Reviews for L'Alpage

Review 1:Limited local skiing, ski bus stop outside hotel Poor WiFi in rooms Breakfast adequate Water never hot but never cold!

Review 2:Spacious room (triple) with balcony Excellent dinners

Review 3:Rooms are a bit basic, but that was ok. Wifi did not connect, but the hotel was full, so may have been a bandwidth issue.

Review 4:Nice, friendly staff. Good food.

Review 5:Wifi only at the reception. No problem with the showers!

Review 6:This was second time for us at this place. One winter, one summer. Food is great, atmosphere warm.

Review 7:No WiFi in rooms. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. No curtains or glass on the tub shower.

Review 8:Great staff and nice location.

Review 9:Hot tub not working

Review 10:Fabulous New Years Eve dinner and celebrations.

Review 11:Close to busy main road. No shower curtain. Walls quite thin.

Review 12:We liked the location, area is beautiful, nice village. Rooms were comfortable, good size, clean but basic.

Review 13:Water was not hot even in off-peak times. Would have been nice to have had a kettle in the room to make hot drinks.

Review 14:Nice hotel, efficient staff. Able to put our luggage on last day into a secure room after checkout so we could ski before taking a late flight.

Review 15:The owner speaks no English and appears not even to like the English. There is NO soundproofing from room to room. There are no drinks facilities in the rooms and the owner even stopped us making a cup of tea with our own tea bags!! He took the cup of water from me and poured it away so we would have to buy a coffee from behind the bar. The breakfast was sparse and once it's gone it's gone. I wanted a Croissant but there were none left at 09:00. We used it for business and it was just about acceptable, had I been on holiday I would be gutted.

Review 16:Good location for skiing in Chatel and Abondonce.

Review 17:Room was very pokey for 4 adults, shower was ridiculous. Management unhelpful, even by French standards.

Review 18:Good location, within walking distance of local ski lift, bus stop directly opposite for Chatel slopes. Hotel bar was good with free pool table. Pub next door was great, live band Saturday night. Overall, good value for money.

Review 19:We liked the friendly atmoshere of the place. The rooms were cleaned every day. Inviting bar which was great to relax in after a day on the slopes. An internal lift was helpful for luggage. A convenient location for the town and lifts - we had a car and parked in the hotel car park. The restaurant served excellent food and there was a good wine list. Hot tub was a bit of fun also. Was amazing value for money and ideally located for the PdS ski region.

Review 20:Relaxed environment with friendly staff in a location right beside a bus stop offering easy access to main Chatel ski lifts. Also within easy walking distance of ski hire shops and right next door to a great pub/restaurant called Le Fer Rouge

Review 21:Not very up to date rooms If you don't speak French you are quit on your own...... It's not Austria The atmosphere in the resaturant could be better, too much light and during Christmas no christmas feeling

Review 22:Great place to go skiing Hotel is on a good location Food is good

Review 23:Staff delightful and extremely helpful. Chef Stephan was brilliant and created delicious vegetarian meals for me. Waiter Sebastian, an absolute gem, making a solo traveller feel welcome and relaxed in the restaurant.

Review 24:* Hotel is built strange - not so comfortable to go from reception\restaurants to rooms * Restaurant is very good but dinner was pretty small for hungry skier after full day of ski

Review 25:Good value for the cost Clean Good restaurant

Review 26:Same place dinner seating - mix it up a bit. The half-board dinner menuhas no alternatives. Breakfast choice was sub-average. The guy at thefront desk/bar needs to work on his smile/charm andservice/hospitality skills - even a little would have made quite adifference for us.

Review 27:Food was good. Close to the parking for the ski slopes (but don'ttry walk as there are no pavements). Restaurant staff and the girl atthe front desk were all helpful and friendly.

Review 28:Room was a little spartan. Broken window in room. For the price we paid we expected something better. The room was also falsely advertised by booking.com as having a balcony, which was not true.

Review 29:Staff friendly. Good location.

Review 30:- lack of communication. On arrival we were not informed about the key pad to get in at night after staff leave almost got locked out one night. - Reception was not staffed very well and it was only by chance we found out on last night there wouldnt be anyone around at at 7am on morning of our departure to enable us check out.

Review 31:Location - proximity to bus stop with easy access to slopes and village. - the Fer Rouge (bar and restaurant) being right next door was a bonus. We used it a lot. - The breakfast - continental but plenty of it.

Review 32:Very comfortable spacious and quiet room-all the basics were there (ie good beds, hot water, reasonable parking, ski storage.)-very helpful receptionist, decent value dinner and breakfast. Not as luxurious as some hotels in the area but comfortable and value for money.

Review 33:The system of leaving the room keys on a board in reception (whereanyone can take them) seemed a bit strange.

Review 34:The room was large and very comfortable; the hotel has a nice atmosphereand is located close to ski lifts.

Review 35:Lot's of facilities didn't work: internet in the room, toilet wasleaking, noisy rooms, shower head spreading water everywhere, etcetera. This hotel does not deserve a 3 stars, that's for sure.

Review 36:Good location for skiing, nice village

Review 37:The wi-fi was hit and miss, the parking could be a real problem becauseof limited space, The ski storage room was a bit small with no workbench to tune equipment, It should be known that all restaurants in thearea require a reservation, The shower did not work properly and sprayedwater everywhere.

Review 38:I like the location for snowboarding, The staff was took a time to workthrough language barriers explaining tradition and local cuisine,

Review 39:Friendly and obliging.

Review 40:Bar charges differed depending on the night.

Review 41:Friendly , helpful staff.

Review 42:All ok , Traditional french Hotel

Review 43:Poor communication in English. Not every day towel change.

Review 44:Location.Breakfast.

Review 45:Poor isolation of window

Review 46:Nice new look of the room we stayed in.

Review 47:Friendly hotel with good facilities at an affordable price.

Review 48:Was a nice hotel traditional to the region nice food and good locationexcellent bar right next door.
