Reviews for Best Western Restormel Lodge Hotel
Review 1:Not the hotels fault but it was being refurbished, it has to be done. And we did benefit from a lovely new bathroom.
Review 2:Comfortable room with new bathroom, friendly helpful staff and good location.
Review 3:The price of the breakfast! Far too expensive we had to look for breakfast elsewhere in the town
Review 4:Room was warm and welcoming had everything we needed, the shower was lovely, loved the heated towel rail! the evening meal was nice very cosy hotel
Review 5:Although the room was at the rear of the hotel and the windows were double glazed we could still hear the traffic on the A390. Also two guests leaving at 3.45 one morning saying their good byes in Car Park below our room, and banging of car doors. However, bed nice and comfy
Review 6:It satisfied our needs
Review 7:Pillows weren't very good but that's my only complaint
Review 8:Perfect location. Staff warm and friendly.service was excellent. Food was superb and we were made to feel very welcome
Review 9:We needed an extra bed in the room, so the hotel provided a Z bed which was uncomfortable because of the thin mattress.
Review 10:Staff were very friendly, we were made to feel very welcome. The kids really enjoyed the pool. There was a good breakfast selection and we had a nice evening meal in the restaurant. The beds were also very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 11:Not a bad experience as such, but the waitressing staff during breakfast was clearly overwhelmed by the number of guests, and also seemed to lack some skills to work as a team.
Review 12:The room was very comfortable, nicely styled and furnished and very clean.
Review 13:The hotel was basic, you get what you paid for, good value for money. The breakfast was £12.99 per person which I think was very expensive.
Review 14:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was large enough for double, single bed and for us to put up the travel cot. Swimming pool was heated.
Review 15:Staff not too efficient, especially at the restaurant. You could clearly hear also whispers to the other room attached. Noisy because our room was close to the wooden stairs. Part of bathroom curtain missed, so people can see inside. No value for money, too expensive.
Review 16:Room was clean.
Review 17:the usual issues with the wi-fi being slow but, that could have been down to the fact that we were in the middle of some kind of Cornish Monsoon!
Review 18:The hotel was in a beatiful town. The staff were extremely helpful and polite even when the 3 of us arrived, soaking wet with a dog in tow. The pet friendly room (No.34) took us completely by surprise. We were anticipating a triple room covered in pet hairs but, it was exactly the opposite and was better than many deluxe rooms I have stayed in! The room was spotless, lovely bedding, flat screen TV with a well stocked tea making facilities. We even managed to get 3 hot baths without any issues. As we had a small dog, we had to have our breakfast in the bar area which, we totally understood. Regardless of that, the staff were still very attentive and kept checking on us to see that we had everything we needed. All in all an excellent experience.
Review 19:The friendliness of the staff, parking facilities, excellent breakfast, tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Heated swimming pool. We will definitely return as an ideal location with a friendly town.
Review 20:I wish I booked for longer.
Review 21:Due to an emergency my partner was not able to come with us. The staff at the hotel made me feel safe and could not have helped me more! Our room was very clean, new carpet and a perfect size. I cannot wait to return here.
Review 22:The cost of breakfast was not clearly explained when I booked the hotel or when I checked in. The restaurant for dinner was appalling slow, for such a quiet night.
Review 23:Staff were generally very friendly and the rooms were a nice size. The en suite was nice until I noticed the mould growing above the shower.
Review 24:English breakfast cold. Uncomfortable chairs in restaurant.,
Review 25:Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent bar food. Excellent continental breakfast choice. Swimming pool.
Review 26:The outside appearance but once you are inside, it's lovely
Review 27:Layout of hotel is unusual, new and old mixed together. Comfortable and large room with easy access to car park. Staff very attentive and restaurant served lovely food. Outdoor pool was a bonus.
Review 28:Just only the coffe I didn't like,it wasn't that taste.
Review 29:We didn't expect 3star hotel to so clean and tidy.the food very fresh and delicious.all the staff very polite and made as feel special.even they set up a table for breakfast for us in the bar, because we were with the dog.
Review 30:Not great value for money. On top of the room rate we paid £40 for breakfast and only stayed 2 nights. Stupidly we thought breakfast was included but our mistake so would not stay here again. Pool not working but website said yes.
Review 31:Breakfast was good
Review 32:I was cold when we returned late to our room, I should have liked to find an extra blanket in the cupboard. I thought 1.30 am was too late to disturb the staff, although the the receptionist said the following morning that she wouldn't have minded.
Review 33:Friendly staff
Review 34:I could not stay longer due to having to go to work!
Review 35:Food especially Breakfast, room facilities and the swimming pool, staff who were excellent and were happy to help any time of the day, for example opening the pool when I wanted a swim and extending my stay, Location of hotel. Home from home in my view.
Review 36:We didn't have a bad experience.
Review 37:It was very comfortable and they put me next door to my daughter and son-in-law. Also it was very close to my relations house.
Review 38:We were very impressed with the Hotel - its staff were very welcoming, pleasant and very willing to help. The bedroom was one of the best we have stayed in and the bed was very comfortable. We had an evening meal which was very enjoyable and served by friendly staff. Breakfast was very good standard. Unfortunately, we were able to stay for only one night.
Review 39:Noise transfer from adjacent rooms poor- one room was just about acceptable but other room meant my children were listening to next doors TV
Review 40:Quality of room and ensuite standard. Free car parking. Staff were very friendly and courteous.
Review 41:The menu was very restricted especially as I was there for several nights and the weather was not particularly conducive to going out. In addition, while a reasonably high standard of food would be expected and was to be found, some of the presentations were, to my old mind, strange to say the least.
Review 42:Nothing in particular stood out
Review 43:love lostwithiel.room in outside block was excellent as it gave us our own front door and easy access to the town.great place pubs restaurants and people
Review 44:Couldn't get hot water for the shower, it was tepid and as we were leaving early we couldn't mention it.
Review 45:Very hwlpful staff. We were late arriving due to bad weather and getting lost! Still managed to get food even though they had a function on.
Review 46:Despite having the executive room, noise from creaking staircase and back door into car park disturbed our sleep. Long wait for breakfast most mornings.
Review 47:Useful base and good restaurants nearby.
Review 48:Limited choice of alcoholic drinks in the bar.
Review 49:Great 'superior room'. Large wet room. Meal in the restaurant. Good location on the main road heading east from the Eden Project.
Review 50:The rooms could be updated, they were a little dated.
Review 51:The rooms were very clean. Could do with updating, but perfectly functional. The swimming pool was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. It was great to be able to bring our dog.
Review 52:Couldn't fault anything at all.
Review 53:Lovely helpful staff, great food, very clean and tidy. Loved the heated pool. Safe car park at the back. The location in the town is excellent, gift shops, cafes, antique shops, local produce shops and friendly people. Fabulous value for money.
Review 54:The bar area is a bit sterile and not a relaxed comfortable place for a quiet drink after a day in Gods own county.
Review 55:The staff are friendly and helpful. My room at the rear of the building was quiet, clean and very comfortable.
Review 56:Can't really think of anything, unless you want to be really near the coast, but then again the local kids play in the river as it is so shallow in the summer.
Review 57:Staff were really lovely. The pool was as warm as the indoor one I usually swim in, great to relax. Food was good and if they didn't have what you wanted out at breakfast they would do it for you. There was a group staying 2 nights and compared to some far larger hotels I have stayed, the service was still amazing. Great central location for days out. Room was clean smart and really comfortable with an amazing walk in shower, had some of the best hotel nights sleep here. Plenty of free parking.
Review 58:The room was clean but there seemed to be a problem with condensation in the bathroom.
Review 59:The staff were polite, friendly, attentive and well trained. We liked the fact that the dogs were welcomed including in the bar area. Well presented and maintained public areas.
Review 60:There was nothing to dislike on our visit.
Review 61:There were friendly helpful staff, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the staff accommodated a vegetarian diet well. The hotel was well located for our visit offering easy access to the places we were visiting.
Review 62:The outside pool area could do with a facelift as could the outside of the buildings.
Review 63:The staff were excellent. Food in the restaurant was very good. Room comfortable and clean.
Review 64:There was nothing we disliked other than the entrance area in the front looked if it could do with up dateing
Review 65:The room was great everything we wanted. Nice bathroom and comfortable beds.
Review 66:Lounge area basic. Front of hotel on busy main road. Many of rooms have no view. Standard size beds. Only ate breakfast at hotel which was adequate.
Review 67:Bedroom small but nice, cleanliness exellent, pool clean and water warm. In nice small town with at least two good restaurants close by.
Review 68:There was not enough comfortable seating in the lounge and bar area.
Review 69:The children loved the outdoor pool and garden area. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the meals were of good quality and well presented.
Review 70:Nothing.
Review 71:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The day we arrived was very hot and we had a nice cool drink in the garden before taking a dip in the open air swimming pool. The rooms we had were very clean and comfortable. It was the perfect location to stay for our trip to the Eden project the following day. I would definitely stay here again.
Review 72:That I had to go back to the campsite!
Review 73:Checked in after a massive downpour at our campsite, couldn't have had a better welcome and the lovely receptionist went above and beyond to help us. Nice clean rooms, warm outdoor pool that the kids loved even in the rain.
Review 74:The shower curtain was really annoying, didnt leave you enough room.
Review 75:The Staff friendly and efficient. The food was good. The hotel was clean, rooms bright. Facilities good. Easy to find.
Review 76:I had to store one of the spare pillows on top of the wardrobe only to find out that the area was very dusty. It would be nice to keep areas that are not easily visible as clean as the rest of the room.
Review 77:The rooms where we stayed had a link door which was great for providing privacy when needed and also to allow for sharing of the room facilities by the whole family. The beds were very comfortable. Staff was always ready to help.
Review 78:Many steps up and down to annex rooms, not so good for people challenged by steps.
Review 79:Lostwithiel is a small town with great character. The hotel is very good in its price range: quiet, comfortable, efficient, good staff. Recommended.
Review 80:The weather!
Review 81:Staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. Special thanks to the staff who loaned us their own umbrellas.
Review 82:Room was very very cold. We turned the electric heating up to the maximum, but was still cold.
