Review 1：The receiption was unmanned and locked after the bar closed. .. We had a fire alarm activition which lead to two fire engines turning up ... We waited over an hour while a key holder was located... not very good...

Review 3：Stayed overnight prior to traveling to Stanstead Airport. Good for a 3*. room was clean and comfortable although it took a little while for the heating to bring the temperature up. We had dinner in the evening which was very nice. would stay again.

Review 10：Where to begin? To start the rooms were very old fashioned. I was underthe impression that it would be a modern/posh type hotel consideringthe spa is fantastic. The decor was orange with old fashioned Paisleycarpets. The showers were so powerful that when I turned it on to warmup the pressure of it bounced against the wall, spun round and soaked meand my partner as well as managing to reach out onto the carpet causingmy bed to be wet all night. Not to mention that there seemed to be only2 temperatures; boiling hot or freezing cold!! Unfortunately at thispoint it was boiling hot and scalded my face and neck, I had to sit witha wet towel on me. We wasn't shown to our room, the lady behind thecounter said 'you're at room 45, walk diagonally across the carpark and you'll see a farm house'. We walked around at 11o'clock at night for 10 minutes trying to work out the entrance ofthis building that looked like somebody's house. The fire alarm wentoff at midnight and as I rung reception she said 'okay someone willsort it out' and put the phone down. I had no idea if it was a realfire, a drill or an accident so me and my partner as well as a few womencame out of our rooms (and I was in my bath towel!!) There were emptybiscuit wrappers and tea bag wrappers under the desk in the room as Inoticed when I plugged my phone in to charge. Over all I'm veryupset, it was supposed to be a surprise for my partner and I payed £71for the ''experience''. Definitely would not recommendor book again!!
Review 11：The location was okay, I liked the idea of being in a separate building.There were complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits and the tv had allchannels unlike other hotels.
Review 12：Rooms were basic and very cold during the night (we stayed in September) Bed was the most uncomfortable at bed I have ever slept in at a hotel!

Review 14：Bed lumpy. Pillows lifeless. TV Remote missing. Floor very creaky. Shower awful and could only fill the bath from the shower as you could not switch the water to come out of the taps! Took ages to half fill the bath.

Review 16：Super host, very sociable. Great friendly staff. I arrived late but still they made me a steak with trimmings. There was lots of music and dancing and the place was alive with enjoyment. The atmosphere was great. I would definitely go back and I would recommend it to anyone.

Review 19：Lovely hotel but we paid to stay in a suite. When we arrived pool not functioning ( one of the reasons for our stay) The suite had a radiator that could not be turned off in the bathroom, chair broken and generally poor quality in the rom
Review 20：Unfortunately we were not aware that the Hotel holds lots of weekend cabaret acts. We stayed when it was a Motown night along with a crowd of ageing Essex girls who seemed to be regulars. They danced the night away and then stayed up till 4am drinking. No one else in the Hotel got any sleep. There is no staff on site at night so we were unable to get a night Porter to silence them. Do not stay here if you are flying off on holiday the next day or if for whatever reason a good nights sleep is important to you.
Review 21：Location. Close to airport but in a pretty village. Food quite good. breakfasts excellent, if you are awake in time to eat it. Hen parties often stay here and its not good for getting any sleep!!!
Review 22：Breakfast didn't justify price, shower in room not very powerful, manageress so rude, dirty cup on table at breakfast asked her to change it 4 another nicely had no apology then slammed new one on table which was still dirty, no people skills I was so shocked as I ve worked in this environment and u don't treat people paying customers like that soo rude, prob wont stay here again so unprofessional, also plates at breakfast table really dirty to.had to keep changing them till we found a clean one a few people stayin there were doin same thing,. Found young manager so rude made me feel so uncomfortable was unpleasent, the rest of stay was OK apart from that!!

Review 36：with 2 young children the excessive noise from below room,due to a function overspilling into the car park and smokers outlet we didnt manage to sleep until 1.30am which was unacceptable probably the worst nights sleep in a hotel ever and i stay in a few.kids where tired next day.there was also noise inside the hotel you could hear all days shutting and toilets flushing.PLUS my booking was put through as a family room at65 pound when i got there it was 75 pound
Review 37：Our wing had paper thin walls so that you could hear what the neighbours were watching on TV and discussions in the corridor. The pool chemicals were alarmingly strong on the eyes.
Review 38：Lovely welcoming staff. The very best. The social aspect of the hotel was obvious on a Sat night. The price was good value too. They also noticed that my daughter only had a bowl of cereal at breakfast and reduced the price without any prompting.

Review 43：No hot hot water in bathroom sink and beds very loose. Had to change rooms as four poster too wobbly lol! For the more mature although a lovely break away from the hustle and bustle of London. Needs redecoration peeling paper , paintwork, sink needs plugs cleaning full of hair and stuff.

Review 47：I cannot fault the hotel on anything Brendan and family were attentive and looked after us in a friendly and business type way. Please try this hotel as it is superb. You will not regret it. Food excellent room excellent staff excellent. Facilities excellent. Cannot fault and will be back ignore negative reviews don't know where they would come from. Sunday lunch is a must and breakfast is a slight. Thanks Brendan and family for a memorable stay.
Review 48：Room had a bit of a stale smell. Remote control for tv didnt work. Lack of shelving in bathroom which really neede upgrading. As there is entertainment in the hotel meaning windows had to be shut to kkep out the noise, needs air conditioning.

Review 50：The warm welcoming manners of all the staff, in particular of the breakfast lady Nikki, made our second and unplanned booking following our missed flight to Italy (from Stansted), a very pleasant one. This was topped by the very kind and symphatetic attitude from the owners who made our brief stay a very enjoyable one.
