Reviews for Hôtel Beatus

Review 1:This hotel is in an excellent location for access to the port of Calais when travelling to or from France. The hotel has attractive decor and well-maintained gardens. Our room was extremely comfortable, spacious and quiet. The food in the hotel restaurant, both at dinner and breakfast, was to a high standard.

Review 2:Its close to the city center. You can go by walking. The lady at the reception and the other staff was so kind. The rooms are quite and there is a private parking area.

Review 3:Enchanting place, beautifully appointed yet unpretentious. Very quiet despite an urban context.. Little touches such as the old candle lamps around the entrance, the maple leaves made an autumn carpet, room charming, our dog very happy with all the attention.

Review 4:Very friendly and informative staff. Extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing - one of the best I have had in France. Croissants to die for! Fabulous room, extremely clean and well appointed. Out of this world shower. Could not find fault with anything.

Review 5:I travelled to France to complete pictures for a book called 'Death Pennies of the Lost Generation' I was accompanied by an elderly gentleman who had served with the Tank Regiment. He was over the moon when the hotel owner Took us to see 'Tank Deborah' and gave a wonderful tour of the Cambrai Battlefield. Truely outstanding. Thank you so much.

Review 6:Very convenient for motorway and town centre. Friendly and helpful owner/staff. Very nicely decorated and furnished - quirky and full of charm. Good car parking

Review 9:A beautiful little hotel with very friendly staff and a fantastic restaurant. Ideal stop off if travelling through Calais or for a small break in Northern France near to War Memorials etc

Review 10:From an earlier visit we found the food not to our liking, so didn't use the restaurant on this visit. Our room lacked air conditioning and with temperatures in the high 30s, we found our room a little too hot.

Review 11:The excellent garden and the staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

Review 12:Very friendly helpful staff, Beautiful garden in a quiet setting. The evening meal we had was delicious. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Wish we had booked for more than 1 night but would certainly stay again if in this area.

Review 36:This is a very elegant hotel and our room was charming, with an excellent shower and very comfortable bed. The staff were excellent and, as the restaurant was closed for dinner, they recommended a bistro in town which was very good. Our sleep was so good we overslept and had to rush off without breakfast to catch the ferry!

Review 37:How do you fill this spot when we liked the stay so much. Just the piped music in the restaurant we could have done without that

Food excellent. Would highly recommend and definitely go back again. 2 hours from Calais so good place to stop on the way back to the UK

Review 40:No restaurant service on the evening of our visit. But the owner drove us personally to a local restaurant which was brilliant. Our room had been newly refurbished the radiator was leaking and promptly fixed by the owner ....also later that evening we discovered that all the power sockets were off including the TV. The staff and owner had been so good helping us out that evening we didn't have the heart to complain again. WiFi was a little slow.

Review 108:We arrived at Hotel Beatus in our Vintage car and almost immediately were offered garage space overnight for our lovely 1935 car at no extra cost. Also when we went for dinner that evening, the lovely man who offered us the garage space had reserved a table for us overlooking the garden. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to remember his name but he also looked after us during dinner that evening. The food was delicious. We had hoped to see this lovely man again the following day but the next day was his day off. Thank you so much for some wonderful memories of Hotel Beatus in Cambrai. Written by Kay.
