Reviews for Sugar Sugar
Review 1:We found out when we got there that there was a pub smack below us! The base was horrendous the bed was vibrating bang bang bang all night, the bed wasnt really comfortable, we will never stay again thats for sure, we told staff about a bad night which in response she chuckled and said im guessing you was on the first floor!
Review 2:The room was small but was a nice room
Review 3:We had trouble pulling out the sofa bed which was because it had seen better days and needs replacing.
Review 4:The themed room and how the sink/fridge were inside a cupboard
Review 5:dirty windows chewing gum on skirting boards Kentucky fried chicken lid left under the bed could of done with a bit better hovering and polishing
Review 6:Bed was comfy and helpful staff
Review 7:Scruffy room!! Stains in the shower/toilet. Pubic hair in the bathroom. Stains on the walls which hadn't been scrubbed, floor was full of hairs and bits which you could tell it hadn't been hoovered in months. Milk was 3 weeks out of date and the windows didn't shut properly, there was paint/wallpaper missing of the walls. Bed was made very messy and had hairs in it. Very scruffy needs re-doing. Only good thing about it was it was a 2 minute walk from all the pubs/clubs. Would not stay here again or would not recommend, very disappointed would expect better for a £90 room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review 8:Brilliant place to stay for a night out as your close to the pubs!
Review 9:Noise from the bar below was pretty bad but if you can't beat them join them. Enjoyed the cocktails and the music was good
Review 10:Location was great.... rooms were much more funky than your standard seaside hotel/bed and breakfast.
Review 11:nothing,
Review 12:The family room was excellent! Spacious, spotless, and newly decorated, with brilliant facilities. The staff were great and so welcoming. We especially liked the outside area and the kids loved it! Did think it was going to be noisy with the music below at night, but it really wasnt and it was quiet by midnight. Couldnt recommend enough and would definately go back to that room, absolutely spotless and so comfy with crisp clean bedding and with the comfiest bed!
Review 13:As I was there for a long bank holiday party weekend the hotel's location was perfect. Close to bars & clubs and eateries! But therefore be warned , during night, as the hotel is on the Market Square opposite nightclubs and the hotel itself is ontop of the excellent Bar Babylon, there is a lot of music & crowd noise at night.
Review 14:Worst place I've ever stayed in. Bed wasn't made up at 15.30, scruffy, dusty, carpet filthy and at least 20 years old. Free Wi-Fi came and went all night. The photographs of rooms must be very old. Dirty glasses and cups. Noise went on until 2am. No remote for TV.
Review 15:Location only.
Review 16:I DIDNT LIKE THE FACT THAT I PAYED 50 EXPECTING BREAKFAST AND NONE WAS AVAILABLE, I HAD TO GO OUT AND BUY SOME FOR MYSELF AND SAUGHTER.
Review 17:THE HOTEL WAS BASED IN A GOOD LOCATION
Review 18:Worse hotel ever! Too noise,it was like try to sleep at a nightclub!room wasn't clean, breakfast wasn't available and too expensive!I wouldn't stop there again for free
Review 19:Absolutely nothing!
Review 20:The room was just awful, it was very tacky. There was dust all over the skirting and on most of the furniture, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned very thoroughly there were marks everywhere, the carpet was badly worn and discoloured and there were straightener burns at one end. When we went to make tea the cups had sugar all over them and there was no milk, some of the furniture was stained and when we came back to the bar for a drink the bar tender was too busy serving friends that when he turned around he went to serve other people although I'd waiting for 10 minutes with no one else there. Bad windows and no ventilation but them meant we had to listen to karaoke from across the street and the locals relationship issues up to 4am on a Sunday.
Review 21:When we did go upstairs after getting drinks at the downstairs bar the bar tender said thanks and good night.
Review 22:very loud noise from nightclub below, saw on website might be a little noise but did not expect the amount of noise there was
Review 23:easy to get to location, central to all amenities.
Review 24:Not clean Dust everywhere Awful shower Not been hoovered Blinds broken No toilet paper in our room - Didn't realise you had to bring your own?! Will not be returning and don't recommend to anyone!!
Review 25:being able to party downstairs till late, then toppling not far upstairs to room :) Themed room was great, comfy, and pink!! fair do's the hotelier said "it's the play lounge, it is what it is!!" lol
Review 26:Room hadn't been cleaned, bed un-made. When I showed the lady behind bar she said it was the 5th room out of 7 that hadn't been cleaned and I asked why didn't they check. Two male staff went up to change sheets but when I went upstairs there were long hairs on the duvet. Cup was unwashed and it looked generally dirty. Also, music from bar downstairs stayed on quite late although I didn't check on the website that it was a hotel / bar so that might be my fault. Also no-one downstairs in the morning as it was all locked up so no breakfast available (again I didn't look when I booked as it was last minute. This was the only room I could find near to the station and no wonder! At £65 room only it wasn't cheap.
Review 27:Staff were ok. Bathroom was ok
Review 28:Arrived as planned to be told we didn't have a booking and that they were full despite having a booking number, offered a room in a sister hotel miles away. Manager finally sorted it, might sound petty but only 1 cup to make a cuppa when 2 guests, just little things that make a difference.
Review 29:The decor was nice!
Review 30:Squeaky bed, very small and shabby room, it was called India a nice theme but as I'm nearly 6ft tall and my fiancé is 6ft 5 it was an attic room so was small, tiles missing in bathroom and shower was a drip not a shower.
Review 31:Location
Review 32:The wifi didn't work, on the website it said that there would be a breakfast, however when we came down stairs we were greeted by the cleaning lady so had to go elsewhere for breakfast and left the hotel key on the bar - rather strange!
Review 33:Staff were extremely friendly and understanding. The room was nice and the bar downstairs was lively - just what we came for. Would stay again
Review 34:Loud music pounding until 2am RIGHT UNDER bedrooms. 2.10am guests left noisily, then, to add insult to injury the staff were throwing empty beer barrels out into the passage way under our rooms! Rooms dirty, rubbish on floor, soap dispensers empty, no tooth mugs, chipped coffee mugs, it went on. In the morning no staff around to talk to just a damaged key return. This is not a hotel!
Review 35:it was our second day, we had gone back to room for a few hours before going out in the evening, the cleaner uses the master key and lets herself in without knocking, then questioned if we had a right to be in the room, when i complained to manager he said what did i want him to do, so my partner complained and got some of our money back, plus they dont offer food as it states, and they do not cater for disabled people, my partner has degenerative arthuritis in his left ankle and had to walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to our room. we will be going back to cleethorpes but wont be staying there. as we had to cut our stay short, no mattress protectors, shower n toilet tiles cracked, rusty taps oh and very very noisy
Review 36:nothing about the hotel
Review 37:needs upgrading, dirty carpet,a cold room, wardrobe too cold to hang clothes in,managed to run half a bath then water was just not hot enough to fill bath and didn't come hot enough till next morning.we were in the white room with a very large tv great if it would have worked off the remote,we told them but didn't get another.this was the least of our worries, think we were directly above the dj,we knew it was above a bar but just too much till early hours even though we,d been out ourselves.would not stay in this room again
Review 38:large room, good location, free parking
Review 39:Room 1 out of the 2 rooms i booked was unclean unmade bed rubbish on bed , used dirty cups and glasses no kettle, broken pink bed lights..room 2 dirty bathroom and mirrors broken old unusable blinds .also we booked online and paid £95 each room with breakfast ....they dont even do breakfast so we got £10 per person bak ..shockingly bad , upset as it was my partners christmas present , also rooms look nothing like pics on there site
Review 40:That fact that it was close to bars.
Review 41:Check in was at a bar downstairs which was open and very loud until 3am. Was told on arrival there is no breakfast. Shown to our room and there was nowhere to hang any clothes. There was no heating on, told boiler was broke so had to go out as it was freezing in the room (was fixed when we came back at 9pm). Both soap and shower gel dispensers in the bathroom were empty with a piece of metal in the bath that had fallen off the shower. Woke up after 3 hours sleep to sainsburys delivery lorry, looked out the window and seen about 12 rats running about down the alleyway leading to the car park in between hotel and the Indian restaurant next door. We packed up and took the long way round to the car. Bad experience of Cleethorpes and won't be returning :-(
Review 42:Bath was a plus. Bed OK.
Review 43:Dusty, cobwebs, dirty bathroom floor, stained toilet, limescale covered bath tap, extractor not working. Kettle furred up and lid was broken. Large round bed uncomfortable, no mattress protector, very thin duvet and pillows. No hangers in closets, draped clothes over the rail. TV remote didn't work.
Review 44:Helpful friendly staff. Room fridge, big towels, clean bedding, stylish bar downstairs, which was surprisingly quiet. Heating in room was effective. It's a shame this boutique hotel has gone into decline.
Review 45:Didn't like the 4 poster squeaky springy bed which had come away from the wall. The disco which sounded like it was in the room. Then When that finished the sainsburys delivery which arrived at 5am and sounded like it was in the room till about 7am I honestly did not sleep one wink. Not worth £75 in a millions years. I recommend premier inn with nice bed and reasonable location and reasonable entertainment for a out £50. I paid for 2 nights £175 and went home after one. Sorry guys not be coming again.
Review 46:Liked the friendly welcome and the location or travel purpose
Review 47:Rudest most incompetent staff/owners I have ever experienced Not just unclean but disgusting VERY noisy Decor - not thought out well Being asked if I wanted to change my own bed?!! Unorganised
Review 48:Location was good for what we needed it for
Review 49:Noise, small size bed , lack of pressure on shower manners of staff. Definition of luxury room is far from correct in my opinion with cracked tiles etc
Review 50:Upon arrival i was greeted by friendly staff. The lady who checked me in was lovely and friendly and made me feel welcome and at ease as i was staying on my own that night. I was shown to my room Which was called the play lounge... Which was nice and spacious, with a nice sizej ensuite, and coffee / tea making facilities with sink and mini fridge inside a small walk in style cupboard which i thought was great. The bar below is a lively bar with good atmosphere i went down and got a bottle of prosecco for my room. The night life is very lively however i managed to sleep with windows open all night and didnt find it to be an issue... Nice to hear people having a good time out there. Yes there was a delivery at 6am with a store close by but unfortunatley thats life people have a job to do i was the lucky one laying in bed and didnt feel the need to close the window. Had a very comfortable night and headed off late morning after checking out and enjoyed a lovely stroll along the promenade on my way to an event that was taking place at the leisure centre car park. Will definately stay again. Thanks sugar sugar.
Review 51:We arrived about half past twelve we didn't expect our room to be ready but did expect them to have somewhere to leave our bags but we're told they had no where but said we could leave them in the porch at our own risk it was also a bit expensive as there was no breakfast included would not stay again
Review 52:The location
Review 53:Noisy late at night and very early in morning 6.0 am onwards. Room was more than a bit tired. No room service all week. No breakfast facilities at all.
Review 54:Car parking ¢ral location
Review 55:Whilst the room I stayed in wasn't exactly dirty, it wasn't exactly clean either. The TV remote was the wrong one for the TV . Worst of all was the continuously loud and intrusive kitchen extractor fan under the window that rattled and clanged all night long with its cheerless monotonous drone making it hard to sleep. Even closing the window didn't help much as the room was then too hot without any ventilation despite the ridiculously noisy fan only feet away.
Review 56:It was conveniently placed. The optional parking was secure.
Review 57:Some of the pictures on the stairwell were inappropriate - shower needs updating -not much power - some noise from the pub below
Review 58:I liked the names the rooms has been given Bed very comfy

Review 99:Perfect location for a night out, clean and friendly staff

Review 107:A hotel with a lively bar And close to the beach.
Review 108:Not much power in the shower Stained carpets no breakfast
Review 109:Friendly atmosphere accommodating staff likely bar
Review 110:having to go into main bar to check in
Review 111:room lovely staff very nice
Review 112:Rooms require refurbishment. When we arrived they were unaware of our booking despite booking over a week prior. Bathroom and room dirty. Shower was disgraceful, not enough water pressure to wash hair!!
Review 113:Location that's it!
Review 114:The noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in, and the noise doesn't start until after midnight. I presume the bar manager lived in the room above the one I was staying in, I heard him walking around until about 2:30 am, and you heard everything, every loo visit, I presume he must have been a night person. Then as I'm nodding off at 4am his mates started shouting out if the window to wake him up, I though there was a fire, but they were just chatting at the top of their voices, the wall must have been made of acoustic paper or something because I felt as if I was part of the conversation. At 5am I fell asleep again just as the delivery lorries started to turn up... I gave up after that. Needless to say I wont be staying there again!!!
Review 115:The staff were great, very helpful and friendly, the bar downstairs was great as well. I enjoyed my stay until I went to bed, then the whole thing turne into a night mare
Review 116:Getting fined for a health issue that Iam under hospital treatment for and them taking the money out my bank without permission
Review 117:Rooms where great and the amenities where excellent will be defiantly going back
Review 118:As a contractor this had everything that i required and must say i was surprised by the room in relation to how cheap it was, will definitely be using it a lot more often
Review 119:There being nobody in attendance 24hrs. Was stuck in car park and no body to unlock gates. We were nearly late for a funeral!! was very distressing to say the least. Also not conducive to get any sleep whatsoever!!!
Review 120:Not a lot
Review 121:However, as has already been stated, the hotel is situated above a bar and there was quite a lot of noise coming down from the bar downstairs, especially as we were situated right above it. This did not bother us however as we did not sleep until late anyway, it was the delievery of the marketplace right outside at 6.30am which was the pain. However, it was still quite a good stay, just not recommended for people who want an early night.
Review 122:A quick walk to the beach and surrounding areas, good price for the night and the room was in good condition. Flexible book in and book out times and the staff were friendly and helpful.
