Reviews for The Ferryboat

Review 1:No real complaint; would have put a higher rating for a later breakfast time - but in fairness, we didn't ask if we could avail of a later breakfast.

Review 2:Access for late check-in well organised with owners. We arrived on the late ferry and wanted somewhere near to stay for the night. Perfect for that reason.

Review 3:Expected a hotel but it was a b&b even though breakfast was available . We had to go out to eat in evening Just wish people would advertise correctly

Review 4:Staff great .breakfast great

Review 5:The owners were there to greet us upon arrival and were so friendly and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us and have said that we will go back there again. Highly recommend as only 5 mins away from Fishguard ferry

Review 6:Nice friendly place and accommodating owners. Food excellent. Value for money excellent. For the value it met all expectations and above for quality of food and service at breakfast.

Review 7:Check in was super easy as arriving on the late ferry. Keys were left out and a code was sent to our phones that morning to access the front door. Michele was more than accomodating with our breakfast requests. Bedrooms were clean and spacious.

Review 11:Poor location for eating out only one pub undergoing revamp serving no food at the time.

Review 17:It was clean and comfortable Staff very friendly and helpful Would certainly stay again and recommend it

Review 18:The owners were hardly seen. When we arrived in the afternoon we had to ring them because they were out and we couldn't gain access, along with another couple.

Review 19:The breakfast each day was really good and the two girls who served in the restaurant were helpful and friendly. So was the excellent chef.

Review 20:Walls a little bit thin.

Review 21:Tidy, clean rooms, very warm and friendly atmosphere, managers are very helpful. Good bed, nice bathroom. Top of all is the mind-blowing breakfast, take your time and enjoy. Bicycle riders welcome and the single bed room is space enough, I thought. Plan to come back.

Review 22:Very hard to sleep with the noise from the other rooms. Could hear every Movement from toilets, showers and shower fans.

Review 23:Location to the ferry. Breakfast staff very friendly.

Review 24:Nothing - excellent facilities.

Review 25:Ability to arrive late (after midnight) and have a comfortable bed to sleep in after travelling on the late ferry from Ireland.

Review 26:The Ferryboat is a comfortable, clean and recently updated inn close enough to walk to the ferry dock, train station and bus stops in about 10 minutes. But those are not even the best features. The owners and staff are wonderful: friendly, helpful, inviting. And great chefs! Breakfast is extraordinary and not to be missed! If my travels take me to Wales again (hopefully) I will definitely be headed to the Ferryboat for as long as possible.

Review 27:Difficult to charge your gadgets in the room, as sockets are not easy to find.

Review 28:Nice, clean room, good bed. Excellent breakfast. Easy to find, easy to park.

Review 29:We very much appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially the owners. The room was very comfortable. We enjoyed having the Wifi.

Review 30:The proximity of the rail lines gave the impression of being in a mild earthquake each time a train passed. Luckily this was not so often and not at all during the night. No real restaurants within walking distance and no chance to get any refreshments on the evenin we arrived.

Review 31:The location was perfect for a stay prior to taking the ferry. The breakfast was quite good and the owner was very pleasant.

Review 32:No fridge to cool drinks, wifi disconnected quite a bit. Location requires a car - can't really walk to a nearby pub or restaurant.

Review 39:The name & pictures suggests that it overlooks the sea, it doesn't. The bar is closed. The position means you need a car to go into town.

Review 40:The room was excellent, breakfast fab & all the staff very helpful. Ample parking.

Review 41:We had the night ferry and had to leave early in the morning. So we wouldn't see the owners to pay. Now, we didn't have enough money in Pounds so i wrote a letter and we gave them euro's. I never heard anything, so we're very thankfull to them, accepting euro's.

Review 42:Absolutely Nothing !

Review 43:From the moment we arrived Michele made us feel very welcome. She took the time to talk to us about our stay and made us feel at home. We were traveling with our 21 month old daughter and she made a fuss over her. The room was delightful. Lovely and comfy and stylish. The bathroom was very clean and the shower very relaxing. Our breakfast was out of this world. As I had just arrived after spending a week in Singapore and staying in a hotel there I was dreading breakfast. It was very lovely and the choice was great. Chatting with the other guests over toast and a Full English everyone seemed very friendly and equally happy with their stay too.

Review 49:We arrived in the wee hours of the morning. Maybe could have walked from the ferry but the street lights go out at 1:00 a.m. and we had no idea where to go. Luckily got a taxi to come out to the ferry bldg. But it was late.

Review 51:Nothing to dislike, whatsoever.

Review 52:We had travelled to Fishguard for an annual adventure weekend, coasteering, and used the Ferryboat as our base. We had a warm welcome on arrival and were shown our rooms. They are clean, well-appointed and comfortable - all I could have wished for. Michelle was very helpful in terms of local advice and pointed us in the right direction for restaurants etc. and we had a great first night in "Peppers", where the food was fabulous and they just happened to have a jazz evening that night - which was good fun. Breakfast at the Ferryboat was smashing...the full range on offer - I was particularly impressed by the fruit that was available (strawberries and blueberries - my favourite). The staff, again, were very accommodating and friendly. I can definitely recommend the Ferryboat and would go back again whenever I am in the Fishguard area. Oh, and Michelle...I apologise agan, and publicly, for going away with your room key - hiopefully you will have received it back by now...sorry !! :)
