Reviews for Cairngorm Guest House

Review 1:This hotel was spotless, bathroom had everything you needed as in shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. The room was lovely and spacious. We was made to feel really welcome. On arrival we was offered cakes.the breakfast had a really good variety and was delicious. I would rate this hotel more than a ten if I could it exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend this place to any travellers. We can't wait to return again in the summer.

Review 2:Breakfast slot was a little short, and finished a little early for us.

Review 4:Early breakfasts? :)

Review 5:We were warmly welcomed on arrival and surprised with a lovely slice of cake. Owners couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable.

Review 6:Nothing.

Review 7:Very welcoming owners and staff. We appreciated the advice on where to eat, the use of a drying room as we had been walking the Speyside Way, and the option to have a "special" at breakfast that was different to what was generally on offer.

Review 8:Nothing !

Review 13:Stayed for two nights and had a lovely relaxing stay. We'll certainly return here and would highly recommend this venue should you wish to stay in Aviemore. It has friendly hosts who were keen to help you to make the most of your stay. Clean fresh décor throughout and in the morning you are treated to a lovely breakfast with 'special' options daily...delicious.

Review 14:Breakfast is set for 0745 - 0845 one sitting only far too early when you are on a break and trying to catch a long lie

Review 15:Nice and central in Aviemore staff were lively so friendly and helpful really nice breakfast porridge was amazing!!!

Review 16:Nothing negative to report

Review 17:The wonderful breakfasts - the lovely fruit salad; the locally sourced high quality ingredients. Very comfortable, peaceful room with excellent shower.

Review 18:Staff we're very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Have already placed an order from the local butcher who supplies the Cairngorm. Would thoroughly recommend this B&B

Review 19:The pillows were lumpy.

Review 20:Lovely staff, very interested in us, and helpful / knowledgeable about what to do in the area. Great breakfast. Useful to have a fridge in the lounge.

Review 21:Wifi was broken but just managed to kick in the morning we left. Wouldn't have been a problem except other connectivity in the area was poor.

Review 22:Location, friendly staff and breakfast. Cairngorm national park is amazing.

Review 23:Was a little bit expensive but it is the the holiday season and there was a music festival in town.

Review 24:Great location in aviemore, just a short walk into town.

Review 25:Very creaky bed initially must say first night was worst then got used to it.

Review 26:Friendly helpful staff.Went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed.Amazing breakfast.good facilities for walkers.

Review 27:Everything, close/short drive to all amenities, both Peter & Gayle were more than helpful, especially at breakfast( which was fantastic) discussing places to visit giving handing maps and explaining how to get to various locations. Wish we had stayed longer than two nights.

Review 28:food at breakfast lovely staff offering help/ suggestions to travellers re their day trips the fact there were travellers there who were return guests and had stayed there many times

Review 29:Friendly welcome from owners and a very nice atmosphere throughout. Very clean and well kept with a pleasant breakfast to see us off in the morning. Nice location for snowsports/mountain or hill walking etc.

Review 30:Showers definitely need updating, really time consuming trying to wash long thick hair on shower with poor power.

Review 31:People were great. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms very comfortable. Brilliant area.

Review 32:nothing

Review 33:Everything! We stayed with our four children in two rooms. Rooms were lovely - comfortable, clean, nicely made up, good toiletries. Breakfast was fantastic, and the owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming, taking time to chat with the children and breakfast and making us feel very at ease (not always the case when travelling with a large family)

Review 34:The staff and owners went out of their way to make you feel welcome and couldn't do enough to help you. Very clean room with all the things and more to make your stay enjoyable.

Review 35:My only minor negative point was that the breakfast service stopped a little early at 8.45am.

Review 36:The hotel was conveniently situated, warm and comfortable. The room and bathroom was very clean. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Review 37:The room smelt a little damp.

Review 38:We arrived early at 11am intending to drop our bags off however we got our keys straight away which was excellent. The room was perfect for what we needed- somewhere to sleep and shower and clean. The wifi connection was also decent. Breakfast was a definite winning point for this B&B as you could choose between porridge, a full cooked breakfast, cereal or the special of the day. Gail's compote was also available on the table with as much tea/coffee and toast as you wanted. Peter and Gail made us feel very welcome.

Review 39:Nothing to dislike.

Review 40:We got a spacious family room, clean, very quiet and nicely warm (you can control the heating level). Very comfortable beds, with extra pillows and bed cover. The room has bathroom with great shower, wardrobe, desk, chairs and shelf, kettle (they provided tea bags, coffee, chocolate powder and biscuits). Guest can use a fridge in the living room, and we can leave wet coats and shoes in the boiler room to dry overnight - very convenient. The breakfast is really good, with choices for vegetarians (like us). The property is in front of a bus stop to the Ski station and 10 minutes walk to the train station. Peter and Gail are great hosts - very helpful, always in good mood. We really appreciated our stay.

Review 41:Nothing to complain about.

Review 42:Guest House only a few minutes walk from the hub of Aviemore with eateries and lots of outdoor shops. Quiet once others had settled down and good breakfast.

Review 43:The only minor issue was the bed, which seemed to slope outwards on each side - not sure if the bed is just like this or wasn't assembled properly.

Review 44:This guest house was lovely and we were made to feel comfortable and at home. The breakfasts were great, with many options. Staff friendly. We would definitely stay again.

Review 45:Felt a bit like school children being told to go to our room at 10.30

Review 46:We had a back door which allowed us access to our room without having to go through the front of house. Made privacy good . Room off residents lounge which was closed at 10.30

Review 47:The owners were friendly and knew the area well. They made you feel very welcome and offer cake as soon as we arrived. The room was very comfortable and clean as was the ensuite.

Review 48:cairngorm guest house was asolutely all we could ask for, great situation, very friendly staff, clean, warm, great views of the mountains and delicious breakfast

Review 49:The only negative things is the thin walls, you could hear everything outside the room but it soon quieted down. It did not affect my sleep

Review 50:The experience was excellent. After a cold day outside we relaxed in a comfortable room, well heated with good facilities. The beds were very confortable and the entire room was spotless. In the morning the breakfast offered several options, the cooked breakfast was phenomenal, the best full Scottish breakfast I have ever had; nice fruits also available and porridge.

Review 51:The staff were all amazing very helpful. The guest house was very clean and great value for money! The breakfast choice was fantastic and very tasty to set you up for a big day in the mountains. We will definitely be staying again! Thanks for an amazing time!

Review 52:Most friendly and helpful hosts ( Gail and Peter). Clean, warm and comfortable and quiet room with all facilities of a 4★hotel. The house is within walking distance of town.

Review 53:Everything, good location, rooms lovely everything you need, staff very friendly and helpful, owners lovely, breakfast sets you up for the day, great value for money .

Review 54:Nothing important really; maybe sliding door of bathroom not the "classiest"

Review 55:Quality of breakfast;attentiveness of hosts; "homely atmosphere"

Review 56:Can't think of any.

Review 57:A nice buffet breakfast you were not hurried at all to finish. A lounge which was comfortably. The bathroom was very spacious the room we had.

Review 58:Would have liked the chance of a bath not just a shower in the room.

Review 59:Quiet and comfortable room with a pleasant breakfast area. Short walk to main centre of Aviemore

Review 60:Excellent hosts, great room facilities from toiletries to hot chocolate, superb breakfast and friendly advice. Perfect location for exploring the Highlands. We would highly recommend for any time of year.

Review 61:The room was small and claustrophobic. The decor was drab and did'nt match the standard displayed on the website. There was also a smell of dampness in the room.

Review 62:The conservatory/dining room was lovely as was the view of the Cairngorms. The breakfast was well cooked and a good choice available.

Review 63:The accommodation was really great, very clean and well set up. The room was warm with good facilities throughout. Breakfast was really good first class. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Review 64:one hiccup, our downstairs room had been double booked and we had to accept a 1st floor room. Unfortunately my wife has hip and heart problems - but we managed.

Review 65:The majority of things

Review 66:WiFi did not work in bedroom at all. Tv had no signal apart from BBC1, 2. So was hard to relax and watch telly after a busy day.

Review 67:Bed. Breakfast. Decor. Bed. View from bedroom. Warm Welcome. Advice/ideas for meals etc in the village. Home from Home!

Review 68:We found our stay to be very comfortable. If I have to comment on a negative then it would be that it is a little walk to restaurants and the station, esp if the weather is bad.

Review 69:Cleanliness of room and bathroom. Very tasty breakfast made to order in lovely breakfast room. Guest lounge that guests can use. Parking on property.

Review 70:Host was low profile, left us to be. Comfortable billet. Solid house so no nuisance noise. Yummy black pud. Hot plates for breakfast. Great tips for a walk and to try 'potting shed' for coffee.

Review 71:My family toured the Highlands recently, staying at a variety of hotels and B&B's and this one was my favorite, everything was perfect, the room, the location, the breakfast was the best we had. The owners were very friendly and helpful, it was a really enjoyable stay.

Review 72:Everything from the greeting, the beautiful breakfasts, good showers, great rooms, was fantastic. These people really know how to run a guest house.

Review 73:If I'm really picky the doors and handles make the corridors not so nice.

Review 74:Fantastic breakfast better than some 5* makes a good start to the day. Comfortable bed and quiet room with good view.

Review 75:no net curtain on window, only black out blind, when we asked about this, you get what you have paid for, because you booked thru booking . com!!

Review 76:loction

Review 77:Welcome on arrival was brusque- Dining room was poorly laid out leading to a bit of chaos at breakfast time. Very small room and bathroom. Very expensive for what it was.

Review 78:The proprietor's wife was very helpful and friendly offering interesting interesting things to visit whilst in the area. .

Review 79:Fantastic rooms, really comfortable beds and a tasty breakfast. The courtesy and attention to detail of the staff was impeccable. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 80:Reception hall was gloomy, corridors were shabby - all in need of redecoration in more cheerful colours. Our room was small, basic, and shabby. The bathroom has a tiny hand sink, and shower cubicle so so small we were squashed against the glass.

Review 81:Excellent breakfast in lovely sunny dining room with friendly and efficient staff. Free and reliable wifi.

Review 82:It was probably the warmest day of the year for Aviemore when we stayed and the room had poor ventilation and not able to open all windows.

Review 83:Text from owner asking when to expect us arriving I liked that.

Review 84:Wonderful staff and full breakfast; cozy clean room with good hot water in the shower; very helpful hostess (lending maps, USB cables, directions to hardware store, activities).

Review 85:The rooms are a little on the small side. Quite expensive for a guest house.

Review 86:The full Scottish breakfast was excellent. As was the hospitaltiy shown by the staff at Cairngorm Guest House. Very friendly and interested in what we had been doing each day.

Review 87:Any issues we had where quickly resolved by the Gail and peter so i've no issues!

Review 88:The breakfast was really tastey and there was a wide range of things to choose from. The room was great, everything we needed in there including things like a hairdryer which we had forgotten. Good shower and lovely bathroom. The staff where helpful and friendly and the locations was mint!

Review 89:Tiny wash-hand basin in the ensuite facilities.

Review 90:The warm welcome and the helpful staff were much apprecdiated. The breakfast was really excellent - fresh fruit salad really was a mixture of fresh seasonal fruit and the cooked breakfast was exactly as requested.

Review 91:I think the cost for a single traveller is too great. I noticed mostly couples staying. Normally I would not pay this price

Review 92:Breakfast. In winter the drying room would be very useful.

Review 93:No one told me how nice it would be. I would have spent more time there.

Review 94:Aviemore and the guest house are awesome. I would live there if I could afford to! Excellent staff, wonderful food, wonderful hospitality.
