Review 2:We stayed here on the 29th December, we were shocked to realise we were the only ones booked in for that night. We were meet with such a warm welcome and a tour of the area. Everything about our stay was so lovely and I can't fault anything. Thank you so much, can't wait to come back!
Review 3:There was nothing at all to dislike.
Review 4:Perfect in every respect. Charming hosts. Very comfortable room. Generously stocked self-service kitchen. Cheerful, interesting and imaginative decor - individual, nothing bland or 'corporate'. And even non-petrol heads could not fail to be charmed by the Morgans in the showroom - access 24/7 - downstairs!
Review 5:Need to prepare own breakfast as no service provided but plenty of ingredients supplied.
Review 6:Very clean everywhere and well coordinated art-deco furnishings plus memorabilia of Morgan cars.
Review 7:Hard to pick any faults, maybe the central heating was a wee bit to warm but that was easy to just turn down. A truly enjoyable place to stay.
Review 8:Melvin was friendly helpful and privacy totally respected. Awesome place to visit & really enjoyed the collection of Morgan Cars.
Review 9:We would have loved some background music at breakfast- a jukebox in the diner perhaps!!!
Review 10:The Pitstop is unique, quirky, interesting & beautifully thought out and kept
Review 11:We hadn't realised the 7pm. deadline for checking in but, Melvyn did not dwell on that and was extremely welcoming. We happened to be the only couple staying that night and so he took the time to show us the 3 rooms. All had individual Art deco themes and it was remarkable to see the painstaking lengths he and his wife Sindy, had taken to add that, 'touch of magic' to each room.
Review 12:My room 'Auto', though full of lovely touches, was a little pokey in comparison to the other rooms. Very nice bathroom though. A shame that the pinball machine in the Diner wasn't useable.
Review 13:Unique Morgan car themed accommodation. The serve yourself Diner is immaculately presented. Plenty to see and look at. Fantastic atmosphere. Would be heaven for a Morgan car fan or any classic car fan.
Review 14:Unique, stylish B&B with friendly owners. The "diner" (where you made your own breakfast) was lovely and the fridge, freezer and cupboards very well stocked.
Review 15:Spotlessly clean within an an enjoyably unique surrounding. The whole experience surpassed our expectations try it for yourselves you will not be disappointed. The attention to detail is faultless and the whole place is clearly the result of a dedicated labour of love
Review 16:absolutely everything and Melvyn and Sindy were superb hosts. We enjoyed every minute of our stay especially the trip out in the three wheeler Morgan.
Review 17:Having to leaving so soon.
Review 18:Amazing place really enjoyed my stay made even work more pleasurable. Would recommend to anyone. I would travel away just to stay there. The cars are stunning.
Review 19:Completely surprised to find such a real gem. A breath of fresh air when compared to other hotels and an unbelievable retro feel with beautiful Morgan cars to complete the theme.
Review 20:Only minor gripe was that hot water had run out for a shower for 1 / 2 guests who got up later than others.Otherwise this would have been a perfect 10.
Review 21:Great welcome from owner, who is a mine of information re history behind this unique accomodation and Morgan cars. High standards in rooms with Art Deco styling, and U.S. diner styled dining room.
Review 22:Simple, efficient booking process, exuberant welcome, sparklingly clean room, comfortable bed. Comprehensive DIY breakfast, kitchen available 24 hours for late arrivals / early departures, easy free parking. Even help on site when I had a minor car problem (not with a Morgan I hasten to add).
Review 23:Room got a bit hot at night. Room had no windows, only a skylight, which had to remain shut as it was raining. No aircon.
Review 24:Nice atmosphere, friendly host, help yourself kitchen. Comfortable bed.
Review 25:Missed having breakfast cooked for me which is what you would generally expect in a hotel. Was aware of this at the time of booking but having experienced it would not go for this option in the future. Would still recommend to others.
Review 26:The room and hotel were lovely, very well run and clean and tidy.
Review 27:Nothing.
Review 28:Friendly and welcoming. Beautifully quirky and interesting. Comfortable beds. Relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and fresh. Will definitely return.
Review 29:What a great place, from the moment we spoke to Melvyn on the phone we knew we were in good hands. On arrival we had a comprehensive show round of this unique and delightful property. The rooms are finished to the highest standard and the beds are as comfortable a sleep you will find anywhere. Breakfast in your own American diner is both different and delightful. All in all a very very good stay if you fond yourself in this part of the world.
Review 30:Nothing
Review 31:From the beginning to the end spot on , Melvin, Cindy the owners lovely people with passion towards every detail to make customers feel like home, rooms are exceptional clean ... My top was the kitchen we could stay there and cook talk having really great time we will be back 100%
Review 32:The whole place is obviously a labour of love and the unique designs of the bedrooms as well as the American Diner enhanced an already pleasant experience greatly We got a very warm greeting from the owners and one felt both welcome and at home. We both agreed that we would stay here again if we needed a room in this area.
Review 33:We were going to a festival in the area and the pit stop was great and relaxed, a DIY breakfast whenever you want it. Very friendly and helpful hosts.
Review 34:The room was very hot. Very good fan on the ceiling but had to have it on all night. Note: my stay was in July! Self service in the morning is interesting but also a little awkward as you have to try to remember where everything is from the instructions given the night before! Only small points as this is a great stay and highly recommended.
Review 35:Excellent facilities, welcome and location. Melvyn kindly dropped me at a local pub for dinner (also very good). Breakfast is self-service and dramatic as its set in a diner that is truly wonderful to look at. My room was also excellently appointed and very clean.
Review 36:Absolutely amazing! Beautifully finished and attention to detail is second to none. Perfect! Stayed in four poster room and will go back soon. So nice having use of the fantastic 50s style kitchen and I loved the informal approach; so much better than a starchy hotel that says 'oh breakfast ends at 9:30!'. You must stay here!!! It's simply great and truly deserves a 10!!!! x
Review 37:The fact I cant live here all the time!!!
Review 38:The stay was amazing from start to finish. The rooms are outstanding and the owner could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.
Review 39:I love cars, so when I pulled up outside the hotel and found a collection of beautiful Morgan classics I was instantly happy. I was then met by a warm welcome from one of the owners of the hotel, a true gent, friendly polite and welcoming. The room was exactly as I imagined, spotless and the edwardian decor was beautiful. We also were blown away by the attention to detail, the Person touches and the impressive American diner themed kitchen.
Review 40:Absolutely nothing to dislike at all !
Review 41:Melvyn is a great host and made us feel very welcome - he's a mine of information and every detail had an intersting story, even the radiators! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable; the Amercian Diner kitchen was superb and extremely well-stocked for breakfast. We enjoyed the attention to detail and the freedom to roam the showroom downstairs - all in all, it was a unexpected treat.
Review 42:Only thing would be that maybe a woman on her own may feel a bit intimidated to stay there on her own as there are only 4 rooms and only guests stay in the house. However it felt totally safe
Review 43:The style and furniture Cleaningness Friendly owners Relaxed open kitchen with snacks/drinks available 24 hrs Can have breakfast even if leaving early in the morning Amazing comfortable bed and luxury bathrooms Wi-fi worked perfectly and was able to work in the kitchen with colleague
Review 44:NONE
Review 45:I was going to arrive slightly late, so I phoned ahead, it quickly became apparent that the Pitstop was so customer friendly and nothing was going to cause an issue. The place is a picture and everything you need is catered for.
Review 46:A dream for a "car-guy" with exquisit room & dining facilities and attention to detail that we both loved! Many thanks to Melvin for everything - a fantasic host - we had a great time. Not just a place to stay - a destination in its own right.
Review 47:Disappointed I could not drive the Morgan as I'm only 4ft. 10'' and couldn't reach the pedals but not the owners fault. He did all he could to help. My husband kindly took me out instead.
Review 48:Great cars, friendly service and fun, comfortable accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who were clearly very busy with their Morgan business. Loved hiring a Morgan for the day, a dream come true for me.
Review 49:One minor criticism - would have liked a Nespresso machine to be available in the kitchen.
Review 50:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and the diy breakfast was fantastic - this is a really good idea.
Review 51:Fantastic place with a very interesting owner .. Men like him put the Great in Great Britain. You can keep Raddison Blu at the Airport I will be stopping at the PitcStop from now on
Review 52:No bad experience, but on a personal level I would have liked to have seen my hosts for the breakfast experience, rather than have to go it alone, but truly this did not really impact on my stay, so I almost feel I needn't mention it. I would have liked a large bath towel to wrap up in but again, the towels were clean and adequate and when I mentioned them when asked, Melvyn said that they were being replaced soon, so all good stuff!
Review 53:Fabulous retro style, pristine! I have NEVER stayed anywhere (sad but true) that had this level of cleanliness, is it brand new? it looked it. Honestly I could have been the very first guest. I only wish I had come with friends and loved ones so as to share the experience with them.. Maybe next time I can bring them and we can fill the place up in one booking!
Review 54:Its so unusal having an american diner with a help yourself breakfast just makes your stay. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone
Review 55:Our hosts could not do enough for us, extremely helpful. Being able to use that kitchen was so good, it was so relaxing you felt as though you were in your own kitchen. Had just had a little operation and it was perfect just to relax. Cannot fault.
Review 56:Melvern is the headline act but the rest is also special. Will definitely be returning sometime soon. Home from home with a twist of fun. The attention to detail and love is second to none.
Review 57:Too many instructions by the owner and too many labels everywhere in the rooms. I felt that I went back to elementary school
Review 58:I was surprised by the cleanliness
Review 59:Nothing all was perfect
Review 60:Everything! Amazing facilities, quirky decor, abundance of food, drinks, snacks...attention to detail was fantastic Just loved everything was home from home and clearly a labour of love for the owner Melvyne who was a wonderful host
Review 61:I liked everything.
Review 62:Each room is beautifully and uniquely decorated. Having access to the well equipped, spacious Diner to cook your own breakfast and make drinks is a brilliant bonus. Any car lover will love the Morgan memorabilia. Such a warm and personal welcome from Melvyn.
Review 63:Outstanding and individual accommodation with a perfect sense for lovely details and design as well as for quality. The personal hospitality is superb. So all of it made our stay very enjoyable and unique as is the remakable, finest british craftsmanship of Morgan cars. We will come back!
Review 64:Can't think of a thing.
Review 65:A great break. The rooms were lovely and the 50s style diner was fab. A very warm welcome and we were helpfully directed to a very good gastropub nearby. Worth every penny.
Review 66:I loved everything about my stay. A must especially for Morgan Car enthusiasts. Real thought and TLC goes into this establishment. This is a special place to stay. Thanks Simon
Review 67:The self service was a true plus. We have never experienced this before and found it a true must for the future. An excellent idea and home from home as you could help yourself as you would at home without having to ask anyone. We really felt extremely relaxed.
Review 68:Nothing to dislike.
Review 69:Everything about the PitStop is 1st class. Nothing is overlooked and the attention to detail is very impressive. As Melvyn & Sindy were on holiday during our stay, we were more than looked after by Alistair who couldn't be more helpful. Recommended to all, this gem of a B&B is a pure delight. Thanks.
Review 70:nothing
Review 71:Melvyn met me and showed me round the b&b and was more than happy to let me know about local pubs etc. A refreshing change from corporate hotels. Keep doing what your doing!
Review 72:I liked everything, from the warm welcome and guided tour of the Morgan showroom and Pit Stop accommodation, to the brief history of Morgan cars. If you want something very different to corporate accommodation, then this is the place. Excellent!! Hope to stay again.
Review 73:Can't think of anything about the actual property. If I had to say anything its that its not very close to anything to walk to, e.g. to restaurants or shops. However the owner offered to drive me to a restaurant the evening I arrived. Its also easy to get a taxi so not a big deal.
Review 74:Everything! Amazing attention to detail, owner's passion for his property... clearly loves what he does, loves people. The kitchen area and whole set up and model to be able to help yourself makes you feel absolutely at home.
Review 75:This is only personal taste, not a fault but the bed was too soft for me but my wife slept very well. Being a big fella I found the shower a bit tight for space but again not a fault. Nearest pubs and restaurants are a drive not walking distance.
Review 76:Melvyn, our host was very welcoming and friendly. He took time to show us around and was knowledgable about the local area. The Pit Stop was very clean as well as the added interest of the cars and specially designed kitchen 'diner' No expense seemed to have been spared on the authenticity. Would definitetly stay there again.
Review 77:Some noise from the nearby Stansted airport wasn't great first thing in the morning, but it didn't spoil the stay at all
Review 78:The location was nice, easy to get to, within driving distance of other areas to visit, etc. The place itself was different, quirky, it is obvious that has been put together with care and a lot of dedication! The room was nicely decorated, yet had all the necessary mod coms. The decoration was stylish and crafted to the minimum detail, it was really lovely, and absolutely spotless. The kitchen was a complete hit, with the 50's dinner-style just perfect; well catered, a lot of choice, just had to think of any excuse to go there! We only met Melvyn, but he was very nice and welcoming. We felt at home, but with the loveliest of deco instead!
Review 79:The attention to detail was amazing. Super clean, quiet and the perfect stop over. The 'help yourself' breakfast is ideal when you have a small child who doesn't fit into 'tradtional' eating times, the range of food superb. The perfect retreat for a little 'petrol head' as well . . . . we will be back :-)
Review 80:The only thing was having to cook our own breakfast, when away on business that is not really what you want, no bacon!
Review 81:Very welcoming totally different and interesting very clean. Attention to detail can't be beaten
Review 82:Owner was very welcoming but just a little too overbearing and intrusive for us. We know this was because he is extremely proud of the very different and special place he's created.
Review 83:The cars, the diner, the very trusting nature of the owners.
Review 84:For non UK guests - hot water is not "on demand" like in most European countries but a storage system - so if there are many people with long hair, make sure you get up early enough! :)
Review 85:Everything was pretty much perfect! Price / Location / Host / Breakfast - Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting and unique room! One thing - it is a lovely quiet place - it has a 4 star ranking and while I can completely agree due to the quality of the rooms and personal touches, it does not have any leisure facilities - but you don't need them! Just hire a beautiful Morgan and go for a drive! We will be staying again for sure!
Review 86:The site here on Booking says there is no Wifi. There is.
Review 87:If there were 5 star hotels and there could be 5 star B&Bs, the PitStop would be a 5 star B&B. The detail and comfort is nothing we have ever experienced and we have travelled all over the world. Melvyn, the owner was a great host. He showed us around in his garage. He is truly a passionate Morgan fan and the PitStop reflects that. In one word: Quality. Every single thing down to door knobs were immaculate clean and inspiring. The kitchen area is 24h. You can eat/drink any time of the day which is an excellent solution. Truly an amazing place, built on customer recommendation. You won't find a place like this anywhere.
Review 88:Nothing - everything was simply perfect for me.
Review 89:I loved the whole place - excellent accommodation, comfortable, quiet, peaceful with all mod cons including electronic key code entry, security good, splendid host (pleasant, unobtrusive, helpful) , excellent themed decor and atmosphere, the option to hire one of the MOrgan cars to make the stay extra special is attracting me to take my wife on a pre holiday weekend and fly from stansted after enjoying a little Morgan time!
Review 90:Nothing to dislike whatsoever.
Review 91:What a jem of a B&B! Fabulous rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is DIY but unless you're after a full English, there is plenty to eat and drink.
Review 92:Loved everything.
Review 93:Funky, unique B&B
Review 94:A bit confusing to find our way to reception.
Review 95:Beautifully clean with a lovely Breakfast room which was outstanding and interesting.
Review 96:No restaurant
Review 97:Themed rooms
Review 98:Fantastic stay , made my girlfriends weekend . Would love to come back .

Review 107:Nothing at all. Very happy stay
Review 108:So well organised and extremely clean and tidy.
Review 109:Spacious, comfortable rooms with amazing interiors. Loved the DIY breakfast in the American diner kitchen.
Review 110:Fabulous place ,great host exceptional facilities . Just like a giant pick and mix for Morgan lovers. Had an amazing time Thank you
Review 111:Lovely comfortable accommodation, very stylish and very clean. I certainly would recommend this bed and breakfast to anybody.

Review 113:everything
Review 114:It was so different. The 1950's kitchen
Review 115:Room airy and spacious, bed very comfortable and quiet location.
