Reviews for Latchmead Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:A very warm and friendly welcome when I arrived, excellent breakfast and, especially appreciated because many hotels do not have these, face flannels!
Review 2:Nothing to dislike
Review 3:A warm welcome from Paola sorted a table out for our evening meal at the George which is just down the Road. Excellent location you need to be aware of the planes but not a massive issue just bring earplugs if you are a light sleepeer. Lovely comfortable rooms from Bed to bathroom everything spot on. Good freshly cooked breakfast a definite must if you are in the area. Can't thank hour hosts Paola and Kevin enough for making our stay so pleasant. Would definitely recommend.
Review 4:Very welcoming and made very comfortable. Our room was in the barn annexe and was ideal with small garden area to relax in. Breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee ! This was our 2nd visit and will go again.
Review 5:Personal touch Lovely room Great shower Comfortable bed Very peaceful location Very nice breakfast prepared the night before as I was travelling early
Review 6:The room was excellent, a great big bed that was very comfortable. The bathroom facilities were great. Location although near to Stanstead airport and on the flight path. Did not in anyway detract from a great stay. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. Fantastic coffee
Review 7:Difficult to find in the dark and a very bumpy, unmade track to get to the house. On the flight path to Stansted so woken at 6.30am by the planes!
Review 8:Lovely rural location with beautiful views. Nice quiet room in a converted outbuilding. Very friendly couple and a super breakfast where we chatted with other guests.
Review 9:Would love it if it were dog friendly!
Review 10:Beautiful surroundings Large, comfortable bed & bedroom Extremely friendly staff Friendly atmosphere Very good value for money Tasty breakfast
Review 11:The beds (two twins pushed together to make a double) were extremely hard and uncomfortable. My husband could feel the springs through his mattress, although he's not a heavy man. We hardly slept a wink the three nights we were there. Beds would benefit from a thick mattress topper. Everything else about our stay was good, but it's sleep that matters most! We thought that the plane sounds might keep us awake but, because it was cool weather when we stayed, the glazing muffled the noise adequately.
Review 12:The room had a fridge, which was handy. Being located away from the main house. Quality of breakfast - very nice. Nice details to the room. Being able to choose to have continental breakfast in your room.
Review 13:So friendly and so accommodating. The pre prepared early departure breakfast pre prepared to have inside your room was a lovely touch. I had a winder fully comfortable nights sleep even in the midst of a thunderstorm!
Review 14:No complaint at all
Review 15:Location, friendliness, food, value

Review 27:The staff was extremly friendly. I even got a breakfast to my room cause I had to get up at 3am. The pub in walking distance has very good food.
Review 28:Could do with a bigger tv. That's it!!
Review 29:Stayed in room 7, good power shower. Great hostess. Good breakfast
Review 30:Everything. Paola puts herself out to make her guests welcome, comfortable and happy - that's why I stay there every time I fly out of Stansted.

Review 45:The family running Latchmead were friendly and very helpful. It just felt like living with them for a couple of days.... but not implying any interference or lack of privacy. Just great.
Review 46:There was nothing to not like.
Review 47:It was a beautiful setting, a very clean and comfortable room, the breakfast was lovely and I didn't miss not having a cooked breakfast as there was so much to choose from. I would definitely use it again and would recommend it to anyone travelling that way.
Review 48:It was a bit hard to find in the dark!
Review 49:Friendly and helpful staff and the beautiful surrounds. Nice touches like dressing gowns and the room was lovely. Breakfast was plentiful and our host kindly offered for us to package our leftovers up for lunch.
Review 50:I couldn't figure out how to make the water hot in the shower so I had to take cool shower - which was too chilly for me.
Review 51:The host was very kind and helpful. Continental breakfast was great! Convenient parking at the site.
Review 52:The room I was staying at had private bathroom but was not en-suite with the bathroom accessible via corridor only,
Review 53:Very good continental breakfast; proximity to Stansted Airport
Review 54:Having to leave!!!
Review 55:Paula is a great hostess, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us - lovely location down the bottom of a country lane, great breakfasts, either in your room or in the dining room of the main house - just fabulous
Review 56:There were only four minor things that could be improved:- No wifi in the rooms (barn annex) - Very small and old TV that made a loud humming noise when turned on - Plane noise - No mixed tap in the bathroom so water is either boiling hot or freezing cold
Review 57:Great location just 5 minutes from Bishops Stortford train station wheretrains to London Liverpool Street leave approx. Every 15 minutes.Really pretty farmhouse-style accommodation (main house) and cute barn annexes. The whole place has a tranquil feel about it and I immediately felt relaxed. The owners were lovely and made us feel at home straight away and even offered to bring breakfast to our room in the morning. The room itself was lovely, clean, comfortable with a good bed and nice bathroom with shower. All in all, I would definitely recommend the Latchmead and I'm sure I will stay there again in the future.
Review 58:Fantastic B&B, loved everything. Paola and her husband are lovely and couldn't do more for you. Very clean, all you could need for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful! Easy to find and not far from town centre at all.
Review 59:Absolutely nothing.
Review 60:Paola was absolutely amazing. A fabulous lady, very kind, very warm and very very helpful. She laid out a wonderful breakfast for us to have in our room as we were leaving so early in the morning, she lent me her wellies to go for a very muddy walk AND she totally helped us out by printing out our boarding cards that I´d managed to leave behind in Clacton!!! We would of been lost without her. She also recommend a lovely walk, a great pub to eat at & arranged our taxi for the morning. If I had a better voice I´d be singing her praises. The anex (is that the right name) was really cute, the bed was enormous and it was really comfortable, warm and cosy. Thanks a million Paula.
Review 61:The room was a bit cramped and would have been better if one table hadbeen removed and replaced by a bedside locker. Also there needs to be asmall shelf in the bathroom for toiletries etc. Also the curtain in thebathroom didn't fully cover the window area.
Review 62:The hostess was very friendly and it was spotlessly clean.
