Reviews for Rockmount

Review 1:It would be even better if breakfast times were later as they finish at 9. You could hear the showers from the other rooms in the morning.

Review 2:Very friendly owner, lovely friendly welcome. Rooms are really nice, comfortable and great facilities

Review 3:Our second stay at Rockmount and pleased to report that the welcome and service from Tony and the quality of the decor and stay are every bit as good as we remembered. Highly recommended!

Review 4:Hard to fault.

Review 5:Great location. Five star facilities. Love the new breakfast room and facilities / choices. Still one of the best guest houses I have stayed in.

Review 6:Nothing! The place is amazing!

Review 7:Everything! Tony (the owner) is a truly wonderful host and his guesthouse is the best place I have stayed for a long time ...including the major chains. New, modern, fresh, every little detail has been catered for and I will definately visit again!

Review 8:Pleasantly surprised by this beautiful little gem. Great location close to all the shops, bars and market, pretty outdoor areas to enjoy the sun, spacious, modern and clean :)

Review 9:We do not want to be picky but we do want good value for our money. We stayed three nights but really wanted to leave as soon as we took a closer look at the room. Especially because of the mildew on the window behind the bed. We decided to make the best of it but if you consider the small room, the broken tiles in the bathroom, the leaking dispenser in the shower, no dressing and also a breakfast that is no breakfast. Ad the "lovely view over tavistock" and i can assure you that we will not returne to this B&B. There is no info about what to see or to do in the area. It is not possible to sit in a comfortably way because there is not a chair in the room and no salon in the B&B. The B&B supposed to be situated in the middle of the national park Dartmoor, we now know better. One more issue, when we wanted to pay Tony, the manager, told us that he already took the money of our creditcard without asking if we may have wanted to pay in any other way. I now know he already took the money a week before we arrived in the B&B. I find this a strange way to handle.

Review 10:The location near the city center is easy if you want to visit the city. There are some good restaurants.

Review 11:Loved it - nothing we didn't like!

Review 12:Fabulous place to stay when visiting Devon! Great value for money, and Tony the owner always on hand - nothing too much trouble. Rooms are luxurious and fully equipped

Review 13:Great central location, pleasant contemporary room, high standard decor. Yummy breakfast & wonderful host. Modern stay in an historic town - fabulous.

Review 14:The breakfast was an added cost - which is strange if you pay for Bed & BREAKFAST. The continental selection was small & poor - the cooked breakfast looked good however .... At the added cost

Review 15:The host Tony was superb The property interior & finishing touches lovely

Review 16:Nothing!

Review 17:Only stayed for a couple of nights but would have loved to stay longer. We had the superior king room and it certainly was! Attention to detail was superb. Definitely a 5 star stay. Excellent host, couldn't do enough to make us welcome.

Review 18:from start to leaving we were superbly looked after.even without a discerning eye it can be seen that that the visitor comes first and every need is taken care off.thanks to tony , we could not have wished for a better environement.well done.

Review 19:Such a welcoming atmosphere and the bedroom was beautiful with all modern facilities the was huge and so comfy. following a long journey I felt relaxed and the breakfast was great.

Review 20:Did take me forever to find, but my direction skills aren't great.

Review 21:Lovely staff, very helpful plenty of restaurants about and easy to walk too. Bedroom was lovely, very comfy bed and Netflix on the tv which was very handy.

Review 22:None

Review 23:Great starting place , and a few steps to the beautiful town , and lovely welcoming towns people , Tavy is so worth a visit , and added to that you are made to feel so comfortable at the Rockmount , and compared to other places the standards are very high .

Review 24:Kitchen tap doesnt overhang sink enough and splashes. Very little hanging for clothes, not long enough for a dress.

Review 25:Decor and appointments of the apartment. Pleasant balcony. Privacy. Quiet. Convenience to Tavistock shopping. Free car parking. Friendly, welcoming owner.

Review 26:We thought that in the price we paid, a Continental Breakfast would be included, but upon arrival at hotel the owner said there was a charge of £4.00 for breakfast, and that is not what was stated in the advertisement on the Internet. We therefore had to go out for our breakfast every day, and found a restaurant that did a full english breakfast for only £4.25 so we felt the owner was overcharging!

Review 27:Being in the heart of Tavistock was superb, and almost next door to our Inlaws who live in a small flat in Abbey Court. We also liked the Robe and Slippers and liquid soaps and shampoos all included in the room!

Review 28:Nothing, we should have stayed a week, the Rockmount is an ideal base for touring both Cornwall and Devon.

Review 29:Thank you Tony for a most delightful 4 night stay. Every possible consideration was made to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. The location is just a short block from terrific restaurants, shopping or anything required. A modern and extremely tastefully decorated room (#1) with every possible amenity. Tony even brings breakfast to your room at your desired time. We can't thank Tony enough for extending our stay. We'll be back in September. A very professionally run establishment.

Review 30:The welcome was warm even though we were a bit later arriving and a table booked for us at a local restaurant which considered our veggie and wheat free needs. It was a great, central location and had everything we needed, including a great wifi signal which seems to be a rare thing in hotels and b&b's. I couldn't think of anything that had been missed, even to our bottle of bubbly being chilled for us and then glasses being provided without us asking. To my mind it was service above and beyond. I would not hesitate to tell anyone to use The Rockmount. Just superb.

Review 31:I had a beautiful room with loads of designer fittings, a coffee machine and complimentary bottle of water. A bath robe and slippers were thrown in as well. What's not to like.

Review 32:Liked pretty much everything,Apart from the check in desk which closes at 6pm and we arrived at about 9pm.However,Who needs a Human this days when you can get in with a code.Lol!The owner communicated with us before we arrived and sent us the code etc to get in.Brilliant

Review 33:Liked the Cleanliness and comfort of the room,Very relaxing and the town had a few markets and shops,Which is good.

Review 34:The shower could have been warmer and there was no wifi. But that did not hinder our stay. We had a great time.

Review 35:we really enjoyed our stay at Rockmount, it was well presented, clean and very comfortable.

Review 36:There is nothing not to like in this B&B!

Review 37:The Rockmount is everything you could ever want when staying at a bed and breakfast accommodation. Tony has built the house to immaculate taste and the fixtures and fitting as what you would expect in a modern show home. The breakfast in you room service just spoiled us completely! I will definitely stay again over and over! Thank you Tony!

Review 38:hard to fill kettle up in the bathroom sink!

Review 39:tony very nice chap wanted the best experience for us and we got it. the boiler broke down but he toiled all night to fix it to make sure we were comfortable . the room well appointed and great ensuite .lots of light not dingy .tony helpful on where to eat anddrink

Review 40:Friendly and welcoming Host, who bothered to telephone me when we were a bit late and guide me to the destination. Room cleanliness and decor very pleasing with every requirement considered and provided, especially a bottle of drinking water! Bathroom hygienically clean and modern. Breakfast, again excellent hot and served in room. Linen white, and fresh, nothing to dislike or complain about. Can't wait for my next visit.

Review 41:Only that the window lock wasn't easy to open or close - perseverance was required.

Review 42:I liked the fact that breakfast was served in our rooms, that the bath towels fitted around the larger body and that everything that needed to be provided was.

Review 43:What was there to dislike? Nothing

Review 44:Host was excellent. Very warm and chatty without being intrusive. I was made to feel like a valued guest and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast... I recommend the spiced pumpkin yoghurt. Will definitely stay again

Review 45:Stayed here about 3 years ago, the rooms - although lovely - are starting to look a bit jaded :( Also, for the price would've expected it to include breakfast. However, none of this detracts from the location and comfort :)

Review 46:The bed, the size of room 2, the dressing room....all in all a lovely stay.

Review 47:I would have to be very picky to fault anything.

Review 48:The privacy and the enclosed garden space to let the dog roam. The facilities in the flat where excellent.

Review 49:Could do with a mirror near plug sockets for those of us drying/styling long hair.

Review 52:Every thing was perfect tony the host has thought of everything to make our stay just peachy, loved every moment, could have stayed longer.

Review 53:What's not to like about Rockmount - nothing!

Review 54:A really comfortable room at the top of the house with two sided views across the town and surrounding countryside. Would have been very happy to spend more than the one night. Great breakfast.

Review 55:the weather was bad is my only complaint and there was not a lot that the Rockmount could do about that.

Review 56:Attention to detail. fantastic decor and bathroom. a bathrobe and slippers all ready for you. a coffee machine as well as a kettle. bluetooth speakers for your phone. the list goes on. the sheets were crisp and whiter than white. there was nothing not to like.

Review 57:The shower was a little bit cold but I'm not sure if this was because other guests were showering at the same time.

Review 58:Furnished to a standard I expect from a boutique hotel. Breakfast served in bedroom. On-site parking.

Review 59:There was no air con or fan in the room and while it was a lovely sunny room it did get very hot, especailly in the day and we slept with the windows open at night.

Review 60:Great location in Tavistock, just off the town centre. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The bedroom and shower room were both very clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. It was a lovely sunny room and we had use of the garden.
