Reviews for Fishguard Bay Hotel
Review 1:Receptionist unfriendly and unhelpful. Was charged for 3 sandwiches, chips n peas where when we ordered sandwiches only. Was asked for payment without being shown the itemised bill. Had to request same.
Review 2:It's a bit tired / well-used - but staff do keep it clean.
Review 3:Wonderfully friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Perfect for a stay-over if you're coming in on the boat.
Review 4:View was poor from the room as we paid for a deluxe .we was expected an amazing sea view( as stated) but u had to sit on the window sill to get a good look. Reception staff had a poor demeanour on checking out.the location of the hotel is not in Fishguard, it was good 40 minutes walk to Fishguard lower town. Need to be active to stay here.
Review 5:The room was lovely. Evening meal in the bar was good.
Review 6:Low points, Our room was very gloomy windows were filthy and the bathroom was absolutely tiny. If you are staying here pay for an executive room without a doubt. Also a low point was being we were too late for dinner on Saturday night at 8.15pm (Despite dinner service being advertised until 9:15pm) ! If it wasn't for the intervention of the bar staff we would have gone hungry as the dining room staff were not prepared to serve us.
Review 7:Location and the Staff where definitely the highpoints.
Review 8:It was a pleasant hotel with an interesting history & beautiful location. The terrace was a sun trap & relaxing. It was easy to get to beaches & places of interest in all directions. The staff were friendly & helpful.
Review 9:View from bedroom over service yard, which could have done with a tidy
Review 10:I found the location great could have done with a lick of paint but over all a fab hotel :)
Review 11:Neither of us slept well, food poorly presented. Little fresh options, would have liked fruit at breakfast and salad on the menu for lunch. Fortunately there was a Tesco express nearby.
Review 12:Location and size of room.
Review 13:The whole place could do with a lick of paint and a bit of TLC. WiFi was not available in my room, so had to stand on the landing for this
Review 14:Location was lovely and staff were friendly, especially breakfast staff
Review 15:Couldn't get the wifi to work in the room
Review 16:Lovely location Friendly staff Set meal in restaurant very good value for money I left a blouse at the hotel which the hotel returned to me very promptly
Review 17:Wifi only worked in public areas around reception and above (not in rooms).
Review 18:Lovely old fashioned hotel with good atmosphere. Great views across bay to Fishguard. Excellent evening meal.
Review 19:Half breakfast room full - staff totally disinterested - half the room not being used - coach party were checking out and waitress seemed far more interested in them. I last stayed at the hotel some 15 years ago - with my husband - and thought- as we hadn't had a great experience then - it might have improved - it hasn't - all I can say for it is that it is convenient to the ferry.I had breakfast at a Little Chef!
Review 20:Reservation incorrect, hair in tea pot, my mums handbag was taken from the breakfast table and placed into the kitchen for no apparent reason, rooms are something out of faulty towers, mould in the shower, manager was scruffy and we paid for 4 rooms that cost around £400, no refund or any compensation was offered and the manager threatened my sister when she said she was not happy to pay in full as she was so unhappy. Both management and staff were so unhelpful, they need to go on a major customer service and hospitality course. I wouldn't recommend this Hotel to anyone.
Review 21:the views of Fishguard harbour. this actually has nothing to do with the hotel and its outside so i actually didn't like anything.
Review 22:The only two negative were ... No tissues... Had to go out and buy some... And had to use a scissors to get at the shower and bath gels... Not reLly a big dealXxx
Review 23:It was so quiet and calm... In Saturday's sunshine ..we sat out ... Listened to the birds singing and had a relaxed cup of tea on the terrace... First class.... The staff were attentive and not over fussy.... I know Fishguard very well... This was a brilliant and new experience for me ...
Review 24:Wifi not working- fairly major disadvantage these days as phone signal also poor.
Review 25:Staff were attentive (but not overly so). Dinner was excellent and good value. Definitely recommend as a place to stay.
Review 26:Shower took some time to function properly (approx. 10mins). Presume due to low water pressure at 3rd floor level, but when hot water arrived shower was good.
Review 27:Good room size
Review 28:Not a great choice for people with young children. The atmosphere was a bit stuffy and it was a good distance from most restaurants.
Review 29:The view was pretty and the history of the hotel was cool.
Review 30:Television in room was a small old portable tv and difficult to use with digital box Wifi broke down Choice of non cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit etc. was poor Parking was difficult as only a small car park for a big hotel
Review 31:Bedroom although dated was comfortable Excellent views from hotel Cooked breakfast was good Bar area ok
