Reviews for Résidence MMV Le Duguesclin
Review 1:This is a minor thing but you will need to bring (or buy) toilet paper and cleaning products, including washing up liquid and cloths.
Review 2:I liked the location (about 10 mins walk from Dinan centre), the car parking and general set up. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had lots of hot water. It is very quiet and ideal for families. Facilities such as the fridge and beds are modern.
Review 3:Rooms we stayed in faced north so did not have any sun during the day. Very high ceilings so a little clinical rather than warm and friendly atmosphere.
Review 4:Fairly close to town but certainly had everything one needs for a short break.
Review 5:nothing was bad but it would have been nice, as the apartments do not have balconys to have somewhere to relax outside maybe a few lounger outside on grass.as well as undercover at the swimming pool.
Review 6:Everything, the apartment was spacious and well equipped with a lovely swimming pool.
Review 7:Good basic 'no frills' clean and airy accommodation with plenty of room, a well appointed kitchen, a comfortable bed and a quiet atmosphere. About 1 kilometre from the 'historic centre' of Dinan.
Review 8:Kitchen facilities were very limited in terms of space. An oven would have been useful. The bed was very hard but that is a personal preference for softer beds.
Review 9:Plenty of space, easy parking, dishwasher.
Review 10:It is very unconveniant to check a list of things what is available in the appartment. I will never book again an accomodation where it is not possible to cancel some days in advance! Room too small, kitchen really too small.
Review 11:We arrived at 10 pm and departed at 8am the following morning and didn't see a soul, the entry instructions worked well but no one available for checkout, so we deposited the key in a letter box outside reception!
Review 12:Large spacious room, comfy bed, plenty of utensils for self catering, lovely shower and plenty of wardrobe space.
Review 13:Arrived ah wee late, and had to wait 4 hours for management to let us in for our room? Very bad business practices!!!
Review 14:Very pleasent recepsionist! Location was great.
Review 15:2nd and third beds were sofa's in the main room. no good for any longer than the one night stay and although reasonable and clean, general maintenance could do with improvement.
Review 16:the facility for a family of two adults and three school aged children to share the same room, of course the wifi was a godsend to entertain the kids.
Review 17:Breakfast was a complete waste of time. If your going to bother with breakfast then at least make a effort with it.
Review 18:1st time with this group. Nice apartment but felt a little stark. Good for us &2kids.
Review 19:No sitting area in swimming pool, condensation on ceiling makes everything wet.
Review 20:Good quiet location, friendly and helpful staff, well appointed and comfortable apartment.
Review 21:It's not 3* hotel, but 2* or even 1* The rooms for couples are without windows. THE Bed was very uncomfortable. Nobody from the staff in the hotel after 19:00.
Review 22:It was difficult to find, as on a new street, but we got there after a few turn arounds!! The hotel is actually in same location as another hotel - same building. the 3 yr old twins didn't want to use the pool, it was too cold and deep, but ideal for older children
Review 23:the apartment was lovely, clean and spacious. Fridge already turned on and useable. We were on 1st floor, but there is a lift. Parking in car park at front of hotel. No steps. Security on doors.
Review 24:Sofa bed was broken, hallways were dark and dingy, 3 cups for 4 people and one of those was cracked! No electric kettle in the room, pool closes at 7 even though it is still broad daylight and its a long walk to anywhere interesting. Many better places to stay.
Review 25:nothing much!
Review 26:Had difficulty in locating the hotel even with a satnav. Road name too small and no direction signs; even the hotel sign on the building wasn't very clear . Could invest in some professional marketing advice.
Review 27:The accommodation; facilities that were available if you wanted to use them the size & standard of the room. All excellent.
Review 28:Really, a drive to get to town. Limited local choices. Kerbstones just high enough to disappear yet catch front of car.
Review 29:Room clean, well equipped and staff friendly. Hotel is in good condition.
Review 30:Nothing not to like about this hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, size of the apartment excellent, location, nearer to the town then we expected, overall, a lovely few days stay, would highly recommend.
Review 31:The email we received indicated that the office would be open until noon but when we arrived minutes before 12:00 noon the sign at the entrance indicated the office closed at 11:00. Also, we were unsure where to go once we turned into the street. Thanks to a very kind resident in the apartment at the corner, he showed us where to go.
Review 32:The staff was amazing. When we arrived an found the office closed the restaurant staff was very kind and helpful. Also, when we checked in we found we had been upgraded even though we were there only one night.
Review 33:Staying in an appartment is far easier than a hotel room when traveling with children & this was ideal. Everywhere including the pool were clear & in good repair.
Review 34:We had to clean the apartment and there was any goods with what to clean ant the pool working hours is not suitable, cause closing early and opening late
Review 35:It was nice place, good looking apartment, clean, near the center
Review 36:Rooms so plain, no wardrobe or draws or any furniture to put your things on ! We are none smokers and the rooms stank of cigarettes. Place had no warmth/ unwelcoming .
Review 37:The apartments need some new furniture, in particular the very small double bed and the bed sofa that was well past its sell by date being dirty, dangerous to fingers and thighs and totally uncomfortable. also in a self catering apartment, no kettle!! We had to go and buy one. Receptionist was apologetic and said not first complaint.
Review 38:Peaceful with nice view of gardens in front of next door apartment blocks.
Review 39:We had a studio flat, the fridge noise disturbed us in the night. The ventilation system, and the radiators were noisy, in the night.
Review 40:Very clean, fresh and modern. Very good value.
Review 41:Only the lack of ovan as we bought a pizza one day that we could not cook x
Review 42:The location was fantastic, as was the free parking. Lovely clean and spacious accommodation. Would highly recommend x
Review 43:Had to pay extra for towels and cleaning. We cleaned unit ourselves and saved 45 euros. We picked up soap and other items to use at the grocery store and it cost us less that buying their items. We also bought two towels at store for less than the 8 euros each we would have had to pay.
Review 44:Liked that we had a separate bedroom and kitchen with dining table and living room. The price was great. We stayed for 4 days and made our own meals.
Review 45:If you coming at the night it's hard to find the residence,no neon light with the name of the residence.Internet connection works only for one phone/laptop per time.
Review 46:new furniture, very comfortable apartment, kind and professional receptionist.
Review 47:No 24 hour reception ( closes at 8) A little far from town Not very well signposted
Review 48:Nice pool Quiet sleep with no noise Big room, with kitchen well stocked and lovely bathroom
Review 49:Grumpy Receptionist; on-site Restaurant closed when we visited
Review 50:Facilities and Equipment in Room were good. Good location for access to Dinan/St.Malo, and local countryside.
Review 51:The reception was only open for a short time. My wifi password didn't work and there was nobody there to ask at 7pm reception didn't open till 9 am. Not helpful.
Review 52:Shower is bad: not enough water en temperature changes by the second. Pool is very small, some benches in the surrounding would be very nice.
Review 53:Spacious room, clean and light! The building is very good soundproof, sleeping is prefect. The restaurant is nice !!!
Review 54:Lift out of action on arrival and had to take all luggage up to the top floor.
Review 55:Room was good size, clean and tidy. Great covered pool. Friendly staff.
Review 56:Flat was very functional, modern, nice and quiet and very clean but it felt a bit out of the way and lacking atmosphere. You can walk down to the town 15 mins, Dinan is amazing, we cycled in each evening for supper which was really nice with loads of lovely bars and restaurants, spoilt for choice, but accommodation does feel like you are in a residential block - not really a holiday feel at all. We felt it was a bit out of the way but as we found our bearings as the week went on it was fine. There was lots of space and it was very clean and we slept well as the block was quiet but no balcony or anything so felt once you were in the flat you were locked away. As a base though it was good and we literally just slept there and then went out. Had a great week but drove out to different places each day.
Review 57:Although this place calls itself a hotel, the level is more like a good dormitory, or youth hostel. The apartment itself was spacious, but very puritan. There were no carpets at all, the floor was plastic in the whole apartment, and the beds were not very comfortable. There were only 4 setats by the table in an apartment for 6. The kitchen was fine, but quite small. The cleanliness was relative: the visible area was fine, but "behind the scenes" (under beds, sofa, corners, etc) it wasn't clean at all. We had the oportunity to clean the apartment ourselves, or pay a cleaning fee of 105 EUR (!), which is simply insane. We have purchased some detergents in the nearby supermarket (becouse it wasn't provided), and cleaned the whole place within 1 hour. We made it much cleaner then it was before our arrival. The elevator didn't work, we had to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor, and down again at the end of our stay. We had 4 nights, and they couldn't manage to fix it. The wifi was unstable (for example it didn't work in all rooms), and was only provided for one device. They don't provide towels, but you could "rent" for 8 EUR each. We have purchased some towels for 9 EUR in the nearby shop. They were quite good quality. LOL. They even refused to provide additional toilet paper after we run out of it. No comment. This place could be much better, with a bit more customer friendly policies, and a bit better quality furnishing. In the current setup the service is very very far from the pricing level. I don't recommend to anyone.
Review 58:The location is not bad, and the apartment was spcious. The pool area is OK.
Review 59:WiFi didn't work in room at end of hall - had to go to lobby.
Review 60:Pool access provided good break for kids. Close to grocery store. Good parking. Fully equipped kitchen. Cleaning option - pay or do it yourself.
Review 61:price compared to other hotels we stayed in during the same week hard to find - new garmin satnav bought last week which did not include street name
Review 62:good size fridge big bed
Review 63:As we stayed in the Residence for more than 3 nights/days, we wereliable to pay a cleaning fee if we did not clean the apartmentourselves. We knew this, but the cost of €45.00 was never listed inBooking.com's listing of the residence. We cleaned the residenceourselves, but had to purchase cleaning gear/liquids to do this tosave €45.00. I was informed by the management that as the apartmentswere classified as a ' residence', and not ' hotel ',this entitled them to charge a cleaning fee. We had to purchase two( 2 )kits of towels, ( €8.00 each ) which we used for the five ( 5 ) days. Iwas aware of this charge and accepted it. Now, I believe, I may bewrong, but there is also a hotel section to the establishment. If we hadstayed in the hotel for 5 nights, we would not have had to clean ourroom on departure, our towels would have been changed every day, and ourroom would have been serviced every day. If we had stayed in theResidence Appartment for only 3 nights, we would not have had to worryabout a cleaning charge. Our Apartment was inspected by managementbefore check- out to see that the apartment cleanliness was acceptable. Also, an inventory sheet, listing all items in the Appartment, had tochecked and signed by me, that all items were in fact present in theroom - items from the mop to the dishwasher, plates, knives, bedsidelamps etc. However, the list was only in the ' language Francais' , and I do not speak French. I was told by management ' not toworry about it '. That was fine, but I used a French Dictionary andchecked the list, and found that there was only one bedside lamp, nottwo, as listed. Each item had a replacement cost if missing, or brokenby us. Some French names of some apartment items were not listed in thedictionary, so I had to put trust in the management when they said 'Don't worry about it ', and not bill me for a missing bedsidelamp. They didn'T.
Review 64:Staff were very helpful and courteous. Apartment was large, self-contained, quiet. An excellent view from the loft apartment on fourthfloor. Free parking a bonus. Efficient, large lift. Large bathroom.Water hot, pressure good. Access to dinan and surrounding towns is verygood if one has a car. Restaurant menu range, layout and service werevery good.
Review 65:The place and the weather were excellent. There is plenty to do within an hours drive of the town. Dinan was a bit "touristy" but we enjoyed it.
Review 66:Huge apartment - one bed type for 6. Sparsely furnished but super clean and lovely bathroom and comfy beds. Pool was great with kids. 10-15 min walk to old city.
Review 67:Nothing to complain really. It's 20min walk to old town.
Review 68:very clean, bed cot and high chair for my 1 year old baby Good matrass and bed Quite area seeming pool incl £44 per night for family room in Dinan!
Review 69:Reservation was made with the promise of daily cleaning of the room (except kitchen). Cleaning was not provided, and yet this didn't stop the staff from insisting on ridiculous demands of cleanliness of the apartment upon our checkout, despite us having cleaned it reasonably well (as we found it).
Review 70:Very spacious, good kitchen, good bathroom.
Review 71:There were a lot of additional charges, such as towels (Euro8 per person which we feel was too much), and cleaning fee of Euro 65/45 per room was also high. The Wifi connection was sporadic and only limited to one user per room, though we had rooms booked for 6 people.
Review 72:The rooms are spacious. The pool is good for families with young children.
Review 73:Poor location signage and the sat nav position is for the Hotel at one end, with the road blocked by a large stone! You could see that there were plans for a large complex but the finances have stalled it.
Review 74:Quiet location within a reasonable walking distance ( 15 - 20 minutes ) flat walk into the city of Dinan. Being an apartment you could buy some pastries for breakfast and so no time commitments. Comfortable and with a pool.
Review 75:There was no character to the apartments, while comfortable, they felt like student like apartments The location was a good 10 minutes walk out of town
Review 76:The apartments were spacious and functional
Review 77:Cooker / sink arrangement awkward but serviceable. Cleaning charges additional to room rates and not published.
Review 78:Rooms excellent, great bed.
