Reviews for The Babbling Brook
Review 1:Only booking one night
Review 2:The staff were so friendly and accomodating. the food was exceptional. I had a rump steak for dinner and it was the best steak I had ever had and genuinly could have been a fillet steak! The single room was immaculate and set apart from the main building. Could not fault this place in any way at all.
Review 3:Excellent food in great surroundings. Quiet location, very comfortable room. We had the rib-eye steak and the lamb rump. Food served very hot and with fresh vegetables. Highly recommended.
Review 4:Would have liked a cooked breakfast rather than the continental apart from i was very happy
Review 5:A1 staff very friendly had a very nice sleep food was fantastic
Review 6:Very welcoming after a 3 1/2 hour ride from London. Good beer on draft and also just caught the kitchen before it closed for a lovely scampi and chips. Quiet and comfortable single chalet with a clean and tidy bathroom.
Review 7:bed was poor .this i think was due to the type of mattress also it said there was advd player in room but there wasnt and it said if you want one ask a member of staff
Review 8:location was good and it was quiet setting
Review 9:Roast potatos on buffet were overdone and not nice. Normal menu not available on Mondays if you don't like the buffet choices. Didn't have the continental breakfast.
Review 10:We were there on a Monday which had an eat all you can hot buffet for 9 pounds. (But normal menu not available).B+B rooms are separate from pub across the garden from the conservatory.
Review 11:The room was a bit cold, the radiators were not turned on The water pressure from the shower was very low
Review 12:Nicely decorated, very cosy Good size room
Review 13:This B&B was well located for where we wanted to be and provided good value accommodation. As a B&B we would have expected a cooked breakfast option to be available.
Review 14:no hot water... also didn't like just leaving key in room on departure. if anything were to go missing it would have been charged to my card. a hot breakfast would have been welcome
Review 15:food - fantastic, attention to detail in room with lovely little touches. nice beer garden
Review 16:Full English would have given an outstanding score, however continental brought to the room the night before was disappointing
Review 17:Very clean and well presented room
Review 18:Lovely room - more like staying with friends than a business. Continental breakfast delivered to room was more than adequate and the fruit was much appreciated.
Review 19:All good
Review 20:Very friendly staff , and I like the idea of the little individual bungalows , suited all my requirements only it was a little hard to find , but if I'd stuck to the motorway rather than the country route I would've got there a lot easier as I did on the way back . Would definitely use the babbling brook again
Review 21:could have done with a lovely cooked breakfast of the same standard as the eveniong meal
Review 22:the room was away from the pub so you couldnt hear anything from there
Review 23:I couldn't take my mum there with a wheelchair, although pavedwasn't particularly easy wheeling suitcases let alone a wheelchair.
Review 24:The food was amazing. Very comfortable. Decor lovely Lovely sizedbathroom. Staff friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Review 25:Bed was very small width wise, I think a small double would have been better for adults... not very good internet connection I had to sit in conservatory which was peaceful at the time of my stay.
Review 26:The location was lovely in the country and quiet for my studies, drive to Cannington only 5 minutes. Food was perfect and I am a fussy vegetarian. The best thing was the staff they were so friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Continental breakfast was delivered before bed on a tray and in a cooler just perfect for early morning departure. Garden was good and conservatory where I ate my evening meal was pretty, all areas are spotless. May use it for next two years University degree in Cannington, just one more to check out!
Review 27:Total lack of staffing levels until early evening. There is a dining area right in front of the rooms yet they do not provide breakfast except as a continental breakfast delivered the night before. I personally do not want a day old cold croissant however good everything else is. I would have been happy to have paid for a cooked breakfast or continental if freshly prepared but this is not an option which was disappointing.
Review 28:Very nicely appointed room, but if I had had breakfast there was nowhere to put it without moving mirror off the dressing table and sitting outside. Liked the garden and sat out with tea and cakes in the afternoon, which was a nice retreat from the rat race!
Review 29:Would have had a better night sleep if the beds didn't have plastic covers under the sheet. Also the duvet covers weren't too comfortable... Which is a shame because the rooms were lovely.
Review 30:Lovely host, the lights wouldn't work so the conservatory where we were eating was filled with candles. The beer when we got there was very welcome, thank you :0)
Review 31:The only breakfast available was a continental one which was left in our room the night before. Facilities in the room for eating were not ideal.
Review 32:Pleasant clean room, friendly staff
Review 33:Very clean well decorated room. Wonderful supply of hot water. Pleasant staff serving drinks in the pub - good prices for the drinks too. Good price for the room.
Review 34:No cooked breakfast available but the contentail offering looked very nice and people were able to eat in the garden. Was hidden away down country lanes so tricky to find but worth it
Review 35:Very relaxed and friendly welcome. Superb garden setting as rooms have their own doors leading into the garden very pretty. Nice conservatory funishing country style and quirky. Food good
Review 36:It was down a long deserted road. This was a bit unnerving for me- a lone traveller at night.
Review 37:It was very clean. Good reasonable price. Room was beautiful, very comfy bed. Nice clean shower.
Review 38:rooms very close to the garden (and smoking area) of the pub, which can mean too much noise in the evening
Review 39:very clean, very friendly staff. good breakfast delivered at the room.
Review 40:Choice of a cooked breakfast would be appreciated. Wine by the glass is limited. No WIFI in rooms.
Review 41:Changing menu. Quality of Beer. Staff. Location. Price.
Review 42:We did not have a long enough stay!
Review 43:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. From the initial phone booking to the end of the stay nothing was too much trouble. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. Warm, friendly, comfortable, great location, great food.
Review 44:Lack of mobile phone reception and no wifi. Adding wifi would make the lack of mobile reception less important, even if it was not a fast connection.
Review 45:Lovely peaceful environment.
Review 46:The location was quite rural so do your research if staying on holiday for local attractions etc but for our purpose of stay it was perfect.
Review 47:Very nice standard of accommodation for a very cheap price, we are a band who stay in a lot of cheap B&B's and this was of a very good standard for the money. The self contained rooms were perfect for our needs too. We didn't have the breakfast so unfortunately can't comment on it but the accommodation is right behind a pub which serves food that looked good.
Review 48:Wifi is only available in the pub. The only drawback as far as I am concerned.
Review 49:A little way out but not bad place to take a break. Lovely staff.. friendly and helpful when Wifi was acting up.

Review 105:nothing
Review 106:Piece and quiet warm welcome and great food
Review 107:The times were limited when everything was fully functional: breakfast came on a tray left overnight in the room. It needs to get wifi to allow contact with the world. You're lucky if you use the provider whose mobile phone signal is available.
Review 108:As a pub and restaurant, with a nice garden, it was very good. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It's off the beaten track in the country, so very peaceful.
Review 109:Breakfast is continental only (not inc. in price) + is delivered the night before so has to be eaten in your room. A bit grubby as access into room is directly from garden.
Review 110:Great food and drink in pub. Lovely area and friendly locals. Bedsit-type room in converted outhouse in the garden allows good privacy.
Review 111:Room was cheaply furnished and not very clean. Smelt of previous sweaty occupant. Breakfast choice is continental only, which was prepared the night before and left in the room, so warm milk and juice. Room does not have a table so difficult to have breakfast.
Review 112:Friendly staff and excellent food served in the adjacent pub which is owned by the same family. Good value for money, although a little out of the way.
Review 113:Bit miffed that because of circumstances i had to leave before sampling the bed..hopefully i will get another chance in the future..would definately book again,
Review 114:Great location..out of the way a bit but easily found using sat-nav, Met by a very pleasent lady who could not do enough to help, Room was spotless as were the buildings and facilities..obviously the owners take a pride in the place and it is a credit to them..diddnt sample the food sadly but i would have every confidence in the quality,
