Reviews for Cafe Hotel du Theatre
Review 1:Could have done with a mirror near an electric socket.
Review 2:The location was very good could not have been better. The room was fairly basic but with a great view, comfortable bed and really good shower. Staff were excellent to the point that I was lent a hairdryer as I forgot mine. Nothing was too much trouble and more than satisfied for the cost.
Review 3:Great central location, Mike the owner was a genuinely nice man and very helpful, Anna the girl who worked there was also very helpful, very nice and good fun. Would definitely return.
Review 4:Time to change pillows! Really small room.
Review 5:Wery good location. Clean room, and bathroom. No noise, good wifi. Simple breakfast, but enough. All together, wery good value of money.
Review 6:No parking, but there is plenty not far away. 5 minutes DIY on the bathroom to fix the loo seat firmly and screw the towel rail to the wall would be good.
Review 7:The room was clean, the bed was comfortable with nice linen, the shower worked well, the heating worked and the patron was friendly. Plus its located in the heart of the historic part of the city. All this for a very reasonable price.
Review 8:Parking expensive, although free at night and on Sundays.
Review 9:Friendly and efficient staff! Central location to explore the old town and nearby restaurants. We enjoyed a great night at the Theatre opposite.
Review 10:Only part of staff speaks English. During our stay the Internet has notworked, but for us it was very important because we work using theInternet. The room and the hotel looks very unclean and it seems that ithas not been repaired for a very long time. So we had very unpleasantfeeling staying there. The bathroom was full of water when we weretaking a shower. Also when we have parked the car on the square not far from the hotel staff has said that it is free till 8 o'clock in the morning. But in the morning we found our car evacuated. Because on some days there is a market and parking is open only till 6 o-clock of the morning. So we were forced to pay 160 euros for car evacuation and for ploice fine and plus to this 30 euros to a taxi driver to get to the evacuation parking. Hotel in this situation said that it has not said us that this parking is free. But taxi driver has confirmed that this situation happens usually with this hotel.
Review 11:Location. Hotel is located in the centre of Dinan near the localtheatre.
Review 12:Very small room, and a small, not very modern bathroom but suitable for a stop-over, maybe not a great choice for a long stay
Review 13:Lovely staff, great location, very cheap and good value.
Review 14:Old tiny rooms. Look like a homeless shelter. No TV, no phone, no Wifi - you use the city's free wifi access. The rooms are disgusting.
Review 15:The location is excellent, right in the center. The attitude of staff is welcoming and pleasant
Review 16:It was a small room and the decor was a bit tired - but to be expected considering what good value it is. Our only complaint would be that the walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbours!
Review 17:The hotel is in a brilliant location for being right amongst the activities and fun of this great city! The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless.
Review 18:Lovely friendly staff brilliant location, very clean. Put our tandem in the garage free of charge
Review 19:THE BELLS!

Review 21:No room to put suitcases and toilet gear
Review 22:Location, friendly staff
Review 23:Great location at a wonderful price. Basic room but very clean and comfy. Solo traveler and felt very safe and secure here.
Review 24:Good location & good cafe.
Review 25:The bed was very hard.
Review 26:Location was fabulous, in the old town.
Review 27:Need to park offsite; narrow stairs to reach rooms
Review 28:Excellent location; very friendly staff; great value for money
Review 29:The room was very small, which was not obvious from the photograph
Review 30:Stayed several times at this hotel. Nice rooms. Good location and friendly helpful staff.
Review 31:Narrow dark stairs
Review 32:The bed and shower
Review 33:Exceptionally clean everything looked brand new and unused.
Review 34:Room to small for 2 people .
Review 35:Very friendly and helpful perfect location and price

Review 38:Room decor
Review 39:Location Owner
Review 40:Very good basic hotel located in the very centre of beautiful old Dinan. V friendly & helpful staff and v nice relaxed atmosphere.
Review 41:Great location. New management really friendly and helpful. Lovely room recently decorated. Would and will stay again
Review 42:No tv
Review 43:Nothing really! Basic hotel but matches the price!
Review 44:Friendly staff, good location and excellent value!
Review 45:For the cost of the hotel, you could not really have any negatives.
Review 46:Great location, and absolutely 100% value for money. Excellent continentiala breakfast which is also value for money
Review 47:Reports of being smelly are accurate but it is just in the stairway. The room, although small, was very clean. It was great to have the bathroom en suite.
Review 48:The location was terrific
Review 49:Rooms are very basic, but this is reflected in the price.
Review 50:Excellent location and friendly hosts. Superb value for money. Clean and comfortable. Very quaint in the heart of the old town.
Review 51:The hotel is in town center, just in front of the theater. The rooms are cozy and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We recommend you to stay here!
Review 52:We didn't actually stay at the hotel because when we arrived the hotel was locked and there was nobody there. A local told us that the bar was closed for refurbishment but he thought the hotel was operating. We waited an hour (until 5.30 pm) but were cold and wet as we are cycle touring and the weather was bad, so had to go and find somewhere else. The place we found was more expensive than we wanted to pay but by then it was late and we had no choice.
Review 53:There was supposed to be a breakfast available but it wasn't when I was there. The hotel and the bedding could have been a bit cleaner.
Review 54:The staff was very friendly and helpful and the accommodations were comfortable and quaint. There was lots of hot water and it was in a great location.
Review 55:We were OK being sprightly for oldies, and travelling light, but beware the rooms are up a narrow and quite steep staircase with no lift. Again, we were not too concerned about this, but no breakfast is offered.
Review 56:Extremely, and I mean extremely, cheap for ensuite. Excellent position for the very pretty old town of Dinan.
Review 57:I have zero complaints. Wouldn't recommend if you have lots of heavyluggage and can't carry it up the narrow staircase.
Review 58:Great location, has distinct French character, perfect price, clean.Patrick is a really nice guy. Lots of restaurants nearby. Plenty ofparking space in the nearby streets. Perfect for an overnight.
Review 59:Nothing to prevent a return trip, but points to be aware of :- It is in a medieval town building, the stairs are compact and quite steep, can be awkward for the mobility impaired, or those travelling with large luggage. Room six has fixtures and fitting that are best described as fittings. It also has a picture with a fear of heights !
Review 60:PRICE ! The location of the Hotel is superb, their rate for staying is very fare for the establishment, for the money you should not really expect much more than somewhere to lay your head. The place is small, quaint, and slightly eccentric, but these all add to the charm in a sort of way. Patrik the main man, in fact barman, receptionist, cleaner, concierge, and probable owner, is a treat to meet. He did all he could to make our short stay as good as possible and has a fun sense of humour. In short a Bohemian stop over in an Artisan area of town with history, shops, and eateries all within stumbling distance. As fun a place as you want to make it !
Review 61:Amazing location and very friendly host. Very good place not just to stay overnight, but also downstairs bar is excellent place for a pint and good music!
Review 62:The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful when our flights were cancelled. Nice breakfast and free Wi-fi. Superb location just 100m from main square.
Review 63:Bed needed a new box spring
Review 64:Very close to the center and walking distance from the bus station. The owner let us choose the room we want to occupy. Expect typical steep steps.
Review 65:Quite old fashioned style shower, but still works well. Quite steep stairs if you have heavy bags.
Review 66:Very friendly and relaxed owner; he let us store our bikes safely in the cafe over night, and recomended us places to visit. Nice bright room with lovely big windows and sunshine. Very central location.
Review 67:Had to wait in rain for irate owner to open door at 15.12! Lock didnt work well on door to room Very narrow stairs and corridors Room small
Review 68:Location
Review 69:I normally don't write reviews as I think that people are often toofussy, however, on this occasion I felt passionate to explain that thisis definitely not a hotel. They are rooms above a very stale smoky barthat the owner has to make some money. The decor was very makeshift (aposter with a wooden border) and the bathroom was shabby. The bed waslike a campbed, not good if you suffer from backache. It really didsmell of stake smoke. The radiator was on high the whole time but theroom was never warm enough.
Review 70:The location was brilliant! Near to the nice shops. Although the showerwas falling apart and from the 70s, it was powerful.
Review 73:Not what we 'didn't like' but rather a little unusual. Didn't really feel like a hotel, rather a bar with rooms above. Not a set up we were use to but served our purpose as a stopover. Basic accommodation - no frills and good value.
Review 74:The location was superb, within walking distance of all the amenities. Dinan is a 'little' gem and well worth a visit. Room was clean and comfortable with en-suite facilities. Very welcoming staff and advised us of an excellent place to eat
Review 75:Small room, very thin walls so no privacy.
Review 76:Location inside the old city walls.
