Reviews for Leyland Country House
Review 1:There was nothing that we did not like
Review 2:Genuine warm welcome. High standards of helpful staff and rooms; homely and comfortable. Ideal location. Really good breakfasts from local produce.
Review 3:Having to leave
Review 4:From the moment we stepped through the front door until it was time to depart this beautiful house and delightful family made our stay all we could have asked for. The White room has a stunning bathroom with luxury bath which very romantically accommodates two. A generous full English breakfast , cereal , fresh fruit , toast , yogurt , juice and tea ensure you are truly set for the day. The scrambled egg being the best i have ever eaten. The young lady serving our breakfast was very attentive , polite and had a great sense of humour. Lovely house , extremely lovely people and a pleasure to have spent our short break there. Liese pointed out two wonderful local places to have evening meals which did not disappoint and made us feel so welcome. I can't praise Leyland Country House enough for looking after us. Thank you so much
Review 5:We particularly liked the informal style of both the accommodation and the staff. A beautiful setting with with safe parking and an easy stroll to town. Don't normally do revues but it was a pleasant surprise.
Review 6:Lovely location, very quiet and restful. Liese is a fantastic host and was very accommodating, given that we arrived very late at night. The breakfast was cooked to order and tasted amazing. All round wonderful stay.
Review 7:Location for visiting this part of the New Forest very good fresh cooked breakfast of your choice, clean and fresh room ,very large bathroom with bath and shower
Review 8:nothing
Review 9:everything until we had to return home early due to me haveing a bad back but we would like to return at some point,Liese the owner just great in every way.
Review 10:A beautiful spot with views over green fields and close to Lymington’s High Street as well. Also just a minute to the IOW-ferry. New Forest on your doorstep. Liese is kind and helpful. Enormous bathroom, room itself (Gold Room) a bit on the small side. There is no lounge. Breakfast is lovely.
Review 11:Bathroom was no ensuite but was private and huge and bathrobes were provided for the quick trip to the loo. No bar so B&B only.
Review 12:Great location - rural setting but 15 minute stroll to the centre of Lyminton. Great freshly cooked breakfast, very friendly and helpful family running the place.
Review 13:Pink room not suited to tall or elderly people as in attic and bed, mirrors, shower etc too low for com fort. Kept hitting our heads!
Review 14:The staff were friendly and efficient, the standard of the furnishings excellent and the breakfast was superb.
Review 15:Nothing to complain about, had to access bathroom through hallway but was only for our use.
Review 16:House was spotless, gardens were lovely. Liese was friendly and welcoming, left a note on the door showing us our room in case we arrived early which was very thoughtful.
Review 17:Perhaps larger bath towels, two hands towels plus flannels would be nice.
Review 18:The bed! Linen, decor, coffee machine, water bottles, chocolates and chamomile tea
Review 19:Towels & bedding remained for 3 day stay. Would have been nice to have towels changed!!/(e
Review 20:Within walking distance of Lymington. Beautiful views. Very nice breakfast choices.
Review 21:Liese the owner was very friendly and offered information about the area which was helpful to us. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. We stayed in purple room which was very comfortable with large walk in shower.
Review 22:Pink room unsuitable for older guests. Two flights of stairs, very low bed and heavy fire door between bedroom and bathroom.
Review 23:Friendly welcome, super breakfast
Review 24:No bad experiences at all.
Review 25:Leyland House is so peaceful, friendly and very clean and comfortable. A very good breakfast menu including a cooked one if required. We were welcomed upon arrival with a most welcome cup of tea.
Review 26:The only problem was our room had a separate private bathroom. It had not occurred to me that this meant a short walk down the corridor. Would have much preferred an en-suite. Will know for next time.
Review 27:The hotel is in a lovely setting. It is very nicely decorated with lots of nice touches. The staff were friendly. Overall a very nice place to stay. Would definitely go again.
Review 28:There wasn't anything.
Review 29:Beautiful setting close to Lymington Quay. First class breakfast including a tremendous fresh fruit salad. Hospitality was excellent
Review 30:Breakfast finished a bit early limiting a lie in!
Review 31:Top quality service facilities and good breakfast. Peaceful and attractive country location but easy walk into town.
Review 32:Consider black out blinds in purple room as sun rises here and also maybe look at better sound installation as other guests can he noisy when closing bedroom doors without intention very small things not to be put off staying here
Review 33:Had a lovely stay in s fab property - very relaxing and confotable in a good location - would stay again and recommend
Review 34:Internet was rubbish Could have done with some music or radio during breakfast Heating in bedroom was poor
Review 35:Stunning room in a wonderful location. Five star luxury. Only 5 minutes walk from town centre
Review 36:There wasn't anything not to like!
Review 37:This was a lovely place to stay - we were made to feel very welcome, the bedroom and bathroom were large, clean and very comfortable. I really liked the original art on the walls and all the thoughtful touches. Breakfast was very good and we will definitely stay here again.
Review 38:The lack of hospitality. We stayed at Leyland's for 3 nights. Our room was not been cleaned at all, no towels changed, no re-filled water, coffee or milk. No fridge in the room. The option for next day breakfast was a form to fill the day before-no communication. The breakfast was very poor. All these above and much more will never be present in a "luxury" rating. We will not recommend this to anyone.
Review 39:We liked the view.
Review 40:The communication on bookings.com's part to Leyland Country House.
Review 41:The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was perfect. Most places where I've had breakfast, they cook way too much and its quite greasy. This was delicious and was enough to fill me up without leaving any to waste. The location is nice too. Its perfect for exploring the New Forest and/or taking a trip to the Isle of Wight. I would recommend it and I'd return again.
Review 42:The house was beautifully decorated, in a beautiful setting. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Everything was impeccably clean. The house was walking distance from town. Torches were given as street lights are non existant.
Review 43:In our room the bathroom was just outside our room rather than internal. All the others are en suite. We did know this before we booked.
Review 44:Helpful staff, internal decor of room.Very clean. good location could easily walk into Lymington.
Review 45:Check in time was 5pm which is too late. Should be nearer 3pm . checkout time was 10am which is too early and should be nearer 11am. Also walk into town is dangerous on the short stretch of road from the house to the bridge with no pavement making walking hazardous especially in the dark. This is not mentioned.
Review 46:Room very clean and a good size. Breakfast was excellent and parking was offered after we had checked out which was useful.
Review 47:Car is required for this stay
Review 48:Good location, good sleep, good bathroom, large room well appointed. The breakfast was good, we were offered whatever we wanted

Review 107:What is not to like
Review 108:Warm and friendly, comfortable bed and room, excellent shower in a large bathroom, excellent breakfast, clean, quiet and peaceful in a very handy location close to the town centre.
Review 109:-Absolutely dreadful wifi connectivity if you are staying in the attic(pink room). -We were supplied and expected to shower and wash our hairwith hand wash (luckily we had purchased our own and took it along). -Double bed was a little small and restricted (not ideal for people thatare over 6ft like myself). -Only got supplied with 1 sachet of sugarthroughout my stay in the room so could not enjoy any hot drinks. -Heardpeople snoring/talking during the nights of our stay below us!!
Review 110:Location: fantastic, 10 minute walk into town with great restaurants andpubs. Great scenery and very quiet. Very well executed breakfast meals, very courteous too. Room and Inn was overly clean and tidy.
Review 111:Fantastic Location, easy to get to Lymington (10 minute walk) easy reach of Burley Village and Brockenhurst. The hosts were lovely and the breakfast just right! Recommend the Purple Room for views and space. We will definately visit again.
