Reviews for Bize de la Tour
Review 1:What an amazing place! Originally we booked only one night but ended up staying an extra night because we didn't want to leave. Pierre was an amazing host and cook! All his homemade jams are out of this world. Best Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in.
Review 2:Pierre, the host, is the best you can find in France. The BIZE is in a quiet small town but ideally located inbetween cultural "hot spots" in easy driving distance. The house is a small jewel and from the host equipped with the taste of an interior architect or better stage designer. If you look for savoir vivre in France than visit Bize de la Tour!
Review 3:wiFi reception in the room
Review 4:Everything was absolutely amassing – Pierre, the owner of the B&B is an exceptional host, the charming building with a lot of atmosphere, the breakfast – amazing (with selection of about 15 different types of tea, homemade jams and everyday homemade exceptional cakes, etc); location – perfect. Will definitely recommend to my friends
Review 5:Great location for Pont-Du-Gard. Charming host. We had the family suite which consisted of a master bedroom and 3 singles in the tower which the kids absolutely loved. One of the best breakfasts we've had at a Chambre d'Hotes. All bedrooms and facilities spotlessly clean. Unique place.
Review 6:The host Pierre was brilliant from the moment we stepped through the door. We all had a great time it felt very relaxed and homely. The breakfast was perfect. What more can one say.
Review 7:The boss of the hotel is really nice! We check in at 11:00pm and he just waited in front of the hotel, really nice! Breakfast is great, so do the location.
Review 8:Wifi in the lobby area only worked briefly one time then did not work at all the rest of our stay. No locks on room doors.
Review 9:Breakfast offered may varieties and was delicious
Review 10:Just perfect-one of the best hotels I've ever been Old-fashined rooms in this middle-age tower are in perfect condition Large room and nice breakfast Friendly staff
Review 11:House equipment, friendly owner ready to help with anything, his great hospitality, his interest in his guests, you can feel there as a part of the house, special atmosphere inside the whole house
Review 12:Only drawback was rather challenging parking but that's to be expected in a medieval village setting
Review 13:The setting is gorgeous but the star of the show was our host Pierre who is rightly proud of his extraordinary achievements in turning an 18th century house with parts dating back to the 11th century into a very comfortable and charming place to stay. Breakfast is a highlight where Pierre cooks everything fresh and then spends time enjoying conversation with guests and providing very good tips on local attractions - both to see and to avoid. Highly recommended.
Review 14:Pierre is a great host, and his house beautiful and historic. Great location if you want to walk to Pont du Gard. Also close to (in the middle of) Avignon, Uzes, Nines etc. Loved the traditional French breakfasts. Would love to return again.
Review 15:The owner was fantastic- friendly and attentive. The building had a great historical atmosphere and beautifully furnished . Breakfasts were excellent.
Review 18:The bed was very firm. The Wifi was a little patchy in some areas, but this is to be expected with a building of this type.
Review 19:We are very thankful we found this gem. Pierre was welcoming, extremely helpful and knowledgeable which helped us plan our three days in this area, and he was generous with his time, and forgiving of our extremely poor French language skills. His breakfast spread was a great start to each day and meeting his other guests enriched our stay. The room had everything we needed, and having access to washing machine and large fridge also helped us with our self catering during the days there. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Gard region of Provence.
Review 20:Our host was very welcoming and made sure we had everything needed to enjoy our stay. Bize de la Tour is an authentic and lovingly renovated historic place, decorated with style.
Review 21:Not one thing!
Review 22:From the moment you are greeted at the front door by Pierre, you sense that you are in for an experience of a lifetime of travel. The beauty of Biize de la Tour inside and out is the creation of a master of design and charm. Our room could not have been more comfortable. Pierre's recommendations of what to do and where to eat were flawless. Breakfast around the community table was delicious, fun, filled can with lively conversation of happy guests, hosted by Piere, himself.
Review 23:It's only a tiny place so not much to dislike!
Review 24:Central location for visits to Uzes, Barbentane, St Remy de Provence, Pont du Gard etc Amazing renovation of both the 12th & 19rh century parts of the house by the owner Pierre who is also a great host. A fascinating building and a pretty, if small but perfectly formed old town. Very clean and tidy thanks to, we are led to believe, the mayor!
Review 25:The WiFi did not work so well, but actually it did not bother us that mutch.
Review 26:Really, I have all positive to say about this place. I have been to many hotels around Europe and this is on my top 5 list! The superb host has a very nice manner get his guests feel very welcome. I like the way he had breakfast with us every morning. I loonging for coming back already!
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:Everything Pierre was an excellent host . He provided us either comfort, excellent breakfast, washing machine and excellent cycling advice. He kindly posted some goods we left behind to our next stop. I would highly recommend the service at this unique place.
Review 29:Rattling doors (didn't latch) A slight bit of traffic noise at rush hours Nothing really
Review 30:Beautiful property Sense of pride & history Location convenient to Pont du Gard and Uzes Gracious and friendly host Amazing bathroom with every luxury
Review 31:Having to leave.
Review 32:The history of the place, also having breakfast with the owner that explained about the surrounds and planning our trip for the day. Don’t miss the chance for a great holiday. The charm of the place is so great. Don’t be concerned about you cannot lock room, the owner has full control of the place as he lives there to.
Review 33:The owner is very helpful and enjoyable person. It has been a pleasure staying in this magnificent place. Highly recommendable. Great breakfast! Thanks
Review 34:We both really appreciated the warm welcome we received and the excellent recommendation of a good seafood restaurant. We also were hugely impressed with the quality of the accommodation which has been lovingly restored by our Host. The attention to detail is wonderful and evident in every room. In terms of value for money, I doubt you can find better!
Review 35:We stayed on the top floor. The Wi-Fi signal is not so stable sometimes.
Review 36:The owner made the place a medieval style. It feels like living in a castle. Very very unique and comfort. Strongly recommended!
Review 37:Nothing.
Review 38:This place is so great in every possible way: the host Pierre is warm and caring person, who makes your stay really comfortable. The historical building is unique place to stay, every room is different. We stayed on 2nd floor in twin room and the room was wonderful : big windows, lots of light, nice view to the street and church (the double on 2nd floor is smaller than twin, so on that floor I recommend to stay in the twin). Breakfast is delicious (Pierre bakes every morning and you can have some home made yoghurt and fruits)---all in all so great, that we did not want to leave!
Review 39:There was nothing negative. It was all wonderful.
Review 40:Great location, and a beautiful room with lots of space. The breakfast was wonderful. Pierre makes homemade cakes and pastries and the fruit, bread and rolls were so tasty. Pierre took the time to give us plenty of recommendations on how to tour the area and was a perfect host. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We loved our stay and would highly recommend his wonderful home.
Review 41:Piere our host is a great friend who will make you welcome in his accommodation and advise on daily trips and other great things to see and experience in this fantastic part of France. You must stay here!!
Review 42:Wifi needs improvement.
Review 43:Pierre was a wonderful host. He helped us plan our journey around Remoulins. The facilities and the small patio next to the tower was delightful.
Review 44:A bed and breakfast in an 18th century atmosphere. Host Pierre does everything and more to let you feel welcome and comfortable. Parking facility was closed and safe and within 2 minutes walking.
Review 45:Having to leave... Looking forward to seeing you next time, Pierre!
Review 46:We had a truly wonderful stay with Pierre in his beautiful tower. Pierre is the perfect host and made us feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking our own meals in the kitchen then eating them on the amazingly old terrace up in the tower. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the bathrooms are huge. Pierre prepares a huge breakfast every morning and we loved that he shares this time with the guests so you really get insight into French life. Pierre speaks very good English but allows you to practice your French in a most endearing way. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the region. Rod and Rachel Short, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
Review 47:A TV to catch up on Wimbledon's and the Tour de France would have been nice but wireless worked well.
Review 48:Pierre is a wonderful host, an excellent cook and a great source of advice. The building is lovely and the old village of Remoulins very picturesque. Breakfasts are superb and taken family-style. Great places nearby include the Pont du Gard, Uses and Les Baux.

Review 66:The charm of the tower and the owner, who made us feel as very special guests.
Review 67:Everything, it made for a great overnight stay on our way to the South. The breakfast is all homemade and exceptional
Review 68:No lock on our room door. But I am told that this is normal.
Review 69:Possibly could have a bit more lighting on the stairs
Review 70:Pierre was a great host, breakfasts were excellent. He was very helpful with local information and was most generous to accomadate a change to our booking
Review 71:Pierre was a fantastic host, enthusiastic about the area, always full ofvaluable information as to where to go and what to see plus hisbreakfast was to die for.
Review 72:Remoulins where the B&B is located is not so very interesting, but it is very close to all sorts of sights, mediëval villages and of course Avignon.
Review 73:A beautiful old house, built in the watch-tower of the former city-wall. Pierre is a wonderful host, who made us feel very much at home, gave us excellent advice on the sights we wanted to see. Private parking place, sumptuous breakfast with fresh orange juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, all sorts of bread and homemade jams and cakes. Just twenty minutes away from Avignon, and close to Villeneuve-les-Avignon where there are several nice restaurants where you can dine outside in the village square.
Review 74:Pierre, our host, was charming and helpful - with directions and knowledge of area attractions. We enjoyed meeting other guests around the breakfast table - complete with homemade preserves and baked goods.
Review 75:Great location for the traveller with a car who prefers the small town within easy drive of all the sights and cities. The friendliest proprietor ever! Cooks up a fabulous breakfast and helps with your sightseeing plans. The best!
Review 76:We would rate this property a 9.4. Pierre was great and so very helpfulin all regards. There is a private parking garage which stays closedwhen you are gone. The rooms were great as was the breakfast. Therestaurants nearby within walking distance were good. Best shower inFrance...quiet, clean and great sleeping.
Review 77:I loved the breakfast that Pierre made every morning. The structure, itself, is incredible. You feel as if you have gone back in time. The restaurant next door was unbelievable and the information about local sites and local history that Pierre gave us was perfect for planning our days.
Review 78:Charming hotel with a gracious host, very knowledgeable about the region and very willing to give great tips for sightseeing. Delicious traditional breakfast with home made yogurt and preserves. Wonderful atmosphere in historic quarter of ancient village. Highly memorable experience!
Review 79:Nothing!!
Review 80:Pierre was an amazing host. Very friendly, informative and generous. Would highly recommend and was a good quiet location where u could easily reach tourist destinations.
Review 81:The only thing we didn't like was having to leave! We would have liked to have stayed longer!
Review 82:The owner Pierre is attentive, welcoming and obliging in every way. The facilities were some of the best we found in France and we cannot speak highly enough of our accommodation. It really was superb!
Review 83:Nothing to complain about here,
Review 84:We only stayed one night but it was terrific. The room is big and very nicely decorated. The breakfast in the morning was terrific and the owner was more than helpful.
Review 85:absolutly nothing

Review 87:- ambiance (building is very well renovated although keeping the old atmosphere); - Pierre, our host, is a very kind person; he gave us all necessary information related to the touristic attractions from the area; - cleanliness;
Review 88:Must be very careful when driving inside the village.
Review 89:Wonderful 11th century country house. Very friendly and helpful host, speaking very good English. Location is great, lovely 11-16 century village, 20km driving to Avignon, same to Nimes, 10min driving to Pont du Gard. Should stay longer.
Review 90:Loved the beautifully restored castle. Amazing family room with double room and bathroom on one level and double room and sitting area on floor above (up spiral staircase of the tower). Lovely balcony overlooking courtyard. Kids felt they were prince and princess of a real fairy-tail castle. Lovely home cooked breakfast
Review 91:We totally enjoyed our stay with Pierre. He was very welcoming after our long drive offering iced tea and cold drinks and showing us to the garage for our car. The guesthouse is amazing with great history and is close to town and the Pont du Gard. Pierre is very helpful with local information on places to see and recommending restaurants. His home made breakfast if fabulous!
Review 92:Everything was great about this place: the owner (Pierre) in the first place! He instantly makes you feel welcome. The room was beautiful and big, decorated in the old style of the building. Breakfast was very good. There is a private parking nearby.
Review 93:More information - perhaps a sheet - might be provided on which restaurants in Remoulins are open on which night, and which are the better ones. We wasted some time wondering around and ended up eating pizza on one night. We would have been marginally more comfortable if the bedrooms had keys. It was not a problem but a surprise.
Review 94:Bize de la Tour lived up to all the very high opinions we have read. The building is fascinating what with its spiral staircase, huge beams etc. The rooms are superbly furnished and the bathroom has everything one would want. Pierre could not have been more welcoming, could not have done any more to help, and his relaxed attitude helped to relax his guests. On each of the three days we were there he had cooked something special for breakfast as an addition to everything else offered. There were especially nice touches such as a cake and fruit available all day in the reception room, and it was wonderful to see bunches of cherries together with their leaves. Pierre has a certain style and it is a place we will long remember.
Review 95:Excellent welcome, outstanding breakfast served with style in a beautiful room, sense of history, comfortable bedrooms decorated in period styles, convenient to the city center, Pont du Gard and local markets
Review 96:Bize de la Tour is a little jewel. This tiny hotel (4 rooms) is impeccably furnished, with each detail well-thought out. We stayed in the Louis XIII bedroom, with a canopy bed, fireplace and large closets. The bed was comfortable, and extra feather pillows were provided. The bathroom is huge by any standards, with a wonderful tub for bubble baths and a separate shower. Everything was sparkling clean. Pierre is a delightful host, who provided afternoon tea and a delicious breakfast with homemade jams, fresh breads, strawberries, cereal, teas, hot chocolate, juices and coffee. Bowls of fresh fruit and gorgeous displays of flowers decorate the charming communal rooms (formal dining area, living room and small salon). There is a lovely outside terrace with access to the medieval ramparts of the old town wall and a breathtaking view of the town. Bize de la Tour is also walking distance from the Pont du Gard, the majestic Roman Acquaduct. Secure parking is provided. All in all, a perfect experience. We look forward to another visit.
Review 97:Everything. I stayed there with my two adult children. The house is so interesting - we stayed in the family room (actually rooms) in the part of the house built in the 11th century. Pierre is a cheerful and accommodating host. He is a great resource with lots of knowledge about the area that he likes to share. Breakfast was wonderful. Definitely try the homemade jam!
Review 98:Beautiful house lovingly restored by Pierre a very friendly and helpful host. Pierre provides a lovely fresh breakfast which he joins you for. Great location for seeing the Pont du Gard.
Review 99:I would have liked to be able to scoot the twin beds together to make one bed for my husband and myself. There was a table between the two beds, so this would have been challenging.
Review 100:Remoulins is in a good location for taking in a good sampling of Provence. The Pont su Gard is right there, and it is one of the most incredible Roman ruins we have ever seen. That said, there is not much to the town itself and it is quite the crossroads with a lot of traffic. Bize de la Tour oozes charm and history, and Pierre is a jovial host.
Review 101:We liked everything. Pierre could not have done more to make our stay perfect. He even made orange scones which were still warm from oven at breakfast, delicious. The decor was fascinating, with antique touches to match the building. Will recommend to our friends. Looking forward to our next visit!
Review 102:Every moment of our stay in this hotel was purely AMAZING! Luxurious rooms with castle- style decoration, very welcoming and kind host who lives in the same facility with you. He cooks you fantastic home made breakfast which you enjoy together. Hotel situated close to many attractions, easy drive distance to Avignon and many other beautiful places. Would very much recommend to visit this hotel for those who would like to feel as a king in his castle :) Truly unique experience.
Review 103:To make one remark: the sound proofing is not 100%... especially ifthere are other guests that get up every day at 6am :)
Review 104:Everything was perfect: excellent host, stunning rooms, breakfast, ...
Review 105:Pierre is an excellent host. Made us feel at home.
Review 106:Atmosphere and ambiance. Great breakfast and pleasant owner.
Review 107:Pierre personal attention in a extraordinary tasteful hotel. We enjoyed our short stay and can recommend the hotel.
Review 108:Great atmosphere with matching antiques. Breakfast was excellent
