Reviews for Morlea Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:The only downside I found was the only 2 time options for breakfast (quite early for us, as we came to also rest a bit).

Review 2:The room is exactly as showed in the pictures - very clean, warm, confortable with all the needed things for a short stay. Lovely breakfast as well.

Review 3:We stayed at Morlea Bed & Breakfast when we were doing a tour of Loch Ness. The room was available as part of a value deal and was a great price. The owners could not have been nicer and when they heard I was a comedian, treated my wife and I to some jokes from the 70's!!!! The pub next door has really good food and an unbelievable array of whiskey.

Review 4:Beautiful room with comfortable beds and a private bath. Breakfast was good, the dining room was clean and set up nicely. Really lovely owners. Walking distance to Urquhart Castle (for me anyway, it's about 3 miles), nice places to eat, right by a working farm offering fresh produce and baked goods. This was my favorite town on my holiday. There is a strong sense of community here - we felt like welcomed friends.

Review 5:Bathroom was not in the room

Review 6:Small room but had decent wifi and a nice bed. Good breakfast. Real close to the castle and had several other things to do a short walk away

Review 7:The breakfast times 8-8:30am were too early and the lampshade in the room was full of dust, breakfast could have done with some variation, ie the option of added beans, fried bread, mushrooms etc - apart from that good value for money.

Review 8:The bed was really comfy and the hosts really friendly - lovely fresh linen and towels and hospitality tray replenished generously daily

Review 9:Room small even though we booked the deluxe double! No view as stated in description, shower a waste of time ! Not given a choice of what to have on your cooked breakfast and definitely not a Scottish breakfast as advertised!

Review 10:Very clean, comfortable bed

Review 11:carpet in the bathroom is weird

Review 12:The gentleman running the B&B was so kind and friendly we were absolutely amazed. We wanted to leave extra early so he made sure we had everything for breakfast and he checked on us several times to make sure we were happy.

Review 13:The hosts were friendly and easily accommodated for our gluten-free requirements. The room/amenities were great and offered a quiet respite and was still centrally located on the village green.

Review 14:We didn't see Nessi :(

Review 15:The Location was brilliant and the owners are friendly hosts. Our room was cute and very clean. Unfortunately we booked just one night. Breakfast was great and would definitely stay again.

Review 16:when we arrived we said we had to be away by 8.15 as we had a time schedule to keep. breakfast was offered at 8 or 8.30, we chose 8.00 and pre ordered. We went down right on time and all other guests were already there. Our 8am breakfast arrived at 8.25 so we had to basically gulp it down and go. Not much hot breakfast choice for a vegetarian - fried egg, tomato and hash brown. A nice touch would have been to say come down 10 mins early. Nice enough B & B but def more business like than the others we stayed in enroute.

Review 17:on route for Great Glen Way. Room was comfortable and clean.

Review 18:The town is picturesque, the owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful.the b+b is perfect, clean and very pretty.I would definitely recommend the Morlea to anyone visiting the area.Thankyou for a perfect stay.can't wait to return x

Review 19:The room was a little small, but adequate. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. A lovely quiet location after driving through Inverness we were very happy with our choice.

Review 20:you are not able to pay by card, but it wasnt such a big problem after all wifi was quite slow though

Review 21:We had such a great time staying in Morlea bed and breakfast. Located just in the centre of Drumnadrochit, opposite to bus stop and few metres from Fidlers Whiskty bar and restaurant. The owners were very nice and helpful, breakfast was amazing - full scotish breakfast, with more other choices of cereals, fruit, cheese etc, Our room was nice and cozy, but we lack any warddrobe storage or somewhere to put our clothes in. Our room was en-suite with bathroom, but on the other hand our friends had separate bathroom but bigger and little nicer room with fireplace.

Review 22:None at all

Review 23:The room was surprisingly very clean and comfortable. The staff, which I think is the owner was very helpful and accommodating. Great place.

Review 24:Breakfast was really not very nice or well cooked. All that amazing local produce is available and they used poor produce and cooked it badly. Eggs were microwaved; I suspect more than that was. Only cleaned our room once which was odd.

Review 25:Good location, comfy bed (though bedding didn't fit and kept coming off which was annoying

Review 26:Great place in a great little village in the Highlands. Right around the corner from both Loch Ness museums, a castle, and Loch Ness itself. Also just 20 minutes from Inverness. Great comfortable room - bed was extremely comfortable, cozy bathrobes, in-room coffee & tea. Great breakfast!! They were also very accommodating with people who had allergies or other aversions.

Review 27:Only booked one night, room small but very comfortable.clean private bathroom down hallway complete with fluffy bathrobe. Hot drink facilities in room and breakfast were excellent

Review 28:The bathroom not being en-suite, although it wasn't a problem

Review 29:It is well situated to travel the highlands by car as well as being able to do Isle of Skye in one day. The owners are very pleasant and even gave us some eats to take with seeing that we left before their lovely breakfast was served.

Review 30:The room and bed were very small. Sleeping this close to my wife was indeed a novel experience. I also was not aware that I could only pay by cash and had to find a working ATM at about 10 at night.

Review 31:We were made very welcome and had a pleasant evening people watching through an open window from our second story room. The property is close to major attraction of Loch Ness. The breakfast was excellent, the best we have experienced on our travels through Scotland.

Review 32:Village too quiet and everything seems to close early. Restaurant nearby to B & B closes at 1430 and didnt reopen till 1800 and you are expected to book in advance somehow.

Review 33:Nice breakfast and lovely comfortable room with nice en suite.

Review 34:Laurence and Tracy are the same as ever, laid back and lots of fun. The rooms are still the same size but the doors are new, so that's nice. WiFi in the room is now top class and the view out the front hasn't been spoilt by a multi-story car park on the green or anything like that. Fiddler's for the evening is just a short stagger away. So we were happy, and it's a good base for Inverness airport and for setting off round the highlands and islands without that long trek up from Weegie or the Bug.

Review 35:We opted for a room with en-0suite facilities, room was large and comfortable. We required a vegetarian breakfast which was not a problem and was freshly cooked. Owners are friendly and welcoming, Wi-Fi connection was good and we had a pleasant stay. Good value.

Review 36:I loved the room size, comfortable bed and friendliness of our hosts. We also enjoyed our breakfasts which included the usual cooked options but also there were various other options for example, numerous fresh fruit choices, cereals, waffles, yoghurts, breakfast bars and oatcakes with cheeses to mention a few. Our breakfasts were among the best we have been served. Great value for money.

Review 37:All kinds of need to be improved

Review 38:It is the worst accommodation during my trip. If you just want to find a place over night, choose it . If you want to get some surprise, I don't recommend it.

Review 39:The location was exactly what we were looking for - very near Loch Ness. The Loch Ness exhibition centre was a few hundred metres away, and it was near Urquhart Castle. Nice restaurant just a few metres away. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely.

Review 40:I had forgotten that I had to pay cash on arrival. I had booked 14 nights in 11 different accommodations about 3 months prior to staying. Most were paid in advance so I totally forgot this one had to be cash. Wish they had emailed a reminder.

Review 41:There was parking in the back and breakfast was very nice

Review 42:The check-in time was fairly late not until 4.00pm which was quite annoying. Breakfast times available were not suitable for what we wanted

Review 43:B & B was in a good location and was a nice place to stay

Review 44:door was locked on arrival rang bell no reply tried again one hour later no reply sat in car for another half hour tried again got in the owners were in all the time bad crac toilet was down a flight of stairs not good enough will not recomend this place

Review 45:Only thing I can say is the shower pressure wasn't great only because I needed to wash my hair. Very minor, wonderful place :)

Review 46:Staff lovely, breakfast really good also. Bed sooooo comfortable and facilities really nice.

Review 47:breakfast was not full Scottish as promised. The continental selection was very meagre The water pressure was very bad

Review 48:Very nice bed situated in a sweet little town spacious room

Review 49:The bed was a bit hard for me, but I am used to an air filled bed. Others may find it perfect. Because it is off the village green, we drove past it & spent some time looking for it. (should have gone to the visitor Info center nearby)

Review 50:In a busy village, yet quiet. Breakfast was excellent. The room neat, clean & tidy. Nice walks/ hikes to take.

Review 51:There were a past guest's clothes left in the wardrobe, the bathmat in the en suite was paper/disposable. Otherwise everything was great.

Review 52:The b&b was fantastic, excellent value for money and the room was done up to a high standard with a very comfortable bed and a brand new en suite shower.

Review 53:Not a thing. very enjoyable stay in a great part of the world.

Review 54:Location location location the highlands and this small town hold a very special place in my heart.

Review 55:Just wasnt as near to the loch ness as thought

Review 56:Very welcoming lovely room even had an extra heater for if we got cold . The owners were knowledgeable about the area and more besides just sorry we didnt stay for longer as our time there was cut short by a landslide on A82 which meant we had to drive up to inverness to get tbere

Review 57:Did not like the bathroom being out of the bedroom and down some stairs. The shower was dated and there is nowhere to put your shampoo while you shower. The landlady did not smile once but the landlord was very pleasant.

Review 58:Comfy bed and cooked breakfast.

Review 59:The room was spacious and comfortable and the owner was very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely. The village itself has some lovely walks, although not much to do if you dont like walking. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning.

Review 60:Mattress felt like it needed replacing n see through door on bathroom in room - sometimes we need some alone time. :-)

Review 61:Owners were keen to please, nice little b n b great value for money

Review 62:The only slight niggle was the lack of water pressure in the en-suite shower. Water was nice and hot, but only a trickle.

Review 63:We had the deluxe double, very comfortable and cosy, didn't even need to use the extra heater supplied. Very comfy bed, lovely decor, and complete with TV, integral DVD player and Sky for chilling with. Very friendly and obliging hosts, even gave us a lift to the pub when my partner wanted a night off from driving, and a lovely dog to make it even more homey. Fantastic full breakfast, and good choice of options. Would definitely recommend.

Review 64:Really nice, clean and very quite, very handy for walking to Fiddler for dinner or Lochness Inn for a drink or something to eat. Would recommend and stay again.

Review 65:Shower was a bit temperamental but otherwise everything was great

Review 66:Had a great time in Drumnadrochit and Morlea's was a brilliant base for us. Breakfast was good and we had everything we needed.

Review 67:Great location in the centre. Clean, good sized room, bathroom was fine. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. Only minor problem was carrying cases up stairs to level 1. Would stay again.

Review 68:nothing

Review 69:Morlea B&B was a perfect stay! Located about a relaxed 40 min walk away from the urquhart castle it is hosted by a caring couple. The room was super clean and the breakfast offered everything the heart wishes for - fruits, muesli and all the scottish classics. For everyone who's searching for a comfy B&B in beautiful countryside - you're safe with this one!

Review 70:The shower pressure was not great, just enough...

Review 71:We were there for 1 night only as we were passing by to visit the Loch Ness. The location is very convenient with a good restaurant close by (1 min walking distance). The room was tidy and clean. Breakfast was home made and tasty. Staff was nice too.

Review 72:We were right at the heart of Drumnadrochit on our honeymoon. The owners are wonderful people, and very accommodating. Morlea B&B is the perfect spot to explore Loch Ness, and only a short drive from Inverness. The tourism center is a 2-block walk. Almost next door to Morlea is Fiddler's. Fiddler's is a GREAT place for food & drink, especially if you are into whisky. We spent many wonderful meals there.

Review 73:The rooms are really comfortable, clean, as the bathroom. We had an excellent night and an excellent breakfast. Morlea is near to a really nice restaurant, and also Uqhart Castle.

Review 74:Laurence and Tracy are a very likeable couple and nothing was too much trouble. They also provided an excellent breakfast and we will be visiting them again in the future.

Review 75:There aren't many dining choices in the area, so if you're planning to have a meal around there would be good to make a reservation at a pub/restaurant nearby.

Review 76:This rather small B&B was definitely the right choice to stay at in the area. The staff was very friendly, but not annoyingly so, so privacy was not a problem, the room was very comfortable and spotless, with all the facilities, and the breakfast was amazing. There is a convenience store just across the road and a couple of pub/restaurants in the area. There are hiking possibilities nearby (see hiking websites for routes), so it's a good place to stay when visiting the highlands.

Review 77:Breakfast sausage not fully cooked. Small rooms, but ok. Need to offer shampoo and conditioner.

Review 78:Nice soft bed. Nice owners. Great parking and nearby restaurants and Loch Ness boat tours.

Review 79:Be very clear about your bathroom--I was unpleasantly surprised to find we had an external one--"private" but down a flight of stairs from the bedrooms!! Not a good situation in the middle of the night. The website does not make this clear enough when booking. It should be *much* clearer about the choices--"private" does not do it here. It's a long walk, not on the same hall but down stairs. 10 pounds is a paltry discount for that. Rooms should be more like 50/70 to alert guests of a major difference in the bathrooms. Forewarned means no bad surprises!

Review 80:Very nice location, good breakfast, excellent restaurant next door. Friendly. Easy to get to Loch Ness and attractions. Pleasant, peaceful spot. Room was very clean. See the negatives--if you are good with not having a bathroom this is fine.

Review 81:Nothing to dislike

Review 82:This B&B was perfect for our needs. The owner was extremely welcoming, made us feel at home. The room was lovely, very clean, breakfast was lovely. Good value for money, nice quiet area, would return here in the future, no problems. For anyone that doesn´t normally use B&B´s, please give it a go, you won´t be disappointed

Review 83:Coming home...

Review 84:Friendly, clean and very comfortable. Close to Loch Ness,an ideal base for exploring local attractions, Glens and Lochs. Quiet location with local pubs and places to eat.

Review 85:Nothing

Review 86:The bed was the most comfortable we have encountered on 5 weeks of travel. It was also lovely to be able to open the window and get fresh air. The breakfast was delicious both the hot and cold options. The location is great with a good pub/restaurant very close by

Review 87:Liked it all

Review 88:Great location for all the interesting and beautiful that the area has to offer. It is close enough to Inverness to be convenient to see the sights in that area as well. Take the Loch Ness tour offered in the small store instead of the bigger ones. It was wonderful

Review 89:The room lacked air conditioning or even a fan and it was a warm July day which made the room slightly uncomfortable.

Review 90:Location was a great base for seeing the local area. The restaurant next door served delicious food. The room itself was very comfortable with a large washroom. The wifi worked well and the breakfast was very tasty.

Review 91:Stayed there two day last day went to pay they told me it was cash only .didnt have the cash had to find a bank ,it didn't say on my booking form that it was cash payment for room

Review 92:Bed was comfortable room was clean great view from my window

Review 93:Nothing.

Review 94:Gorgeous village. Lovely room and really nice host.

Review 95:Beautiful place, nice big room and delicious Scottish breakfast! Strongly recommended!

Review 96:Perfect hosts and the comfiest bed in Scotland

Review 97:Perhaps the shower glitch can be sorted out prior to our check in

Review 98:Homely

Review 99:Water pressure for shower was too low.

Review 100:Everything

Review 101:On every single step the owner thought we are leaving without paying.. Not funny at all :/

Review 116:Shower didn't have the best water pressure.
