Reviews for Silverglades Holiday Homes

Review 1:Didn't like the early departure time of 10. Especially after a full day with the children. It was a real rush to get packed and get children dressed and give everyone breakfast ready to leave

Review 2:Playing board games on the night we arrived was like the old days. A chatter in the warm little lounge with snacks before Sleeping was great. Didn't even need the TV and DVD. Great location for a 20 min drive up the mountain and by 10 am on the slopes playing in the snow with tiny tots. Great fun. Clean and tidy bungalow. Kitchen had all the bits you'd expect at home cutlery and crockery was clean and dishwasher worked well.

Review 3:Nothing!

Review 4:Great house - warm and welcoming with everything you need for a holiday - staff welcoming and very helpful - highly recommended - quiet location within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc

Review 5:The only thing I'd have to say is until you figure out how the hot water system works it's a nightmare. We spent the first few days only managing one shower before it went cold until they sent someone to explain how the booster worked. I think this should be included in the welcome pack.

Review 6:It was an amazing home with everything you need to feel comfortable, we were very luck to get an upgrade for free and the location was perfect for all that we wanted to do.

Review 7:Poor lighting in lounge. TV poor signal, needed retuning everyday, needs a booster. Would have liked an extra sofa rather than 2 chairs.

Review 8:The location was excellent with amazing views of the Cairngorm mountains, easy to walk into Aviemore. The Kitchen was excellent. Modern interiors. Excellent storage.

Review 9:There was no snow...so not the fault of anybody...will book here again...

Review 10:All good; ready to go on arrival. Easy to move in/out of. Parking alongside. Everything in place to either cook in or eat out (good proximity to local amenities)

Review 11:Instructions for the appliances weren't in the folder.

Review 12:The osprey accommodation was lovely and warm in the snowy December we visited. Plenty of space for the four of us. There is a supermarket and take away at the end of the road which was handy. I would happily stay again

Review 13:All the rules! Having an hour slot to pick up keys. Having to leave for 10am after emptying the bins etc Not enough fuel for the fire.

Review 14:Sauna / log burner Very clean

Review 15:My son loved his adventure away from home. He loved his en-suite bathroom and that we had a boys room and mum and sister had a girls room. Simple things can make a trip away. There is also a short walk down the back of the railway to the town centre. This is certainly quicker than the main road.

Review 16:Check in time and check out is beyong ridiculous! 4pm check in and 10am check out is awfull. We travelled on Friday 27th of November and checked in at 4pm. We had to leave at 10am on Sunday 29th of November. We basically lost a full day because of this and paid £200 for the weekend (not so weekend). There was dried up food on the bottom ledges of the cuboard door above our microwave (no it wasnt from the microwave). My son found a huge paper clip (thicker than the general ones from a store) with it unfolded slightly and straightened out at the end. Poker sharp and he was running around with it, thank lord I noticed as he's only 3!! He also picked up a screw from the floor that had fallen from the hinge on the bathroom door which had come off. Great thing was the door was repaired and apology given.

Review 17:Location great and bed comfy, generally good facilities.

Review 18:With the winter coming on, it would have been good if all the electric storage heaters had worked. Another bag of logs for the wood burning stoves would have been appreciated.

Review 19:The fact that you could book the property for a short break (2 nights). Staff were very helpful. Location was ideal.

Review 20:not a major complaint but check in and check out times were bizzare. Luckilly we arrived on a less busy day and were allowed to check in before the stated 16.00...

Review 21:spotlessly clean, well equipped, excellent location

Review 22:Storage heaters difficult to adjust as unfamiliar with them

Review 23:Location, facilities in bungalow, secure garden for dogs, parking in drive directly next to property

Review 24:My only issue was that we didn't have any hot water (apart from the shower) for the weekend but it didn't affect anything about the weekend.

Review 25:Everything about this place was fantastic! As soon as we stepped into the reception on the Friday night we got an amazing warm welcome and an amazing send off on the Sunday! Would defiently return

Review 26:Not a negative as such as it day say when booking but with older kids a reliable internet would be a bonus. Trying to do their homework when there was impossible

Review 27:Location to town, facilities parking

Review 28:Website referred to wifi but did say that it was intermittent. Our experience was that it was non existent. At no time were we able to access this for planning trips. It would have been better had we known.

Review 29:Location good, very quiet and warm. Bath as well as shower very welcome.

Review 30:Had ordered an early check-in which was confirmed via booking.com and told it would be free of charge, but when we got there was told that we couldn't check in early and if we could it would be £30. Was totally confused and unable to check in for 3hrs after we arrived. Luckily there is plenty to do in Aviemore. Make sure you contact the place first if you are trying to book early check-in.

Review 31:Very good, brilliant location and great views.

Review 32:There was nothing that we didn't like about it!

Review 33:From booking right through to checking out the staff were friendly and helpful. We have stayed at various locations in Aviemore and although all lovely were not as clean and tidy as here. It was immaculate! Location was also excellent! We will be back!

Review 34:We had a fantastic time at Silverglades and couldn't fault anything, the bungalow was excellent, spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were exceptionally helpful. There is a very good championship golf course practically on the doorstep and the town centre is within walking distance. We were a party of 8 and are all looking forward to going back again.

Review 35:The sofas in the lounge were slightly uncomfortable and the decor in general was dated, especially the kitchen and main bathroom.

Review 36:The cleanliness was very good, the bungalow was also very warm and cosy.

Review 37:Zero wireless internet connection which was very inconvenient.

Review 38:VERY comfortable beds, good short cut into the main events area of Aviemore. Clean bungalow and grassed area round the back.

Review 39:The fridge has a constant drone and a little frustrating when sleeping in living room as no door to keep noise out. Very limited internet also but this is common up north.

Review 40:Great house near to path that takes us to town centre, good size bathroom and kitchen. Well equipped kitchen.Didn't use garden but it was lovely and had great views.

Review 41:Whole home is clean and tidy just need only little more extra in kitchen like kitchen towels and in toilet ,toilet rolls.

Review 42:Easy excess and fully independent own drive feel like a home .

Review 43:We are in our sixties and like a nice quiet time away with our little dog. Silverglades just suits us perfectly. Nice and quiet and everything you need on your doorstep. Accommodation perfect for us too.

Review 44:Bright spacious rooms, well equipped with everything you need & entire property spotless. Stunning views from back garden! Excellent location & very friendly welcoming staff.

Review 45:Well equipped kitchen and laundry, made extended stay way more easy considering mix of adults and children in our party 4 adults 3 children. Staff were very helpful. Complex was well maintained. Sauna was great even if the weather was less than cooperative.

Review 46:no complaints at all, would use it again and recommend it.

Review 47:Good, clean chalet. Provided with starter pack including logs, well equipped kitchen and parking spaces, patio and back garden play area.

Review 48:Limited kitchen utensils and some pots and pans not clean on arrival. No hdmi on dvd player so poor picture on otherwise good Sky and TV combo.wifi very unstable!

Review 49:Ideal location and pleasant layout of the homes. Sufficient space for 4 adults and nice size kitchen. Ipod doc.

Review 50:Not much to complain about but a noisy freezer disturbed the sleep of the person on the sofa bed.

Review 51:Helpful staff at reception. Pleasant walk by footpath to town centre. We were a party of three adults and a one bedroom bungalow was more convenient and sociable than two hotel rooms.

Review 52:If they can the cottage contain washer and drier.

Review 53:This is first time for my family to visit this cottge its very big and comfortable and the location of this area near to lake district and blakpool & manshister .but the lake fornt to my cottage its not easy to walk around it .

Review 54:We booked a 6 bed house one of the beds was a bed settee not suitable for two older teenagers to share. Couldn't sit in the garden as next door had two dogs that constantly barked at us as soon as we went into the back garden. So couldn't use the barbie over the four days we stayed or sit out in peace in the garden to look at the Cairngorms.House Quite expensive for being 1 bed short and not being able to sit in rear garden.

Review 55:Location and clean house

Review 56:Upon arrival the bungalow was extremely clean and well maintained. When we went to bed we pulled back the top sheet from the bed to find a lot of dark hairs attached to the duvet cover we had to take this off and Hoover the bed before we could sleep.

Review 57:Bungalow was well equipped with everything you would need on a self catering basis. The bungalow was well situated, easy to find and within a short walking distance to the middle of aviemore.

Review 58:Need a towel hanger behind the toilet door. Oven door glass was dirty but everything else was excellent.

Review 59:Close to aviemore centre going out the back door.quiet well stocked kitchen

Review 60:The only thing which I whinge about is the lack of internet facility although we were said that the strength could be poor - We never saw the wireless hub mentioned in the range.

Review 61:The accomodation, staff, location everything was exceptional

Review 62:The accommodation was first class, there was 5 people in our group 3 adults 1x13years old(size of an adult) 1x 10 years. There was plenty of room for us. It was also well situated for walking into Aviemore 10minute walk

Review 63:Just thought ☺ Be nice to have kennel around, where you can leave your pet for couple hours till you go for dinner in town or over attractions where you'r pet can't join you

Review 64:Everything !!! Location, views independents, cottage back garden. ....... xxx

Review 65:Maybe having a car would have been an asset!

Review 66:Loved the peaceful surroundings with the views of the mountains. It was so relaxing. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 67:The cottage was perfect for our family visit. It was fairly close to Inverness and Loch Ness. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting in the backyard too. Wasn't expecting Wifi- a nice surprise.

Review 68:Only criticism would be that there are little maintenance issues, like lights not working and exterior décor needs attention....making it a good 3*....but not 4*. Nothing to make you complain though.

Review 69:Excellent location, in the village but hidden away in a quiet wooded estate. Julia was very helpful when I phoned to indicate we would arrive after reception had closed. The house was clean and cosy for us on arrival, and we all slept well on the first night because the beds were so comfortable. Brilliant base to come home and relax in after a hard day in the outdoors around Aviemore.

Review 70:lack of wifi coverage (which is mentioned on the website etc) but with technology the way it is these days, it could be improved especially as a lot of the restaurants had wifi, it doesnt appear impossible.

Review 71:we were a group of 14 with 4 bungalows. size of bungalows was great, location good for getting to nearby mountains/lochs/ walks... and great place also for restaurants/shops which were a short walk away. lovely view from the bungalows. everything worked and there was ample room for all of us. Vanessa in reception was brilliant, very helpful during the booking process and whilst we were there.

Review 72:Went into town for evening out , had to taxi back as was dark and short cut at back of estate has no street lights

Review 73:Well stocked flat also great scenery On your doorstep.

Review 74:location was great. Place was clean and tidy. kitchen was stocked with washing up liquid , dishwasher tabs etc which I did not expect. Shops were close by. Staff at silver glades Aviemore were absolutely lovely. Thank you Vanessa and Julia.

Review 75:Could have done with a drag swing and updating of the older apparatus, there was a play ground for the younger children.

Review 76:good accommodation the surroundings and lots to do, Caringorm mountain, loch morlich and glenmore forest.

Review 77:nice comfy bed, very clean house, full of facilities for self catering , very near to town centre where you can get all your needs. fantastic view at the foot of the mountain. the ski resort is only 30 min drive..... will come again.

Review 78:Loose window fastenings Showers: weak and temperamental

Review 79:Location is central Heating is powerful Dishwasher reliable Garden with gate is useful with young kids

Review 80:No door on the kitchen, we have a 1 year old so she kept heading straight for it! Also the garden has a steep little slope but again this is just as we have a young toddler. Can't fault anything else at all really.

Review 81:Lovely wee bungalow (no 184) with beautiful view of mountains, weren't really expecting the nice little garden and pub bench. Very well equipped kitchen and had a bath which is essential with young uns. Would be lovely in summer. Great quiet location but would be a longish walk into Aviemore if looking for any nightlife.

Review 82:There was four of us staying in a one bed bungalow, the living room sofa bed was a bit small (more like a big single)

Review 83:Location was lovely, not far from shops etc. Accomadation was clean and a good size. Table and chairs and bbq in back garden was lovely. Would defiantly come again.

Review 84:We stayed in 150 which was next to some on site storeroom, the handyman constantly parked in our car parking space in his van which was a nuisance.

Review 85:Location Cleanliness

Review 86:Bad reception for the wifi, strengh was weak and couldn't get connected.

Review 87:The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. They stay was great and amazing value for money. Had a great time and the house had everything we needed and had a lovely view of the mountins out the back.

Review 88:They told us the wifi was intermittent but it was non existent. Really need to get this sorted as people do expect this service to work is it is advertised.

Review 89:We liked the location of the lodges but if walking in to Aviemore take a torch as the path is not lit.

Review 90:A little more crockery (specifically some large bowls to eat cereal from). This is is a very minor point though, the rest of the kitchen was excellent, it was particularly good to have a proper kitchen including an oven, dishwasher etc.

Review 91:I'm almost tempted to give this accommodation a poor review to try to keep it all to myself. Great value for money and very comfortable.

Review 92:Great location, close enough to Aviemore centre, but in a quiet cul de sac that the children could safely enjoy. Lovely wee self-catered cottage with perfectly adequate facilities and the advantage of having a staffed reception nearby - not that we needed them after we collected the keys.

Review 93:Beds were a bit hard and pillows not very soft.

Review 94:There was a small coffee press. The flat was very clean and well equipped. Kitchen and bathrooms very modern. Took just over 10 min to walk to train station, large Tesco and central Avremor. Calm and quiet street.

Review 95:Only negative was not staying linger

Review 96:Great accomodation 2 Bed , 4star bungalow . Excellent facilities adequate for 2 Adults and 3 teenagers with 1 sleeping in sofa bed. Didn't spend much time actually in bungalow as skiing and then ate in village. Would definitely book again

Review 97:Slightly dated in places, walk into town very dark and isolated fine for group of lads, not ideal for young children or those who get worried in remote spots (bring a torch!) You may be able to walk other way through houses??

Review 98:Space in appt, lovely bedding, excellent reception staff who took time to look up weather report for ski area next day.

Review 99:The bathroom was dirty on arrival and the bedroom smelt of cigarettes. The value for money was not very good, as it was quite expensive to then purchase wood and all amenities on arrival as we were only there for the weekend. A nice touch would be for milk and tea bags to be there for arrival.

Review 100:The location, views and having your own space. The log fire was great, though wood was not provided. We had a really pleasant stay and the staff were friendly.

Review 101:It was quite draughty, and even with all windows and doors closed the curtains flapped in the draughts.

Review 102:Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location with easy access to Aviemore and walks by the river.

Review 103:Microwave did not work, repairman was not very helpful or knowledgeable but did agree to look into problem after our stay. Wifi did not work, but possibly a local issue.

Review 104:Really great location, newly decorated, warm comfortable, clean.

Review 105:We were using the sofa bed for the children to sleep on which was comfortable for them but I think next time I would go for a 2 bedroom property to give us more space. The noise from the fridge in the kitchen was a bit annoying as there was no door between kitchen and living room. I am told the fridges are due to be replaced so new ones will hopefully be quieter.

Review 106:A very comfortable, cosy house in a good location. It was an easy walk into the centre of Aviemore. Spotlessly clean.

Review 107:Silverglades have a discount scheme with some local businesses and could do with making it known before arrival. We could have benefited from this scheme but found out about it too late.

Review 108:Good value for money, very friendly staff, efficient check in and out process

Review 109:Hot water tank was not big enough for 5 people washing together.

Review 110:Great location near to town centre (short cut on country footpath) with amazing view of the Cairngorm Mountain.

Review 111:We stayed for 3 days in the smaller bungalow with lounge and kitchen. It was beautiful, clean and spacious. Re views were phenomenal and is a stones throw away from the town and skiing. Highly recommended

Review 112:The bungalow easily accommodated 2 adults and 3 16yr olds without us feeling on top of one another. Far better value for money than staying in a hotel if all you are looking for is a base

Review 113:Nothing

Review 114:The property was excellent, very clean, great size, exactly what we needed. Being self catering it gave us the flexibility and space we wouldn't have had in a hotel. It was also decorated well with the amenities of a high standard.

Review 115:Accommodation very clean staff very nice area kept to a good standard nice went when full of snow had a great time lovely area all round. Will be going back in the summer time.

Review 116:Nothing I did not like..

Review 117:Pet friendly with garden. Close to Dalfaber country club and leisure facilities. Within walking distance of all shops ,bars and hotels. Well equipped house .

Review 118:Check In is from 4pm which is too late since the office closes at 5 and the streets aren't numbered so finding the one that our accommodation was in took ages in the darkness and we kept going up the wrong street.

Review 119:Accommodation is fantastic, the house was perfect and ideally located.

Review 120:With the electric heaters the house could get too hot, but really just nitpicking as there are no real negatives.

Review 121:Everything about silverglades was great. Really easy to find, 5 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. House was clean, tidy and warm. Ideal size for family of 4. We all had a great stay.

Review 122:Bedroom carpet was dirty, smoke alarm had faulty or dud battery so had to take out to stop the beeping. No internet at all although they had promised intermittent.

Review 123:Kitchen, welcome box, well equipped

Review 124:The weather. As our bad luck would have it we were largely snowbound in Aviemore and all our plans for walking the dog in the surrounding forests were scuppered. If you book a place in Aviemore in mid December you takes your chances...............

Review 125:Really nice accommodation and friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Will definitely book again.

Review 126:Kitchen badly planned, oven behind kitchen door etc washing machine soooo noisy beds too narrow and short. One single bed mattress bumpy.

Review 127:The space in the house was good for the number of people. it was spotless. Easy walking distance to Aviemore general facilities excellent

Review 128:Kitchen utensils lacking, shower enclosures had mould and orange slime. So essentials such as salt & Pepper supplied, never seen this before in numerous holiday homes!

Review 129:Sauna comfortable beds huge living area

Review 130:Uncomfortable beds, pillows and duvets. Cheap, sweaty bulky and not in any way conducive to a good night's sleep. I'd only return if bringing my own bedding and a mattress topper. Dirt at bottom of shower window. Heating - difficult to get temperature right as you have no idea what temps. you're setting. Oven initially tricky to operate.

Review 131:Attractive interiors. Good location - quiet and peaceful.

Review 132:Like other have said, wifi was sometime in range, sometimes not. It would be nice to have it but certainly not a deal breaker.

Review 133:Very close to Aviemore - only 10 minutes walk. Handy for the cycle routes too. Accommodation in great condition, clean and has everything you need. Staff very friendly.

Review 134:Was a bit far for young children to walk into the main part of aviemore so we used the car, but over all we had a lovely time

Review 135:We loved the bungalow we stayed in, was clean, tidy, warm and modern. It was more than i expected.Aviemore is a lovely place. Went upto the cairn gorm mountain, even accessible with a pram :) would definitely go back and spend more time

Review 136:only 1 medium sofa, meant to seat 3 and two very upright chairs, could do with two sofas, especially as the house was advertised to sleep 6..

Review 137:very clean, comfortable and cosy.. beautiful scenery out of the windows, close to shops. kitchen very well equipped.. loved it
