Reviews for Bank Guest House

Review 1:Bathroom door did not shut fully and bathroom itself was very small.

Review 2:Great size room with huge beds. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Located in the town which gave easy access to shops and pubs.

Review 3:Room was a bit small. Cooked breakfast was small. 1 hash brown. Not very many baked beans or mushrooms.

Review 4:Friendly owners. Good location right in the middle of town. Good coffee as well as a good fruit bowl at breakfast.

Review 5:The heated towel rail in the bathroom didn't work when the heating was on but probably only because it was a new system and needed bleeding. A hair dryer would have been useful to have in the apartment.

Review 6:Newly furnished apartment which was very well equipped and spacious. Perfect central location overlooking the river.

Review 7:Simple Guest house charging hotel prices. Room very small up two flights stairs. Booked with parking when it was a public car park behind hotel. Bathroom had automatic scent when door opened which maybe disguised a smell?

Review 8:Staff friendly

Review 9:Arriving in Wick to find that the owner was unaware of our booking!

Review 10:The owner was very helpful in offering us a nearby apartment as he was unable to offer us a room as he had not received any communication from Booking.com concerning our stay.

Review 11:Small B&B Guest House run by a young family. Friendly, clean, great shower, conveniently located and a wonderful breakfast made to order. A small cabinet or table in the bathroom to hold a guests personal hygiene products would be a real plus, but did not detract from our overall experience.

Review 12:The room was very comfortable, but the bathroom was very small, and a little awkward to use. Good quality furniture, and lovely large room.

Review 13:The house is located right in the middle of the town, so it's easy to walk to pubs and shops.

Review 14:Our twin bed room cost was given as £68 but because there was two of us we had to pay £88? Also we were told that the card payment system did not work so we had to get cash from a machine to pay. Unacceptable!

Review 15:the breakfast is a bit avarage comparing to other B&B's we booked

Review 16:nice clean house on a good location. The owner is very friendly and helpfull

Review 17:We booked a 2 bedroom apartment with River View, balcony and dining area. We got a 1 bedroom, ground floor apartment with a sofa bed - no balcony or dining area. Very disappointing when travelling as a family. We pointed this out to the owner, who gave us a £60 refund on the cost of our stay.

Review 18:The location was convenient for our trip in Scotland.

Review 19:The decor of was very outdated and the bath in the bedroom needed upgrading, as the enamel had worn down in the bath.

Review 20:The location of the hotel was very central.

Review 21:The bedrooms are on the third floor required 4 flights of stairs. The parking is to the rear again requiring a flight of stairs to reach the front door

Review 22:Centrally located

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:The Guest House is in the centre of Wick, very close to the station and the pedestrianised High Street with pubs and restaurants. It is a characterful building over a bank, comfortable and well-appointed with traditional furniture. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast excellent.

Review 25:I didn't like the fact that there was no closet or area to hang up clothes except a hook on the back of the door. There were no cleaning or replenishing supplies on Sunday. Came back to a room after being gone all day with the room looking the same as when I left.

Review 26:The breakfasts were great! The TV was a great size and good for watching Wimbledon.

Review 27:The bed was small & not very comfortable. We didn't know that the town closes up so early & was totally closed on Sundays. We were unable to achieve the goal of coming to Wick.

Review 28:The owners were very welcoming & accommodating.

Review 29:Wish there were a common sitting room, but minor inconvenience compared to the benefits on offer.

Review 30:Walk to train & family-friendly pub, easy drive to ferries & sights, great breakfast.

Review 31:The accomodation is above a Bank and access to the bedrooms is up 4 flights of stairs, no elevator/stair lift, definitely not disabled friendly. My wife has a hip problem but is not disabled, however she was struggling by the time we rreached bedroom level.

Review 32:The room was lovely but it did have an overwhelming damp smell, so much so that I didn't take my clothes out of my bag. Such a shame!

Review 33:Great central location (with plenty of parking at the back) and a lovely, friendly welcome. Breakfast was really good-the best I've had at a b&b! Confortable bed with an extra pillow in the cupboard if needed. Good WiFi signal.....once I found the right code!

Review 34:The room - lovely bedlinen + I could work the TV no bother. The breakfast room My shower - detachable showerhead for washing my hair + wonderfully SOFT good quality towels

Review 35:The proprietors went out of their way to make our stay a happy and good one. They attended to our every need promptly and with a smile. The tea tray in the room is always a deciding factor for me - and was well stocked. Breakfast provided choice with a variety of fresh fruit. I would recommend the Bank House without hesitation. Review 36:Room spacious, clean, warm and although on the main street the secondary glazing effectively shut out any noise. The en suite, although not large, was all that was needed and very clean. Excellent TV and WiFi reception in the room and the decent sized mugs for the tea/coffee making facilities made a lovely change from little 2 sips cups. If we needed a B&B in Wick again we'd look no further than The Bank House.

Review 37:Could do with a higher level of cleanliness (I'm very picky) Wifi not very good (weak signal)

Review 38:Breakfast Size of room Comfortable bed Very hospitable and welcoming

Review 39:Saturday night gets a bit noisy in the main street. The bed was a bit lumpy, and a couple of leaks in the bathroom plumbing needed fixing.

Review 40:A main street location close to most of Wick. Free parking directly behind the property. A large room (of a strange shape due to the added bathroom of the next room) with chairs and an extra bed so we could spread out. Breakfast freshly cooked by either Angela or her husband.

Review 41:We hadn't expected to have to walk up so many stairs but perhaps we felt it more then other guests as we had our son with learning difficulties with us who needed assistance with the stairs. Also we stayed on a Friday night and it was noisy in the street outside til the early hours of the morning. But nevertheless, we would still recommend this lovely B & B.

Review 42:It was very clean and well run. The breakfast was excellent. The beds were comfortable.

Review 43:Chaotic management of bookings Booking.com is equally guilty. Owners not monitoring emails and have no idea of Booking.com actions in releasing rooms. Results in overbooking and finding other guests ensconced in my room when I returned after dinner with my bag moved outside my room. This is the second time this week I have been overbooked by Booking.com I refused to move and the new guests moved who knows where

Review 44:Location,facilities,breakfast

Review 45:Nothing to dislike

Review 46:Angela was very welcoming and the Bank Guest House was a bit like entering a Tardis ! Entering the front door opened up to the most amazing staircase all beautifully decorated and luxury carpets. Our room was lovely and comfy and our breakfast was excellent. A real find in the centre of Wick. The French restaurant nearby "Bord de l'Eau" was recommended by Angela and proved superb and not pricey at all, but wonderful food. Would definitely stay again. Wonderful !!

Review 47:No bath mats. The massed seagulls, council need to do a cull.

Review 48:Decent sized rooms, easy to find, friendly service, good breakfast. Wick is not big but Bridge St is as central as you can get.

Review 49:Rooms are on top floor of old building. Car parking is public car park behind. To get to rooms with cases means steps from car park to upper street. Then over 50 steps to room.

Review 50:Central location.

Review 51:Booking form told us we could have access after 4pm. Arrived by train about 3 with luggage; B&B closed so went for coffee & came back at 4.15; still closed. Phoned - got answer machine. Girl at Tourist office tried on our behalf to phone; as did local hotel we visited in case we needed to find alternative accommodation. Again got answer machine, so we booked in to hotel at extra cost. Finally got hold of someone at about 5.15. It spoiled what was to have been a special gift to my husband for our Golden Wedding.

Review 52:Steep flights of stairs Requirement to make breakfast choice the previous evening Limited breakfast time - only one hour window Beds too soft - and high tog value duvet in an already very warm room proved uncomfortably hot Very small ensuite made use of wash basin quite challenging Dirty window - courtesy of seagulls

Review 53:Easy access to railway station and other amenities Nicely furnished and decorated - fresh feel - nice period features/style Constant hot water and excellent shower
