Reviews for The Old Minister's House
Review 1:A perfect place for a new year break - all the little touches make it a very special place to stay. Watching red squirrels at the breakfast table, the complimentary sherry and shortbread and the afternoon brownies and mulled wine!
Review 2:Absolutely nothing. There is nothing to dislike about this place.
Review 3:Everything, this is simply superb. Do yourself a favour, looking for somewhere to stay in Aviemore? book yourself in here.
Review 4:Couches in the lounge weren't very comfortable but not unusual in hotels. Also not unusual in hotels TV is not located in line with the bed but away in a corner. Would be better if the TV was on top of the chest of drawers which would line it up closer to the bed.
Review 5:Nice house, very clean & in a good location. Breakfast excellant both mornings. Owner & staff very nice & helpful.
Review 6:Lack of fridge in room was a minus point. Collecting and returning vacuum flasks of milk for tea/coffee from fridge in hallway was a little odd for a guest house of this status.
Review 7:Nice period property in convenient location. Comfortable well appointed room, attentive staff. Good breakfast menu.
Review 8:We had only booked one night! Will definitely be returning.
Review 9:Absolutely everything had been thought of. Lovely house and staff, great rooms and breakfast. And thanks for the sherry!
Review 10:Having to leave when our weekend was over.
Review 11:Very clean & comfortable, lots of luxurious extras like the sherry, handmade biscuits & toiletries. Breakfast was amazing - French toast with bacon & maple syrup - yum.
Review 12:Beautiful decor and sense of tranquility. Lots of nice touches, with labelled 'delicacies' in the room. Fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 13:Felt like home. Lots of lovely little touches that made our stay a pleasure. Lovely staff. The quality of work put into the guesthouse made us feel like we didn't want to leave.
Review 14:Best b&b experience we've had! Loved the room, decor all around, breakfast was outstanding with great warm service with lovely background Celtic music. Temperature through out our stay was perfect and the gardens were spectacular
Review 15:Can't think of anything
Review 16:Best B&B I've been to - excellent location, wonderful rooms and superb breakfast. The host Shelagh has thought of everything
Review 17:The decor ambience and cleanliness of this establishment is second to none will not hesitate to recommend it to friends buisness friends etc it was simply a PERFECT 10 !!!!!!!
Review 18:We loved everything about the Old Ministers House - the staff, the room, the decor, the extreme comfort and the great location in relation to the beautiful countryside.
Review 19:The owners welcome to guests who have paid top rate for luxuriousaccommodation falls somewhat short of what anyone would expect a fewlessons in manners and customer service are needed urgently The waitressat breakfast could give her a few tips
Review 20:This was a beautiful b+b 5star in every area....with only one fault -its owner! Why someone so aloof and unfriendly would want to be in thehospitality trade is a mystery
Review 21:We were woken up in the wee small hours by guests who had lost the code for the front door!! Not the fault of the B&B but maybe a door lock opened with a key would be more appropriate.
Review 22:Situated close enough to Aviemore that you could walk into the town but was also in a quiet location.
Review 23:Staff in charge was rude, argumentative, impolite. She clearly needs training on hospitality and customer service. I wull not stay again and I do not recommend staying here while the same staff runs the hotel.
Review 24:Superbly clean, great location, amazing breakfast, comfy beds, attention to detail
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:As well as being exceptionally comfortable, the guest house is beautifully decorated. A wonderful breakfast (cooked to order) and extra little touches like sherry, home made biscuits and an extensive selection of teas in your room, made for a perfect stay. On our experience we'd have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.
Review 27:Treated like backpackers !! Could not have earlier breakfast than 9.30a.m. or a packed lunch. Owner very businesslike and highly efficient but sadly not a warm welcome.
Review 28:Great Breakfast
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:Everything was immaculate, the attention to detail was amazing. It was calm, high quality and nothing too much trouble while nor=t being intrusive.
Review 31:The bed was a 'zippy-twin', zipped up to make a double. It had seen better days and was too soft and both beds sagged a lot to form a trough. It made sleeping on your side almost impossible. So we didn't sleep very well, and a good nights sleep is the most important requirement for us - especially as we expected it to be better. Also the breakfasts were a mixed bag. The cold selection was lovely, tasty and fresh, but the cooked meals were disappointing, (nasty hollandaise sauce and rock hard muffin), again unexpected as you had to book a time slot for breakfast, so we had expected it to be delicious.
Review 32:Fabulous location. Beautiful house, very well appointed and lovely looking room.
Review 33:Booking with owner of B & B was different from that confirmed by Booking.com. We booked 2 rooms and wrong one was allocated to our friends. Our email from Booking.com was not the same as the owners. Very embarrassing as our friends had to stump up another £15 for a room that should have been ours. Please comment!
Review 34:Beautiful location, house and room. Stunning decor and spotlessly clean. Breakfast heavenly.
Review 35:Not a god connection with the Wifi although not sure if this was relayed to the recent storm.
Review 36:Professionally run and comfortable and very clean guest house . Great breakfast and lots of little goodies in the room.
Review 37:Having to leave! :-)
Review 38:Beautiful decor throughout, spacious rooms, lots of thoughtful little touches throughout our stay which made us feel so welcome and pampered. Will definitely be back - The Old Minister's House will be the only place we stay from here on when visiting Aviemore!!
Review 39:Abrupt treatment by some staff Black mould on ceiling of our room Breakfast music twee!
Review 40:In-room tea and coffee making facilities were good quality and good choice Choice of DVDs to watch in-room Breakfast was plentiful and tasty Honesty bar Good recommendations for local restaurants
Review 41:Innkeeper had left the property approximately 15 minutes before our projected time of arrival leaving note in door together other accommodations for the evening. After driving in the rain all day, my wife and I were very angry about having to search for several hours to find a room. I have booked numerous times with booking.com and have never had anymore unpleasant experiences. Since I paid in advance for our room, I would hope that booking.com would refund my payment.
