must book a table if you are there in high season. When we dined it was very noisy and too crowded. We were also kept awake by visitors sitting outside the hotel into the early hours of the morning on a fine summer's night.

Review 97:The location of this hotel is amazing.Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice of made to order dishes, nothing is too much trouble. We also had dinner one evening and really enjoyed it.

Review 98:Buffet part of the breakfast rather limited in range but the staff brought good quality cooked breakfast, toast etc to the table. Bar very noisy at night and we were glad to get out into the air and sit at well positioned outside tables.

Review 99:Booked at the very last minute on a whim and got the last room. Large, very clean and comfortable and we expected that it would overlook a car park so that did not worry us. Wanted an evening meal and although the restaurant was fully booked we could go early and they fitted us in with no hassle. Meal tasty and very good value.

Review 100:We didn't book dinner since we didn't know when we would arrive. Despite our late arrival and the fully booked restaurant, we were seated after a very short wait at the bar! An unexpected and very welcome treat after a long drive.

Review 101:despite being very busy, staff able to squeeze in to dinner after long day travelling. very good food, with beautiful view very comfortable rooms

Review 102:I requested a sea view for my parents 40th anniversary which they received and the hotel had left a complimentary bottle of prosecco for them which was a nice touch. Room large and comfy and great range for breakfast. Quiet room andlocation perfect base for exploring coast. Staff made my parents feel very welcome

Review 103:The dining room is very busy and noisy. The village is very busy with caravan/chalet parks and many of the people staying there eat at the hotel. If you want to have a quiet dinner go elsewhere to eat. The Wifi signal was not available in the bedroom, so we had to use the bar area to gain internet access

Review 104:The view was wonderful. The bedroom and bathroom well fitted out with the advantage of a lift to get upstairs. Car parking to the rear of the hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Review 105:The room was very comfortable, although no view. There was enough space for 3-4, but it would have been nice to have had the choice of a smaller room for 1-2, at a better rate

Review 106:Breakfast was very good, fruits, cereals etc, but the Ulster fry topped it all

Review 107:Lighting in bathroom is ghastly. That is the only negative thing I can say.

Review 108:We had a room with a view of the bay. Even a wee balcony! It was delightful.

Review 109:Cold shower

Review 110:The food and lovely staff

Review 111:lovely location wonderful staff

Review 112:Having to leave

Review 113:Lovely hotel, friendly staff and a relaxing place to stay

Review 114:Rooms rather sad and in need of update

Review 115:Great food, lovely staff ,wonderful sea views

Review 116:Music in the bar went on a little late.

Review 117:Location Ambience and Food and any hotel that even provides a guitar for it's guest gets my vote.

Review 118:seaview my husband was 50

Review 119:Location, relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable . Good breakfast and a nice big room

Review 120:Friendly staff, good food. Nice open fire and bar area. Spacious bedroom.

Review 121:The hotel has got such a homely feeling. The weather was terrible but the atmosphere inside was warm and really friendly

Review 122:The relaxing atmosphere is so addictive and that's why we go every year. The staff are so friendly. The Bayview is just a nice place to be.

Review 123:Size of rooms Sea view Friendly staff
