Reviews for Hotel les Acanthes
Review 1:The bedrooms are being refurbished and the plumbing still needs attention to stop traps being syphoned with a resultant unpleasant odour if they are not refilled manually - something that a non diy'r might not realise would limit the odour.
Review 2:A good stop over with easy access to the Pont du Gard. Very pleasant reception and advice on local 'eateries'.
Review 3:Being well located to see the Pont du Gard. And just down the street was a very good restaurant. (We had neglected to give notice in time to have dinner at the hotel.)
Review 4:Well located on the edge of Remoullins, within 10 minutes' driving distance of the Pont du Gard. On site parking was conveniently provided and the standard continental breakfast was brought to the spacious room (inc. en suite, TV, air con unit).
Review 5:Only criticism is that the WC cubicle did not afford enough privacy - needs to have door that fits properly, not slides.
Review 6:Very easy to find though it did look a little tired around the entrance. Very welcoming staff who offered to show us the rooms before signing in - always a good sign. Rooms were comfortable if basic - excellent shower.plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Perfectly acceptable for an overnighter to visit Pont du Gard, etc. Best breakfast out of the four hotels we stayed in on our short break.
Review 7:A charming private hotel, the hosts are friendly and care about their guests. Breakfast selection are very reasonable Perfect place to stay for a visit to Pont du Gard. If you don't mind extra 25 mins of driving, this is a great bargain when visiting Avignon and area.
Review 8:- Surroundings look a bit poor or maybe just battered by the never-ending European economic crisis, but it does not feel unsafe - Even if I do not mind this, it must be said that rooms are on the first floor and there is not an elevator, which means that one should be prepared to take luggage up the stairs.
Review 9:- Good value - Simple, but nice breakfast - Friendly owner who would always start conversations and provide us with information on the surroundings (always spoke in my "broken French" with him; not sure if he speaks English) - Free parking - Nice location to explore Pont du Gard, Uzès and even Avignon. Also not far from vineyards and olive oil mills. - Very quiet neighborhood.

Review 19:The family who run this hotel are lovely. The manager was very helpful in trying to retrieve our property left on a bus. The breakfast was very good too.
Review 20:Tricky to get car out front gate in busy traffic.
Review 21:Good central location for getting to all the Roman sites in the area. Short distance to the Coloseum in Nimes, Viaduct at Pont du Gard and the amphitheatre at Orange.
Review 22:The hotel is very conveniently located for the Pont du Gard, and gave usa discount voucher for entry. It is clean, has good climate control andthe sound proofing is excellent. The owner was also extremely helpfuland friendly and warned us of a coming storm so we could adjust ourplans to visit the Pont Du Gard. An excellent, good value hotel that wewould stay in again.
Review 23:Outside neighborhood does not match the friendly, clean, and helpful experience inside. Do not be put off by the industrial feel of nearby structures. It is delightful inside.
Review 24:Proximity to Pont du Gard and good value. There is an awesome Roman aquaduct nearby which makes for a wonderfully fun and educational day visit.
Review 25:Just rather dim and uninspiring in mood, needs a bit more light and some flowers or something to pep it up.
Review 26:Adequate 2-star hotel, nothing inspiring but absolutely fine for the budget. Clean, hot shower, decent bed. Flexible in arriving late and leaving early. Good base to visit Pont du Gard.
Review 27:There was no Wi Fi as promised in the room, and we could only getservice if we stood close to the front desk. The plumbing in thebathroom was poor and the toilet made an awful sound. The room was largebut outdated. The beds were very hard.
Review 28:It was close to an attraction we wanted to visit. Free parking.
Review 29:long pillow was not so comfortable.
