Reviews for Alma House B&B
Review 1:Only two parking spaces on driveway so had to be up by 8 to buy parking ticket if on road outside.
Review 2:The room and location. The walk into Windsor is great from here as Peascod street is so vibrant. The table in room is good for afternoon tea when returning from Windsor adventures.
Review 3:Booked with full English breakfast but only in-room continental was available. To be fair this was stated in the booking confirmation. Parking is available but don't count on it.
Review 4:Windsor is lovely, location of Alma is 5 minutes from the centre, 10 minutes from castle. Good information about local eateries.
Review 5:Excellent room, bathroom and breakfast. Very good location and 2 minutes walk into town. Staff were very accommodating and suggested good places to go to eat.
Review 6:Minor thing: tv bracket was immediately above recess with kettle, etc, which meant had to duck when getting a drink to avoid hitting head!
Review 7:Pleasant welcome, comfort, cleanliness and facilities. Will definitely stay again.
Review 8:Confusion over whether parking was free and off road or not.
Review 9:Grand bedroom with really high ceilings and king sized bed furnished to a high standard. Impressive bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower
Review 10:A superb location, a few minutes walk from the town centre, with off street parking. The rooms have fresh, modern decor & are immaculately clean. Everything for a good DIY breakfast is thoughtfully provided in the attractive kitchen/diner. Excellent value for money
Review 11:Not applicable
Review 12:Boutiquey room, immaculate with spacious well appointed bathroom next door. Helpful, friendly staff. Good variety of breakfast items, not cooked. 10 minutes walk to town for fab shopping, and tourist attractions : castle, Thames river. On site parking ?
Review 13:Bit difficult to park on the narrow drive.
Review 14:rooms and bathrooms decorated to a high standard; staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent in-room facilities.
Review 15:Such a tasteful and very luxurious furnishings, very well thought out interior. I had the best time and rest ever in Windsor! 15 min walk to the castle, it is amazing place!
Review 16:There was nothing i didnt like. Everything was great.
Review 17:Was a cute room. Very warm and comfortable. Was i. A quiet road but only a 5 minute walk from the center. Was lovely.
Review 18:After using the shower the bathroom had a funny smell but it didn't affect our stay in the slightest.
Review 19:It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the town centre. The bedroom was very cosy and the bed was comfortable.
Review 20:Very clean, liked the breakfast bar, the bottle of wine was a very nice touch. Close to the castle and shopping area, Whitch made it all a very enjoyable break.
Review 21:No hairdryer owner had to go and buy one. No map owner when asked managed to find one Not really a B and B. Breakfast available for us to make ourselves. We have stayed in many B and Bs in England. This was the first time we did not get a cooked breakfast which was disappointment
Review 22:Comfortable bed
Review 23:Lack of a shelf for a toilet kit and minimal space for hanging towels and clothes while using the bathroom. The cafetiere is our room was lacking a nut on the plunger which made it difficult to use properly.
Review 24:Convenience, cleanliness and value. The do-it-yourself breakfast was adequate and convenient for an early departure but it's not sumptuous. We were fortunate to land one of the driveway parking spots.
Review 25:Early check out wasn't ideal but I called and extended my check out time with no hassle at all
Review 26:Great location and good facilities in room. I would definitely stay here again
Review 27:Just the doors made quite a bit noise while closing, but apart from that, all is well!
Review 28:Good location. Great dinning room. Nice environment. Very nice and welcoming staff. The self chek-in was also easy to complete. Both my friend and I found this to be our favourite place to stay during our 2-week travel.
Review 29:There was only one tiny point that I would make, and that would be that there were no ordinary teabags in the room, although there was coffee, hot chocolate, sparkling water, green tea and herbal tea. It might have been an oversight, so not worth worrying over - I expect the staff might have brought me some if I had arrived early enough to ask them.
Review 30:The accommodation was very comfortable and clean, and the location was ideal. We didn't meet the staff except upon checking out, but that was because we arrived late - the key was left for us as we were in the separate garden cottage. The table in the room was laid out for breakfast, which gave a welcoming feeling. My children thought it was lovely.
Review 31:We arrived much later than expected and had to phone to be let in. Ivan came to let us in and was really pleasant and helpful even though it was midnight
Review 32:Didnt get any shampoo, just two bottles of conditioner? & no bubbles for amazing bath.
Review 33:Room was lovely, bathroom though seperate was large with amazing bath & shower.
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:Fabulous furnishings and facilities. Relaxed self catering breakfast in wonderful surroundings. Location and parking great. Welcoming ,helpful staff.
Review 36:I would have preferred an ensuite bathroom.
Review 37:Lovely room with comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, very easy to walk to castle.
Review 38:Room crowded when trickle bed pulled out. No space to move. No room to pull out table to seat 4 so had to eat in shifts. Small double bed. Really not big enough for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. With a bigger bed and no other beds would be ideal for a couple. Shower door leaked so had to mop up water when children used it. Adults could point shower away from door to avoid this.
Review 39:Very helpful staff and room very clean. Plenty of food for breakfast.
Review 40:The bathroom is next to your room which was a lovely large bathroom you just need to be aware you might pass people going into the other bathroom
Review 41:The rooms were large and comfortable. Tea coffee water provided in the room but you could always go into the kitchen and make drinks and if you wanted something to eat. Recommend it
Review 42:Room was warm, comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. We stayed in the cottage, which is separate from the main house. Breakfast was great and it was very relaxing having it in the cottage. LEGOLAND is 10 minutes drive away, which was very handy. Town centre is a short drive away too.
Review 43:I liked the single room and facilities. It was satisfying for my short stay. Don't expect luxury: the room and breakfast -not cooked- are basic but it comes with a bath which is a big plus for a single room. The house is located close to the centre, the place is clean and quiet enough and the staff friendly. The checking in & out process was straightforward and smoothly. If I need to be in Windsor again for a short stay I will consider Alma House again.
Review 44:single room was VERY small, bed too soft, parking very difficult, breakfast advertised but amiunted toa DIY continental in the room
Review 45:Adequate for one night, just!
Review 46:It took us ages to find somewhere to park and then after dragging our bags along the road we then spent ages knocking at the door and calling the intercom. Finally we had to call the number printed on the door. The lady I spoke to on the phone made me feel as though I was a pain to disturb her and i felt as though she was doing me a favour by getting someone (not on site) to come and let us in the building. I had booked 2 of the last remaining rooms 1 double and 1 single. apart from a very small double bed the other room was fairly nice to be honest whereas the single room was absolutely dreadful and was the size of a cupboard. On top of that it had a fridge in it where the below standard breakfast was kept! So on top of feeling as though I was sleeping in the basement toilet I also had a grubby looking fridge at the end of my bed with bread and milk left in a Tupperware container for the following morning breakfast! I would have complained immediately but no one was around to complain to. After a very uncomfortable nights sleep in a bed only big enough for a child I woke early to the sound of the people in the room next door very quietly chatting to each other and then having a shower and it felt as though they were in the room with me through the extreamly thin studded wall. When I wanted to check out (at 10am the time stated we had to be out by), a repeat of the eve before's fiasco went on before finally I had to again use my mobile to call someone to let me in to pay my bill. To be fair the lady who finally came was very apologetic and wasn't anywhere near as rude to me as the lady on the phone from the office was and she handled the furious customer situation pretty well. so in summary I would NOT recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and not just because I had a bad room but also because I think you could find way better hotels and service elsewhere in the area.
Review 47:The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that they need to either build a new wall or knock out a door that goes directly from the bedroom to the bathroom so you don’t have to go into the public hall to get to your on suite.
Review 48:It was immaculately clean, spacious, with tasteful furnishing, really reasonably priced, and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve encountered in a B&B. It was almost in the centre of town so great for walking.
Review 49:Parking isn't ideal here because the cars stack 4 deep. We ended up parking on the street and paying the meter. Not a big deal as it was 70 pence for 2 hours and it is free during the night.
Review 50:We stayed in the garden cottage and it was perfect for a family with small children. The continental style breakfast was well stocked and fresh. We would definitely return.
Review 51:The location is a short walk from the main areas. The property itself is a lovely historic house with large rooms and excellent facilities. Checkout was very relaxed and the whole stay was exceptional.
Review 52:We briefly parked our car on the drive to unload my wife's bags on return it was blocked in by a guest difficult to find him or get any assistance from Alma House who were totally unhelpful.
Review 53:Well decorated bedroom
Review 54:From a business point of view, I didn't like that I couldn't get a VAT receipt, because I would obviously be able to claim it back. However, it's not a deal breaker and I shall be staying here again :)
Review 55:This is a really lovely place with a very homely feel to it. It's in a great location, so we walked into the centre to get lunch and dinner. I forgot my key when we went out, but the man who signed us in happily came across and let me in with the spare key with no fuss.
Review 56:Little attention to detail such as ensuring spare toilet roll and 2 cups on bedroom tray. Leave bedroom for private bathroom.
Review 57:Size of room and bathroom. Convenience to Windsor centre.
Review 58:There was no one on site to let us in when we arrived contrary to the information we had been sent in advance. We had to phone and someone came from another site to check us in. On checkout, the lady who took our money made no effort to find out if we had enjoyed our stay
Review 59:Breakfast items were in room on our arrival in fridge and kitchenette area. Plenty of food for us and a good variety.
Review 60:Only complaint was being woken by the alarm going off at 6.30 thereby disrupting peaceful sleep and leaving one tired throughout the day.The alarm needs to be checked when servicing the room.
Review 61:A clean and comfortable room. Very good filter coffee for guests to make themselves. Easy walk to town.
Review 62:The shower, it was impossible to get a right temperature.
Review 63:Staff so helpful
Review 64:Very friendly staff Great location handy to city centre Fabulous bathroom!

Review 72:Wonderful little place in a great location
Review 73:Parking facilities are poor
Review 74:Conveniently located close to the river Thames and Windsor castle
Review 75:Had to hunt down someone to pay on leaving.
Review 76:Beautiful decor.
Review 77:High standard decor; excellent cleanliness and THE most comfortable bed
Review 78:It was lovely, only problem was the planes of course! Ivan was so helpful and accommodating, a true gentleman
Review 79:Parking was along a single driveway which meant some shifting around to accommodate needs. It was very tight.
Review 80:Location was very close to city centre.
Review 81:Spacious room, comfortable bed, mini-fridge provided and great bathroom.
Review 82:Spotlessly clean. Luxury shower room. Great breakfast. Large spacious room tastefully furnished. Free wifi.
