Reviews for The Angel Inn
Review 1:We turned up at 8:30 PM on the Friday to find the kitchen closed then was told the kitchen hasn't been open for a week. We settled for a take away pizza from over the road as it was the only place to eat. But the junior suite nice but no TV in the bedroom bathroom very dated if you're over 6 foot can't really have a shower as the ceiling is low .
Review 2:Great location
Review 3:The decor in the room was lovely except for a round mirror on the wall which made the room slightly less charming/bit tacky. If they just took it off the wall and replaced with a picture the room would be super.
Review 4:The location was great. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the overall feel of the place was lovely - charm and period features.
Review 5:One meal was not good. Pheasant, which was overcooked and very tough. Continental breakfast very limited.
Review 6:location and pet friendly On the whole the meals in the restaurant were very good.
Review 7:Disinterested staff and no info at arrival. Breakfast was a poor offering and felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. 2nd bed was a paper thin mattress on a fold out bed. Poor.
Review 8:Relatively clean and spacious room
Review 9:I booked a room for my father, he was barely able to sleep as the window in the room didn't shut properly and the blinds/curtains were also faulty. In addition there was a rave of some description which wasn't helped by the fact the window didn't fully close. He eventually left at 6:15 and drove home to go and get some sleep.
Review 10:Had to wait in reception for staff on arrival. Room was very dusty and shower cubicle not clean. Went to bar for adrink and found broken glass in the cushions on the chair, staff not that concerned.
Review 11:Free parking, hotel easy to find. Breakfast was the best thing about our stay.
Review 12:Unable to open windows in our first room which made it to warm to sleep. We chould hear other guests snoring. Breakfast Danish were straight from a packet and stale.
Review 13:We were able to change room.
Review 14:Had to be moved rooms due to a constant flushing toilet, then had to argue that we had booked a premium room when they moved us to a premium room insisting it was an upgrade. Shower was pitiful in its flow
Review 15:Breakfast, comfortable bed & location. Mostly very friendly staff and receptionist was particularly good
Review 16:Rooms could do with a good clean. Dirty marks on walls & skirting boards and in the bathroom cleaning around pipes that are on floor level. Shower did not work.
Review 17:Good location, friendly staff, clean bedding & quiet. Great car parking. Good food & bar.
Review 18:Not being able to get into a hotel for which a booking had been accepted, but what was more worrying for those that were staying there was that the hotel had no staff if there had been a fire or similar emergency.
Review 19:Don't know, as I could not get through the hotel door as there was no night porter and no one answered the door or hotel telephone. So if you do book here make sure they are about to let you in.
Review 20:Not being informed of the scaffolding covering the front of the building and even worse painter and decorators looking through our windows.
Review 21:We liked the location and friendliness of the staff. The court yard was very nice too.
Review 22:Wrong room . Should have been a double. Ended up in a pokey room which really was not fit for purpose. . And not squeaky clean. We were given a discount but our night away was not what we hoped for

Review 32:Dirty cups at breakfast. No pastries or 'freshly pressed apple juice' as menu suggested.

Review 39:Small room. Stairs. Lack o fresh air. Tiny bathroom.
